There are 3 short stories in this book. There is Jackson's story, Cassie's story and Sophia and her twin brother Marcos's story. These are background stories for The Drive Series books.
Jackson was raise amish in Illinois amish country. Desperate to give Jackson a sibling his mother endures 4 stillbirth. He leaves home after the anguish of his mother's last pregnancy. He enlist in the US Army. Where he is sent into combat, sees his best friends killed in action and becomes a POW. He is held captive for years before he suffers a mental breakdown. He comes back home after finally being freed to find his first love only to find out she is not there
Cassie grow up on a farm boarding Amish country. She was the 7th daughter out of 8. She dressed up on evening as an amish girl to go to a amish barn party. She meet a young man named Samuel. They became intimate and she got pregnant. She fell causing the loss of the baby. Her parents kicked her out of the home because they didn't want her to be a bad influence on her baby sister. Her father did however rent her an apartment but she had to finish school for him to continue to pay for it. She meet Taylor at a party her neighbor Jenny was having. 2 years later her sister Jael moved in with her. Jael went to a party and met Jackson whom she hit in the head with the car door, bring jackson home to Cassie's apartment. When Jackson leaves for the army. He and Cassie has a week long affair. She again gets pregnant. She names him Bartholomew Matthew.
Sophia and Marco's was born in 1953 and place up for adoption in Saint Vincent's Orphanage in Chicago Il. Their lives would be so different from each others. Sophia was adopted by Arnorld and Suzi Prim in the summer of '53. Marcos would be raised by the nuns at St. Vincent.
Sophia started having visions of events of the future at the tender age of 7. Several weeks after her first vision Suzi was in a serious accident that would change the family's lives forever.
Marcos was raised by the nuns, some of whom felt that there was something sinister about him. He was easily bored, and learn to fix things by closing his eyes and seeing what the problem was. At 17 he began working at Sullivan's Meats. He also started having a dream about a young lady at a faucet getting water. Shortly after this dream he signed up for the Army.
