Primer libro de la serie Alpha cops y primera vez que leo esta autora.

Carver fue un librito corto, tanto así que me dejó queriendo más. Me gustó la historia en general y estuvo bien escrita.

Esto es un insta-love dulce policía sexy alfa, Carver estuvo muy dulce y protector pero me faltó ver más de él en acción.

Lo que me sorprendió es que los protagonistas no saltaran sobre el otro muy rápido, que quisieran conocerse un poco antes porque en este tipo de libros en seguida pasaría a lo hot. La escena de amor tampoco fue muy fuerte sino ligera pero aún sexy.

Los epilogos me gustaron mucho.

I don’t know if it’s my social anxiety, my trust issues, or the fact that I read way too much dark romance, but the plot of this book seemed so unrealistic and melodramatic. Some more context about where the story is located would also be helpful because even though Carver is a cop, weed isn’t a big deal in a lot of places.

2.5 stars I liked how they met and it was a cute story but extremely short and they didn’t even have sex until the first epilogue.

This was very short and sweet. Exactly what I wanted.
The insta-love in this is obvious but nothing wrong with it and actually handled well by the author addressing it in both the blurb and throughout the book. I wish they lent into the age gap thing a little more, focused on their relationship and the smut and took out the whole side plot with the flatmates because for a 50 page book you really are just there for the romance and anything else, so I wish that time had been used to develop that more.
There were a couple of moments where I thought "ooh this is a little questionable" - one being he makes mention to not wanting his daughter to live like this which is a weird comment to make about the girl you want to get with, and secondly some comment about him thinking she'll stay home with the kids and cook and give up her accounting career, which just felt a little antiquated. It would have been fine if it had come from Amber's POV but hearing it in Carver's came off as a little too possessive for me personally.
Overall, not a bad read and a nice pick me up after a long day.

Girls just wanna have fun

Carver is the first book in the Alpha Cops series and boy is this older alpha cop super sexy. One night while on shift Carver brings in two women and in order to put them into the holding cells he has to take two out, as the cell is packed because of some disorderly woman after a concert. When he looks around the cell he see a young woman sitting at the end of a bench with her hands folded and looking down. She looks completely out of place surrounded by all the other boisterous women. But when she looks up he is floored by her. So he takes her and a another woman out of the cells and they are released after a bit of paperwork. After he finishes up his paperwork he finds the young woman sitting in a chair at the front of the station as she is waiting for her taxi. Carver offers her a ride home as he feels protective about her.
Amber is in her final year at college and living in deplorable student housing that she shares with one other woman and three guys. She went to the concert only because her roommate had tickets and her friend had backed out. Then the friend caused an issue when they were leaving pulling Amber into it. So when the cops showed up the roommate made a run for it and left Amber to be taken in.
When Carver sees where Amber is living and then how one of the guys eyes her he is determined she is coming with him. So he takes her to his house and puts her in his guest room. Temptation has come home for Carver as he definitely wants Amber and she definitely wants him. As Amber does not have any money, barely being able to afford the place she was in, Carver tells her she can stay with him until they figure something out, not sure what that is except moving into his bedroom.
Will Carver be able to resist the sweet, innocent and lusciously curvy Amber?

This is a sweet, fun and entertaining story with an OTT possessive and protective older Alpha cop and a sweet, innocent, smart and beautiful young woman. This is a great first book in the new series and I am looking forward to reading more stories about these Alpha Cops.

Avevo già letto uno di questi racconti, sempre perché funzionale ad una challenge, e il succo è sempre lo stesso.
Cambiano i nomi e c’è qualche variazione nelle dinamiche ma il canovaccio resta sempre quello.
Amber, studentessa squattrinata si ritrova coinvolta in alcuni tumulti durante un concerto e insieme ad altre ragazze viene messa in cella.
Rilasciata dopo poche ore attira l’attenzione del poliziotto Carver che si offre di accompagnarla nella casa che condivide con altri studenti.
Quando vede il tipo di alloggio e di coinquilini con cui lei ha a che fare le offre ospitalità nella sua camera degli ospiti.
Altro che colpo di fulmine, già la mattina successiva lui le offre ospitalità perpetua dicendole che spera che lei voglia non solo condividere casa ma anche la sua camera.
Nel giro di ventiquattro ore, dopo un lieve fraintendimento siamo già ai “Ti amo”.
Anche qui come nell’altro racconto due epiloghi, il primo due settimane dopo con loro che consumano per la prima volta e il secondo cinque anni dopo felicemente sposati con un pargolo di due anni e un altro in arrivo.
Fine.
La traduzione ogni tanto incespica in vari orrori, sia nei tempi verbali che nella concordanza di genere.
Per il resto è un storia veloce che si legge in una manciata di minuti buona solo a far punteggio.
La caraterizzazione è minima, identica a quella dell’altro racconto letto.
Giovane pulzella formosa in difficoltà economica e poliziotto con più anni di lei dall’istinto di protezione pronto a risolverle i problemi.
Da leggere solo se vi serve per qualche challenge.

Carver is a cop and at the end of his shift. He brings in another couple of women that have been arrested for disturbing the peace...a sit down protest involving drunken students. But when he goes to place the women in the cell, he finds it full to capacity. Then he spots two young women that seem out of place. He lets them go and puts the two newcomers in their place. But he can’t take his eyes away from one of the women he’s just let go. She’s got the most captivating green eyes. When he finds her hoping to get hold of a taxi, he offers to drive her home instead. He’s instantly drawn to her. Amber is in her final year of study. Her attraction to Carver is instant; it feels as if she’s known him her whole life and she trusts him without question. A short, sweet and steamy insta-love story between a gorgeous older male and a beautiful young woman with curves in all the right places. Loved it!

Loved it! This is a quick read, a great escape from reality. Amber is sweet and a bit naive. Carver is an alpha cop, taken aback by his unexpected feelings for Amber. She's a struggling student, doing her best but surrounded by some not so nice people in a not so nice apartment. Seeing this, Carver cannot let her continue to struggle. But the roommate/friend that got Amber into trouble in the first place, isn't happy about Amber moving on and does her best to cause trouble. Fortunately, Amber's sweet nature ultimately is enough for Carver to see beyond these attempts This book made me smile as I read it, and allowed me an escape for awhile. I'll definitely be reading it again, and I;m very much looking forward to reading more in this series!

This is the first book I have read from Sadie King but I really loved this book. Carver is a quick read filled with an alpha male protective cop, a naive young woman going to school and living with untrustworthy people, insta-love, an arrest, and an HEA. Carver is a police officer who finds himself instantly attracted to Amber who finds herself not only ditched by a roommate but then arrested. The attraction between the two is off the charts and a slow burn. A well written story line with wonderful characters readers will fall in love with. I can't wait to read more from Sadie King.

Carver and Amber are heartwarming in this touching story. Amber was trying to be a good friend by going to a concert. When it got out of hand she was arrested. Carver was bringing into more people to their over crowed jail. When he saw Amber, he decided to let her, and another woman go but there was something about Amber that drew him in. When he took her under his wing, he never expected that she would go back to the place he took her from. Will her actions ruin their chances for a happily ever after?

This is a short and sweet romance.

The story begins with Amber, a young woman who finds herself in a bit of trouble and ends up in police custody. Police officer Carver see's she's out of her depth and organises her being released.

There is no messing around with these two, in the space of a few hours, he had her moved into his house (didn't like her place) and the next morning they are saying 'I love you'.

This is a super fast, steamy insta-love story.

All it takes is one look, and Carver sees his future in Amber eyes. Immediate connection between these characters, but can they really trust one another having just met. Fast paced storyline with a hero wanting to rescue his love, cute read, with a great outcome. Great epilogue for this unexpected couple.

Talk about a sweet story! Amber and Carver don’t meet at the best of times. Yet they both have a good feeling about each other and act on these gut feelings. Yes, it’s Instalove. But these two are too cute that you’ll be as happy for them as I was.

good read

This was a good quick read. Carver and Amber were an intense couple and it was an entertaining story. I think my only complaint is that things felt a little unresolved with the roommate. I would have like to have seen her get some justice, otherwise, it was a good insta love story.

This is short even for a novella - it’s 45 pages. The bulb sounded good but that’s about it. Not much I can say, cause I feel like I can’t really judge the author’s writing style with so little, will have to check out others see if they are longer.

Good way to start the series. Amber is a college student living in unsafe conditions. She goes out with a friend who ditches her and ends up at the police station where Carver rescues her. I enjoyed them getting to know each other. However, Carver kind of drove me crazy with his jumping to conclusions.

I decided to try this series when I finished the Curvy Girls Can series. I was not disappointed. This instalove short story is sweet and steamy. The alpha cop is protective and immediately feels the need to take care of Amber. Each character is relatable. I am looking forward to the next books in this series.

Amber went to a concert with a friend, the friend did some crazy stuff, dragged Amber along and she spenr 2 hours in a jail cell. Carver gives Amber a ride home because he believed her story. When he sees where she lives, Carver brings her to his home. Short and Cute

Wow. The cover really did it for me… Then reading about Amber, she really was a sweetheart through and through.. I’m so glad they worked on their little hick up before too late. The epilogues was super sweet
