A fierce lawyer who buries herself in her work. A playboy hockey player who doesn’t believe in happily ever after anymore. Once inseparable, they can’t even be in the same room together without wanting to chew each other’s heads off. But when circumstances spin out of control, they’re drawn back to each other, and their undeniable attraction to one another is present even in the face of lost time. With betrayal holding them back, can they find their way to each other for a second time? Or will the flames that they basked in once upon a time, burn them to the ground for good?
Ezekiel The day I beg her for another chance for us is the day that hell freezes over. I'll f*** my way through everything before I give her a chance to fuck me over again. I hate her… But I can't get her out of my goddamned head.
Gentle Warning: This book very briefly touches on topics (abortion, miscarriage) that may be sensitive for some readers.
Something Bold contains a lovable cast of characters, a generous dash of spice and a heap of sweet; the third standalone centering around Atlanta’s new hockey team and the fun that comes with them. This is a second chance love story that you don’t want to miss!
In addition to the people in her life that indulge her crazy - Aja Cole loves men that smell phenomenal, food that tastes amazing, and something that college makes it hard to do called sleep. She loves feedback and hearing from readers, as her goal is to become better with every release.
This book is soooooo Good, *****Spoiler Alert*****This book shows you what can happen, when there's not enough communication between people, and assuming you know or think someone else is going to feel....I can't wait to see and hear about everyone else.
Miscommunication will always be a downfall. If Mina would have told Zeke the truth about the baby and if Zeke hadn't jumped to conclusions about the baby then they might have been able to save each other from ten years of hurt, hate and resentment. I hate Mina was almost killed in that accident and loss her memory but it did bring something good out of it. Gemma's azz was crazy. How she thought she was going to make Zeke want to be with her I don't know. I'm glad Zeke and Mina threw caution to the wind and chose their happiness.💚💚
So good! Ms. Cole is an awesome storyteller. She creates characters and storylines that keep you invested in the story and riveted. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Atlanta Outlaws series! This latest installment is no exception. Mina and Zeke are two characters you root for as individuals and as a couple. Ms. Cole does a masterful job of weaving their history into the story in a way that explains the tension and also the love of these two. I highly recommend this book and the series.
This book was good, but lagged in the middle. Then, it crammed too much towards the end. It was a rush to resolve issues that were intricate in the book instead of concentrating on the main point of the story. Overall, likeable...
what went wrong between them was quite obvious and predictable BUT THE ANGST THEY SERVED! ugh i loved it, also points for the amnesia trope even if it didn't last long
I am so invested in this series. These two took me through all the emotions. There is so much happening in this book. It's happy and sad and just so emotional.
I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book, I wanted to read about Zeke and Mina relationship so bad.
I love the fact that Aja Cole shows you their past history, from when they we're teens. I love the fact that they bicker from when they we're younger all the way into adulthood. Zeke with his pranks and Mina with her Revenge pranks, made this book hilarious. They were the leaders of their groups and they ended the wars between them, with Mina confessing that she wanted him to kiss her. Which leads Zeke to saying he ONLY kisses his girlfriend. And BAM they get together. I can honestly say I really loved that scene.
I really Love Mina and can very much see myself in her when it comes to going after what she wants. She's is that person that would go and tell someone that she wants them, instead of waiting for the guy to step up to her, she makes the first move.
I have to say that Zeke is not all that smart when it comes to females. He instantly thought Mina was just being jealous when she tries to warn him of a possible stalker. And when he finally realize that she was indeed not jealous but was right, he came begging for her help. And when she doesn't give him what he want he reacts badly too it and they get into another argument. Talk about spoil.
I do agree with Mina when she and Zeke have gotten into a Huge Argument over a certain issue. I have to say that this was not Zeke finest moments. The fact that he expected her to put aside her dreams, and he wasn't going to do the same was ridiculous and selfish. His views of how things were suppose to go was warp and a very old thinking.
But their is on thing about Zeke that I love, is that he learns from his mistakes, and doesn't allow them to happen again.
There is a lot of mistakes and misunderstanding. But their are two strong individuals who are willing to work through it.
I enjoyed the subject of the book. We all would like a do over at some point. I loved Zeke. He was sweet, sensitive and entertaining. It felt he was more into Mina that she was into him. I couldn’t be mad at him for enjoying women because he is a 29 year old successful and beautiful single man so it is not surprising. I disliked A young Mina and the older one, once she got back to herself was starting to display the same traits. As a young girl, she was selfish. It was her way or no way, and instead of communicating with Zeke she went on a rampage. Obviously the mere fact of carrying the baby means that your sacrificing more during the pregnancy. I understand that they were young and she wanted to live before becoming a mother but she could have communicated better. The whole Italian trip was a prime example. They was nothing wrong with going but telling him basically the day before she left was silly. Letting him believe for 10 years she had an abortion was just cruel. She got on her high horse about his assumptions but given her prior behavior it wasn’t so far fetched. In recent times, once she recovered her memory she shut him out again instead of communicating after he made a real effort to let bygones be bygones. The downside of the book for me is that it pretty much happens between 2 people in a house. It would have been nice to see them in the real world dealing with the issues which tripped them before, her fixation on work etc..
This book is the third in this series and I loved it! At first I was hesitant to read this because of the issues that Zeke and Mina had. But I love Aja so I said I’ll try. Then I almost stopped reading because I thought the book was going to have a lot of flashbacks to when they were teenagers. Thank God I trusted Aja! There are flashbacks in the story but not too many and they are so relevant to the story. This was a wonderful book and a great continuation to this series. I can’t wait to see what see Aja is going to do next!
I really enjoyed this! It was nice to read a bwwm book that didn’t involve some element of racism or the parents of the H/h hating the boyfriend/girlfriend bc of their skin color (I don’t hate this per se, but it’s kind of blah to come across). I also liked how the story unfolded, the well-placed flash backs, and the funny/sniping convos btwn Mina and Zeke while she was coming back to herself lol.
I accidentally read the series out of order, which I’m pissed about lol, but now I’ll read book 1.
I think...This is the first time reading this author AND IT WAS A REALLY SOLID PICK! Zeke and Mina are some [characters]...their story was eventful and dang they can hold on to a mad like nobody’s business..but what a difference maturity in age and a near death experience CAN DO TO OPEN the lines of communication up! It doesn’t guarantee instant forgiveness but it does make one take stock in what’s important AND this story did a great job of it. So bravo...on the love, angst, forgiveness and the happily ever after🙌🏽
A very good story with characters that you fall in love with and plenty of surprises. A well written story detailing Mina and Zeke's troubled past relationship that comes full circle after an unexpected traumatic event. This takes Zeke and Mina on a road of discovery, revelations, healing and a second chance at love. Heat that sizzles, situations that make you laugh, you will enjoy reading this book.
There were a few Grammar issues that cause me not to give this story a 5. But overall a solid book. Mina and Zeke were young and dumb and threw away true love. And their bitterness and anger had prevented them from being with each other. It takes a traffic accident for them to face the past. They are both likable characters and I wanted to see reconcile. If you like hockey, sexy white men and an enjoyable few hours of reading this series is for you.
Y’all. Aja Cole does not disappoint. This book was my FAVORITE of the series. I finished it in a matter of hours and all I want is more. After getting to know Mina and Zeke from the previous stories, it was high time they finally got their own. I felt every single emotion from the both of them and it was a great read. Communication is KEY! Regardless, definitely read this book/series.
I am a romantic at heart, this was a sweet second chance romance. I was almost in tears when Mina was in the hospital. It was like I could feel the families pain. Zeke was awesome. So glad him and Mina got their Happy Ever After. This story had a lot of misunderstanding, miscommunication between the main characters. There is also a stalker, attempted murder, sexual harassment, so many layers. Kudos to the author.
I couldn't stop reading I read at work in the car after work I just couldn't stop even when it was bed time I still fought it until I couldn't anymore....I really recommend this book or any others by AJA ;)!!
Zeke and Mina wasted 10 good years over a misunderstanding that either of them could have easily corrected if they both weren't so stubborn. This is a good addition to the series and I recommend this book.
I liked the book and characters. I felt it rushed at the end but all in all a good read. She was a top lawyer but it never went into the area she practices or what made her so passionate about it. And he was a hockey player but nothing more.
This one took me a minute, but it was a good read. I’m not really fond of going back in the past. It took something very horrific to happen to get them to converse again. I liked Mina and Zeke, it was real.
I read this book in a day. Good book to read about forgiveness. I wish some of the old characters from the other books played a part in it a little bit. Nice work
Aww cute story. I love the love hate relationship Mina and zeke had. Karina was an awesome friend. Communication is key. Going to go back and read the other books in the series
Very quick, concise and easy read. I will, patiently await the next installment of this series. The family dynamics makes the series fun and easy reading.
