Daddy Bear | ★★★★
Daddy's Little Darling | ★★

I enjoyed this a bit less my second time around. While I did enjoy this better than Daddy's Little Darling, I still had some issues. Some of the same issues actually. Can we have a story where the woman isn’t so insecure or have a terrible childhood. It seems like it’s the only way the author wants to justify this style of relationship. We don't actually get any of the actual action until well over 50% into the book. The rest of it was a lot of repetitive things such as Abby being thinking she's not good enough for Kent or him pushing her away.

What did I enjoy? I loved seeing Charlie and Ellie from the past two books and seeing them form a relationship with Abby. They had the cutest friendship!

While I wasn't wowed by this, I hope that the author continue reading because I have a few guys that I'm interested in seeing find their Little.

I loved it, of course.
Kent is such a sweet man, and Abby is perfect for him.
Watching them both find what the need in each other was so satisfying.
I love the way Laylah writes the DD/lg dynamic. It’s always varied to each character and though the love is always just as strong, the way they express it is always unique to the couple. They’re never just copy and paste characters.

God, this series just makes me feel so warm and fuzzy with how each big, growly dominant man cares and loves his girl so much.

I love the Jenson brothers, and Kent is such a deceptively dominant man. It’s so fun.

Even better the, what? Fourth time around? Lol.
I love this series.
I’m doing a read through in anticipation for the new release at the end of this month, and I’m so glad I am. It’s just giving me all the feel good vibes.

Parts of the book were good, others not so much. The lead up to the H and h getting together were decent.

She knew next to nothing about sex, and nothing about BDSM or Daddy/littles. His advice was to look on the internet and see what she thought. Seriously? It seems like that would be one of the worst ways to tell an innocent to learn about it.

Once he got her in his house and agreeing to the relationship, things moved way too quickly. Within a couple of days of her moving in, he's initiated a full-fledged Daddy/little arrangement and punished her multiple times for not getting it right. It was completely unreasonable and made me see him as more of an ass than a caring, safe Dom.

Basically, the first 50% or so was a decent book. Once sex was introduced, the whole thing kind of fell apart including the wanna-be suspense plot.

This was the only book in the series I have read. Even though the characters from previous books appeared in this one, I didn't like any of them well enough to want read more.

I breezed right through this entire book - I just couldn’t put it down. Something about this series just works for me. I loooove those Daddies.

The only thing I didn’t like was when Abby called Kent “Sir”in the bedroom. I just don’t personally prefer that word. I would’ve liked her to call him Daddy all the time. The only reason Kent had her call him Sir was because he liked to tie her up and plug her ass and spank her, but Daddies can do that too? I dunno.

I also felt a little upset for Abby when Kent first kissed her and then said it was a mistake. Ugh. He never thought he’d be into a Little or want to be a Daddy Dom until he met Abby but he convinced himself that he couldn’t be what she needed or she couldn’t give him what he needed either. He kept saying he didn’t want to lead her on but he did just that!! Soooo mad for that.

I guess after he got his head out of his ass he made up for it. I didn’t get the super lovey feeling with him and Abby like I did for Bear & Ellie and Clint & Charlie... but it was still there a little bit.

I’m definitely going to continue on with this series. I need me some more Daddies!!! Pleeeease. 😉

(This book includes age play/regression but it’s very mellow in my opinion. No ABDL or a nursery, pacifier, anything like that...
Just a few stuffies, some Disney movies, onesies and a blanket fort or 2)

Fabulous

Loving the vague crossover with the MC Daddies series - Markovich was my favorite of that set. Looking forward to the next book.

TLDR: This one kinda sucked.

Same universe, different characters...but... unlike the previous book...neither of the characters featured in this book are into the lifestyle.... That's like a main conflict of the book is the fact that they don't realize they're into until they meet each other which is just so weird. Like that's book one type stuff not book three....

Unlike the previous book... I didn't like or highlight any parts of this book lmfao.

More D/s focus than I wanted for a Daddy book. I needed more of an emotional connection between the MC.

When she’d been staring at him before, he knew she was a million miles away. In Abby-land.
He guessed Abby-land was a better place for her to be than her reality.
He really wanted to change that.

This installment in the Montana Daddies series followed the same format as the previous books, but this time, we got Kent (Clint from Daddy's Little Darling's brother). These books are easy reads - your halfway through it before you even realize!

"I want to try what you said. I want to let my Little side out. I don’t want to think or worry or stress. I’m just, I’m not sure how to do that.”
“Leave that to me. I have an idea.”

Kent was kind of a cute baby Daddy Dom - I liked that he was learning to lean into it just like she was. The early scenes between them like when he were super cute - its the last thing you expect the macho, domineering males to do.

The overall plot was okay - it was sad that Abby's . But, she gained a solid found-family by the end of things!

I feel like I am either a hypocrite or a masochist because I keep telling myself that the previous books had some problematic elements that bothered me as well as the same basic storyline repeated over again yet I keep coming back to read another. Maybe it's my guilty pleasure series.

I liked this book more than the previous one but it still had issues for me.

Initially, I thought Abby was going to be a bit different than our previous heroines because she did stand her ground a few times with Kent but then she went back to being meek most of the book. She also made some terrible decisions just like the previous heroines in the series and had to be saved by the H. She did question Kent a lot which I liked because I think you should question things when starting a power exchange relationship. After all, you don't really know the person yet to trust them with your well-being.

I am on the fence with Kent. He did some things that I liked and other things I didn't. I thought it was interesting that he came from a more D/s background that didn't include DDLG and thus was not sure if that was something he wanted. Like the other romantic leads, I did think he cared for Abby but I also found him pushing the boundaries a lot. He did things like inviting himself into her home and once she even asked him to leave several times and he didn't. Like the other leads, he also would come up with rules without discussing it with Abby then later when she does finally agree to the relationship she gets punished for the "infractions" that happened before she ever agreed to that type of relationship. The thing that really frustrated me was that he was aware that she knows next to nothing about BDSM and sex but he talks about tying her to the bed and he's using butt plugs on her and getting upset when she initially freaks out/gets nervous. He does have her choose a safeword so I guess there's that and he mentions talking about their possible limits later but shouldn't you talk about limits before engaging in power exchange.

So some things have bothered me in the previous books but I haven't mentioned them until now. One is that the go-to punishment seems to always be spanking without ever discussing if that's a punishment the women agree to. There are other types of discipline and spanking isn't going to work for everyone. I'm assuming that's always the go-to because people find it sexy but I just wish there was more discussion on it or at least variety. The second thing is that the men say they are going to go easy on them for their first punishment but to them, that means not using a paddle instead of their hand. A hand still hurts and the way Kent for instance went into her first several spankings seemed intense to do on a person when they have never done anything like that before.

I know it seems like all I do is complain especially for someone who keeps coming back to read another book. I don't know why these books keep calling me back but as long as they do I will write reviews so that people know what they are getting into if they read these books.

Awesome, AMAZING Alpha hero

This is my first time reading this author and I loved the hero, Kent, she wrote. He’s strong, capable, dominant and so tender and loving with the heroine, even as he places his protection and boundaries on her.

There was a lot of emotional angst, as well. The heroine, Abby, has been treated terribly in life, abandoned by a trashy immoral mother, neglected by a cold grandmother, and abused by an addict brother. She’s doesn’t feel her worth or think someone as gorgeous as Kent could want to be with her, much less love her. I really felt for her, she tugged on my heartstrings. She is very shy and introverted.

The one thing I didn’t like and which didn’t make any sense for how the character of the heroine was written: she’d let some loser crawl between her legs and gave him the gift of her virginity. Ughhhhh. WHY?!?? She’s super shy and terrible around men, why even go there? It left a kinda bad taste in my mouth that she couldn’t give the hero that irreplaceable gift of her innocence, her Vulnerability and trust. And because she threw it away on a drunken loser, there’s a connection and bond that was missing from her and the hero. A part of her that can never be claimed because it was carelessly given away.

And then there’s all this talk about the hero being old fashioned and cherishing his woman, and how much deeper and more intimately he could have cherished her if he knew he was the one claiming her and awakening her to intimacy? Nothing more old-fashioned than a girl who doesn’t put out, that’s a virtue that’s as old fashioned as they come. I just thought this was a major plot fail and it didn’t make any sense to have this shy heroine have given herself to some loser, something magical and special was lost in that another man claimed her first. 😞😞

Except for that, the book was really good. It also had a great sub-plot of shady sharks circling the heroine, looking for her brother and I loved how the hero stomped into the situation and took control.

I appreciated that this was consensual and not too harsh (as this author's earlier works were), that Abby wasn't a total pushover (she had her own aspirations and told Kent when she felt he was making too many decisions for her), and that Kent compromised.

I really, really appreciated the depiction of Eden, who used a wheelchair. Her disability was part of her, but didn't define her; it didn't magically disappear; and it wasn't used as inspiration porn -- that is, she wasn't "noble" or "good" or "long-suffering." I found her very real, likeable, spirited, and courageous. I really hope we get a book that features her (which we might as her storyline was left open) since this genre is overwhelmingly young, white, middle-class, and abled.

The writing is okay. I've read other books by Ms. Roberts and, generally, I would say that they contain typos and lack transitions. Her chapters don't naturally progress to the next, and often start or end abruptly (and, in this particular case, the ending was too rushed). I'm also not sure why she sets them in the U.S. since occasionally words like "organize" or "collect" will appear.

3 Stars.

Note: I adhere to the ratings system as laid out by Goodreads: 2 stars = it was okay; 3 stars = liked it; 4 stars = really liked it; 5 stars = it was amazing. I gave this book 3 stars because it drew me in, even though the scene transitions were jarring and really affected the book's flow. I do not think that every book I read is "amazing;" further, I think that it cheapens the rating system to always assign 4 or 5 stars. If a book really earns the 4 or 5 stars (and I realize that this is, to some degree, subjective), I'll give them -- but it certainly shouldn't apply to every book. Ymmv, and everyone should enjoy/rate these books as they wish.

I loved everything about this book.It was full of emotional turmoil
that will resonate with the readers. It gives a first hand experience
of how a healthy Daddy Dom relationship should work.

I have been waiting for Kent's story and Abby was just perfect for
him despite his reluctance to commit.Abby came to Kent's attention
when she came to his sisters aid in the car park of a seedy bar.Kent
was sure that Abby was a little and he felt drawn to her.The problem
was Kent was into BDSM and being a daddy was the furthest thing
on his mind.Kent tried to ignore his growing feelings for Abby but
when she is in danger,he steps up too protect her.Abby has been
paying off her brothers debts but a more sinister threat now appears .
Abby is reluctant to take the help offered by Kent but his determination
wins out.Kent stops fighting the pull he feels to make Abby his sweet
little girl.Abby's dream comes true. She has always had a crush on Kent,
he called to everything she longed for but who would want a clumsy,
waitress with nothing to offer but debts and danger. Kent's protective
instincts to nurture Abby took over his insecurities that they could meet
each other's emotional needs.

This was a heart warming story with the right amount of tender moments,
steamy sex scenes and plenty of spankings.I loved how the author shows
the internal struggle of both characters and how their love overcomes and
conquers all.I would love to see Eden have her own story.

Sweet Adoration

Ms Robert’s once again keeps you gripped to the very end of this fabulous read. They are not just about Daddie Dom’s and BDSM, they are intriguing and suspenseful with family love and so much more. I will follow this superb author whatever she writes, stalkerish not!
I really think I just might be a ‘Little’ at heart as these wonderful Daddie Dom reads of Laylah Roberts just call to me, or is it that all women like to be treasured to the extreme?
Once again a great storyline, lovable characters, questionable baddies, with Dom’s that you could lick up the side of their faces! I adored Abby and her goodness and naivety, trouble follows her everywhere, I even loved the tired, angry Kent! But can Kent deal with Abby and her anger and stubborn issues. All Abby wants is to be safe, a little thing in Abby-Land!
A short read that left me wanting so much more, more of this delicious book.

This is a fantastic story! I couldn't put it down. I loved every minute of it. I love this newest series by Laylah Roberts.

Abbey has been trying to keep her head above water. She is working as much as she can so that she will be able to pay the debt her brother owes. One night she helps out Eden which puts her on the radar of Kent Jensen. He realizes that there is more to Abbey after talking to her. He begins to help her out when he realizes that his feelings for her begins to grow more intense. He doesn't really think that he can be all that she needs though. Will they realize that they are perfect for each other before it's too late?

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Daddy Sir

This series keeps getting better and better with each book! There are so many supporting characters that I cannot wait to read their stories too!

I was thrilled with Kent and Abby's story as it was the first time in the series the Daddy was also a Sir, I happen to love Daddy/little girl stories and also BDSM romances so this was the best of both worlds.

There was a bit of suspense and "drama" in this story with the added element of Abby's brother and his dealings with criminals and a crime family, that also was something I enjoyed and really added to the story without going into things too deep.

So excited to see what book 4 has in store for me!

Loving the series!

~Abby is struggling with constantly working to paying off her brothers debts. She wants someone to care for her for once. Never in her wildest dreams did she think it would be the man she’s been crushing on for some time. Kent doesn’t think he can be what she needs. He’s a dom, not a daddy.~

These two are so sweet. I love how easily Kent takes over and handles all of Abby’s stress and issues. He pushes her to do what makes her happy which I love.

Really enjoy seeing Clint. He’s such a softie, it’s hilarious.

I got through half of it, and it's just a guy telling the girl to take a nap or go to bed early. She naps ALL. THE. TIME. That's their whole interaction. I don't think this series is for me. I also read book 2, which was better than this, but not much better.

Gotta say Laylah Roberts did improve some for this book; mainly in her investigation and preparation for the characters and culture described. Somewhat "fixing" the issues of education I had in the previous books. Still... I have issues.

Kent appears in book 2 as a fun, slightly mellow in comparison to his brother and definitely more sensible of the two, making better decisions regarding how to treat a woman new to their lifestyle. This soon dies the moment he is shown the girl he likes in a perilous situation. He goes to ignore her desire to be left alone several times ignoring her NON CONSENT to all that he's doing. She, Abby, several times during the book requests him to NOT do something and he plows along under the guise of "knowing better" even tho he doesn't have the permission and they're not in the relationship for him to take charge from the beginning. Then he appeared so obsessive over the BDSM agenda with Abby that he didn't sound interested or sexy, he sounded creepy. Just a slight change to the ending of this book and it could've been an episode of Criminal Minds.

Then, even though he explained to her about DD/lg relationships he doesn't give her a chance for self introspection but coaches her instead to the answer he wants, already acting as if they were in a dynamic without yet having her consent or even clear understanding.

Abby seems to me a sorry excuse for a character. She's a doormat and remains so the whole time. I was truly hoping that at some point she would stand up for herself but her actions and decisions throughout the story are nothing but plot devices. Then her reactions to every terrible decision she's made blowing up in her face are so overdone it's pathetic. Instead of a woman who regresses to a little, she acts like a 5 year old with the responsibilities of a 20 something woman. Unintelligent at worst, simpleton at best.

I don't particularly like the whole Cinderella story troupe, but I've seen plenty done right. This was not the case. In the end Kent is there to fix everything with his magical limitless card and rich people background than to exist as a character/person. He buys her things, helps her with his contacts and power and even claims "her" as "his" in front of the law...? That's also a big WTF for me; there0s a point in the story where Kent tells a sheriff that anything to do with Abby will go through him, telling her he is responsible for her, again without consulting with her, without planning or asking for her opinion at least. Any legal rep is appointed by the person who will be represented NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. But Mr. Sheriff leaves it at "so that's how it is..." and I'm like... WTF?!

Abby's brother is another character I have a problem with. He was lame in the beginning then quickly became nothing but a plot device. He basically existed to put Abby in Kent's life as the damsel in distress and nothing else regarding his future or his relationship with Abby needs to exist for the plot to continue.

The ending too made meaningless several things that I thought were important. Problems that should've pressed tension and conflict between the couple but were fixed by Kent's money and power. It felt rushed, undeserved and disappointing.

Anyway... it's safe to say I don't recommend this book. There are a couple characters that feel might be having their own stories but I doubt I'll be reading many more from this series or author.

"So, this was what love was? This overwhelming need to be with someone, to keep them safe, to never want to imagine your life without them."

Ok, so even though I'm head over stars for the Montana Daddies series and I can't seem to stop reading this amazing books, Daddy's Sweet Girl fell a little flat, BUT it's not for the lack of DD/Dom/lg/sub content. It was more for the continuity and the role of Kent. I am happy that the author had him not understand his identity of a DDom, but i felt there were some loop holes that were missed within the story that were not hashed out. Plus, I really wish Laylah made this novel longer to incorporate their relationship and prognosis of their roles to which the reader could see their journey develop. I liked how towards the end Abby was seen more, 'played' more with Charlie and Ellie, but I wish there was more of that. I felt like it ended abruptly, which I can't stand in books.

The great aspect of this novel is that is centered on Kent Jensen and his security business and men. Which looks like the 4th book will have another alpha from that side of the Sanctuary Ranch, and Oh boy, those men seem so ruthless in their dominance that I can't wait to see them get their loves!

I totally get that not every book of a series will be 5 stars, but I can't wait until Daddy's Lost Love , Jed's story. These books keep me up late at night, maybe I need a Daddy to put me to bed. haha!

2.5* A few mistakes and rather rushed at the end but I enjoyed it.

I’ve got to say this book is a lot better then the first two in the series. I liked Kent and Abbey, after Kent finally mans up and admits he wants her. It’s a bit repetitive with the man not wanting a relationship and fighting it, then he decides he does and it’s all great. Not sure I would accept Kent into my life after he kisses her and then tells her it was a massive mistake. 😱 There’s actually Little play as well. Finally! As there’s been none so far.

Abbey is in a world of trouble. Her brother Max owes money to a lot of bad people and she for some bizarre reason agrees to pay them. I was really sad that one of the people is Mr Markovich as I loved him in his book. Can’t believe that Mr Markovich liked Abbey but is still making her pay him back for her brothers debts! 😡 When Kent finds out what is happening to her, she moves in with him and it’s really good, apart from the endless spankings….again! Kent is a lot more easy going than Clint, thankfully.

There are a few mistakes. The bad men who are after Abbey’s brother Max are watching her to know where she is, but they don’t notice her brother Max who is at her house???

Abbey wakes up in Kent’s bedroom and staggers to the bathroom to use the toilet, sees Kent naked and suddenly forgets she needs the toilet, and has sex. So all I could think about was the fact that she needed the toilet. Not sexy.

Nothing really happens until right near the end of the book, then it’s all really rushed and not resolved.

There are a few others but you get the idea. I did still enjoy it though.

So in a fit of mania, I read books 1, 2 & 3 back to back in a day. I enjoyed them all but book 3 ended up being the one I was most looking forward to because I wanted to know more about Kent and see him get his HEA.

Which is something I have noticed and loved about this author. She does a great job of building up characters that you love even more than the previous one. Surprisingly enough for me it is always the men. I find no matter what series of hers I am reading; I love her male characters just a bit (okay sometimes a lot) more than the FMC.

This author is quickly becoming someone I read without a second thought, and I find that a little perplexing since I am not really into the Daddy Dom / lg kink. But somehow, I am still hooked. It could be the fact that this author has an ability to write characters that have moments of sheer vulnerability that make me cry a little. It could be the fact that this author excels at writing an ott/ alpha Daddy Dom. I'm to the point where I no longer care what or how this author does it, I am just here to enjoy the ride.

While this book was the one I was looking forward to the most I think book two was slightly better in that the FMC had a few moments that made me tear up a bit.

I’d say that if you find yourself interested in the book/series and are open minded to the DD/lg aspects then give the books a read.

Kent Jensen seems like an easygoing guy but he has a core of steel and is a Dom looking for a sub who will give him everything and not a Little who is in a world of trouble. Abby's life is seriously out of control and she has no idea how to fix it. She is worn out trying to work to get the money to pay off her brother's debts and has a huge crush on the most gorgeous man in the state who will never notice her a she is shy, clumsy and plain - no way is she enough of a woman for Kent. But when he brother's trouble put her in danger it is Kent who steps in as he can't help himself wanting to protect, guide and dominate her. Suddenly he wants to be Sir in the bedroom and Daddy everywhere else. Can he convince Abby that he wants her to be Daddy’s sweet girl forever?

I enjoyed this story with the put upon Abby trying to do her best, the dominant Kent and the way that he eventually realised that he can be and have everything he wants and needs with Abby as it is possible to be both. Abby was sweet and determined to be independent and it was only when she suddenly realised that she could rely on Kent to care for her and make sure that she was safe. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content of a BDSM style with both DDLG and D/s natures.

I like Kent and Abby's story. I also really enjoy the appearance of Gray and Markovich.. With this book, as with most of hers, the plot hints at some big ending with the brother but nothing really happens. They're pretty anticlimactic.

This is a general review of Laylah's ddlg fics: (1) The shorter the book the better it is. This one meets that criteria. (2) Laylah's books lack sex. They're all more story driven. In her books, you'll be lucky if you get one sexual encounter. There's a lot of teasing, but not much of the actual act. There's also always the lead up to a** play, but never happens. So if you read her fics for sexy times - you'll be disappointed. (3) every single female in her books have a habit of saying their thoughts out loud and then getting embarrassed about it. I'm on like the 15th book and reading about 15 women that are shocked when they blurt out something they were thinking is getting a little old. (4) In every book there's a scene where the male will ask her to go pee and it's a big deal about being embarrassed. Again, after the 15th book I'm tired of reading the same thing. (5) almost all of the girls read ddlg fics, yet when they meet the man they're shocked that he suggests it. They're all fantasizing over the same thing so why not just go with it?
That being said - I like all of her stories just about. I've read all of the MC Daddies series and I'm actually on book 7 in this series. They're good.

Abby lives alone and spends most of her time working as many hours as she can get. Her brother is the only family she has, but has gotten himself into a lot of trouble. When Abby visits a shady bar to try and help her brother out, she finds a girl in trouble and tries to help. That girl just so happens to be the sister of her crush! And now he is doing everything he can to repay her for helping his sister.

This book is adorable! I’m going to end up with an entire shelf of Layah Roberts books. This book contains DDLG and BDSM content. I’d say the DDLG is more mild compared to the previous books in this series.

Abby is a thick girly with some confidence issues. She’s just trying to get through her stressful life with coping mechanisms that she thinks are embarrassing. And Kent just loves every piece of her and shows her that over and over again. And I love that she found Ellie and Charlie. It is important to have friends who love and accept you.

I don’t like how it ended on a sad note with them finding out what happened to her brother. I’m glad we weren’t left hanging, but I would have liked to end the book feeling warm and fuzzy. There are plenty of warm fuzzies throughout the book, though.

Ok but side note, why is the bar called “Suck N’ Blow”???? 😂

Kent’s story will always be one of my favorites. With him and Abby, you get two distinct dynamics—Daddy/little and Dom(Sir)/sub—and Laylah absolutely nails the difference between the two. Some folks think they’re the same, but this book proves they’re not. It’s fictional, sure, but it’s also a masterclass in how to do both dynamics right. Abby’s vulnerability and Kent’s control made my heart (and other parts 👀) do cartwheels. Laylah doesn’t just avoid yucking people’s yums—she YUMMMMMMMS my yums 😝😜 Every time.

P.S. I tagged this in the book bae hall of fame because Kent….🥰🤤🥵
