I seriously hate cliffhangers.... ugh! Still loving Savage tho but story slow to move forward.

I have been anticipating the books about Rick Savage. He was one of the undeveloped characters in the security business that weaves itself through so many of the books that she writes.
He’s rough and gruff and generally seems to always have a bad attitude. But now we know why as Jones peels back the complex layers of his personality just like you would peel an onion.
You definitely need to read book one before diving into this one. And while this story expands a lot deeper into who and the why Rick is who and how he is, it also doesn’t seem to progress very far.
Savage and his girl keep having the same type of conversations. I have to admit that I’m jealous of his complete commitment to her and his absolute all in he gives her.
The story is on fire both in the bedroom and out of the bedroom. Savage is a damn sexy hunk that leaves nothing to the imagination!!
Hot as hell but still more to come in book 3. That’s frustrating but at least we get one more round with the Savage. Jones leaves you wishing this wasn’t pure fiction.

So much going on. Rick is balancing on a very thin thread trying to keep Candace and her father alive against some very skilled men, as well as keeping her away from her slime ball fiancé. And what a slime ball he is! Ugh. That man needs to go down.
He's also trying to prove to Candace that he won't be leaving her again, so we get a really good look into them being very honest about things. Their relationship is building that trust that they need to make it through to the end.
I love the Walker men. I love that so many are showing up to help Rick when he's always been the one helping others. And the best part, the mention of one of my favorite anti-heroes. I really hope that means he is making an appearance in book 3.

Just starting off saying beware of one hell of a cliff hanger. One that will have you throwing your Kindle/Nook/IPad … book. I sat with my mouth open thinking “you have got to be kidding me” … “you’re stopping here?” Should have know better. It’s LRJ and she is the queen of leaving her readers hanging, waiting and I love/hate her for it. So, waiting for Savage Love is really killing me.
I know that Candace and Rick will end up together but, at what cost? Who is going to have to die to get them to where they need to be? Hoping that Tag is one of the ones that ends up dead. What is Candace’s fathers role in everything going on? And, Gabe … oh, Gabe you will get yours at the hands of Rick Savage. Hope you’re enjoying the little game you are playing with the lives of other people. I can only hope that the punishment fits the crime.
So, as we wait to find out what the real reason is Tag pulled Rick into this situation and as we wait to see what Candace’s father has to do with everything and as we wait to see what exactly will happen to Gabe and as we wait to find out how Tag dies and as we wait to get the happy ending that Rick and Candace deserve, we will curse LRJ for giving us such an exciting, suspenseful, sexy story that has us, again, sitting on the edge of our seats. Edgy, consuming, enthralling … just a few words to describe the Savage Trilogy and the writing of Lisa Renee Jones.

Holy heck! This author is killing me!
’He’s not good or bad, right or wrong. He’s a man, flawed and perfect all at once.’
With so many twists and turns as the players in this game are jockeying for position, I couldn’t put this one down! Savage and Candace are learning to trust each other to stay, no matter what the future holds, even as they are fighting to protect those they love...all while bringing down the men who put their lives at risk.
I loved seeing this couple work through their issues, new and old. Candace is such a strong heroine and more than capable of handling a man like Savage. I respected the heck of her ability to stand up to him and demand what she wants and expects from him. There is a bit of push and pull as they go at it, but with each push they come back together all the stronger.
”I can’t be a princess in a glass tower. I have to be --”
I cup her head and kiss her before I say, “A princess by my side with a Sig in her purse?”
“Exactly,” she says. “One I know how to use.”
“Now you’re just trying to get me hot and botherd, baby.”
We not only get our tough guy Savage back again, but we see his wicked humor on display in some wonderful one liners as only Savage can provide. I kinda missed that about him in book one but then again, he was floundering a bit with making Candace accept him. Now, despite their relationship still being a tad shaky, he’s back in full force and ready to do whatever it takes to protect her.
”Fear makes me want to fight. For you. I want to fight for you and us. I want to fight every war you face with you. And you are better with me. But I am also so much better with you. Because we’re better together.”
This isn’t loaded with a lot of action but unveils itself in layer after layer of suspense as all the players take position. Of course, through it all is the undeniable chemistry and the sexual tension between Savage and Candace. These two absolutely sizzle when in the same room together.
And just as everything seems to be coming together, plans are laid out and everyone is moving into place, we get the monster of cliffhangers! Of course, I knew we would but I never saw it ending this way. And now to hurry up and wait for the final book in this trilogy!

While this book moves at a slower pace than the previous one did we do get some answers, but, we are left with just as many questions. My thoughts being, who will be left sanding at the end? I can tell you it's not looking good for Tag or any of his men but only time will tell if he gets out alive.
Savage has always been a mysterious big brute of a man and we found out a little bit of that reason when he was reunited with Candace in the first book SAVAGE HUNGER, but this book gives us much more insight behind the scars.

Savage Burn by Lisa Renee Jones is book two in the Savage Trilogy Series. This continues the story of Candace Marks and Rick Savage, so you really need to read the previous book 'Savage Hunger' first before reading this one. This starts off where we left off in the previous book. Rick is still out to protect Candace and all that she loves. But he is also trying to build and replace the hurt he cause when he left her so long ago. Things are just getting thicker with the danger and working to protect Candace, but she is strong on her own right. This book doesn't ends their story but gets us closer to their ending and working to free the threat. This is a page turning series for me and I can't wait for the next installment.

We start right back up where we left off in Savage Hunger. Savage is hell-bent on protecting Candace and will do anything he has to. We learn more about what Savage has gone through in the past and why he stayed away from Candace. We do have to deal with more of Candace's fiance who is not the nicest man and her father whom we don't know is innocent or not. But with Candace and Savage interactions, we get to have some love on the side with all of the intense action and twists and turns going on.
Savage Burn does end in a high-end cliff hanger so beware!

I still stand by my statement that there is
way more to this story
than meets the eye and I am still very captivated with what is happening, has happened and will happen, but this particular chunk of story moved waaaay slower than I expected. It’s not a bad mark of the story itself, but the author could have condensed/sped this part up quite a bit and still delivered the plot points that we got. In my opinion that is …. And on that note, I have to tell you something …. Wait for it …. Just kidding lol I can’t say anything *insert evil laugh* just kidding again LOL
Here’s something I can say … Savage Burn may not progress the journey of Candace and Ravage very far, but it does give us a huge perspective into Savage himself. The who/why of him is what the focus of this leg of the journey really is. There’s a bit too much of the whole one step forward two steps back thing for my taste right now and the push/pull between Candace and Savage was a bit much but they burned up my kindle with their chemistry just the same!
So, I’m still intrigued, but not as hipped up as I was when I read Savage Hunger. I’m feeling this could have easily been a duet, but maybe not *shrug* We shall see when the author gives us the final leg in their journey with Savage Love!! Stay tuned …..

Savage is back with a vengeance... having to prove to his one true love Candace that he's back for good while also protecting her and her father the General from the mercenary world he came from. That is including keeping her from the slim ball of a fiancee that she is now engaged to. Savage stayed again for over 8 years to protect her and now his worlds are colliding because of an oath he must keep or lose the one woman who has tame the beast inside of the savage.
One thing I love is how Lisa Renee Jones integrate old characters you hate to let go. Walker Security is a bad ass firm, they stand behind their brother in arms whether Savage want their help or not, Adam, refuse to let Savage stand along and he also brought the entire Walker Security clan with him. Now thats brother hood at its best.

Savage is doing what he does best - protecting. Protecting his one and only love, Candace. But it's not easy going, as there are a ton of things, a ton of events and moving parts to her (and their) story. Thank God the man knows what he's doing and that he's motivated by love, or Candace wouldn't make it through the day standing.
I have always been intrigued by Savage but I honestly had no idea the story he was hiding, nor the layers he would have. He's alpha, he's tough, but he's got a softness only for the woman he left behind. Now that she's back in his life, there is no way he's going to let go, no way he's going to leave her unprotected. Whew. The chemistry, the burn between these two is intense, but just when it heats up, the cliffhanger happens, and now I'm stuck waiting for Savage Love for the final part of their story. I am on the edge of my seat waiting!!

Rick is protecting Candace and her father from enemies while trying to keep her fiance at bay. Candace is engaged to a guy that really isn't worthy of her. Rick is determined to show Candace that he will stay and not leave her. A real nail biter with a cliffhanger ending.

Savage Burn started with an explosive bang and left off with a mother of a cliffhanger that will have fans gasping and counting down the days until the finale, Savage Love, gets released.
Oh, Lisa Renee Jones. Boy do you know the exact point where to leave a story for optimal shock value. It’s a good thing your readers know you’ll make good with a fantastic conclusion to this trilogy. (lol) No, but seriously, this is definitely one of those times that you’ll want to not only read these books in sequential order where the next one picks up where the previous left off. But you’ll also want to wait until the full trilogy is released if you don’t like cliffhangers, because holy cow! I don’t think it could have ended on a more pivotal moment. Read More

PREMISE:
This series revolves around Rick Savage and his long-lost love, Candace Marks. MY MUSINGS:
SAVAGE BURN was absolutely SENSATIONAL! Lisa Renee Jones delivered the goods in this second chapter, penning a dynamic, smolderingly seductive, and wildly entertaining romantic suspense tale teeming with palpable emotion, torrid passion and twists and turns galore!
Gah. Rick Savage is so big and powerful and mouthwateringly alpha he RUINED me for all other book boyfriends! With each subsequent book, I just keep falling harder and harder for this badass bodyguard. Talk about a man of many facets! I mean, he makes me giggle one minute with his outlandishly crass wisecracks but then can slay my heart with his raw aching vulnerability a moment later! And I adore how he comes across as a cold-blooded killer when facing down his foes yet then morphs into a big ol softie when it comes to Candace, his one true love. And while I thought I had a handle on what makes him tick, as this current story unfolds, I discovered that there’s much more to him than meets the eye. And as we begin to see chinks in this menacing ex-mercenary’s iron clad suit of armor, we gain much insight into not only his checkered past but into the inner recesses of his tormented psyche.
And as in book one, Candace, the beautiful, beloved woman he would annihilate anyone to protect, brings out such an aching tenderness in this magnificent beast that you will be left SWOONING! In turn, his smart and savvy, and outwardly fragile, other half proves yet again to be more than worthy of his complete and utter devotion. She’s the sweet balm to his wounded soul. And is more than capable of battling their adversaries right alongside her man!
While this book moves at a more leisurely pace than the first installment, there’s no shortage of emotional intensity, red hot chemistry, edge of your seat drama or sizzling hot encounters. And HOLY SMOKES! I just could not get enough of this combustible couple. The sparks between these two are so flammable you will be fanning yourself off, and I felt that Savage’s primal animal magnetism coupled with his foul-mouthed caveman persona played off well against Candace’s sweet and sophisticated yet fiery nature. Sighhhh….their high-octane interactions made my girly bits quiver and my heart skip a beat. But will Savage be able to keep his "Candy baby" safe AND reclaim the only woman who stands a chance at taming the demons raging inside of him?
As for the overarching mystery plot, there are many players thrown into the mix which makes the suspense angle even more exhilarating! It’s truly a race against the clock for Savage and Candace as the danger escalates. He refuses to let the sins of his past to harm Candace, or to allow her to be a pawn in a power struggle involving a nefarious U.S. Government society that hits close to home for them both . These dirty rotten scoundrels have no gumption of wielding their influence to gain the upper hand but…EEEP…this is RICK SAVAGE they are dealing with! He is a ruthless man of action and NOT to be underestimated, especially when his beloved woman’s welfare is at stake. MY MUSINGS:
SAVAGE BURN was absolutely SENSATIONAL! Lisa Renee Jones delivered the goods in this second chapter, penning a dynamic, smolderingly seductive, and wildly entertaining romantic suspense tale teeming with palpable emotion, torrid passion and twists and turns galore!
Gah. Rick Savage is so big and powerful and mouthwateringly alpha he RUINED me for all other book boyfriends! With each subsequent book, I just keep falling harder and harder for this badass bodyguard. Talk about a man of many facets! I mean, he makes me giggle one minute with his outlandishly crass wisecracks but then can slay my heart with his raw aching vulnerability a moment later! And I adore how he comes across as a cold-blooded killer when facing down his foes yet then morphs into a big ol softie when it comes to Candace, his one true love. And while I thought I had a handle on what makes him tick, as this current story unfolds, I discovered that there’s much more to him than meets the eye. And as we begin to see chinks in this menacing ex-mercenary’s iron clad suit of armor, we gain much insight into not only his checkered past but into the inner recesses of his tormented psyche.
And as in book one, Candace, the beautiful, beloved woman he would annihilate anyone to protect, brings out such an aching tenderness in this magnificent beast that you will be left SWOONING! In turn, his smart and savvy, and outwardly fragile, other half proves yet again to be more than worthy of his complete and utter devotion. She’s the sweet balm to his wounded soul. And is more than capable of battling their adversaries right alongside her man!
While this book moves at a more leisurely pace than the first installment, there’s no shortage of emotional intensity, red hot chemistry, edge of your seat drama or sizzling hot encounters. And HOLY SMOKES! I just could not get enough of this combustible couple. The sparks between these two are so flammable you will be fanning yourself off, and I felt that Savage’s primal animal magnetism coupled with his foul-mouthed caveman persona played off well against Candace’s sweet and sophisticated yet fiery nature. Sighhhh….their high-octane interactions made my girly bits quiver and my heart skip a beat. But will Savage be able to keep his "Candy baby" safe AND reclaim the only woman who stands a chance at taming the demons raging inside of him?
As for the overarching mystery plot, there are many players thrown into the mix which makes the suspense angle even more exhilarating! It’s truly a race against the clock for Savage and Candace as the danger escalates. He refuses to let the sins of his past to harm Candace, or to allow her to be a pawn in a power struggle involving a nefarious U.S. Government society that hits close to home for them both . These dirty rotten scoundrels have no gumption of wielding their influence to gain the upper hand but…EEEP…this is RICK SAVAGE they are dealing with! He is a ruthless man of action and NOT to be underestimated, especially when his beloved woman’s welfare is at stake. As we pick up right back up after the first book in the series, so you do NEED to read Savage Hunter first before touching this one, you are thrown back into the world that Jones has created. What I love about this installment, is the stunning connection between Rick and Candace. How he is trying to rebuild what was lost even with the heightened suspense surrounding them. Their push and pull was amazing as well as the story’s concept. Seeing these characters build through this one from the first was absolutely brilliant. But can we please have the third book?!?! I need the answers! I am in love with this series and everything about it. So if you are a Jones fan, you will love it!

This one ends with a huge cliffhanger. With everything that Rick and Candace have gone through they are finally in a place where their secrets are out in the open but it might not be enough to save them.

ACK! Another cliffhanger, but that was to be expected, after all this is a trilogy and only book two. Savage is still trying to protect Candace and her father while the Walker gang gathers info on Gabriel and Tag. Who will come out standing in the end of this roller coaster of a ride? We will have to wait for the next book to find out!

I really liked the premise of the story and the characters were engaging, though completely whiny. It just keeps repeating the push and pull of should I or shouldn’t I. Leaving the reader hearing the same verbiage over and over again.

Savage regrets that he hurt Candace all those years ago and is determined to protect her from the past that refuses to stay buried. This book picks up, right after book one ends, and the web of lies, and deceit, and the twists and turns, just keep on coming. This was another amazing read in this series, the characters are well written, and have explosive chemistry, and their story kept me on the edge of my seat until the end, I can't wait to continue this series in the next book. Maybe it’s just me, maybe it’s just how trilogies roll, but the second book always serves as a bridge between the beginning that pulls you in and the ending that gives the answers you so desperately seek.
A lot of world building, story building, and chemistry in this book...we learn a little of what we crave to know, but the way it ends let’s me know how much there’s still go.

Omg!!!!! This just keeps getting better and better and we still don’t know how it’s going to end and who’s behind what and for what reason. Savage is still Savage and Candace isn’t anyone’s doormat. They are so many players I still don’t know why this is happening but the suspense is just ahhhhhh!!!! And the cliffhanger?!?! Oh myyyyy Savage is going to lose his mind!!! I can’t wait!!
