My best stories though were the ones from the Bible! Such is the spiritual connection that a cozy warm pass through my body every time I hear a biblical story!
My childhood memories were not all roses, but I always knew that the strongest shelter would be always there for me! It was Him!
Years passed by, and little-Chloe grown up reading all kind of stories! It was no surprise that I had this urge to write my own stories, and share them with the word!
If I have a God's purpose on Earth, I think it is to spread His love and wisdom, through my stories!

A Captivating story that takes place during a difficult time in American history, and the struggles between the Soldiers and Native Americans. Themes of hate and racism are handled with care and highlight the character's lives well in this story. It's a great love story with a bit of suspense and drama mixed in.

I appreciate that there are hard topics here such as the treatment of women in a soldier camp, but this book had some issues I couldn't overcome.
One of my main issues, that pulled me out of the story so far it has been hard to finish the book, is that she speaks English like a native speaker. Her father was killed when her mother was pregnant, and her mother would not have spoken as a native English speaker. She would not know the nuances of the language and would have learned it second hand from her mother. Also, I has such a hard time with how much the Hero trusted his second in command even when he made terrible choices. I just couldn't get past it.
Generally I enjoy her books and the topics that she chooses to address. She doesn't shy away from darker issues or villains with a great amount of darkness in them. I appreciate that a lot, but this one I got frustrated and lost interest in this one.

Unlikely romance
Based on their differences a romance couldn’t bloom, but it, of course, does. The beginning was a little slow, but the plot picked up. This book became an enjoyable way to escape from reality for a bit.

So I actually finished a couple of days ago, but I wanted to really get my thoughts together. I received this story as an ARC. I know I should have read/finished sooner but life got in the way.
This is a total different point of venue of the way our nation, the United States, was founded. I have only ever heard of the side of the colonizers. This was a new and fresh take on it. Chenoa was a breath of fresh air. She is a modern woman born and living at a time when everything was uncertain. I love that she is a strong individual and so secure in who she is even though she is unlike anyone of her time. She is young and fierce and willing to do what she has to to survive.
Frederick is dreamy and accepting probably at a time when it was dangerous to do so. He in a way is both the same and completely different the Chenoa. Yes is good looking but I think what makes readers fall for him is his character.
Everyone loves a forbidden love story, however, this one is deeper and feels more real. Frederick and Chenoa have so much against that readers feel that they can't succeed in what they are trying to do. I hope their story continues.
This is the first Chloe Carly story I have ever read and I was blown away. I was sucked in and couldn't turn away. Although I couldn't all I wanted to do was read this story. I fell in love with some of the characters and wanted to punch others. I couldn't help but want to pull for Chenoa and her people.
If you love historical fiction, trust me read this. You won't be disappointed.

Chenoa's Tale to Freedom by Chloe Carley was an enjoyable book to read but pretty unrealistic. Too often people try to put today's standards into historical settings and it comes off poorly. That is what Carley did this time. Chenoa was a good character, loving toward all and believing she could change the world, one person at a time. Not that I don't believe it's possible but certainly more difficult given this story and this historical time. Chenoa and the members of her tribe who were not killed, were captured by the cavalry. Her tribe was small, made up of outcasts from several tribes. Things went from bad to worse within the fort, until everyone was in danger.
Carley writes a good story, interesting, but the mark of good historical fiction is that it is rooted in fact, is fact except for the characters that are the brunt of the story. In this case that didn't really happen and while it is and entertaining story, that departure is glaring. It takes away from the enjoyment of the book as a whole. While it was a good story, some of the characters were less than realistic, Frederick, for example, who completely changed his worldview in a few short weeks as did Liwanu. If you can suspend y our need for even a touch of reality, try this book. It was an easy read
and didn't lack for action.

This is the story of Frederick and Chenoa, with two side main characters; Liwanu and John. This book has everything in it that's clean that you ever wanted to read. It is an amazing story of a brave Indian woman named Chenoa and what she goes through. She wants to find peace between the Indians and the White Men. Frederick is a General who who despises Indians. He thinks they are savages and animals. Liwanu is betrothed to Lenoa. John is a Colonel under the General who also despises Indians, and is very deceptive toward his friend the Colonel. Those are the main characters. There is a lot of action in this book. There is mystery, suspense, bravery and love. I love Chloe Carly's books because they hold your attention to the fullest. Once you start reading you cannot put the book down. I'm looking forward to her next one.

I enjoyed this book very much. Chloe Carley is such an excellent storyteller. I believe the idea of this book comes from the Book of Esther in the Old Testament. As a matter fact after reading this story I went and read the 10 chapters of Esther and there similarities in both stories. I also like the accuracy and detail she provides regarding the Ktunaxa Tribe and other natives she describes and the names she gives for people and places. I am also impressed with the accuracy of the relationship between settlers, the Army, and Government and the various Native American Tribes without sugarcoating it yet continuing to keep the story respectful. I enjoyed the growing love story between Fredrick and Chenoa. I have yet to read a book written by this author that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy and this one is no different.

A beautiful love story filled with prejudice, greed and injustice . Chenoa is a young woman born of an Indian maiden and American soldier who fell in love and married according to the Spirit's law. Prejudice from the tribe causes Chenoa's mother to be exiled from her tribe and the soldier killed by his own. Not knowing she was with child, Chenoa's mother searched for a tribe that would accept her.
The soldiers were performing their duties of obtaining more land and the Native Americans were protecting what they felt was theirs. As we follow Chenoa's life, the reader gets a glimpse into the life and ways of the Indians. Chenoa speaks eloquent English and is a believer of our God and believes He and the Spirit leader are the same.
The characters are strong, the plot is intriguing and you won't want to put this book down.

So much has been said about Chloe Carley's books and this book only adds to the excellence that this author seeks with each book that she writes. This story is another one that is impossible to put down once you start reading! (I no longer start reading her books in the later evening or I will be up all night). This book is written in such a difficult time for the Native Americans, but despite all, they did survive. I have just finished reading this book and at a time where we are now facing two more mass shootings in this country. Ms. Carley's books always bring me such peace with the inspiration that she always blends into each book. I would highly recommend this author's books to anyone that particularly enjoys Christian reading.

Captivating story
I liked this book a lot. In the beginning I disliked the general (Frederick), but with Chenoa’s gentleness, she helped to change his outlook on the Indians. The colonel (John) was an underhanded snake and a liar. The general was his good friend and apparently too naive to know what the colonel was doing right under his nose. The story weaved in how it was in those days when the whites and Indians didn’t trust each other and the cavalry was killing and taking the land. I enjoyed this book immensely and the extended ending was wonderful. I recommend it to everyone.

A fascinating story about Indians, soldiers, and a sad time in history when racism and hatred ruled. How can an enemy held captive at an army fort survive, especially a female? How could she set her native friend free when he was destined for the firing squad? Chenoa was strong, determined, and caring. She also embraced her mother's Christian beliefs. Frederick battled his feelings for this captive native and was also manipulated by the evil intents of his "friend", the Colonel. I enjoyed the clean romance that ensued, including the extended epilogue. Some surprising twists and turns! I highly recommend this clean romance.

This was a story about prejudice and pre conceived notions. Chenoa is part Indian part white man and is judged for it. During this time period Indians were considered savages by ignorant white men. Frederick turned me off in the beginning but Chenoa’s patience finally made him rethink his prejudices. It ended up being a beautiful love story. I really enjoyed this book in the end. I love a good HEA!

Friend or Foe
This is written in a time where the conflicts between Indians and whites is severe. But what happens when some of these cultures begin to understand and respect and, in some cases, love each other. A very well written novel by Chloe Carley with a lot of action, romance, deception and changed lives. Learning whose friend or foe brings some surprises to the adventure. Love it!!

A story well done!
At first I thought that the General must just be dumb, to not see how he was being manipulated by the Colonel. I finally understood that their friendship is why Frederick always believed him. The love and loyalty finally shown by the main characters brought joy and tears. This is a story well done Ms. Carley, thank you.

This is a story that will grip your heart. The characters are well developed; some you will love and some you will not be so fond of. You will find prejudice, racism, loyalty, good people, bad people, faith and love within the story. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. You will not be able to put it down once you start reading it.

Heart-rending book
This book was well-written. It reminds you of what life was really like between whites are the Indians. Those who wanted peace and those who wanted to just take from others. This book took me awhile to read as I agonized over what was happening. Gladly recommend.

What a fast paced story about a fiery Indian lady, her struggles to protect/help her people while falling in love with a white man. Full of action/adventure, a bad guy & a HEA. Loved this story. Couldn’t put it down.

Go back to Indians and forts. Chloe and Fredrick are from different worlds, she’s half Indian-half white, he is the enemy or is he. Great story and characters, friend or foe you have to figure out Who is what. Lots of action and twists and turns, very engaging. Will read more from this author.

Excellent Book by Excellent Auhor
I have read several books by Chloe Carley and have found them all to be well written. In this book, I could see in my mind the activity in the Indian village and also in the military fort. I look forward to reading more of His author's books.

An interesting Story
This author obviously does her research for each of her books. This is an interesting story but I found it too slow in moving along. There are spots where too much information is given. Great romance!

An enchanting tale of a Native American girl and the handsome soldier who was her reluctant jailer. While some circumstances may have been unrealistic and somewhat naiive, it was still an enjoyable story.

Wonderful, clean love story about overcoming war, race and evil to blossom into peace. Chenoa and Fredrick showed great faith in the face of evil and prevailed.

A lovely Christian romance. It is well researched and depicts the struggles of the Native Americans and the Calvary when the US was but a fledgling country.
