I don’t usually like sequels as much as the original, but I feel Retribution was the perfect follow-up to Redemption. I was already familiar with the characters and their history, but Retribution had a new and exciting story. Many authors draw out their scene descriptions, but I especially like the way Ms. Baldi’s imageries are just enough for you to feel like you are there. In other scenes I’m allowed to use my imagination. On several occasions I was more than surprised at the twists as the plot thickened. I envisioned a totally different direction but kudos for the unpredictable ending. Because Retribution has a good, strong story it doesn’t need to resort to foul language and explicit scenes to hold the reader’s interest. This book is page turner and one I read in two days.

As with the previous book in this series, this story is far too contrived to be realistic, and that's a disappointing distraction for me, but it is quite captivating. I like the main characters and Amy Deuchler's excellent narration brings authenticity and believability to these characters.

Note: I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

4.5 star - I love the writing style and storytelling of Ms. Baldi. This is the second of the series. The story continues the path of Nick and his family and the long standing revenge of Carmela. This is a fast paced read and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough in anticipation of the what would happen next. The characters and development of the story lines is so well done you can't help but like them. Can't wait to start the third in the series Reckoning.

This is the second book in the trilogy. What a great read. It was fast paced and didn't drag on. The character were so well thought out and ingaging. It was interesting and kept my interest through the whole book. It was a smooth read and kept you wanting to see what was next. It had action, family, loyalty, and intrigue. When I finished the first book I couldn't wait to read the next, now that I finished this one I am ready to read the next and already have it. I recommend this series to all!

Suspense builds in Stephanie Baldi’s follow up novel, Retribution.

Nick D’Angelo is forced, by the US government, to move his family from their safe, Tuscan compound to South Dakota to resume his life as a paid assassin. Forced to leave for months at a time, he fears for the lives of his wife and children. With good reason.

Carmela Santiago is out for revenge. Having witnessed Nick, the man she loved, kill her father, she seeks to hold him and his entire family, responsible. The plan begins with seducing the son of Nick’s wife, Carrie. Invited by Bobby to spend Thanksgiving with his mother and siblings, Carmela recruits Nick’s confidant and long-time family bodyguard, to help exact her revenge.

While I purchased the Kindle download, like the first novel, Redemption, this is a page turner. I almost got finger burns swiping my tablet!

Excellent, detailed, yet fast paced writing, unforgettable characters, and distinctive, yet believable storyline, are expertly displayed in this series. The third and (I’m told) final installment is slated for release in 2020. I can’t wait!

This Amazing thriller is the second book in the sequel by Stephanie Baldi. After reading Redemption, I had to attend the book signing for Retribution to see her in person and get both of my books signed. It takes alot to capture my attention and I found myself getting into the book and getting excited during the first chapter. I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN.! I can't wait for her third book .
I also just ordered the audible on both her books so that I can sit back and listen to these books again. I can't wait for the third to come out so that I can find out what happens to all the characters in the end.
Stephanie is an amazing author and I am not surprised by her winnings and nominations for author of the year. I would suggest this trilogy to everyone.
