Laura is a sweet and wholesome American historical romance set in New York’s Hudson River Valley in the 1830s. If you like strong female characters, roguish heroes, and 19th Century adventure tales, you’ll love Jean Jacobsen’s latest novel.

A beautiful love story well worth the read. Charles and Laura share an innocent kiss They’re told they need to marry to save face. How will it turn out for them?
Laura and Charles have been friends for a long time and she feels that she can talk with him anytime about almost anything. His life is planned and very regimented, while hers is a somewhat fly by the seat of your pants existence. However, she has finally convinced him to show her "KISSING"! To afford them some privacy they head Into in her father's (now her brother's) study. From this point everything heads forward at a lightening pace. What will happen to these two as friends if they continue forward in a wedding that neither want. A sweet, clean romance. I received an ARC copy of this book. This is my voluntary, honest and completely personal review. VICKI FROM WYOMING.
A very enjoyable story of two people who were friends forced into a marriage and what their future could be. This story of Laura and Charles captured my heart. It is true to the time period and the characters are realistic.I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a review.
This is a fun and breezy read that centers around one of my favorite tropics ever--a marriage of circumstance which eventually becomes a marriage of the heart. I haven't read the other books in the series yet but this one can certainly stand alone! Sweet and wholesome and enjoyable.
