The Complete Road to Hell Series Bundle

Rate this book
The Complete Road to Hell Series bundle includes all four books in the series. Book 1: Good Intentions

River
Thirteen years have passed since the war started, bombs fell, and the central states became a thing of the past. When the war ended, the government erected a wall to divide the surviving states from the destroyed ones. I never expected to leave my town, but unlike those who volunteered to go to the wall, I wasn’t given a choice.

Kobal
I’ve spent my entire life with one mission… reclaim my throne from Lucifer and fix what the angels tore apart when they cast him from Heaven.

I’ve never been closer to my throne, yet I find myself risking everything because I can’t stay away from her… the woman who might be the key to destroying Lucifer.

Book 2: Carved

River
As the perilous journey across a country I believed destroyed begins, I no longer know who I am or what I’m becoming. With every passing day, my abilities grow stronger, as does my fear of what comes next.

Kobal
With an unknown number of enemies between us and the gateway, protecting River proves to be more difficult than I anticipated, but I won’t stop until I destroy Lucifer and reclaim River’s heart.

Book 3: The Road

River
Standing at the entrance to Hell, two things are evident: I have no idea what I’m doing, and the gateway is not closing.

Kobal
I expected River to be at my side if we entered Hell, but now she’s gone in without me. It’s only a matter of time before Lucifer learns of her arrival in my world and sends his army after her.

Book 4: Into Hell

River
When I find myself face to face with Lucifer, I realize what he wants from me could annihilate Hell and Earth.

Kobal
As the battle for Hell rages, the line between enemies and allies blurs. I will do whatever it takes to protect River and destroy Lucifer, but with everything around us unraveling, many will be lost.

Find out who will survive in the epic conclusion to The Road to Hell Series.

The Road 46 Chapters ☑️ 4 Stars
Into Hell 58 Chapters + Epilogue ☑️4.5 Stars

Good Intentions, Book 1, 43 Chapters, Rating: 4.5 Stars

This was a reread for me and it was just as cool as I remember it. I docked it some points though, due to the handful of grammatical errors(which I did not remember being so plentiful). The Dystopian aspect was highlighted and utilized in a great way. I loved that there was evidence and descriptions showing that the world as we know it, no longer exists.

I loved the plot as a whole. The world abruptly is dismantled one day, humans have to adapt to the lack of resources and the new normal of life not operating as it once had. They are also kept in the dark with the truth the government has kept hidden for this change. River (FMC), is different from others, but mostly she is such a devoted sister to her two younger brothers that made it nearly impossible not to fall in love with her. Which, honestly made me tear up a couple times with how pure her love was as the eldest sibling. River’s life is changed once she suffers a betrayal and she is thrust into the hands of the government. She discovers just exactly what has been hidden from the public all these years….and what her role is in fighting back for the sake of humanity.

She is thrust into all of these new truths while having to not only accept it but not fall apart at the same time. I thought that her humanity being tested through some pretty tough revelations, was pretty realistic. I appreciated that she had dimensions to her and the book ended on a great note of her character having to work through obstacles.

*There were minor grammatical errors, but nothing so severe that it impacted my reading experience.

Carved, Book 2, 47 Chapters, Rating: 5 Stars

I loved the pacing of this book and that I could see growth from a handful of characters. I loved how the plot developed, the new creature encounters, the inclusion of more characters, and how much River (FMC) grew in a believable way. There were a handful of humorous scenes that had me smiling like a cat. I really enjoyed those unexpectedly funny moments. I simply loved this book.

*There were minor grammatical errors, but nothing so severe that it impacted my reading experience.

The Road, Book 3, 46 Chapters, Rating: 4

I found that this one had the most grammatical errors which was a little bit of a drawback at times…however, the story was excellent and I loved getting to travel into Hell with the gang. I loved the Creepy Carnival of Terror and Magnus (he was an instant crush for me).

Although, with this book I kept stumbling across the most critiques unfortunately, besides the errors…I was a bit annoyed at over halfway into the book when Kobal (MMC), said something that was just silly. Without being spoilery, Kobal basically voiced, out loud, on how he never realized or noticed something that River was doing…this was silly because 1) she’s literally been doing it since Book 1 and 2) Kobal is over 1,500 years old….so you’re telling me that this male is that imperceptive after hundreds upon hundreds of years of existence? Especially considering that he was forged from the fires of Hell and he has had to have years of being aware of his surroundings at all times….I just think that it was a lazy insert of the Author and I wished it had been edited out. 3) The Demons are consistently being referred to as Men (Man)….I personally think that the correct terminology should have been Male. These are Demons, not huMANs and it stood out to me as incorrect🤷🏻‍♀️.

I really enjoyed the story progression, but had a difficult time rating this higher because of the editing missteps. I found myself being pulled out of the story with Demons consistently being referred to as Men…& the unawareness of Kobal, plus River at times too. *Once, River didn’t even realize she was in a dress…which I found odd. Besides the fact that putting it on didn’t give away that River was wearing a dress, which okay I could get over if her head wasn't clear enough…I had a head scratching moment of why the Author thought to include this “aha!” moment from River much later when she realizes after walking for some time that the clothing she was wearing was a dress…I just think that could have been edited out. And a prime example of errors that Alpha/Beta Readers, plus any proofreading, could have caught and polished up.

I Loved Magnus though, he was such an incredible addition to the storyline. I loved the action, the creatures, the way that Hell was described (even though I thought there’d be much more fire). It was still very cool, creative wise.

Into Hell, Book 4, 58Chapters+ Epilogue, Rating: 4 Stars

I actually switched over to the Audiobook with this one, and Sonya Field absolutely slayed this! She was so incredible, I am eager to go and see what other books she has narrated. Absolutely phenomenal, and I applaud her performance.

Overall, I really enjoyed the plot development, but I could have done without so many spice scenes. The only reason I say this, is because by Book 4, I didn't think it was so necessary to have so many dedicated spice scenes when there were already plentiful in Books 1, 2, and 3. I found myself being more interested in what else was going on, rather than another smut scene between the FMC and MMC, when it had already been well established that they can't keep their hands off one another.

I appreciated the conclusion of this book installment over the overarching plot that spanned over the 4 books. I loved the action scenes, plus all of the other characters and creatures that had some scenes. There was quite a bit of humor in these books that I loved. I feel that these 4 books were a solid 4 star experience for myself. Enjoyable, entertaining, but not without its flaws. I will absolutely be reading more from this Author. As well as reading the next 4 books in this world!

Started with book one on spotify audio books and got caught up, so I decided to read the set over the holidays.
It's a relatively easy read but enough of a storyline to be interesting and held my interest. Possessive demon alpha, a FMC that pushes back and finds her strength. Pretty good smutt too.

Post apocalyptic setting, humans have bombed their way through and made a hole to hell, the good demons came earth side to train humans to assist in their fight to defend earth and retake hell from lucifer. They also need to search for the one in the prophecy, one human with powers who will sway the balance of the fight...

I absolutely loved this series! I spent quite a few nights reading till way past 3 am desperate to find what happens next.
This series fits perfectly into the 4 books. Often, authors drag things out without any substance to ensure they get another book out of a series, this was not the case!
The characters were real and some of them became loved and others even more hated than at the start.
This is definitely one of the best series I've read in a while, not once needing a break before continuing. I am definitely heading towards the spinoff series as soon as possible.

Overall an amazing and addicting series. I had the opportunity to get the audiobooks and I love them. The narrator, Sonja Field is wonderful. Each book will keep you on your toes. It has it all👉🏼suspense, thrilling action, magical creatures, a badass FMC, a strong MMC, Brenda K. Davies gives us angst, romance and spice. You can’t help but love the secondary characters as well. You’ll want to know everything about them. The story allows for other storylines to develop naturally that just keeps you on edge. I highly recommend this series. You will not want to put it down. Happy reading!

I would give this book 4 stars if the author hadn’t recapped so much throughout the series. Once you get use to skipping the recaps, the story itself is very interesting. The author does a great job of depicting a world of demons, humans and fallen angels vying for control and creating a new existence in their broken dystopian world created when humans broke open a gate to hell.

Buy this series.

One of the best series I have ever read. I love a strong heroine and River is very strong. She doesn't put up with shit and her and Kobal are awesome together. So many emotions, but I laughed so much more. I would get so teary eyed I laughed so hard. Great book. You won't regret it.

Cheers to Brenda Davies 🍻 I devoured all four books in five days! The nods to River Phoenix, Supernatural, and Good Omens was a WONDERFUL surprise! I cried, I laughed (skelleins 🤣 ghosts) and I cried some more. I walked through Hell, fought Lucifer, and fell in love 🥰 all in 5 days!! Because of The Road to Hell Series, I am now a life long fan. All Hail Brenda, Long Live the Queen!

Awesome

What an incredible series. I hadn’t read any of this author’s books until now, but I intend reading all of them (and there are lots). This series is an intriguing and a whole new take on heaven and hell, and Brenda Davies’ imagination is ‘out of this world’. The story of Kobal and River is special, and is story-telling at its best. Highly recommended.

Book 1 was good... Book 2: not bad. After that? I found challenging to continue reading. I'm disappointed but I still think its a decent series.

Box set must have

If you like fantasy, paranormal, fighting, love, comedic quips, then this box set is a great read of apocalyptic scenario that contains all these things. It's best to get the box set as once you start reading you become addicted and engrossed in the narrative. It starts from River Dawson's perspective and changes to Kobal, King of Hell's perspective which allows a smooth storytelling transition of events. I have already posted reviews to the first two books as I had purchased those prior to the box set option. So this review will be about the remaining two last books in the series.

So the road into hell is carved with good intentions is the series - each book is the main reflection of this quote. The road. Book 3. River, Kobal and crew continue their attempt to close the gate that the humans opened from earth. Battling Lucifer and acquiring some helpful allies Magnus, our heroes suffer a lot of setbacks. We find out what River is. We learn some interesting facts. Hawk finds out what he is - although we readers already suspect. Investigation into the hellhounds and the seals are revealed. River meets her biological father, Rio. We meet some other interesting creatures. Conclusion doesn't end with a cliffhanger but does allow our heroes respite.

Book 4. Into Hell. This concludes our Kobal and River series. Battle with Lucifer (again). The seals are all destroyed. There are 201 of them total. Loss. Wins. Destructions. Finally, rebuilding a new empire as Kobal and his Chosen and Queen River get their ending. We find out more about River's ancestry. Sadness and other revelations and new unsuspecting allies come forward as seals are broken and creatures are destroyed. Very good series and having read the first two books in the spin-off series continues to remain spellbinding.

Paranormal Series Genius!

I love Brenda K. Davies’s Vampire serieses. So, when I looked up her name to find another series to read I came across this series. When I first opened the book there was a glossary of terms that you need to know for the story and I knew then that this was going to be a great read! I loved the story, I loved the tribulations that the characters went through, and I also love how beautifully the author creates the world to where you are completely enthralled into the story like you are living it yourself. This story has everything in it. Ex. Angels, Demons, Ghost, Romance, steamy love scenes, and more!

What a journey!

I loved this series. The world was so beautifully created and it felt like I was there, a part of it, as I read it. River and Kobal have to be amongst my favorite couples, their love is so pure and real. Not to mention how awesome they are. There's a wonderful cast of supporting characters that really helped enrich the world and brought it to life. And yes, the world is so huge that it has plenty more story to it. I hope we might get some more on Kobal and River, but we did get a very good ending for their big story here.
