Passions flare when duty confronts ambition…

Kace Jaager, former Army archaeologist, now Superintendent of Fort America National Park, has a duty to preserve and protect the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the United States.

Madison Danes, ambitious CEO of Danergy Mining & Hydraulics, has a government contract to conduct fracking on federal land at Fort America National Park.

Passions flare as ideologies collide. Yet uncontrollable attraction compels a truce in bed. Opposites may attract, but can they put politics aside to form a more perfect union?

Resistance is an enemies-to-lovers seasoned romance with a 53-year-old silver fox hero and a 42-year-old heroine in her prime. The short novel is part of the Common Elements Romance Project, where over one hundred romance authors have come together to write stories with five things in common. Stories are not connected in any way, except for having five elements: a lightning storm, lost keys, a haunted house, a stack of thick books, and a person named Max.

Resistance captured my attention from the beginning and kept it throughout. The characters are well defined and have amazing chemistry together even though they are on opposite sides of the fracking issue. The storyline is well written and flows nicely.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved it!

Resistance is a well written political, suspense romance novel, for me a 3.5, nearly a 4 rating as explained below.

An energy & mining company is lobbying for the fracking rights on Federal government National Park lands. MMC/Kace Jaager is the superintendent of Fort America National Park, the park targeted and the FMC is Madison Dane, CEO of the mining company maneuvering to win those fracking rights. This is an enemies-to-lovers trope novel with background legislation politics, lobbying, political favor trading, vote wooing, etc. When I began reading Resistance, I had hoped it would read more like an archeological action adventure novel with a small “side” of politics. This was more politics and issues based than I prefer. Readers who do enjoy both political romance novels and the enemies-to-lovers trope, however, may truly love Resistance.

I liked and admired the main character Kace; he had beliefs and ethics and stood by them. He is someone I would love to meet at a party and get to know. Plus, he is Hot! :D In comparison, Madison had daddy, rich-girl issues and seemed confused in both her motivations and her real identity. She works through some of this throughout the novel but in my opinion, she still needs additional work. Enemies-to-lovers is not my typical preference but I believed the dynamics between Kace and Madison. Neither compromised their beliefs, which I find important, and the attraction felt natural and real.

As a final note, the main characters in Resistance have Hot & Steamy sexual intimacy which is part of their relationship. In addition, the MMCs language is frequently profane and occasionally blasphemous. Readers who find this offensive would probably not enjoy Resistance.

This was my first time reading a book by Regina Kammer and it was an awesome read! The plot, character, and word usage were awesome. The author hooked me form the beginning and I couldn't stop. I loved Kace and Madison they were so interesting to watch and I enjoyed watching them grow together. It's a fast paced easy enemies to lovers steamy romance. I Love Regina's writing style it kept my interest and I couldn't put it down her words flow effortlessly throughout the pages. I won't give away any spoilers but to say this is a story you don't want to miss. I loved every word and highly recommend this book.

Regina Kammer is an excellent writer who can put a political hot potato as the central conflict of her story and not offend anyone, including her characters. Her hero and heroine, who, by the way, are a little older in this story, are on opposite sides of the fracking issue. But their instant attraction keeps throwing them together as each tries to make the other understand their point of view.

This is a super hot story with lots of explicit sex, strong characters who are poles apart, both in background and politics, and an ending that made me cry. It's the first book of the Common Elements Romance project that I've read and I loved it.

This is the first book by this Author that I have read, a well written story that had me on the edge of my seat. An enemies to lovers story between 53-year-old silver fox Kace Jaager and 42-year-old Madison Danes had me rooting for these two. I enjoyed reading and will now be looking for more by her.
