Ca’Sae’s Substitute

Rate this book
Ca’Sae is Marc Ul’s home. Ca’Sae is Marc Ul’s company.
In recent times Marc Ul’s thoughts have been overshadowed by his increasing need to maintain the conspiracy of the company he works for. There’s a flaw in the product they sell.

In an age where humans have long since conquered the science of terraform, human civilization has expanded out over a number of planets. Planets are now governed by corporations, with the inner community of planets offering their populations lives of overabundance whilst the outer rim is peppered with war. It’s to these wars that Ca'Sae sell’s it's product; Genetically Superior Clone Soldiers known as Helix Twins.
Marc Ul himself has always been intimately familiar with the ‘product’ of Helix Twins, not only because they are such a common acquaintance in Ca’Sae, as neighbours, to Cafe baristas, or even artists but for entirely more personal reasons, as Marc Ul himself is such a clone, a once genius eccentric soldier no sooner plucked from the field and mysteriously ushered into the role of Intercessions Manager.
Marc Ul has successfully increased the demand for Helix Twins in the outer rim of planets, though his success comes with the unwanted attention of a particularly influential rival, that poses a legitimate threat of uncovering the conspiracy so many Helix-twins have died to keep.
Marc Ul knows the dire stakes. The reveal of this conspiracy, and the fault within Helix-twins, would see to the unleashing of a general xenophobia towards his fellow clones, and worse; in such an age it would ruin the company and planet he calls home. The fate of Ca’Sae rests with Marc Ul.
