Hurricane Hearts

She walked away from me five years ago.
She ran and took my heart with her.
Now I want it back, and hers too.
She can tell me no.
She can try to hide.
She can take her time.
But I’m a man on my knees.
Birdie Beaumont will be mine again.

My first lie had been to save us.
My second lie had been to save him.
My third lie broke me.
I still love him just as much as I did when I left him.
But I can’t have him.
Not after what I did.
Not after keeping it from him all this time.
Winter Morrison will never forgive me for what I did.

ESCAPE WITH AN ALPHA

USA Today Bestselling Author Nina Levine is an Aussie author who writes alphas with a side of dirty and sassy women who don't hand their hearts over easily.

When she isn't creating with words, she loves to create with paint and paper. Often though, she can be found curled up with a good book and some chocolate.

The title says it all. This book is a hurricane of emotions. Pain is a constant cycle. Sometimes we can bury it deep but it always comes to the surface. Secrets can only eat away at your soul and when they finally break free you should preprare for your worst nightmare to come true. This story will take you on an emotional journey of forgiveness and learning to love yourself. This truly was incredible and honestly my favorite so far of any mc romance. The writing is perfect and so detailed you feel like you are experiencing the story right along with the characters. I can't wait to see what Nina has in store for us in the future.

WINTER & BIRDIE ... Emotional + Gritty

Oh Nina Nina Nina!!!!

You certainly know how to win over hearts with your Storm men ... and women. HURRICANE HEARTS was simply sublime. Never have I read an MC novel that was grippingly emotional and heartbreakingly shattering, as the story of Winter Morrison and his one true love Birdie Beaumont.

Nothing is perfect about either Winter or Birdie, except the love that they deeply have for each other. He is a broody, stubborn alpha man with the tenderest of hearts, while she is just as stubborn, feisty, sassy and determined, a woman who holds a secret that could cause irreparable damage between them.

Winter's love for Birdie has never dwindled, even after she left him under mysterious circumstances five years earlier. Now he has returned to claim his woman, Will Birdie let him in? How will Winter react when he learns of her secret? As well as battling with Birdie for their love, Winter must also deal with a family tragedy - one which brings with it repercussions and truths that will have lasting effects.

Once again Nina Levine has written a story that is deep, confronting and completely unputdownable. Winter and Birdie would now have to be my favourite couple (sorry King and Lily). Theirs is a relationship that will truly test their love and understanding for one another. The constant pushing and pulling between them will break your heart. But once a heart recognises it's soulmate, there is no letting go.

Simply perfect Ms Levine. Yet again you have shown the literary world your mastery with words and your ability to play with a reader's emotions. There was grit, angst, passion, fear, frustration, anger and love. Exceptional. You are the undisputed Queen of the MC world.

I simply cannot recommend this book strongly enough.

Hurricane Hearts is absolutely my favorite book of Nina's to date.
From the minute I read Storm I fell in love with all of Nina's guys and related to many of the sassily independent women she paired them tough men up with. However, I don't think I've honestly connected on a real-life basis with any two characters more, than I did with Winter & Birdie.

**"I'd raise hell if she tried to leave me again. She was my soul mate."**

All it took was one mistake for Birdie to realize she messed up any and all future plans her and Winter may have had. With her mistake she made the hardest decision of her life and left the man she loved to protect him the pain and suffering she felt.

Five years later and he's barging back in her life determined to make her his once again. However, there are some secrets that can break even the toughest of men, and this one that Birdie has kept locked up for years may be the one thing to push Winter away...for good. But Birdie may have underestimated the strength of love that Winter has for her, she's only just got to open her heart up once again and reveal all the secrets that lie before them.

**"Birdie, that man is far from feeling pressured about a wedding. He was born to marry you and he knows it."**

The Storm series is hands down one of my favorite series to go back to constantly and re-read. To see Nina branch off and give up more only makes me want to jump up and down and squeal like a little girl!

**"You're not making friends here, Birdie. You're making family."** -- I honestly can't think up of a better line that sums of the storm series than this one!--

EASY FIVE STARS FOR NINA!!! This book! Y’all!!! So good. I loved the change of pace from the MC chaos to just straight up angst and feels. Nina nailed so many emotions it’s unreal. I cried a little, laughed a little and swooned a whole fucking lot! Great read! Winter and Birdie have just become the IT couple and I can’t wait to see what happens with them in future stories. They are like J and Madison to me. I always want more.

Whilst this book is classified in the MC genre, it really doesn't have much MC content in it. That being said, this book has so much more! It is full of real-life situations that many of us go through written in a beautifully mesmerising way that will make you cry real tears and feel real hurt for the characters Winter and Birdie, as well as Max! God, I felt for him as we all have a Melissa stuck somewhere in our family!!! This story is one of heartache and how true love can overcome anything that gets in its way and I absolutely loved it!! Thanks again Nina for writing a book that hit straight at my soul xxx

Wow! This book blew me away in ways a book hasn't done in a while. It consumes my day and before I realised it I had read the last words. I waited for this book to be released as a whole and I can honestly say I am pleased that I did. This was a raw and emotional driven read and I found myself sitting with tears streaming down my face.

Winter and Birdie's story has been a long time coming and I will say it has been one of my favourites in this extended Storm MC world. The story isn't pretty it deals with hard and thought-provoking subjects. Nina Levine seems to have a way of taking you deep into the heart and bare bones of the story and hooks you until you can't think of anything else. For me, that's a magic that's hard to find.

The details of the story I have purposefully left out of my review. As I feel it would be spoiled if it was even hinted at. It's not all MC related at all, far from it. This book is about love, family and fate. It's about making decisions that impact everyone and of not willing to listen when someone is crying out for help. Leaving them with no choice but to run.

I totally recommend this book. It can be totally read as a standalone but why would you deprive yourself of reading a series that grabs you with both hands and feeds your fantasies.

Hurricane Hearts is the perfect title for this story about Birdie Beaumont and Winter Morrison, two people who had lost their way, then met up again. This is so much more than a second chance romance and it truly does make a big impact on you, the reader, as you discover their story.

This book is filled to the brim with emotions, everything from fear to anger to exhilaration and happiness to grief. The raw passion at times is extremely potent. The words woven together to create this amazing story are just so powerful and thought-provoking. Like this example, the words aren’t fancy but the meaning is anything but simple and accurate.
“...All I can think is that you’re so unhappy with yourself that all you do is look for flaws in other people to make yourself feel better. It’s time you did some work on yourself so that you can start appreciating the people in your life.”

I thoroughly enjoyed both lead characters, Birdie and Winter, and for many reasons; they are both full of energy and very giving, they are both hardworking yet fun to be around and they are sexy as all get out. 😉However the most outstanding thing about them is how real they are, it feels like you almost know them as actual people in your own life. They become real on the pages of this book because they are so easy to relate to and like.

Another mind-blowing story by this very talented author who never ceases to amaze me with her brilliant mind.

What an epic read! I’m just blown away by how amazing this story is. Winter and Birdie find their way back to each other. They’ve been through an emotional roller coaster together. Winter is a strong, sweet, sexy alpha who just pulls at my heart strings. Birdie has dealt with so much but still manages to be this strong, beautiful, and sassy woman. I loved the banter between Winter and Birdie. This story had me crying, laughing, and gripping the edge of my seat. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Hurricane Hearts was my first book from Nina Levine and it won’t be my last. Hurricane Hearts is a second chance MC romance although the MC element isn’t the main focus in this story. The relationship between Winter and Birdie was and I liked that. Some bikers from Winters’ Storm MC appeared and it was enough for me. I was totally invested in Birdie and Winter finding their way back to one another after Birdie walked away from him five years ago.
They share a lot of history after being together for a decade. Birdie made a choice. A mistake which caused her to make a choice to walk away from Winter. Five years later and Winter will do anything to make Birdie his again but it’s not easy. I enjoyed their chemistry and how well they knew one another and each other’s family. Winter’s brother Max, Birdie’s mother and her two brothers Casey and Logan were fabulous secondary characters.
The author states this is just the beginning of Winter’s journey towards being the President Of The Storm MC and I’m ready for the ride. Hurricane Hearts is a terrific second chance romance filled with all the feels I expect and enjoy.

Nina Levine never fails to amaze me with how she evokes more emotion with her words with each page written. With Hurricane Hearts I didn’t think I was ever going to be able to pull myself together again!

Birdie hides behind many things at the beginning of this book to distance herself from her home town and everyone in it. When she’s finally comes home she manages to keep up her barriers but when she sees Winter truly suffer she knows she can’t let him face that alone, but the guilt she is carrying from there past is eating her alive.

Can she still have Winter if she reveals all?

Can they truly move on from the mistakes she made?

Winter has only space for one woman in his heart and Birdie has owned that part for most of his life,

but she left,

she broke him,

But he loves her anyway!

When fighting his way through the hardest time of his life she steps up, she gives him her all only problem is she takes it away just as quickly.

He hates her,

He loves her,

Can they truly battle this Hurricane together!

The rawness of Nina’s words slayed my soul, she reached depths with these characters that twisted me apart but did it while making me fall in love with both Winter and Birdie. I felt there individual pain but when that pain combined it could only bring on a Hurricane I wasn’t sure they could both survive!

A phenomenal read from Nina that finally quenched my always over whelming need for her fantastic words I’m always guaranteed a 5 star read!

Hurricane Hearts was the first book in the Storm MC Reloaded series by Nina Levine.

It had been a long while (and hundreds of books) since I had read any Storm MC books so this was like a stand-alone for me and totally can be read as a stand-alone for those that haven’t read the series.

Winter Morrison was ex-military and a loyal member of the Storm MC. He was still lining over his lost love, never able to give his heart away again.

Birdie Beaumont was a business owner; which was how she kept busy. She dated but no one ever lived up to her one true love, so first dates were her norm. She had walked away five years ago with secrets and the intention of never looking back.

Levine brought us up to speed quickly with Winter and Birdie. They ran into each other unexpectedly after five long years. Their chemistry was off the charts and this time Winter refused to let her go, but Birdie had other plans. Levine took us through the unraveling of the many layers between Winter and Birdie while also adding Winter’s family saga as a secondary storyline; which added depth and dimension. The MC took a backseat but appeared to be setting it up for the next book in the series.

All in all, it was a quick and enjoyable read. War of Hearts is next but I would love to have Max’s full story in a spin off as well.

Wow Nina just blew me away with this story. I’ve been waiting for Winter and Birdie’s book and devoured each page. Their story was so raw and emotional and they took me on the most incredible journey.
These two characters spent 10 years together and then Birdie made a decision that changed everything. The guilt and the pain drove her away from Winter and they both spent the next five years longing for the other.
This book begins with a chance meeting at the airport five years after their break up and Winter has decided that there is nothing that’s going to keep him and Birdie apart.
I don’t want to give away anymore of the story, you need to take this journey for yourself. The love these two characters have for each other is undeniable. It’s so beautifully written and I highly recommend reading their story.

Oh my word, I actually cried... This book was so emotional and heartbreaking, I have no words.
I'm glad i didn't read it chapter by chapter in the newsletter, and waited for the full book. I finished this book in one night, I just couldn't stop reading once I started.

Winter and Birdie have been inlove for years, but then they broke up and Winter didn't know the real reason why. Now 6years later they meet again, and this time Winter is not letting his Birdie get away.
Birdie was in love with Winter, but she can't afford to be with him, she has a secret and she can't tell him because that would hurt him even more than breaking up with him. Now she is trying to run, but Winter has made it clear that he wont let her run anymore. So what is she going to do??

This book was very emotional and heartbreaking, my heart was breaking for Winter, but also for Birdie. They had so much to get through even though Winter thought it would be easy, but there was issues going on that he didn't even know about. But once Birdie made up her mind she wan't running anymore, she made it clear that she would fight for him too. They were meant to be from the start and overcoming things wont be easy but it will be definitely be worth it!

“Five years worth of my own guilt twisted deep in my stomach. He thought this was all on him when that was as far from the truth as you could get. I had my own stake in our ending, but it would kill him if he knew the truth. Or maybe I was more concerned it would kill me for him to know. For him to hate me for what I did.”

Regret and bone deep pain lingers in every word and action as Birdie struggles with the guilt and grief of her choices that led to her saying goodbye to the man that is the keeper of her heart. A chance meeting years later is the trigger for him to act upon his need for her, he was always coming for her but life had gotten in the way and so much time had passed. Much has changed in the years that have separated them and yet their never ending love is a testament to just how perfect and right they are for one another. How many battles can be fought before they surrender in the war for their happiness?

This is a heart wrenching love story as one soul crushing truth after another is heaped onto Winter’s shoulders, he searches for the strength to overcome adversity and be the man he was raised to be. Devoted to Birdie, he wants her to accept they are forever but wrestles with the harsh reality of the past once it’s revealed. Exposing all his vulnerabilities and his aching desire to be a better man I fell hard for Winter. Birdie is perfectly imperfect soul mate and her braveness shines through as she is there for him in his darkest times. I loved this couple and the storm they weather together.

Nina Levine is an author that always delivers multilayered characters with emotional depths that leave the reader reeling and desperate for more. I experienced an onslaught of feelings whilst reading their story and have read this story twice so far! I loved losing myself to the world that is created and the characters that are so loyal and true to one another.

A five star “Love, fight, battle, protect: the Morrison way. The only fucking way” read!

To say I can't get enough of Nina Levine's MC stories is truly an understatement. Once again, she has seared my soul with the glorious love story that is Hurricane Hearts. A second chance romance that she first started in a newsletter and is now a full-length novel. The push and pull, the desperate emotions that both Birdie Beaumont and Winter Morrison feel as their lives cross paths once again blew me away. I was completely invested from the very first words and held my breath that these two could get past the hurt and betrayal as I started their journey once more.

I am continually floored at the characters that Nina Levine creates. Let's start with Winter. He's all brooding alpha with a heart of gold. His love is intense and all-consuming and I wondered right along with him just how Birdie could have left him 5 years prior. But then we get to know the pilates instructor and see the whys of her actions and understand how big of a heart she has and what she needed to do to not only protect it but Winter's as well.

With a family tragedy at the center of this story, Winter and Birdie's timing is everything. And as secrets are revealed and feelings are laid bare, it's a wonder they even have a chance at a future together. But damn if their perseverance and sheer stubbornness doesn't make up for all the missteps they have taken, as they wage the battle for the love of a lifetime they simply cannot do without.

We get a few glimpses of the Storm men I have come to adore leading up to the next chapter in Winter and Birdie's lives. They, together with bestie Cleo, Birdie's brothers and Max Morrison, add just the right touch and the right outlet when things get a bit too profound.

Knowing that just by a look, that both Birdie and Winter can sense what the other is thinking, is clearly the tipping point for both to be all in and surely there is nothing better than finding your soulmate never really left your side, even with miles and years between you.

A love story for the ages, Hurricane Hearts is not to be missed. Nina Levine has crafted yet another winner in her Storm series and this book deserves nothing less than 5 huge stars!

Loved, Loved, Loved Winter & Birdie! Might just be one of my new favorite books by Nina Levine! Five years apart without a solid reason why Winter is determined to make Birdie his again. You will laugh, cry and fall in love with these two. This book was nothing like other books by Nina; this was a love story more than an MC related book. It’s setting up for the next chapter in the Storm MC. I can’t wait for more if you have read any of Nina’s book you must read Hurricane Hearts!

Winter's back and Birdie is trying her damndest to resist the man, but her body and heart just cannot seem to go along with that idea. After all, he's the only man she's ever loved, will ever love. And he's doing HIS damndest to get past her defenses. She knows it's only a matter of time before she's falling back into him. If only she didn't have a huge secret. A secret she kept from him years ago. A secret that will irrevocably change how he sees her, how he feels about her.

Gaaaawwwd I LOVE Birdie and Winter! They are so perfect for each other. He so alpha and possessive with a huge, soft heart. She so sassy and determined to keep the love of her life from finding out why she really left him 5 years ago. I admit to shedding a few tears as her secret came out, right when Winter was in the thick of a tragedy that no one should have to face, yet everyone eventually has to suffer through. Gah, it was heartbreaking reading of his anger and hurt as she blurted out her secret, and then Birdie hurting right along with him, knowing she had to give him space to deal, even when the first thing she wanted to do was comfort him even though she was the cause of his pain. Nina Levine's stories are always emotional and feature strong, passionate characters, but I think I can safely say that Winter and Birdie are her two best characters yet and I have stuck them on my very small Favorites shelf, where they're joined by only a few special men and women. Thank you Nina for this heartbreaking, beautiful story.

Birdie walked away from Winter five years ago leaving him devastated. When they meet again Winter is determined to get them both back on track and there’s no way he’s letting her walk away again. This book was a little different to what I’m used to from this author. It’s low on angst and drama and instead concentrates on the characters and their relationship. I found it to be more emotional than I was expecting. The love between Birdie and Winter is enough to melt the coldest of hearts and you’ll be just as desperate as Winter is that they can find a way to leave the past where it belongs and find their hea.

I’ve read most (if not all) of the Storm MC series and this can definitely be read as a stand-alone. If you’re looking for a book with two mature characters trying to make their love work, this is the book for you.

We always hurt the one we love the most.
This is partly what this book is about. That and secrets and regrets. Oh and don't forget love.
Winter and Birdie had been together for 10 years and not why she did it but Birdie threw it all away and moved on. Winter hadn't been back from the war for long when she left him.
Now 5 years later and they are running into each other and he still wants her badly and is not taking no for an answer. Even her family wants them together.
They have just started talking when Winters father dies. Having loved his father also Birdie goes with Winter to help him through it all. Determined to find out why she doesn't want to get back together even though he knows she still loves and wants him Winter set's out to find out what happened to them. He said his only hard limit to not working things out was if she cheated on him might come back to haunt him. Could anything be worse than a cheaper? Birdie never cheated on him but when he finally finds out what she has been hiding all these years he's not sure if he can forgive or not.
Can two broken souls come back together to make things work? Is love enough?
Not much about the MC in this book but it's not about the MC but about two people who love each other and how they try to get over the past.

While Hurricane Hearts fits into the Storm MC world, I think that this book can actually be read on a stand alone basis so don't be deterred if you've not read any of her Storm books.

Nina has been releasing chapters for this book via her newsletter, however, I stayed away form the chapters, wanting to read it as a whole. I have seen everyone get really excited about the chapters that have come out and I can now see why; I loved this book.

This book sucked me in right from the beginning and I devoured it on one sitting. This was Winter and Birdie's book and I just loved this couple. This was a second chance romance, so they had a big previous history with each other and one of the reasons I love this trope is because you get an emotional connection between the characters instantly and Winter and Birdie's connection with each other was undeniable right from the get go. What I particularly loved about this story, was that it felt relatable. I could literally feel and understand everything that this couple went through together and apart. This was a great, emotional read and I can't wait for more to come.

Well now …. This was an incredibly emotional ride! *wow* This is one of those stories where the statement “all we need is love” really comes to question. Is it enough? The rational real life me of course thinks absolutely not, but the fictional romance dreamer in me is screaming YES, please YES YES YES! As the saying goes … The struggle is real for Winter and Birdie!

Winter and Birdie have history. A lot of it. Their paths have once again cross years later but there are secrets and pain and a whole lot of guilt that must be sorted. This is where the author shinned for me. I’ve loved Nina’s voice and style for years. She’s one of the first authors of mc romance fiction that I read years ago and she impressed me then and still doing so today! Altho this particular story doesn’t necessarily focus on Winter’s role in the MC or the MC at all, it’s still there, dropping hints for future books :) But I digress … There are many layers to this journey between Winter and Birdie and Nina did a phenomenal job of unfolding the story-line for us and grab our hearts from page one! I was fully invested. I read well into the night with this one. Birdie and Winter as individuals were just as captivating as the story itself. The dual pov helped with that.

*sigh* prepare yourselves to be gutted with this one. It’s very real and very well done! Words that come to mind while I write this review are explosive and intense. Everything about this story was just phenomenal! Well done!

The story isn't pretty it deals with hard and thought provoking subjects. Nina Levine seems to have a way of taking you deep into the heart and bare bones of the story and hooks you until you can't think of anything else. For me that's a magic that's hard to find.

The details of the story I have purposefully left out of my review. As I feel it would be spoiled if it was even hinted at. It's not all MC related at all, far from it. This book is about a love, family and fate. It's about making decisions that impact everyone and of not willing to listen when someone is crying out for help. Leaving them with no choice but to run.

I totally recommend this book. It can be totally read as a standalone but why would you deprive yourself of reading a series that grabs you with both hands and feeds your fantasies.

4.5 Stars ~ Reviewed by Sharon Thérèse at KindleFriendsForever

I’m probably the only reader in Levine’s Storm MC world who hasn’t had the chance to read the whole series. I blame this on my constantly growing TBR list which has long got out of hand. However, when I found out that Hurricane Hearts could be read as a stand-alone, I jumped at the chance. All signed, sealed and delivered, I made the huge mistake of diving into it at silly o’clock and guess what? Sleep deficit was on the cards ‘cause it’s one of those reads you pick up and simply can't put down. So you can’t say you haven’t been warned, lol!

Sweet, sexy and touching but quite low on angst, I found Hurricane Hearts a deliciously engaging second chance romance. Winter Morrison and Birdie Beaumont are really likeable guys. About to be tested, both have to face up to a certain happening which one of them isn’t at all proud of. It made me reflect on how often we’re off-kilter regarding our partner’s behaviour. Why should we be in the loop when we have no idea what’s going on in their minds? Musing on the past and wondering what is in store for the future can be a treacherous game if we’re not sure how to cope with the now. These very thoughts of mine were on par with Birdie’s.

‘Winter Morrison will never forgive me for what I did.’

When they unexpectedly crossed paths, I felt their chemistry, the heat and all my senses were put on red alert! Also, it felt like all those years they’d spent apart hadn’t mended their broken hearts. Truths had been held back, deep feelings had been hidden and open wounds still had to find closure. More important, unsaid words would eventually manifest and in such a way that my heart bled for them.

‘She was like that song you loved and couldn’t get out of your head, but for the life of you, couldn’t figure out why you loved it so much.’

It’s not often I come across a character as considerate as Winter. Here’s a gorgeous man who ruminates quite a bit as all the signals that something’s not quite right are there. But he’s on a mission and will stop at nothing to get his gal back. Birdie wants what he does although she can’t find the courage to tell him why she’d upped and left so suddenly. I never ever doubted that they belonged together. Learning to forgive themselves and then each other before moving forward was the making of a beautifully compassionate read.

‘I was a fighter. That was me—heart, body, and soul.’

This amorously entwined couple try to find a status quo; a detail which the author highlighted throughout the book, yet for me, this was Winter’s story. Don’t take my opinion the wrong way. I loved Birdie to bits, but I felt she could have been a tad braver and trusted him and his judgement more. Narrated from a dual point of view in past has always appealed to me as I get to know both sides of the story and in this respect, Levine’s accomplished it perfectly. The secondary character development was spot on too, and hoping to see more of Birdie’s siblings. Bravo!

“I love you, Angel, but I’m fucking mad at you, and until I get that shit under control, I need some space.”
