Torn Between Two Duet

Decisions, decisions. So how would you choose between the hottest rock star in the world or the heir to a billion dollar company who wants to be a lawyer? Do you want the life of living with a man who always walks out on you to perform and who is also surrounded by groupies, booze and drugs or the steady sure thing with the lawyer who seems to always be there when you most need someone in your life? Granted I personally would have a hard time making any decisions but I would say Samantha was having the same problem which in turn made me feel like a ping pong ball going back and forth between these two men. The rock star who you used to have his posters on your bedroom wall back home at your parents’ house and has nicknamed you “Sunshine” or the soon to be lawyer who is walking away from the billion dollar family business in order to become the lawyer he wants to be and has nicknamed you “Princess” which is exactly how he treats her.

With as many times as Samantha has been torn between these two men the author has actually given Samantha some backbone as well. Her dream is to become a head pastry chef at an upscale restaurant and she is not willing to give up her dream for anyone. All three of them share a past that has shaped them into the people they now are. You have to prepare yourself because just when you think you have it all figured out and are sitting at the edge of your seat you run head long into a huge cliffhanger! I cannot wait to see what comes next.

This is the second book from the Torn Duet and and it picked up where book one left us with such a cliffhanger!! How to pick? Would you want the handsome, caring Josh who knows how to truly love a woman working his way through law school so he can help children OR do you pick the hot rock star who is definitely on the road to self destruction and has you believing that he would change his bad boy ways if you would stay by his side.

There are so many ups and downs and surprises that leave you with your mouth hanging open. You will feel true love, deceptions and heartbreaking scenes that will have you turning pages as fast as you can to see where this author is going to take you.

The first part of this box set will have you so tied up in knots, emotionally and mentally !!! I can honestly say that Triangles aren't really my thing but... this author just about blows my mind with her skill and how the captures and captivated me!!! We all have our favourite man and im not even gonna say who mine is !! You just have to read it !!!!

I loved the story line for this book. Sam is a young determined girl, working as a sous chef and following a path toward having her own restaurant someday. She isn’t really looking for love and then within a short time she meets two men, Hawke the lead singing rock star who just oozes sex, he’s dark, yet vulnerable and she’s totally besotted by him. Then we have Josh, sweet, tender and charming. One she loves more than she feels he loves her, the other she loves as a friend but his feelings for her are a lot deeper. One might crush her heart, the other would protect it.

The author doesn’t make this journey easy and makes a fantastic job of pulling your emotions both ways. At times i felt torn, with who she should chose. Other times i wanted to pull Sam aside and tell her to stop being a doormat !!! Hawke was totally captivating, yet i found it hard to try to get to know him, there is so much to him and i really want him to step up for her. Yet Josh, was so sweet, but at times i felt he was just too nice. Both these guys love her, but you wonder if they both need her to save them or if one of them will save her. The author does a brilliant job of leading you and your emotions in all directions, and i found my heart being owned equally by both hero’s.

So as if the first part didn't wreck up now onto the 2nd !!! omg hold on tight!! gahhhh my heart !!
This book takes up where the first one left us, and i have to say if you thought the first one emotional, you in for a roller coaster !!!
In this book we are desperate to know who Sam choose’s, Hawke or Josh. Both men love her, even though there are huge differences between them it’s something that emotionally Sam just can’t fathom. Her obsession with Hawke is just as strong. Josh is still there, unconditionally supporting her. This is truly a battle and you just know Sam and her heart are going to take a battering which ever way the story goes and i am not going to give that away.
I both loved and hated this book, it went the way i wanted and then it didn’t. Drama and angst by the bucket load that had me not able to put it down. This author leads us through so much in ways that will crush you and lift you again and again. What i expected to happen didn’t yet what happened i did. Do I sound confused?? I am but only because my emotions have yet to catch up!! I am not always a fan of triangles but this was written perfectly and kept you engaged totally the whole way through. Absolutely loved this Duet and i’d highly recommend it !

I received the book in exchange for my honest review.
These are my first books by this author. Let me tell you she blew me away!! I was hanging on the edge of my seat through out the whole book. I never knew which was the book was going to go. There were many twist and turns it left me wanting more. These two books were emotional, heartbreaking, dramatic, and one wild ride. I was hooked from the first chapter of the first book to the last page of the second book. I will say the books didn't go completely my way. Sometimes we don't get the HEA we want. But it was a GREAT read anyway!! Excellent books!!

Sam has been a huge fan of the band Def Deception. We are talking posters on the wall and knows almost everything about them. Sam's best friend not only scored tickets to the concert, but also VIP passes to meet the band at the after party. Her dream is coming true!! When she finally makes eye contact with the one and only Hawke Calvin. They have this intense connection which is why things end up going to far. After a one night stand with the illusive Hawke Calvin she puts him behind her. She knows she will probably never hear from him again.

Sam hates shopping which is why she has waited to go shoe shopping for her friends wedding. Her "shopping helper fairy" appears in the name of Josh. With his cheesy lines and easy smile he wins Sam over.

What she doesn't anticipate is Hawke wants a chance just as much as Josh wants a chance. What is a girl to do. The bad ass rocker who she had immediate connection with. The shoes sales man who is going to school to be a lawyer. Unpredictable, fast food eating, undeniable chemistry, and everything you could ever want. Or stable, "normal", predictable, and his whole future ahead of him.

Who will she choose and will it be the right choice?

4 STARS!!!
Book 1 was a good read. Samantha "Sammy" has two men who are willing to give her their hearts but their feelings for her just might be enough. They all have a past that seems to cling to them in a negative ways. However, Sammy is so determined to make her dreams come true and as determined as she is to make her dreams come true, I wish her character didn't come off as being so weak. That is the only thing I disliked about Sammy. She let a lot of things go so easily. Hawke Calvin is lead singer of Def Deception; he's flirtatious, rough edged yet sexy, irresistible and everything she wants. Josh Stanton works in a shoe store at night goes to school during the day to be a lawyer. He is more than meets the eye; he's charming, beautifully handsome, caring and sweet. I know who I want to see Sammy with. This story ends with a major cliffhanger but thank goodness this is a duet and I don't have to wait for book 2.

4.5 STARS!!
Book 2 blew me away in the drama sense. Sam(princess, sunshine), Hawke and Josh will pull at your heartstrings. They will have you loving them one minute and hating them the next; well Sam and Hawke will. There were times I wanted to throat punch Sam while screaming don't do it! I absolutely adored Josh's character, I felt so sorry for both him and Hawke and as much as I wanted to dislike Hawke, I just couldn't. It had an ending that I never expected but also left me with a smile on my face.

This is a duet that should not be missed. It's worth reading! I will be recommending it to my book loving family, friends and groups. I look forward to reading more books from this author.

This boxset needs to be read
Torn Between Two is an amazing read. Especially if you like a book that will take you on an emotional ride. Torn Between Two is a ride worth taking. I so would not want to be in Sam's shoes or maybe I would. Sam is trying to start over in life and boy is she doing it a big way. On one hand you have the rocker Hawke and who wouldn't want a hot rock star. He goes after Sam and works on breaking down her walls for the moment they meet. Oh how do those sparks sure do fly. Then on the other you have the shoe salesman/lawyer Josh and well he is more of a slow burn you don't see coming. Both have their positives and negatives and when the past starts to come back you can feel the struggle with Sam. This book is an amazing read and leaves you on the edge of wonder. I so can't wait to read the next book to find out. I love the chemistry between Hawke and Sam and Josh and Sam. I really wouldn't know who I'd pick at this point. I'm loving Mia Kayla's books and I can't wait for more from her.

Choosing Forever begins where Torn Between Two left off. Sam still battling over which love to choose. Josh is the safe choice and the one that will protect her. Hawke is more explosive and unpredictable. In Choosing forever you will be pulled in and will watch the struggle that Sam goes through as she carries the baby of either Josh or Hawke. I love the ending to this. You feel the pain in the chooses made and will end up loving everyone involved even the ones you didn't care for. There is so much love in this one as well as heartache. I couldn't get enough of Choosing forever.

Samantha's best friend, Chloe, convinced her to let loose and live in the moment on the night that she met Hawke, lead singer of Def Deception. She never dreamed that throwing caution to the wind would eventually leave her torn between two very different men.

Hawke embodies chaos and Sam is drawn to him like a moth to a flame. She loves the excitement of being with Hawke, but while he is away on tour, she is left feeling empty.

Josh is adorable, makes Samantha laugh, and is a great friend. He brings calm to her life. Josh thinks that Sam deserves better than Hawke and is willing to patiently wait for her.

Just when I think that it is obvious who Samantha should choose, Mia Kayla redeems the other guy. Will she choose to be Hawke's Sunshine or Josh's Princess? I am eagerly awaiting the conclusion!

Choosing Forever
Mia Kayla took me on an emotional roller coaster as Sam sorted out her complicated feelings for both Hawke and Josh. I was torn between being frustrated with Sam for her vulnerability and feeling bad for her because she was going to have to break someone's heart. I felt sorry for Josh because he is such a sweetheart and sympathy for Hawke as he battled his demons. All three of them were caught up in a never ending cycle of love and loss. I absolutely did not expect the surprise twists at the end of the book.

Two absolutely fantastic stories!!

Torn Between Two - The first book I've read by this author and it won't be the last! I absolutely loved this book and was drawn in at page one and didn't want to put it down! Samantha is torn between two amazing and different guys, Hawke and Josh. These three all have their painful pasts and heartbreak in their lives, but are pursuing their dreams. I love all of them and I'm dying to find out who Sam chooses. This book ends in a jaw dropping cliffhanger and I cannot wait to read the next book! Fantastic read and I highly recommend!

Choosing Forever - Wow! This book blew me away! Choosing Forever picks up right where Torn Between Two, book 1, left off and I couldn't put it down! This is such an emotional read....drama, angst, heartbreak, joy....it has it all and made me laugh, cry, and swoon. Josh is the ultimate boyfriend....hot, sweet, kind, considerate, loyal, funny.....he's my new favorite BBF! Hawke is the hot, bad boy rockstar who's living life in the fast lane and is battling his demons. Sam is torn between these two and I wavered back and forth between who I wanted her to end up with. I loved them both! The ending was bittersweet and perfect and just made me sigh. I didn't want the story to end. This is a fantastic read!

Scarlets dad, hates Dylan and will do anything to destroy him, even everything he has built up. Dylan is ready and willing to go after him. Will this affect his relationship with Scarlet? With some surprises and family trying to control-what will happen between these new lovers?

This book was a slow start but a couple chapters in I was hooked. Sam meets rock star Hawke Calvin, bad boy himself. He wants her, she wants him, but she tries to hold him off. You'll see that its hard to hold off a sexy man that says all the right things. He was frustrating. He made her wait and she did, she loved hearing from him. Josh, an unexpected friend, holds my heart. He was so giving and nurturing. He wanted the best for Sam even if it meant giving her up for a rock star. When Josh finally has all he can handle, Sam must make a decision. My heart was in my throat while she stood there not saying much while Josh pleaded with her to choose him. This whole story will take your breath away and will make you just root for Sam. Her sanity and her heart is taken on a roller coaster ride.

No spoilers through, this story deserves to be read.
#2 Choosing Forever
This story continues straight on from where #1 ended, and choices need to be made. Sam is trying to put her life back together and there are a few curveballs thrown into the mix which certainly kept me on my toes throughout.
This is a well written box set which had me totally intrigued and hooked throughout, and I highly recommend this talented authors’ work for all.

I'm going to give you an advice with this one, you'll need a lot of tissues, I didn't expect this book to be this way, the author did a wonderful work making us par of the story, you are going to laugh, you'll fall in love, you are going to cry and you'll be angry, its a whirlwind of feelings, each characters is unique and complements perfectly together, the end is unexpected but everything is for a reason, we as person need to grow and at own pace so prepare yourself for this emotional yet beautiful learning.

Torn between two... the title says it all.
I am not normally a fan of love triangles but the author handled this very well.
We have the dependable reliable Josh and the very charismatic Hawke. Both as opposite as they come, and both want Sam.
But warning... the first book ends on a hell of a cliffhanger.
Book 2 picks right up where book 1 left off. Let’s just say I’m glad I didn’t have to wait.
Who will Sam pick...
This book took me on a rollercoaster of feelings.
So sit back and enjoy the ride.

I'm speechless!!! One of my new favorites!

I loved this book!
It was well written, I loved the characters and I loved the story line.
This is and will always be one of my favorite stories.
The ending broke my heart, I literally cried.
SPOILER ALERT!
I had a soft spot for Hawke, and wished that he could've had some sort of interaction with Gracie. I'm sure that she could've been the one to save him in the end.
I'm going to have such a book hangover thanks to Mia's ability to write such an amazing story!
I couldn't definitely see this book become a movie!

This was a duet that took me on a rollercoaster of ups and downs at every turn. I enjoyed the heroine Sam but at times she was a bit to meek for me. She’s is the object of Joshs affection and Hawke is the object of hers to the point that she couldn’t and wouldn’t see anything other then him. I did feel bad for Sam cause she was at a war with who would protect her heart and would embrace every aspect of her. Her heart and head were literally torn.

This store captures your heart, frustrates, makes you cry, keeps you on the edge of your seat and at times you want to scream at all 3. Samantha is a determined woman. She meets Hawke the lead singer of Def Deception when she attends their concert with her friend. Josh is a student working hard to become a lawyer. Both men are willing to give her their hearts but how can she choose between them? The second book takes you on the adventure for Sam to become a chef and to choose between the two men in her life. This boxed set is a great read.

Very good read!

Once I started reading, I realized I had read this book before. I kept reading because I couldn't remember how it ended - and I'm so glad I continued. This was a great story - mostly wonderful, though often sad. It brought out emotions galore. I can't remember if I've ever found myself so close to tears over a story in a book! (Well, I'm sure, though, I felt this way the first time I read it). I highly recommend this book.

Well, these two stories definitely took me on a ride. Hawke and Josh are both compelling men in Sam’s life. The way they are written made it very understandable as to why Sam felt the way she did about them. Mia Kayla’s way with words kept me reading from beginning to end. The stories flowed. I’ll be reading more by her soon. The epilogues were a pleasure to read. As was chapter one from Hawke’s viewpoint. Overall, this was a good read.

The story is so filled with angst and emotion, it will tug at your heartstrings and will make you work for that HEA. But it is totally worth it!
