Olympus Academy #3

The Jinxed Journey

Rate this book
It's starting to look like Olympus is a lot more dangerous than I thought it was.

After dredging up a flying pirate ship belonging to the long lost Oceanus, I'm leaving the academy on a quest. And it's not just me going. My friends, Icarus, Zali and Thom are coming too, but in a strange turn of events, two of the people who hate me most in the academy are also tagging along for the ride.

And what a ride it's going to be. We have to follow a series of clues across some of the most dangerous parts of Olympus, to try and free a Titan trapped by the Lord of the Olympians himself. And even more confusing, my absent mom has finally decided to show up.

It's not going to be easy, but it's the only way we can save the souls that were stolen by the demon that I let loose.

My mistake cost innocent people their souls. And now I'm the only one who can fix it.

Olympus Academy: The Jinxed Journey is the third and final book in the Olympus Academy series. Expect angry gods, elemental battles, mythological monsters, betrayals, revelations and even a flying chariot race!

A review of Olympus Academy - Trilogy

We’re introduced to Pandora as a teenager. Her situation is that she loves her small family very much but is forced to leave them for safety. She is an earnest, kind, and fiercely determined young woman.

The inevitable comparison to Rick Riordan. Yes, both write YA using Greek Mythology as a backdrop. It reminds me of ‘Heroes of Olympus’ (Riordan’s teen series), because each character has their own strengths and issues to overcome. I find Riordan’s writing style much more satisfying - he naturally blends comedy into intense adventure! Eliza Raine’s adventure plots are great, but they lack comedy and depth. Her characters did develop, however I just didn’t feel like there was time to learn to love them.

Is it a big deal that this trilogy needed editing? Too many missing apostrophes. For some reason, the author uses “span” instead of “spun” a lot.
There were some run-on sentences that bothered me, but the grammar was the worst, for me. It pulled me out of the moment.

That said, it was a very fun read, when I did get caught up in it! There was suspense, mystery, action, interesting mythology, and plot twists!
I’d give the series 3.5/5 overall, and would recommend it to teen readers.

Such a fantastic story with a cast of amazing characters! The interweaving of an academy book into all things mythological was absolutely brilliant!

This is the final book in this series but I am hoping that the author cuts us some slack and does a few spin-off books following the characters. They are so much fun to read and you really do get a sense of who the characters are.

The descriptions are so well detailed and laid out for you that you really do feel like you are on the quest with the characters. I love the amount of research that went into this series as I am a huge fan of mythology and it really grabbed me. This book does make you want to learn more about the ancient world and I have to give credit to the author for that.

I am a huge fan of Eliza Raine having read two series of hers now, both mythological in theme. She really does know how to create an epic book that will hold your interest the whole time! A must-read in my opinion

After reading this series, I am writing this review to share my honest opinions on the series. I will not provide any spoilers for any of the books, and will discuss the series as a whole, not the individual books in it.

The amazing conclusion to the Olympus Academy series – the ending that we all have been waiting for! And as expected, this book truly does not disappoint! It’s an action packed, enthralling fantasy adventure that keeps you hooked until the very end. There are a few twists in the story that link to the other series the author wrote, so if you have read this other series as well, you will see some familiar faces. The chariot race was also epic and such a unique addition. Overall, this series was amazing and I am so glad that I had the pleasure of reading it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes reading YA fantasy and about Greek mythology – it’s a fantastical adventure you will not regret!

What an amazing series. I loved every page of every book. The characters throughout the books are so well written and I love a good magical school series. The plot throughout all three books was well written and keeps the reader interested the whole way through.
There is lots of excitement and so much happens throughout all the books, and it is amazing how attache to this series I got.
Pandora has so much character growth throughout the books, which is amazing to read and everything is so detailed and clear.

This is a great ending to the trilogy! We follow the characters out of academy on a flying Titan ship across the world of Olympus, following clues to discover the whereabouts of Oceanus. While Pandora and her friends and frenemies try to track down Oceanus, Pandora is also discovering more about her own Titan powers, which have come at quite the cost. Pandora and her mother also begin to repair their relationship. It's quite interesting to learn more about this variation on Olympus and to meet other gods, goddesses, and Titan descendants. Very enjoyable!

I liked this book a lot more than the second in the series, and I may have even liked it more than the first book. The constant action kept me wanting to read more about what happened.

I also think this book had a really good ending. Nothing was left unresolved. I still highly recommend this entire series to fans of Greek Mythology, especially those who are fans of the Percy Jackson series. While there are a lot of similarities between this book and the Percy Jackson series, I think Raine created something unique enough so people won't feel like they are reading a copycat version.

This was an excellent series but this “final” book was so extremely rushed that I am disappointed. It is obvious the author is going to continue the story but this final book should have had a whole sufficient story. Also taking one star off for the extremely terrible editing in this book. Not sure what happened to book three but I did enjoy the series and characters. I do hope to see more fleshed out stories in the future.

Awesome Read

Great finish to a great story. I want to see what happens next with Dora and what she grows into. This was really good. I love mythology and I never understood how some ppl could have two Divine parents and be mortal, and some have a Divine ancestor and be powerful. I guess it's like genetics and what's passed down (dominant/recessive). Dora is a powerful recessive character who's dormant traits make for a GREAT heroine.

I knew it!

Also, Pandora is such an idiot. If someone is a descendant of the same person, then you and them are somehow related. Seriously, asking if she is related to other Oceanus descendants..... you technically are! That line made me angry! “Am I related to them?” My goodness; you’re a stupid little Titan.

I can’t wait to read about more from this series if more will be written. For some reason, I’m in a Greek mythology mood right now.

I usually don't read mythology books. There are so many of them and they start to sound the same, so I tend to avoid them. But I have to say that I loved this series. Maybe it's due to its simplicity and not being dark. It has plenty of action and teen drama.
Love it and I would highly recommend to all.
A clean read.

All hail the adventure of heros.

As is so often the good guys win. But how they get there is an adventure to be enjoyed. Learning this writers storylines and mythological creativity is very enjoyable. I appreciate the new ideas in presentation. It is a great journey. Enjoy the adventure.

Amazing and explosive end to a nail biting series, but only giving it 4 stars due to the ending feeling really rushed and leaving me with soooooo many unanswered questions (hoping the new upcoming one will answer them because i have been dying to know since book 1)
