Ziniyah O’Hara had always believed that witches shouldn’t fall in love with ordinary people. A romance just wasn’t in the cards when there were secrets to be kept.
But when Ziniyah’s daughter, Daisie, and Paul Keaton’s son, Jinky, were kidnapped, it took the help of friends, family, an enchanted stuffed bear, and a flock of crows to find where the children were being held, and nothing was secret any longer.
In the end, it’s Unexpected Magick that sets the children free and allows the romance to flourish.
I loved the authors book “The New Witch” it’s somewhat complex, has strong character building from the beginning and the witchcraft is a subtle art that is believable so I eagerly sought another of her books. I was 33% into this book and still hadn’t sunk my teeth into it but was continuing until the witch characters mention that in a wink they can teleport to anywhere in the world, like the Loire Valley..oh no. For me, in the contemporary time frame of this story, that’s too unbelievable. The book is well edited and I think others might like it but it wasn’t for me, it felt more like something out of I Dream of Jeannie (or was it Genie) and I prefer more subtle but complex witch stories.
Enjoyed this book very much. Paul’s ex wife was such a bitch and certainly didn’t deserve a nice person like him. Also not worthy of that wonderful little boy! Also, when Paul found out both he and his boy had the gene for magick he wasn’t even interested in trying to learn! Sad. Well ⎌it all worked out just fine, but still begs the question, is he an ordinary or extraordinary?
A delightful book. A fun cozy…..talking stuffed bear, charming characters, witches, magick (real magick not stage magic), evil doers doing evil deeds, no graphic violence, a little romance but no sex, no cliffhanger endings, and wall decorations that come to life and come down off the walls and play with the children. A lovely book to curl up in a comfy chair with a cup of tea and spend time enjoying the story. Please write more books in this series very soon!
Mysteries and cats go together. Often, when mysteries include witches, there is a cat involved. So, no cat, at least at first, but there are two adorable children. What's not to like? Doesn't hurt that there is a little romance, too. I enjoyed this book.
Amusing start with promise, ended in sentimental drivel poop. Surprisingly juvenile, for iliac and overly predictable. Keep up the interest and don't drop off into beginner romance
This was a lovely read, perfect curl up under the blankets with a cup of tea and relax sort of book and I look forward to reading more from this author.
