Many people wish that they could visit their favorite anime, videogame, or fictional worlds in general. They would kick the villain’s ass. Look cool. Get the girl, or even all of the girls. Perhaps even the guys! It is current year after all. What happens when a cosmic entity born of the human desire to parody mainstream organized religion decides to grant such a wish purely on a whim? A bizarre cross-world waifu harem collecting Litrpg adventure, that’s what! Join Scott Ambrose as he comes to terms with his strange new life in the Shattered Earth, a realm separate from our own where multiple versions of Earth have blended together with pop-culture and dank Internet memes to create an ever-increasing set of worlds to explore, many of which appear at first glance to be parodies of popular anime and games! See what lies in store for the man who got what he wished for without realizing just what it would mean if that wish ever came true. Touch greatness. Witness the truth. Anime waifus await! This work of parody Gamelit features commentary on the nature of certain characters, storylines, and what the Internet fandoms have done to them. A legendary game for the ages, where the only one keeping score is the player himself! However, this story does also feature graphic violence and occasional sexual shenanigans. Adult humor abounds, and immature humor is even more apparent!
Came in a bit skeptical in this book, but in the end it was a very enjoyable read. It was quite a refreshing perspective of the isekai trope, of which i was quite bored with. The characters were fun and interesting and the story flowed nicely. One thing that i could say as a minus is the fact that the book seems a bit too short.
This was an odd read for me; there are too many anime/manga references (for me) and I found a lot of it not so much complex as confusing. An interesting idea and it had some moments, but while the MC is pretty reasonable considering the circumstances, it just didn't come together for me.
If there's a follow-on I'll give it a try to see if the first one prepared me for it.
I have seen this book/series around for a while and never picked it up. It just didn’t sound like one I would enjoy. I was completely wrong! The writing is fantastic. Only a few editing mistakes, but the character and story writing is wonderful. In order to do a parody, you have to be better then the source material. If you make fun of something because the characters are shallow, then your characters have to be better. The author is very successful in this regard. Everything works well together to make this an extremely fun book to read, where the MC has depth and grows. I could not put this book down, and am jumping into the next one as soon as I hit Submit on this review :)
Well at first I was a little hesitant. It seemed like another run of the mill litrpg barely worth my time but I gave it a chance and it was well worth it. Let me start by saying that this isn't the most serious book out there but that's what makes it awesome. It's very akin to watching an anime like kono suba or how to meet girls in a dungeon. It's also reminiscent of apocalypse gate and since that's one of the best series ever you can't go wrong. I highly recommend this one if your looking for a good time and something to put a smile on your face while keeping you engaged and entertained.
We've all had a time where a story that we've loved never had the chance to be finished, or possibly a story that we wanted to love that just didn't hit all the right spots that we were hoping for. Power Fantasy is the culmination of these circumstances! It's a great adaptation or fanfic even of a beloved horror ecchi anime that desperately needed a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, even a 5th season!
I would’ve given this book for stars except there are a lot of editing and grammatical errors. It’s fairly typical for box now. I really can’t complain since I’m getting it through Amazon. The story in itself is fun another take on moving into a game world. It is for adults only. If that doesn’t bother you that it is certainly worth a read.
Ok. Few parts were a bit hard to follow but over all this book was great. Relatable people that made real decisions. Very well thought out eureka moments on life that you can tell are inspired by Daniel Schinhofen. Well done. Can’t wait to read book two and I hope you continue to write!
The book started a little slow, but it really picked up after a bit. The do-overs after deaths is interesting. The story and characters were intriguing and engaging. I look forward to reading more about these characters and their further adventures. This book is definitely worth checking out.
Scott suddenly finds himself in a college classroom when a zombie apocalypse strikes. Then it becomes crazy. How many lives will he spend to save his friends? Better than expected, even with the gamer slang. Guess I'm in for book 2.
There is nothing hidden for you to find in this book. It’s a power fantasy all the way. If you enjoy a good laugh and don’t take this book to seriously, you’ll have a wonderful time.
This story was great there wasn't a single time I was bored or thought about putting it down. I have never been disappointed by any story from Mr. Futch
The book had some fun humor in it and a fast paced storyline. I enjoyed that it had tons of action and strategy to overcome obstacles. It is a little different in the way a typical litrp g is but I enjoyed it.
A fun tale of horror, lust, violence, romance, fornication, and reality hopping. Solid characterization, fast dialogue, flashy action, and thoughtful character growth elevate this above its flaws. Those flaws are many. But this is a fun read.
This author has made a masterpiece. I am not good with explaining things or flower word's so all I'll say is that I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the concept behind it. It such a unique premise that I'm surprised no one else has thought of it.
Thoroughly enjoyed the story. With a bit of editing for grammar it would be even better. As is it's still a thoroughly enjoyable read if you're into this sort of thing.
I'm a fan of the source anime, so this was a fun book. Very interesting concept. I'll be curious to see how the main character gets out of the current predicament.
