Anthony Hill was born in Melbourne on 24 May, 1942. In a varied career he has been a newspaper and television reporter, political journalist, antique dealer, speech-writer for Australia's Governor-General, and now full-time author.
‘For every dog there has been and for everyone who has loved them.’
This book is an eloquent tribute to Anthony Hill’s great mate, his dog Sebastian. Sebastian was rescued as an abandoned pup, and quickly made his way into the Hill family.
‘There are dogs for whom you are the central fact of their existence. Who live not only with you but for you. Who return your affection in full measure – and then give more and more, inexhaustibly. That was Sebastian.’
A delightful tale of love and loyalty told over 86 pages. As I was reading it, I was remembering my own ‘shadow dogs’: two little terriers who were each part of our lives for over 17 years. Little dogs with enormous hearts. Little dogs who are sadly missed but will never be forgotten.
