Until now.
Several dragons have fallen ill, and some are even dying.

Nicole Zoltack is a USA Today bestselling author who loves to write romances. Of course. She did marry her first kiss, after all!
When she’s not writing about knights, superheroes, or witches, she enjoys spending time with her loving husband, three energetic young boys, and precious baby girl. She enjoys riding horses (pretending they’re unicorns, of course!) and going to the PA Renaissance Faire dressed in garb. She’ll also read anything she can get her hands on. Her current favorite TV shows are The Walking Dead and Stranger Things.
If you are a lover of fantasy this book you will love. Age of Dragons was slow in the beginning, which is prominent in many fantasy books. Immediately the reader is whisked away to a world of Dragons, Magic, and Stones. The feeling of enchantment ends suddenly when things start going wrong.
I love dragons. Ever since I picked up Eragon by Christopher Paolini in my local Waterstones bookshop as a teenager, I have been enamored by dragons. I’m often swayed by books with dragons on the cover and that was the case here, with Age of Dragons. The cover is gorgeous. And I was so pleased that the first chapter soared straight into the action with Nicai and her dragon Murro, as they fly the skies. We quickly discover a dragon falling out of the sky and that’s where the book started to go sideways for me a little.
As much as I love dragons, I’m not a fan of books about dragons dying en masse and slowly. However, my biggest issue with this book was the logic and believability of its characters. Many of them melded into the same character and I didn’t feel connection to any of them, not even the talking dragons or the enemies-to-lovers story line. That could be explained by the fact that although this is marketed as a book - part of a trilogy - its novella sized. The characterization is underdeveloped and that sadly took me right out the story.
Thank you to the author for providing me with a review copy via Story Origin
If you love dragons, and who doesn't... then you need to read this book. Something is happening to the dragons and no one knows what or why. Will the two dragon riders be able to figure it out in time? This is a great story that ended way too quickly for me. Can't wait to read the next one
Unique elements and world. Talking dragons, giants, phoenixes, and some cool magical powers make the story entertaining. There are moments the story goes too slowly, but still an interesting story. People bond with the talking dragons, so that’s a fun element to the story. Nicai and her dragon, and Koll and his dragon, all go on a quest to find out why dragons are dying and getting sick; some fun adventures as they travel through the land. Nicai and Koll don’t exactly get along because Nicai thinks Koll is too arrogant. Really though Nicai is the one that is too sensitive to pretty much everything he says, so she’s the one snapping at him most times and she even acts violent towards him. I liked her strength, but she needs to think of others; her pride gets in the way of her growth. There’s no romance in this, so that was a disappointment; maybe in future books. I would’ve liked to have at least a glimpse of some romance, but nope. There’s some typos, but otherwise the writing is fine. I would’ve like a bit more story progression in this book, but I am interested to see where this story goes in the next books. This one does end on a cliffhanger.
Dragons are dying. All of a sudden dragons are dying. Baby dragons not being able to fly then dying, and adult dragons suddenly falling from the sky killing or injuring their riders, and then the dragons turn to gray and then stone. Dead!! But why? Nicai saw one dragon fall and was able with her dragon Murro to save the rider only. Now she and another rider Koll and his dragon, who she and Murro both dislike, have been tasked by the King and Queen to find out what is happening. They were given dragon blood and Nicai saw a dark dreadful past and future, and Koll saw the present. Both dreams leading them where they need to go to find answers. But danger is ahead. Creatures long thought dead or extinct are coming for them. Giants, Phoenixs, and more. Nicai’s dream centers on the evil one who created death and mayhem in the past and a huge garnet jewel. But will the jewel bring about salvation or plunge her into darkness. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received this book as an Arc copy. World building was incredibly unique and well done, and character building was exceptional as well. The storyline and plot line were well thought out and well developed. The story follows the main character called Nicai who is a dragon rider and an evil comes into her land, and so begins the mysteries, adventures, and her discoveries. This is another page turner, midnight oil burner with fast-paced action. This book has only 15 chapters and is a very nice first in series book there are two more books in the series. I do highly recommend this book for anyone that loves stories regarding dragons, mysteries, fast-paced action, and magical realms. This is an author you're going to want to add to your favorite's every book that I have read so far has been extremely well written. Her books grabs ahold of you and holds your attention until you have finally reached the very end, and it leaves you wanting more.
A relatively short story to introduce the series. It was fun learning how these dragons and riders get along with each other and with other pairs. The main character is driven by her need to support the dragons and do whatever she can for them. Unfortunately it means some neglect to her dragon, who seems to accept it in stride. She is paired with another team to search for a problem plaguing dragons.
Then comes some unexplained magic that slows that slows the quest. Then a total cliff hanger ended which actually means nothing in the story is resolved - just groundwork laid for the the rest of the series. Have to say I was disappointed.
Quest to Save the Dragons! Nicai Bright and her dragon Murro rescues a fellow dragon rider when he fell from the sky but couldn’t save his dragon. Upon learning that dragons are dying she sets out with Koll Hawk and his dragon Ivna to find out why and hopefully find a cure. A wonderful combination of fast paced drama, talking dragons, magic, visions, giants, and a Phoenix made for a very enjoyable read. I love it and look forward to reading more of the Stones of Amaria series. Enjoy!
I received an advance copy and am happy to leave my honest review.
Well I am so glad I found this series. I really enjoyed it, the story is original and fortunately different from the usual ones that you read about dragons. The character of the protagonist is full of spirit and the dialogues are fun and natural. A really good reading (I look forward to the next volume of the series) This book didn't disappoint at all, and I'd happily recommend to anyone.
I received this book from the author via StoryOrigin as a review copy for a fair and honest review and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love dragon stories and this is definitely one of my new favorites! It has everything a dragon lover could ask for - quests, valiant heroes, fantastical creatures and magic. The characters are well developed and continue developing throughout the book as they have to work with people/dragons they dislike and over come various situations. This is dragon fantasy at its best and I highly recommend it for other dragon lovers out there!
I really enjoyed this book and the MC Nicai who is a talented and brave dragon-rider who happens upon a fellow dragon rider and dragon in distressed. Nicia manages to save the rider but the dragon dies. This sets our MC out to try to find and stop what is hurting the dragons and riders. I would definitely recommend this novel the world building is great and I was able to invest in the characters I look forward to seeing where this story goes.
An exceptional book, I was totally engrossed with this book. Beautifully written with no errors and a great storyline, impressive worldbuilding, and well fleshed out characters, this is a book that you can really get your teeth into whilst enjoying every succulent page. It is a gem of a book and I highly recommended it to anyone who enjoys a really great book. I look forward with anticipation to the next in series. EK
Age of Dragons: Stones of Amaria, my second read from author Nicole Zoltack and the first book of the Stones of Amaria, caught my attention in the opening pages & I never put it down until completed. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author. "I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
This book had me hooked from the start. It was action packed, full of dragons of course, and a hint of what might come in the following series. If you want an easy and quick read, this is the book for you!
What a wonderful start to a new adventure. I love to find out what the Garnet stone does with Nicai and how Koll helps. It is a wonderful story about dragons, giants, and Phoenix's and more. If you love adventures you will love this book.
I love this author. Not used to this type of book but so far so good. I have to read on to see what happens next. That garnet stone looks to be the beginning of a new darkness.
Interesting storyline with twists and turns as riders and dragons strive to save the realm while fighting using magic against giants and other creatures.
I loved this book. Dragonriders and dragons go on an adventure to save dying dragons and the kingdom. I recommend this book to every dragon loving reader.
Recommended for Anyone who has dreamed of being a Dragonrider
Nicai is a dragonrider. She and her dragon Murro save another dragonrider but, sadly, they are unable to save his dragon. Strange events are happening and dragons are dying. She and Murro go on a quest with a fellow dragonrider to find out how to stop what is happening. I would definitely recommend this novel to anyone who has dreamed of flying with a dragon to save the kingdom.
I think this is a very nice YA fantasy book. It has two young people who choose to fight for something greater than themselves. Nicai is a dragon rider who witnesses a dragon falling out of the sky. She and her dragon barely manage to save the other rider, but find the dragon dead with no obvious cause of death. While checking on the rider at the palace infirmary, Nicai gets an audience with the royal family and finds out that some dragons have lost the ability to fly. When she goes to investigate a young dragon who can no longer fly, the child dies in her arms spurring her to do something. She asks to be assigned the quest of finding out what is affecting the dragons. Another dragon rider is chosen to work with her.
While Koll is one of the last people she would have chosen to go on the quest with, the two set off with their dragons. Great adventures and perils await them, and their story does not end with this book. I hope to read on in the series and find out what happens next.
I was given a copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
Age of dragons is a short story in the Stones of Amaria series. The way that Nicole Zoltac portrays Dragons and their Riders is very different to most writers, dragons still choose their riders but they live wherever they like and the dragons can talk to anyone. Riders are trained and are provided with everything they need including a magic staff that the dragon powers. When a dragon suddenly falls from the sky and dies the MC and her dragon are asked by the king to find out why dragons are getting sick and dying. The writing flows smoothly and the story keeps you interested with plenty of action and lots of arguing between the two riders that have been sent on the quest, right through to the ubrupt ending. There are another three books that continue on from this one so I’m anxious to continue the story as it ends in a cliffhanger. I received this book from StoryOrigin in exchange for a voluntary review and I recommend this book for teens and adults, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I have.
Nicai Bright is a Dragon Rider and Murro is her Dragon. One day the two are flying when suddenly she spies another Dragon Rider and Dragon falling from the sky. Nicai and Murro streak towards the falling Rider and with help of a little magic they catch him. They lose sight of the dragon but rush to the castle with the fallen rider. They drop Bal Silver off and return to look for the Dragon. When they find it they discover she is dead. This starts Nacai and Murro along with another Rider Koll Hawk and his Dragon Ivna on a quest to find out why Dragons are dying. I really enjoyed this book and the cliffhanger has me wanting more. I received a free copy of the book for an honest review and this is it. I recommend this book to all Dragon lovers.
So I read this because another author I like is part of this shared saga. Said author usually writes adult romance so I wasn’t expecting this to be as ya as it was, but that really wasn’t a problem. However this book was just not good. There were so many grammatical errors it made me want to stop reading about 1/4 of the way in. But I kept going because I would really like to read this whole series. There also was very little world building, and the dialogue was stilted and overly simple. I don’t mean to be harsh but I expected more from an author who has written as many books as she has.
This book was a fantastic fantasy story. The world was completely compelling and the characters drew me in right away.
I was completely invested in Nicai and felt everything she felt. I love her dragon, and in fact, the whole world. I can't wait for the next book to come out and continue the story.
Warning - this book is part of a series and does end in a cliffhanger. So don't read it if you don't like these kind of books.
I received a free review copy of this this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Something is happening to the dragons on Burning Havens. Can Nicai and Koll, along with their dragons figure out what is causing the problems? The journey begins and leads them to believe there is magic involved. I can’t wait for the next book as this kept my interest. The characters were strong and interesting. Their relationship with their dragons was very identifiable and the plot flowed very well.
A fast read and definitely only the beginning of a new journey. But lovely! I love good stories about dragons and dragon riders. I love Nicai. But now, dragons are dying. The story does have a cliffhanger but that’s not unusual for books in this genre. The next installment is already out, so I’m looking forward to that one! I recommend it.
I received a complimentary review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is my first book by this author and I'm hooked! So far the Sharia series (I've read this and Tara Brown's) are so addictive, yet so very different. Plus this is my first Dragon book! Something's by is wrong in this kingdom, dragons are dying. It's up to two Dragon riders to find answers.
This is the first book in this new serie by Nicole Zoltack.
Dragons are falling ills and dying and its up to Nicai and Kol, two dragons riders along with their dragons to find the cause and the cure before darkness take over.
Really loved it. Can't wait for the next one in the serie.
I have received an arc of this book from the author!
This is an exciting first book in a new series. I like the idea of the dragon riders. Something is happening to the dragons and two riders and their dragons go on a mission to save them. It's fast paced and I was pulled in right away. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it for anyone who likes dragons.
