1 star, disliked. I got 30 chapters into the comic and was disappointed.

It's a lot like solo levelling, so if you really liked that, then you will enjoy this. However, I only read that for the novelty, and at this point it's all worn off for me.

Characters: 1/5
The mc is one dimensional and is only trying to get stronger. He doesn't care about anyone or anything except his strength. While that's fine, it makes the characterization rather one dimensional, so the story will have to rely on side characters, world, and story to keep the reader hooked. Unfortunately, there are no side characters of note.

World: 1/5
Things are not explained at all, which leaves many questions in the reader's mind. Dungeons pop up and spew out monsters, but nobody reacts other than some gamers with powers who like to slay dungeons. We open seeing the military decimating orcs with machine guns, but people go into dungeons full of orcs only wielding swords. We know that dungeons are dangerous because they spew out monsters, but there is no talk of militaries just setting up kill zones outside dungeons or just tossing in some nukes and being done with the story. The most based and relevant CAS platform of all time, the A-10, would have a chance to shine while mowing down monsters forced to walk through hallways with 30m tall concrete walls. This whole things seems half-baked. It's like someone copied and pasted the most common paragraphs of K-novels and didn't write in an actual story.

Story: 1/5
It's just boring. We follow the mc in his single minded quest to get stronger. We literally just watch him getting loot. It's a drag, since there are no greater goals. The story gets into some politiking, but because there are no fleshed out side characters, there is no reason for the reader to care.

[Review for the webtoon on Tapas]. This was a fun reincarnation dungeon crawler anti-hero story that draws very heavily on the usual genre tropes. The main character has extra knowledge because it's his second time living, and he uses that to his advantage to get stronger more quickly and make the right kinds of allies and enemies.

There's nothing hugely original about this story, and the worldbuilding is pretty simple. The story was definitely slow to get me emotionally invested, because it took 25-50 chapters to really understand why the MC was "betrayed" in his previous life.

The strength of this story was in the pacing. It was very consistent, all the way to the end of the 150ish chapters, without really sagging anywhere in the middle. There was a good balance of grinding through the levels, but also keeping you connected to the over-arching plot of wanting to "kill the hero". So much so that the ending actually felt a little anti-climactic, because it was handled with the same lack of fanfare that all the preceding battles had.

Overall, this was a really solid read. Nothing earth-shattering, just good fun.

When the MC's name, Kim Woojin, was just mentioned, I was like, why does it sound so very familiar? Sure the premise wasn't the most original but why is the sense of familiarity even stronger this time? It turns out that in one book with a similar game theme that I've read, the MC's name is Kim Hajin. AND THEN, in another book where the MC is also a necromancer, his name is Kang Woojin! Do authors run on the same wavelength or what?

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. It's not a deep book. Its scope is very limited in a sense, but within that limit, it explores it well and satisfyingly. I thought that it was very interesting at first when the MC changed his skill set from his last life for once, and correspondingly encountered a few surprises because he hadn't fought this way before. With other reincarnation books the MC often repeats their route but do it better this time around. This little detail went away fairly quickly, but I still appreciated it. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with this book.

I rather enjoyed this. I've read a lot of romance lately and this was a nice palate cleanser. No romance unless you count Oh Seo-Chan's love of money and Lee-Sejun's love of food. (laugh)

A weak to strong with a carefully plotted revenge scheme is always a nice break. Some people might have wanted a more in-depth ending but my feeling is, at that point he was so strong and he'd accomplished what he needed to, anything else was superfluous.

Yes there are a lot of elements similar to Solo Leveling, but there is actually way more depth in Kill The Hero. Finding a good English translation is not too hard as it's been translated by another group. The Machine Translated version is very poor.

While the starting was not my cup of tea and I had to stop at chp 40 something, I'm glad I picked it up again and finished it. I didn't really expect to feel satisfied with the ending because the title literally says it all but well, I liked it. I think they end well. So yeah, I gave it 3/5 ⭐⭐⭐

I love Woowoo, there is no denying it. But what happened to the epilogue? Can't he pay for Jin-ah for once? Such a cheapskate!!

I would have liked it if the epilogue involved the attack of the last dungeon instead, but I do like Oh Se-chan's suggestion of the creator restarting the game.

I liked the idea and the structure of the story, but thought I couldn't finish it, I dropped it on chapitre 150. Maybe I'll finishe it when I could on manga version . . .

I really, really love the ending where he ended Lee Sejun's life without any melodramatic dialogue

-Dropped Ch 42

Attempt #2

A bad rendition of Seoul Station Necromancer. If you especially love the Second Change subgenre with game elements you'll probably like this. While I really enjoy works like this, it's only if they're well written and/or entertaining.

The biggest issues of this novel is the bland characters/setting and the insane levels of deus ex machina the author utilizes to make the protagonist get everything he wants.
