White Monarch #3

Violent Triumphs

Rate this book
'VIOLENT TRIUMPHS' is the highly anticipated conclusion to the “emotional, steamy, and dangerous” USA Today bestselling White Monarch series.

I’ve become a queen to the forsaken, a leader to thieves, and the wife of a man who instills fear in all who cross his path. He was the husband I didn’t want. Now, I can’t fathom life without my king.

I should’ve been ready for anything. Like the caterpillar that feeds on poison during metamorphosis, I was raised in the dangerous world of cartel crime. But nothing could’ve prepared me for Cristiano de la Rosa, his brother’s poison, or the Calavera cartel.

This is still a story about a love strong enough to topple households, unite enemies, and divide brothers. Resilient enough to bring down those who would try to destroy it . . . and selfless enough to make the ultimate sacrifice.

But I was warned, and so were you. Death’s day always comes. This time, it will find what was once a caterpillar is now a butterfly—and hell hath no fury like the White Monarch.

the only Christian for me is Christiano de la Rosa. <3

this was everything you could ever want in the first two books (but didnt get) and more - in terms of Natalias character development and the relationship between her and Christiano. as for the plot conclusion as a whole, i still feel pretty much the same as i was on my first read. favorite mafia romance series? yessss.

forever be my #1 mafia romance series.

one of my concerns when i started this series months ago was the age gap between Christiano and Natalia. now i dont even flinch at the fact that theyre both fourteen years apart in age. i still go on thinking i want to marry Christiano, lol. ive read many age gap romances with bigger age difference since then. now the idea of it actually kind of appeals to me. also, this author just knows how to make it work.

although this conclusion didnt go as i expected, im still reeling at what happened. i cant believe they did that to the mansion. the happily ever after was also one that i wasnt hoping for. not that im not glad with what they got. i just thought the whole point of this series was to make Christiano and Natalia the king and queen of the underworld cartel. so, im a little bummed. nonetheless, im quite satisfied and cant wait to re-read the whole series.

Bravo! Five Stars! Review to follow.

My review:

So, as I have stated in my other reviews of book one of this series and book two...AMAZING.

I cannot believe I loved this story so much. I cannot believe I am gloomy THAT IT IS OVER!!!

Jessica Hawkins...please hear my cry...we need more!!! Please!

This book is everything I would usually not read. I do not usually read series. I do not often read romance.

But I started book one. Almost DNFED because of the violence in the first chapter. Then I started again. And I was CONSUMED.

I have missed TOW NIGHTS OF SLEEP trying to finish this series and now I have!

This is the incredible and moving story of a Mexican Cartel family. It is also a love story.

It is engaging. That is to mellow a word. It ignites sparks! It is intense. It makes the reader one with the story. You are there.

Some of my all time favorite books seem as different as night and day but they all have one thing in common. And that is ATMOSPHERE. Atmosphere is a must for me. Briefly, I want to talk about three of my favorite books.

Three of my all time faves;

"A tree grows in Brooklyn". That is my favorite book. We are transported to Brooklyn. The story of love, loss and poverty remains, for me, my favorite book ever read.

"I Cleopatra". This story obviously is about the great Queen and takes place in Egypt. IN SOME OF THE BEST historical fiction, I have ever read, we are taken to the castle, the magnificence and beauty of Egypt and we are taken to the world of Cleopatra.

Finally, there is "The Witch of Blackbird Pond" a beautiful story about a young woman from Barbados who comes to New England knowing nothing about the Puritan culture she is about to become involved in. The atmosphere if New England is so strong you can smell the grass in the meadows and fields. It remains a remarkable story and in my top five of all time.

Now this story is violent and bloody and RAUNCHY. Lots of sex, people and lots of corny lines. I will admit...A bit to corny for me and I consider myself someone who has no problem with smut in books, if used for the right purposes but man! This was a bit much.

But I loved it for the same reasons I loved the above mentioned three books.

We are THERE. In Mexico. We are listening to Mariachi music and we are in the villas and the nightclub and we are with Natalia and Cristiano through their long and violent journey.

I ADORED this book. I could not and cannot stop thinking about it.

ENDING SPOILERS:

I wish that they had told Costa the truth. I do not like to think of him thinking his daughter is dead. He had suffered so much loss already. To much.

Not enough to take a star off though. The star is really for all three books. I gave the first two fours but the conclusion was just...I cannot believe I loved this series so much. Best of the year so far. READ IT PEOPLE!

PS: For anyone who HAS read it and knows of a book or books that resemble this one please post them below!

This trilogy is going down as one of my favorites of the year! All three books were full of secrets, sexual tension, and edge of your seat suspense! I loved the "White Monarch" series and am honestly glad that I waited until all three books were out before diving in! I feel for all of you readers out there that had to wait after the cliffhangers for the next book to come out!

Even though I so badly want to say so much about what went on in the story, and the romance and sexual tension between Natalia and her man...I don't want to ruin the surprise for the readers that haven't read these books yet. I was glad that I hadn't read a bunch of reviews before reading this...I liked going in blind and not having any idea of what was going on. I will say that I had a hunch about who was good and who was bad etc...and I was definitely right!!! My only complaint with this last story was that the ending didn't feel right to me. I found myself wanting a different ending. It wasn't bad, but for some reason I expected MORE?!!! That's just my opinion though, and maybe I'm the only person that felt it fell somewhat flat.

This is a trilogy that I highly recommend!!! It is the perfect time to read it now as all the books are out and you can read them back to back...This means that the cliffhanger in book two, will not be as brutal now that the conclusion is finally out!!! I'm now very intrigued to go back and read some of Jessica Hawkins other books...I love her style of writing and would be interested to see if her other stories are as brilliant as these ones are.

Violent Triumphs is the long awaited conclusion to the White Monarch Trilogy. We’ve seen the crazy ups and downs, deception, danger, alliances being built and watching a couple fall in love throughout a chaos. This series gave us a bit of everything and even though i was expecting things to go a little differently, I still enjoyed this series overall.

Picking up right where Violent Ends left us with heart stopping cliffhanger, Natalia and Cristiano are facing threats from every angle while trying to continue running their empire and staying on top. Natalia went from being a princess to a Queen and having the love and devotion to one of the most powerful man in Mexico. Their union started off rocky but they always had respect for each other and it showed in their actions going forward.

Violent-Triumphs-Teaser-1.jpg

I like the fact that this series gave us a taste of the underground cruel world to the Cartel business and this author did a really good job of showing us some of the day by day operation and the sacrifices that were done in order to be a part of that kind of lifestyle. I was never a fan of the heroine if I’m being completely honest but she was tolerable for this final chapter and I liked that she held her own in certain situations.

Cristiano was the epitome of a bad MOFO and I loved that he gave it his all in everything. He loved with a passion that you couldn’t fake, he protected the people around him like his life depended on it, and he ruled his empire with grit and a determination that made you had no doubt about why he was a King.

I have to say that I was expecting a bit more from this final book and I was a little disappointed with some of the outcomes and OTT cheesy lines. I wanted to see more retaliations and know about a few more characters and what was going to happen moving forward and I didn’t really get that. But putting that aside, I liked how the author put a few things into play and she gave us a ending that was best for the story overall and I appreciated that.

If you haven’t started this series yet, it’s definitely worth a try to start it.

Natalia de la Rosa was raised around danger, but nothing could prepare her for her new life as the wife of Cristiano de la Rosa. She was deep in the cartel world as the queen of the Calavera cartel, and adjusting to being Calavera royalty. Over time she was becoming physically, mentally, and emotionally stronger. Secrets and answers are revealed, and she begins to question everything she thought she knew, including her husband.

 photo FE09199D-FFA7-4B46-9A3B-F5D02CE1FBB2_zpsgjfr8snz.jpg

The monster she once thought was her enemy is slowly changing before her eyes into something more. Suddenly the man who instills fear in everyone who crosses his path, makes her feel safe and protected. As the electricity between then ignites, she’s conflicted with so many emotions. Soon he’s shredded the last of her willpower to resist him, and nothing can prepare her for when the heat between them turns into an inferno as their explosive chemistry finally erupts. Now Natalia can’t imagine a life without him. Will they get their happy ending, or is it too late?

 photo 0633F4D7-1A57-4387-B10E-822CE7EF03DD_zpsxc4q8nvc.jpg

-Heat had been smoldering between Cristiano and me since the start, and each time we struck against each other like flint, we came dangerously close to setting fire to everything around us.

-Getting to know the innerworkings of Cristiano's mind, heart, and soul wasn't a task for the faint-hearted. Wondering what I'd find scared me- but not enough to pull back.

Violent Triumphs is book three in the White Monarch series by Jessica Hawkins. It’s the thrilling, mind blowing, epic conclusion to the passionate, intense, emotional enemies to lovers story about two people destined for one another. I absolutely adored this series, and this book was everything I wanted, and more!!! Cristiano is swoony, dark perfection, and Natalia is fierce. It’s a roller coaster ride of twists and turns full of suspense, betrayal, family, vendettas, angst, action, emotion, and the most beautiful, breathtaking love!

My Thoughts...
I've gone back and forth with this review for a few days now. It's been very hard to get my feelings out and to explain myself, so please, bear with me. I willingly admit that the six month break in between the second and third book caused me to forget a few details - so some things coming out later, I had to jingle my brain a bit. I didn't hate this book, but I didn't love it.

Only could I/would I be willing to allow my favorite author to test my reading comfort with regards to an arranged/forced marriage or marriage of convenience - my least favorite trope out there. Hmmm...Tell me a story, Jessica. I'll listen. I happily go into every one of her books with an open mind because I know how she pulls at my emotions, spoon-feeds me angst, and delivers an epic love story worthy of a book hangover. Never once have I questioned what I know her books can do to me. With the first two books sucking me in with mystery and intrigue, this one was sure to give me all the feels. I was sure of it. Unfortunately, I didn't get any of the feelings that Jessica is known for giving me. I just didn't. What’s most frustrating is that I didn’t love this book, but what’s equally frustrating is that I didn’t get the book hangover everyone else did. I just felt....underwhelmed, and that saddens me beyond my own understanding.

“You make me lose control.”
----
“And you make me powerful when others would have me powerless.”

I will say, this final book showed a cool, calm and collected Cristiano - but he was very calculated. He had a seriousness to him that I cannot even begin to imagine; way beyond my comprehension. What a heaviness to digest at all times. Individually, Cristiano was amazing. Natalia was strong. Diego was always a douche. Costa loved his daughter so hard. His Princessa, his baby girl. Barto and Alejo and Pilar have a story and I need it ASAP - please explore that one!! There were so many elements working for this book and it was a busy and fantastic storyline.

But let me dig a little deeper.

Cristiano made me smile. He was the man that you know will always have your back. He took care of everything. He was the unwavering strength in the dark, unknown abyss of an ever-changing world of the cartel and he made sure to take care of his own. Oh, and he had a mouth worth craving. I did like his naughty tongue. I loved every single thing about him. Even the softer side of him that buckled to Natalia's desires. Natalia, herself, was a brat. Straight up brat. sigh But Natalia grew on me. Slowly. Very slowly. I know I have to keep in mind that she was only 20, so I can't hate her. But, what I ended up feeling the most conflicted about her character was the change from an insolent child to a queen, seemingly overnight. She didn’t settle, but you can’t all of the sudden grow into a queen if you’ve never tried on the crown. While Natalia irked me in the past two books, I could understand where she was coming from and I knew she would grow, so the buildup that Cristiano’s gruff determination promised me made me fall in love with their dynamic. Yes, I realize the circumstances dictated this change in her confidence, but I struggled with that because for two books, I saw one side of her and then the switch was flipped immediately - and voila! She was a strong, confident woman standing beside her powerful man. Maybe it was the nature of the circumstance that made her "realize" this, but I definitely understood why Jaz questioned her loyalty and truthfulness.

With the extravagance of circumstances surrounding them, I knew there was going to be some things happening that I wouldn't know about, like behind the scenes activities and such. I mean, it's a world I hope to never encounter, so I definitely read on with wonder and Jessica didn't spare any details when it came to building this empire for Cristiano and Natalia. What I didn't appreciate was Diego's role in this book, nor did I understand the ending AT ALL. Like, at all. I didn't understand why Cristiano made it a black and white decision for her, and then changed the plan. That was completely out of character to me, so I had a hard time compartmentalizing this change. The adrenaline rush of the last 25% was fast and almost felt too uneven for me. I was excited, anxious, and all around nervous for what was going to happen - which is the best when your head is spinning with possibilities!! I knew Cristiano was The Devil in disguise.....or no disguise, but he was evil and exacted revenge with precision, so I couldn't deny that I was intrigued with his actions and how he handled certain scenarios.

"There's only the underworld for people like us. But down here, we don't burn. We rule."

Some of the analogies were....interesting, but the way she told the story was definitely in-depth, down to the most minute of details. She was quite articulate as Cristiano amassed a world of chaos and destruction within, all the while including a love that was indestructible. Trust me, I know that Jessica's writing is superb. I've read every book and have walked away star-struck each and every time. But I was looking for more with this one. I was hoping for an ending that made me scream and feel like I needed to jump around and discuss this. In the end, it just felt...done. That’s never happened with one of her books. Ever. This does NOT mean I don't want to read the probable spinoffs from the other characters in this world. On the contrary. I am looking forward to exploring more. I couldn’t stop turning the pages and I couldn’t put it down, no denying the pull it had. But...overall, it ended without flair for me.

I’m very sad that I didn’t get the book hangover that was promised me and I’m sad that I feel so blah about it. That’s probably the most heartbreaking part for me, seeing as this is my favorite author and I’ve never given her a low rating before. I wanted to savor the ending as a book hangover. I wanted to be stuck in a love that held me captive and held me back from moving on. I don’t feel like I got that. Was it good? Hell yeah! It was well written. It was a great ending. But, based on all the glowing reviews, this is just a me thing - obviously.

It is NO secret. I don't hide it. I can't deny it. I love Jessica Hawkins' books. She is my #1 author out of my Top 5 Favorite Authors. Constantly. Continually. Jessica does trilogies well. Jessica does epic love stories well. Jessica writes her men exceptionally well. I love Jessica's books. I can't say it enough. So it bothers me to no end that this one didn't wow me like I was anticipating. This one, I built it up so much in my head, and the first two books ramped up this story to the point that it couldn't go any way other than fantastically amazing. I’m heartbroken that I didn’t love this one. Heartbroken. For this reason, I am giving this book a 3.5 STAR review. Too much didn't work for me to love it, but it was still a great story.

"Don't mistake strategy for weakness."

3.5 ⭐'s

I was very much looking forward to seeing how things got resolved with Cristiano and Natalia and especially what mayhem Diego would come up with.

What I wasn't expecting was all the corny, over the top lines. They were sooo bad. I've listed a few...they don't quite have the same impact taken out of context but you will still get the gist...

"But there's more to being a queen than sitting on the king's scepter."

"Give me that nectar only good enough for a god; let an unworthy man into the depths of Heaven."

"When I take your ass, it will be to send us both to the moon."

"Maybe a week later, I'd given her a chicken dinner when I'd jammed El Gallo down her throat--and she'd cleaned her plate."

"I don't control where the rooster crows."

Seriously, it was almost enough to make me stop reading but my curiosity got the best of me...thank goodness.

Because at 65% that all changed and things got really good. I enjoyed every minute until the ending. It was just too unbelievable and nothing I expected Cristiano and Natalia to do.

NO WORDS CAN EXPLAIN HOW AMAZING THIS STORY WAS.
I fell in love with this series the moment I read book one. There was no gradual connection for me and these characters, it was instantaneously. I can say whole heartedly, I’m not a fan of series. They just aren’t my jam anymore, but sometimes you come across a series that you aren’t bored with by the middle of book 2. THIS IS THAT SERIES.

Christiano. My heart. This man. I cannot even describe how incredible he was. Natalia this woman showed the hell up. I have loved her in all the books but she grew into this unstoppable queen that took this book to the next level.

THE PASSION. THE CRAZE. THE ACTION. THE TWISTS AND TURNS AND THAN MORE PASSION.

Gah, I cannot get this story out of my head. I’m so sad it’s over. It was everything I Could have dreamed up. Jessica’s writing is phenomenal. It’s like reading a new to me author. I loved the way she ended things it was so right. So perfect.

If you haven’t read this series you are seriously missing out. MUST READ. FAVORITE 2019 READS, BY FAR.

All I can say is WOW! Jessica has managed to stun me with this Jaw-dropping finale book to the White Monarch series. It's a remarkable transformation of a princess to a Queen. An epitome of Beauty, Brains and balls-Natalia grows in stature and power in this book
“You are the White Monarch.
Don’t you see that?
You’re the weapon, the survivor, the killer. You can do this.”

description

The writing was racy & dynamic. Constantly changing Scenarios at breakneck speed, kept the bite of thrill in the air. So many twists and turns almost blindsided me with role reversals of heroes and villains. Natalia had to learn fast whose side her loyalties lay and trust placed.
“I wouldn’t be allowed in Heaven, but I swear on all that’s holy—I’d rattle the gates until they let me have you.”
I loved Christian De La Roca in this book. His personality swelled to fill the pages, achieving omnipotence and omnipresence. His wrath matched his passion, exacting revenge as ruthlessly as he could love wholeheartedly, he was a power to reckon with and not to be messed with. But most of all his support and encouragement for Natalia just floored me. He was grooming her, training her, nurturing her to take her rightful place by his side as Queen of Badlands.

description

“I’ve waited for you to stop acting like a princess and start thinking like a queen.”
“Nothing less would do for my king.”
“I wasn’t a king until you came along. Me coronaste. You crowned me.”

It was heartening to see their love blossom and bloom against the backdrop of looming danger, because it is a love story after all. The buildup and the sizzle of their chemistry was electrifying and Jessica has put in just the right amount of teasing flirtations but quickly follows it up with intense, foundation breaking, love making. Holy hell the sex was off the charts hot!!🔥
"This was what I’d always needed. Not to be coddled and pacified with Diego’s flat, emotionless, stupid-as-fuck poetry. I’d take the raw and profane from Cristiano over lifeless prose any day. I’d take his fast and hard screw over Diego’s sniveling lovemaking."

description

Side characters provide momentum, keep things moving and interest occupied
Costa Cruz was on his way out of the Cartel, but the old lion still can roar.
Alejandro and Pilar should get their own book, I feel.
I have been engrossed, consumed and completely owned by this story ever since it started, one of my favorites by Jessica for sure.
Heady tale of intoxicating love and dizzying passion, this series will stay with you for a long time.

4 STARS!

Pics-Art-09-26-07-20-12

Violent Triumphs, the final installment to the White Monarch trilogy by Jessica Hawkins was exhilarating!

Violent Triumphs begins right at the edge of the cliff where Violent Ends left us!

Natalia has completely changed from the previous books. She is no longer the naive, fragile, obnoxious woman she was in the prior two books. Now she's fierce. Now she's a fighter. Natalia proves herself worthy of standing by Cristiano's side and ruling as his Queen 👑.

Cristiano has been to hell and back, fighting the dark underbelly of the cartel world. He will stop at nothing until he saves as many people as he can from the Belmonte-Ruiz cartel. He's such a sexy bada**. There is no doubt why he is King 👑

"I’d thought he was the enemy— but maybe he never had been."

Cristiano and Natalia had a rollercoaster of a relationship. It was a bit rocky in the beginning but soon it turned passionate. Natalia's feelings for Cristiano bloomed with time and watching their relationship transform was consuming.

Truths and secrets come to light in this action packed trilogy. Power. Betrayal. Greed. A labyrinth of twists and turns. This is hands down a binge-worthy trilogy!!

HANDS DOWN, THE BEST SERIES OF THE YEAR!
Violent Triumphs is the epic conclusion of the White Monarch series.

Cristiano and Natalia's love story is just as beautiful as it is scary.
After everything she went through, since the beginning, Natalia finally saw what was right in front of her eyes and from the sheltered young woman she was, she became a strong woman. A fighter! A queen for her king!
All the doubts are cleared, the secrets revealed and the slow burn extinguished.

I'm keeping this review short because this is one of those series you need to go in blind. Pick it up and binge read on my favorite series of 2019!

Title: Violent Triumph (White Monarch #3)
Author: Jessica Hawkins

I think the pearly gates opened and the angels started singing when this book finally landed in my kindle.

I don't know how you do what you do Jessica Hawkins but you have ruined me! Did you hear me? You have RUINED me with this series.
Violent Triumph so much better than I expected it to be and let me tell you, I already had high hopes. Saying this book was ridiculously steamy and dangerous would be putting it mildly.

Violent Triumph is without a doubt my favourite book from this series. I loved that while the other two books left me wanting more..this book consumed me. This book was like a high stake poker game where you go 'all in'... psstf..why am I even using poker as a example when I don't even play poker. This book will ruin all your brain cells is what it will do. hahaha

unnamed-10.jpg

I love the character development in this book.
I love how Natalia evolved through this series and this book really made her shine.
Cristiano de la Rosa.... You have conquered this heart of mine. *sigh* ❤️
I love his viciousness and his dangerous aura. But I LOVE his tenderness and the way he loves Natalia the most.

unnamed-11.jpg

Voilent triumph is SEXY as hell. There is a difference between steamy and STEAMY...This book is the latter. You want danger? This book serve it to you on a silver platter. You want chemistry that will make you feel like the pages will burn? This book should come with a warning because I had to stop a couple of times while reading as this reader (though I've so read so many romance books) stopped breathing.

Voilent Triumph was the most epic conclusion to this series. I am honestly a little sad that there wouldn't be more because I have fallen head over heels in love with these characters. These characters are far from perfect but dammit they rule over my heart.

“Love is, “I’d die for you.”
Not, “Would you die for me?”

fuck me was this good. literally -0.25 for dragging this shit out and -0.25 for not making me cry (because they had me fooled but the chapter ended before my tears started)

i loved this book. this was everything books 1 and 2 didn't have. literally the chemistry, romance, plot, character development. why tf did i have to suffer through the first 2 books to finally get what i want.

i was never bored while reading this, i was actually so excited because god this is where everything went down. istg by the time natalia FINALLY realized that they've been telling her the truth i turned a whole ass 20 years older LMAO. i kept saying "i told you so" as if she can hear me.

cristiano my fucking love. this man is the man of my dreams. he literally is the hottest man alive. some of the things he said that should convince you to read this series (yes even tho its the third book, please suffer with me):

“Nobody would get away with hurting you. I’d raise hell to avenge you, and if that meant risking my life to achieve it, I wouldn’t hesitate.”

“I wouldn’t be allowed in Heaven, but I swear on all that’s holy—I’d rattle the gates until they let me have you.”

“Give me that nectar only good enough for a god; let an unworthy man into the depths of Heaven.”

“Nobody knows the medicine I need. Get on. Put me inside you; it will heal me. And if it doesn’t, it will give me something to live for.”

i need a cristiano de la rosa in my life please i would pay in cash💳💥💳💥💳

The long-awaited and anticipated conclusion to the White Monarch Series is finally here, and I took my time and savored it. Jessica’s words in Violent Triumphs are poignant and beautiful, emotional and steamy, shocking and intense; full of poetry and metaphors. They weaved their way into my inner soul and showed me a love like no other. Her references to the monarch throughout the series, and especially in book 3, totally captured my heart. Their love affair will forever reside inside me, and I will remember this book for years to come. The whole series has been inspiring, dramatic, and suspenseful. Author Jessica Hawkins has once again written what can only be described as a masterpiece.

Cristiano has loved Natalia since she was a child, and now he loves her as a woman, as his queen, as the love of his life. As Cristiano patiently waits for Natalia to see the truth and to trust in his feelings for her, he guides her and molds her into the queen she was born to become. He turns her into the woman she doesn’t even know she needs to be. She is strong and fierce and well prepared for the journey they are about to embark upon.

As Natalia awakens to her new truth and her true feelings are revealed to both herself and Cristiano, she became one of my favorite heroines. She rose from a naïve child to a powerful woman prepared to stand by and die by her man.

Throughout the series, readers craved more than anything, to see Cristiano and Natalia finally become a true couple. And thought the wait was sometimes painful, it was always intense, it was always there just beneath the surface waiting for the perfect moment, and Jessica found it.
Cristiano is a lover like no other. He is gentle and slow yet harsh and animalistic. He is in tune with Natalia and knows what she needs even when she doesn’t know herself. He forces her to face her desires and ask for what she wants, ask for what she needs! He loves her like no one else ever could or would. Every word out of Cristiano’s mouth urged me on, brought me to my knees with the way his love for Natalia shone through his brutal reality.

Only Natalia, his queen, had the power to bring Cristiano to his knees. Only Natalia could stand by his side and rule their kingdom. Cristiano and Natalia are faced with violent circumstances and the toughest choices. They give power to each other through their eyes, they support each other through everything, they are a power-couple.

Violent Triumphs has one of the most heartbreaking and inspiring endings of any book I’ve ever read. The dramatic scenes, the surprising events, the heart-wrenching choices, the sadness, the love, and the tears I shed and the smile that finally broke free. Those last few chapters put me through the wringer. My husband caught glimpses of me as I read and his comment says it all, “It must be a good book. I can see it in your face.”

This book, this series was truly amazing, and I can’t wait to sit back and enjoy it all again. It’s definitely one to be re-read now that the series is complete.

Natalia de la Rosa has embraced her role as Calavera cartel royalty, as the wife of Cristiano de la Rosa she is expected to be able to rule and care for the people just as Cristiano does. Cristiano is set on proving his innocence though and has put himself, his team, and Natalia in danger's way. It is only the training that Natalia and the others have received that saves them, but it reveals to everyone in the Calavera that they are not as impenetrable as they once thought. The danger pushes Natalia and Cristiano together and through their relationship they are able to uncover the secrets once buried in order to end things once and for all.

"It was, finally, the first indication that she could find a way to love me."

Violent Triumphs is the final novel in the White Monarch trilogy and it packs a punch. Filled with action and passion, Violent Triumphs takes readers just a bit into the future and presents to us a changed Natalia. She is uncovering the Cristiano we've always known and rooted for, giving readers the relationship we've long waited for. It isn't all romance though, the passion they share burns like fire, it's a push and pull, a testing of strengths and wills. I loved watching them each pull their walls down, revealing to one another their truths and the emotions they've long held onto. It made the entire series worth it. Cristiano is as cocky and alpha as ever and Natalia is finally the strong woman we've wanted her to be.

"If there'd been any question about whether I could learn to follow the devil . . . I had my answer."

More than the relationship development, I enjoyed the action and story line closure in Violent Triumphs the most. Jessica Hawkins has taken us on a roller-coaster in this trilogy, filling the pages with bloodshed, half truths, and deceit. Violent Triumphs not only closes out a difficult chapter in Natalia's life, it answers every question readers have had with great detail and imaginative scenes. It isn't a short, quick read, it takes us all over Mexico with surprises at every turn. It is a fantastic conclusion to the trilogy; filled with character development, danger, and plenty of heat.

For starters this book is impossible to review and mention any plot points without massive spoilers so I will try and be vague while still telling you why it landed for me. But for the record this picks up directly after the action of book two so we don’t miss a thing.

Now it should be said this series is dark. It’s gritty and it makes its own case for just why this world is like that and how deeply in the shades of grey they live. So if that isn’t your jam you won’t like this. However if you can hack it this series is fire.

There is a ton of character growth in this book, and it’s magical to see. These aren’t “good people” yet we root for them again and again. They are complicated and compelling and the whole story mixes danger with a fantastical whimsy like it’s this other world while also being depressing real. The descriptions for everything painted a clear and stunning picture one minute and a crystal disgusting image the next.

For enjoyment and ease of reading alone it’s five stars but another five stars for being a book about bad people that still wraps you up and makes sure you are invested.

Omg....it was a fucking amazing conclusion!!
I loved White Monarch series.I don't know what to say....I'm literally speechless!!!It was perfect, mind-blowing and surely a fucking awesome read!!
Natalia aka Lourdes was such a fierce, strong character!!! Cristiano what a Alpha male, I loved him from the start of the series!! White Monarch series for me was a roller coaster journey, full of twists! It had a lot suspense, betrayal, vendettas, angst, emotion, it was fast paced and on top of all it had a breathtaking love!💜💟💜

“I wouldn’t be allowed in Heaven, but I swear on all that’s holy—I’d rattle the gates until they let me have you.”

I CANNOT BELIEVE IT’S OVER!

Once again, Jessica Hawkins held me captivated for almost an entire year with a series. Everything about this world of the cartel was intriguing, and she brought it to life so vividly.

And the characters—I was hopelessly twisted up in them from the start. Cristiano—be still my heart—he is EVERYTHING! His love and protectiveness of Natalia was unwavering. Endless.

With Natalia I’m happy to say, she grew on me. I absolutely LOVED her in Violent Triumphs! She stepped up, listened to her heart, and became the queen I’d hoped she would. Her attitude, sass, and strength kicked this part of their story up a notch.

The full-out passion and action in this installment kept me glued to the pages. You could FEEL the emotions that come with surrendering to desire, love, and the discovery of betrayal.

Violent Triumphs was an enthralling conclusion to the White Monarch series. Perfection. I’m so incredibly happy with how it ended, but also sad that it ended at all. And Cristiano de la Rosa now sits on a throne, like the king he is, as one of my TOP FAVORITE literary heroes.

White Monarch trilogy is complete and Jessica Hawkins takes out with a bang This last installment is my favorite of the trilogy.
It has the right amount of tenderness, romance, sweetenes, hotness, sexiness, action and revelations.

The buildup in the first 2 installments was real!!! Definitely getting us ready for the story of Cristiano and Natalia and what would or wouldn't be.

There were 2 elements in this book that I didn't like but I won't say because #SPOILER....I will say this:
One was an eye rolling moment and the other was "I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE DID THAT" but it's not my story *shrug*

Overall I enjoyed this one very much!

⭐️ 5+ "Mi Amor" Stars ⭐️
Where do I start with Violent Triumphs? It seems impossible to write a review worthy of this brilliant novel! It felt like I waited forever for this final installment in the White Monarch Trilogy and when I finally received my copy I devoured it fervently! I was hooked by Natalia and Cristiano’s story all read long. Jessica Hawkins once again revealed her huge talent with a romance brimming with love, violence, intrigue, heartbreak, deception and all the in between! I was hypnotized wholly by this couple’s undecided fate!

It’s not a secret that since Violent Delights, I’ve been completely infatuated with Cristiano! His dark aura and alphaness, mixed with his protectiveness over Natalia is omnipresent and so enticing. He’s a cold man to the outside world, but with his woman he softens and shows signs of tenderness. He couldn’t be more perfect with his complex clashing personality of good and bad! The temptation between his wife and him is more than ever reaching unexplored levels of passion. There’s just so much sparks between them and the way they finally surrender to their attraction is explosive! These two are fire, but also radiating beauty! I was breathless for their devotion to each other!

As much as Cristiano is the essence of alpha hero and so attractive as a protagonist, Natalia demonstrates more than ever that she’s his true queen; his perfect match! That woman is fierce and the only person that can bring him to his knees. She’s not the fragile, innocent girl she was raised to be. She’s showing her real potential as a cartel wife and it’s incredible! She doesn’t bow to Cristiano’s demands and goes head to head with him, proving that she’s his equal! Seriously these two had me in awe with their commitment to each other and my heart was so full with their powerful love!

As much as the development of their relationship as husband and wife is one of the most gripping aspect of this book, the intrigue and suspense is also very alluring! With the rival cartels making threats and trying to gain power with manipulation and secret attacks, I was completely addicted to the action. The surprises and gruesome events are piling up through the novel and make it unputdownable!

Jessica Hawkins couldn’t have concluded the White Monarch Trilogy in a better way! Violent Triumphs is the best in the series and one of my favorite read this year! It’s another little jewel you need to read ASAP. This book is the whole package! I won’t forget Natalia, Cristiano and the whole cast of characters easily! They’re engraved in my heart!
