I loved these stories! Each adventure was crazy! Golems, death magic, dragons, and so much more! Exciting stories with great characters that kept me interested! Six different stories that introduced fun supernatural creatures and paranormal adventures that were totally wild! Hope there will be a season two!
Bought this on Chirp and narration was terrific!

This one introduced Jack to Marin the dragon (and us the readers to both of them). The world built is minimal; though it is not very complicated and probably why readers will easily follow it. The case involves an earth witch who went missing, and it involves the wood and very angry .

This one brings Jack and Marin to catch a medium that seems to be able to take memories from other people. It's a bit scary to be honest... losing your memory like that. I feel sad for the victims.

Spiralling paranormal investigations
The main character takes being an investigator and junk shop owner way too seriously. He hires (through no fault of his own) an assistant who is also a dragon. The insane adventures ensue.

Followed the style of noir with an added dash of dragon - I loved the style, the events, the characters.

This was a decent urban fantasy, but it's no Harry Dresden. The cases lack a certain degree of intensity and weight; the stories tend to be fairly linear. The third of the six has not received the copy editing that the other five have, and contains a number of basic errors, though the others are pretty good (kudos to the copy editor, since if they all started out like the third one, there was plenty of work to do).
Enjoyable light reading, but it isn't going on my Best of the Year list.

This a set of three amazing paranormal stories.
Episode four.
The mysterious animal who Jack feeds leaves Marin a message that there is something bad in the attic. When they go to help, they find a very strong magical prescience. How to help is the question and are they totally out of their league.
This is yet another unique and engaging story from the Spirelli Paranormal Investigation series. Like the others in this series, it is creative, full of well crafted characters and has magic as its focus. The bantering between the characters is witty and containing snippets of humour flushing out the characters, displaying their strengths and foibles. The sense of compassion and the way they creatively solve the problem adds a great deal to the depth of the story. The storyline flows smoothly and quickly and is full of surprises. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to more amazing adventures from this dynamic team.
Episode five.
A geolocation book that uses death magic was up for sale. Jack and Marin were tasked with buying it. The book was dangerous and obtaining it was a lot more complicated than they thought.
This is the fifth episode from the Spirelli Paranormal Investigation series. The characters are dynamic and the interactions between them was witty and engaging. The storyline is full of action, interesting paranormal characters and magical twists. It is yet another great paranormal action/adventure from a wonderful series.
Episode six.
A magical house set to be torn down, brings Jack and Marin to the rescue, only to find themselves outmatches. Marin’s dad comes to help and Jack encourages Marin to use this as an opportunity to resolve some dragon family issues.
Creative magical entities, danger, family drama is packed into the sixth episode in the Spirelli Paranormal Investigation series. The witty and humorous narrative and the action packed storyline keep you interested in the story until its conclusion. I really enjoyed the uniqueness of the characters and banter between them. I also enjoyed the mystery and the creative way it was solved. If you like short paranormal mysteries with twists you will enjoy this story.
This is a wonderful, fun lighthearted series with great characters.

#1 ABOUT THE DISAPPEARING CLIENT
Cute story about Jack Spirelli's client that disappeared while in the forest, in a ghost's magical bubble.
#2 THE FORGOTTEN MEMORIES
Cool one about a man who stole people's memories. And had been doing that for over 200 years.
#3 THE FLEEING WITCH
This was about Sylvia, a witch, who wanted to leave her not-so-nice coven, and hired Jake and Marin to get her safely from Austin to London, while witches were after her to kill her.
#4 SOMETHING NASTY II THE ATTIC
Jack finally met his "house guest," which turned out to be an Arkan Sonney, a hedgehog, that likes crabmeat and shrimp. And Jack "melded" with an old, old dragon.
#5 THE GEOLOCATING BOOK
This one was about a book that was very old, that Jack and Marin were sent after and about a knife that only had to touch you and you'd die. Fortunately, Jack didn't die when it grazed his skin.
#6 HEARTBEAT IN THE HOUSE
This one kind of left you without answers. A house that was possessed by an entity and the old man who owned it asked Jack and Marin to help him get rid of it. I guess they did because it just left and no one knew where it went. The End.
Sooo, okay! My iPad says the word fuck was used 2 times but I can assure you it was used 10 or 15 times. The book read damn or shit but the narrator would say fuck. Apparently the author rewrote it and changed the worse swear words. There was no romance.
As for the narration: Roberto Scarlato did a fabulous job, on the voices as well as the emotions.

I thought the idea of Marin - a dragon - was good; it works so well in the Genevieve Cogman books. However, in these books there are too many problems.
Jack is written as an unpleasant arsehole - he has not traits to minimise this downright unpleasantness, Consequently, one cannot engage with the character. I just don't care what happens to him.
I don't see why Marin would not burn him to ash within hours of meeting him.
All the characters are poorly drawn, the worst s probably Bob who seems a brilliant idea but speaks in shrugs and head nods. What a complete waste of a character.
The we come to the actual stories: they are simply uninteresting with no sense of excitement or adventure. The writing is pedestrian and the whole book so very dull.
When I compare this to Shannon Meyer, who I think a brilliant writer if similar fantasy books, I realise that I would never by another book by Ms. Baray.

This was a fun, candyfloss urban fantasy PI story (or collection of short stories/novellas) with a Dresden-esque MC and his dragon shifter assistant/sidekick/associate/whatever-she-is.
I mostly enjoyed it while I was reading it but didn't feel any real sense of urgency about starting the next episode each time I finished one, so by the time I got to the end of Episode... 4? 5? I DNFed the collection on the basis that I was mainly continuing to read because I "should" and there were a bunch of other books on my TBR that felt more compelling.

Very enjoyable
I loved the stories in this collection. I like the main character , a non magical man dealing with all kinds of magical problems and people. I love the secondary main character, she is very interesting. I am curious to see how this team grows throughout this series.

Fun book collection and great characters
This was a fun book collection of the first six stories that I have read following these characters. I really enjoyed the action, magic, and all the excitement that a non magical main lead has when dealing with magical problems. I recommend this series and this book.

Well written, fast paced series of stories. Jack runs the Spirelli Paranormal Investigations, posing as the Junk Shop. Clients include a missing person, missing memories, malicious witches, dragons, magic books, magic houses. I just discovered this author, and I will definitely buy future books from her.

Surprisingly good
I think the best part of the books is the world and the way the majority of 'magical world" operates is refreshingly different to the droves of urban fantasy out there. Good read.
