This author is honestly so amazing at what she does. I fall in love with every book I’ve read by her. She puts so much into her books and it shows. I think I’ve read just about all her books and I don’t regret the hours I’ve put in so far. She’s created a lifetime fan and I can’t wait to see what the future brings for her and what new books she creates. With that being said let’s get into the review:
Bloodthirsty Bastard was no exception to her awesomeness. It was a really amazing book and it sucked me into the story very fast. It was easy to get sucked into. It’s written wonderfully. The words flow creating a beautiful escape for you. It also connects with another series she wrote which is great because that series was so awesome. You don’t have to read the other series in order to read this one though.
This book has everything. Humor, twists and turns, love, romance, history tidbits that are great. When reading this book I saw just how much effort goes into it. Research and character development. Her characters are all wonderful. They are so real. They aren’t perfect because let’s admit it right now, there is no such thing as the perfect person. Her characters have struggles and regrets, they have real issues that just about anyone can see a little of themselves in them.
You meet down on your luck Caroline. She’s passionate, compassionate, funny, sarcastic, and so much more. She sees herself as broken because of her past. She’s someone we can all relate too. Ethan describes her beautifully: “You think you’re broken, but you’re resilient.” And I think that fits her perfectly. Ethan on the other hand is troubled, cocky, intelligent, gorgeous. Oh, and did I mention cocky. They are everything they need in each other for different reasons. The supporting characters are great. Aubrey, Caroline’s best friend, is controlling, wound up right, and is a beast of a lawyer. At first I didn’t like her because she kind of told Caroline what to do but I think it’s something that Caroline needed in her life. When she meets Ethan he shows her she can be her own person and needs to believe in herself and what she wants. It’s beautiful to see. Chance, aubrey’s husband, is an artist. So he’s got that asshole vibe from him but he grows on me as well. He’s funny, an animal lover, and helps Aubrey slow down and enjoy life. Overall, the characters are great and make the story all the more amazing.
There are quite a few huge twists. Vampires, murder, animal attacks, babies, and so much more. Will Caroline and Ethan find their love is ever lasting? Is Ethan the one killing? Or, is it someone else? If that’s not enough to get you reading, you are also taken to Transylvania. What a beautiful yet spooky place. The history. It’s great! So what are you waiting for?!
