How did they do this? Fix Her Upper: Reclaim Your Happy Space faces dark issues with truth ... and levity. Yes, that's right. Levity. Beth Duewel's story of sitting in the dentist chair made me laugh out loud (yes, for sure). Because Rhonda and Beth offered this work with levity I dropped all my barriers and was excited to let them in. I wanted to hear what they had to say.

Yet make no mistake. This isn't just fun and games. Their anchor into Happy is their relationship with Christ. They make Christianity look attractive. The message isn't preachy, it's offered with a smile and hug.

We've all at one time or another lost our Happy Space. This book helps us find it again ... or find it anew.

Fix Her Upper: Find Your Happy Space by Beth Duewell and Rhonda Rhea is a delightful read. These ladies have a gift at sharing God’s message as if they are talking to you across the table with coffee. You can relate to them and their stories.

I have met both ladies in person and interviewed them. So when reading, I could hear them speaking in their own voices which added to the experience of the book.

I just love when you read a line in a book and you know it was meant just for you. Are you like me and you wake up in the middle of the night; consistently! Mine is 3:00 am. Now I have a verse to remember when this happens.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23). We can have God’s solid love and refreshing mercy. And it’s new. Every morning, Lord. Every 2 a.m. Every. 2. a. m.

I am confident that you will also find nuggets that tug at your heart and help you find your happy. The book is both humorous and encouraging.

I received this book from publisher/author and was not required to write a positive review.

This book is a hoot! Okay, maybe it's not that the book is a hoot, it can't be blamed for it—but these two authors...they're the culprit! Beth Duewel and Rhonda Rhea keep you in stitches throughout the book.

I barely made it through the first chapter! As Beth describes (complete description) of her trip to the dentist, I laughed so hard. If you've been to the dentist - you'll so relate to the very first chapter.
Yay "suHERpowaaar!"

But they don't leave you hanging, they keep it up. This entire book is full of some belly laughing that all of us need. However, these ladies also encourage and point us to the real superpower of God.

We all want to be Happy, and these ladies give us great tips on how to reclaim our happy or strengthen even more.

Definitely a fabulous read for yourself or even a friend. It won't disappoint!

Disclaimer: I received a digital copy in advance with no expectation in return. The thoughts and comments above are my own.

Fix Her Upper truly helps readers build happiness into the messy realities of their lives. With humorous life-stories and conversational warmth, Rhonda and Beth invite us to join them on a journey to enhance our living with joy and faith. The clever quips and quirky foibles render this a fun read. Yet this isn't a whitewash over a lifeless movie set merely put up for entertainment's sake. The book's Biblical truths shine through with profound meaning. Rhonda and Beth lend their faithful words to help each of us on our next steps in this chaotic, ongoing renovation adventure we call life.

Do you know someone who recently received news? As co-author, Beth Duewel mentions in Ch. 3, this might be news of a job change, a financial change, or a health change. Anything that feels like it’s “messin’ with my happy.”

If so, then FIX HER UPPER: Reclaim Your Happy Space, written by Duewel and Rhonda Rhea, offers encouragement as well as reminders of how to hang on to the joy.

Duewel and Rhea take turns sharing personal stories to help illustrate the scriptural truths about God’s gift of joy. Some are precious-sweet stories that made me smile, like Duewel’s story about her Dad with Alzheimer’s using his oxygen mask as a telephone. Other stories are downright hilarious, like Rhea’s rant about her dislike of cleaning, and how it ran in the family.

“. . . but I do remember having to say to a teen at least once, ‘Son. You have to clean your room. We’re out of spoons.’”

If the humor in Reclaim Your Happy Space doesn’t cheer you, the wisdom will.

“Using God’s joy as an instrument to live life is simpler than we think. We simply hand it back over. We trust God to do and fix and love like He says He will. Despite popular opinion, joy is not about us. Rejoicing happens outside of ourselves. For me, that’s really good news.” – Beth Duewel

It's good news for me as well. I joyfully recommend this book.

Sometimes we all need a little help finding our happy space when life tries to hide it from us. Rhonda Rhea and Beth Duewel deliver a wonderful guide to help readers reclaim the happy that many haven’t even realize is lost.

If we are to find our joy in the Lord, why do we feel so down at times? Is your life in need of a renovation to find your lost happy and restore the joy when it seems all is lost? These questions and many more are answered in a way that will bring a smile to readers faces and show how to live your very best life. We were not meant to survive, we are meant to thrive with the Lord beside us. The authors of the previous Fix Her Upper books bring a new installment that is sure to excite readers and bring back the lost Happy!

I don’t know about you, but sometimes it is rather hard to be happy. Even when things are good, it can still be hard to believe it is okay to be happy. I absolutely loved the way this book showed me it was okay to be happy, we deserve to be happy. Our Father wants us to be Happy. Think about that for a minute, our Father in heaven truly wants us to be happy, that is the most wonderful thing of all. Rhonda describes it beautifully when she says, “It’s impossible to whine about the “robe of righteousness.” It’s borrowed from Christ. And though this whiny woman doesn’t deserve it, it fits perfectly.” We don’t deserve the mercy and goodness we receive, but we receive it nonetheless. Each chapter is laced with happy goodness and scripture that hits the point home that we have so many reasons to be happy. Along with scripture, both Rhonda and Beth deliver the message with such humor I found myself laughing out loud at times and praising God for the happy moments of reading these words and taking to heart what was written within. At times it really can be hard to be happy, life is tough and sometimes the darkness can seem overwhelming. During those times, we need to remember these resources we have at our fingertips to bring the happy back to the forefront. I recommend this book to everyone! No matter what you are going through, look to this book to help you find something to be happy about and remember how much the Father loves us all.
