A beautiful thief and a savage half-orc warrior are an unlikely team, but they may just be the royal investigators the kingdom needs Three books and over 250,000 words of magic and mayhem, action and adventure fill this fun, fast-paced epic sword and sorcery fantasy thriller boxed set.
When the attacks started, Prince Astar hired an investigator to solve the crimes. When the third investigator went missing he knew he had to try something different. He decided to hire Kyra, a smart and sassy woman, who also happens to be a thief. Kyra wants the job, it pays well and is far more interesting than sneaking around and copying people’s signatures. But she has no intention of being the fourth dead investigator, so she needs protection. Kyra turns to the one man even mercenaries fear: Bazur, a solitary mercenary half-orc, infamous for his barroom brawls. Together they might solve the problem of the mysterious attacks on the prince's associates, but only if they can ignore the building chemistry between them and survive the attacks on their lives!
I really like some of the characters and the author has some original ideas. But I can't get past some of the poirly written parts. Stunted speech, words repeated in the same paragraph instead of synonyms, names repeated rather than using pronouns. Some very weak parts of the storyline too. This is obviously aimed at older readers due to some of the more mature content but some parts are overly explained or just plain weak, as if written for a much younger audience. Sorry Robyn, I think you have talent but a good honest proof reader would be worth their wright in gold.
Ok Great story Lots of great advice about life, acceptance of others, treating others well Learning how to share with a significant other All great stuff I still struggle with Robyn killing off great characters, truly makes the stories more real, but often hard to take Plus he always leaves the ends undone! Still an excellent read and great story!
I loved these books because they described the bonding and love of several characters with widely different backgrounds. The descriptions were vivid, the dialogue was fun, and the action was plentiful. I appreciate the author avoiding the use of strong language and overt intimacy. It was a good read!
This collection of books was gripping and had you from the opening page and left you with the last word wanting more the depth of the characters and story line closed with ease and but also excitement and passion the description of battles and the environment were incredibly realistic an all round sold read
This was a interesting series of books. I enjoyed the flow of the 1st book where it set up the story line. The following 2 books continued as the 1st. If you are into this type of books I highly recommend these books.
The plots within the 3 books were structured well with only a few chapters containing story lines that proved to be pointless. The characters created were believable and processed substance. Editing was far from flawless but over all a worthwhile read.
There was lots of action, lots of blood & gore! Mostly, it a good touch of humor! The romance was interesting! Thanks for the hard work you did & I hope to read more of your stories!
Only the large number of distracting typos and other small errors marred the end of this collection. The overall story is good and the characters interesting.
Loved reading the Badlands Heroes. Well written and there were no mistakes, a few repetitions. There were some parts that were humorous with good fights.
This was my first read by this author am so glad I did the series is great all the characters are wonderfully implemented just right and so can't wait for the next Badlands Heroes installment ❤😊
