There is a certain arrogance and ignorance that the "reward" for saving yet again the princesses of the Beltrum Kingdom, is the hand in marriage Celia Claire to Rio (Haruto - main character). They were already good friends, there is no gain in this. Ignorance in the sense that this author has no idea how monarchies work and function. Repeatedly calls the characters Lord, Sir, Lady, when they have no official noble titles. Then author believes that a marriage arrangement is a reward. When traditionally in monarchies, the range of rewards are: special weapons, special artifacts, monetary rewards (gold, jewels, art, etc), territorial rewards, official noble hereditary titles and bigger rewards.
Marriage arrangements tie down "heroes" and "knights" to the kingdoms, territories and nobles that propose them. In other words, to breed and have blood ties with stronger "other worlders". In exchange for the marriage proposal, the noble family extends a dowry to the future husband. The dowry is supposed to cover the "living" costs of the daughter given in marriage.
In all of the 16 volumes the Beltrum Princesses have caused a long and painful series of problems for Rio. When Flora was rescued at 7 years of age from the slums, Rio was tortured and abused. Then later was spied upon, controlled and bullied. When Rio saved Flora from falling from the hill (by Stewart pushing her), He was persecuted, Duke Huguenot (Stewart's father) sent Latifa as an assassin to murder him. Stewart should have been sentenced to death and the Huguenot family persecuted. And yet the author makes this noble family the center of the "restoration" of the Beltrum Kingdom.
Anyone would have even helped to destroy this Beltrum Kingdom. It is not logical nor does it make sense, that time and time and time and time and time (more than 10 times) Rio has saved Flora and Christina.
Rio has no income, no job, no ambition and now, no purpose. All he has gained from the tens and dozens of times he has saved the Galarc and Beltrum's Kingdoms is a house in Ronan and a house within the castle in the Galarc Kingdom.
It is apparent that the author wishes to create a harem in this light novel, but because of the lack of initiative and non-commital attitude of Rio (written by author), he hasn't even admitted his love to his life-long love (previous life) Miharu. This huge reluctance slows the pace of this series a lot. Basically Rio is surrounded by princesses and noble girls and has no relationship with all of them. most sleep at his homes, eat his food and receive his purchased clothing and gifts for them, but are only acquaintances.
Completely destroying the Proxia Empire would be a desirable goal and yet this "not-killing" in a Hellish world attitude created by the author remains. This is why this light novel is not going anywhere.

Charlotte is honestly the most enjoyable part of this volume bringing good comedy and a big push into the relationships in this story. At this point in this story idk what the author will do as Haruto/Rio has achieved his goal and his only other goal was to escort people back to earth but they all seem more than happy to stay. I can only see the author trying to make Haruto/Rio marry someone but I don't how long that will take with him being as dense as he is.

Volume 16

Rio is dealing with things he put off while seeking revenge but There was to many chapters on dealing with those girls. I wouldn't mind since some chapters was on other characters, a little more background on what they were doing would have been good. Also some background on Aishia and Reiss would be nice. A little more on Rui, who seem to feel something is wrong would be good also. Be nice if Rio and Rui would become friends and fight together.

The toughest battle of Haruto.

An interlude before a new arc. This volume brings a lot of characters together, which are nicely developed and their relationship with the MC gets deeper. This is one of the strongest point of this serie, the characters. All of them are nicely described and with interesting personalities, and is nice to see them grow through the first volume until now. This volume os filled with heartwarming scenes and some fun parts. A really nice and fun read.

This is the first book in the series that I found to be disappointing. By this point all obstacles to the relationship between Rio & Miharu have been removed and they have both acknowledged their feelings for each other. Yet it still has not developed any further that.

That, put together with the lack of any action in this volume made it rather lackluster compared to previous entries in the series.

Worst volume so far.
The first half of the book is a recap of what has happened in the previous 15 volumes, which I admit some readers might find useful.
THE SECOND HALF IS BASICALLY ALL THE FEMALE CHARACTERS OF THE BOOK DECIDING WHO IS GOING TO MARRY HARUTO!!!!
There is no action, and the story does not move on inch forward.

Pushed around

MC is starting to really let himself be pushed around to much, it's very annoying, being an honorary knight he has no obligation to follow and order by any royalty, but Charlotte acts like she can order him to do whatever and he goes along with it🙄, it's ridiculous and annoying, I think he dropped at least 1 of his family jewels somewhere😑

Let down

This book was nothing but filler. A set up for the next book. Some of it tied up loose ends so far, but over all I did not enjoy this one as much as the others. But some of the potential pick up in the future might be very interesting

Ok Read

I'm still waiting for Haratu to remember that he's actually 36 years old. And not a teenager. Even Lissolet seems more mature. For him not to notice what the girls are doing makes him just plain stupid!! Grow up already!

I enjoyed the relation ship development very much, it adds more life to the characters. The real surprise is seeing Rio becoming more emotional as an individual. Must read if you like the series.
