Heath und Catalina ... Was für ein Paar ...
Die Chemie zwischen den beiden hat ja mal sowas von gestimmt und sie kamen auch wieder so echt rüber, da blieb mir nichts anderes übrig als diese Geschichte zu lieben!
Obwohl ich mittlerweile bei Band 8 bin, wird es einfach nicht langweilig. Jedes Buch hat etwas ganz besonderes an sich, genauso wie jede Geschichte. ❤️
Die Handlungsstränge waren mega und so spannend, da kann ich wirklich nur meinen Hut vor Penelope Sky ziehen.
Bei dieser Reihe merkt man, dass sie sich als Autorin total weiterentwickelt hat!

This book left me speechless. I couldn't stop reading until I got to the last page. There was so much detail and emotion in this book that it was like a movie playing in my head. I highly recommend "Lie" by Penelope Sky.

I love how we were introduced to Catalina’s story and what it ultimately means is that things are going to get very complicated very fast. We knew there was some type of connection between them when Heath realized that she was more than he first thought – and seeing their ‘relationship’ evolve throughout this story shows us that there’s much more than meets the eye.
When we first met Heath, youll remember that it was in Balto’s story and there wasn’t much that Heath had to redeem himself. He was rough around the edges, didn’t really have a sensitive notion at all in his being and even knowing the story around who Cassini was both to Balto and outside of him, there wasn’t much that made you want to like him. We saw him do things for his brother to help when needed and as a result, when. Balto stepped down as the Skull King, Heath stepped in.
He’s not the typical king and we saw that through his interactions with Damian. Sure, he was out for the money piece of things since that’s how the Skull Kings made their business thrive, but he also had vendettas and revenge to deal with. He also has Vox in the back of things to make life miserable. Vox being the Skull King that felt that he was next in line to be king and will take whatever opportunity he can to take the throne.
Catalina on the other hand is exactly as we remembered and is exactly how all other leading ladies are in Penelope Sky stories. We see how independent and strong she is. how she is able to take care of herself and needs no one, yet has this idea in her mind of how her life should be. She’s made the mistake of seeing the gypsy as well and feels like she’s got to follow that premonition to a T since the prophecies have played out for Hades and Damian.
This first real installment of their story is one that’s rough. We see that Catalina continues to avoid Heath, push off his advances because of what he has against Damian as well as what he put her through when she was kidnapped. It doesn’t matter that there’s an insane attraction between them, it’s still something that’s never going to work out.
Heath of course is persistent and we see walls come down. We see what could be between them and we see how there are still far too many obstacles to make it work as it should. It’s not until Catalina is trafficked that Heath comes to her rescue, and there’s a chance for whatever it is that they want to make their relationship to become.
If only Damian wasn’t an issue and he didn’t continue to come at Heath every chance he could get. We know that it can’t possibly end well for everyone and when we watch Catalina get put into a position where she’s devoted to her brother and yet wants to protect Heath, someone’s going to die and that’s not good for anyone.
We’re left off watching a plot go wrong, and then we don’t get to see the after affects. – that’ll come in the next installment

I had this book on pre-order, pretty since the day the option came. And it finally got released!!!!!
This is the story of Heath, who is Balto's brother. You may have met him in the skull king trilogy, i.e. Balto's trilogy.
Both Catalina and Heath were perfect for each other. The best thing I find about Penelope's books are those unexpected twist and turns. In the starting of the book, it started pretty light, but as the book progressed, Damn!! that was some entertainment!
The way she writes her books is amazing. I just love all of the heroes of her book. The way she manipulates the story line is worth reading for!
So in this book , we get to meet the characters of the skull king trilogy again, and also Heath and Catalina.
My heart just hurt so much for Catalina. The way she cared for everyone was so selfless (even for a certain asshole-family-member that didn't deserve it!!). Both of them start off a bit rough, and then things smooth out in the middle. But then the ending came, and it nearly broke my heart. The way Heath understood Catalina was so amazing, Their connection nearly drove me crazy. I just can't wait for the second book in this series. The final book of both Heath and Catalina is going to be amazing!!!

Definitely liked heath. He was a character that was fully voiced. You knew where he stood and what he thought. He was true to his word and definitely swoon. Catalina changes so much from what she was at the very beginning and to be expected post trauma.
Their dynamic was great and I predicted the cliffhanger point. Because now I expect them with this series.
* I didn’t like how Damien is suddenly this weakling? I wish his storyline would have been a tad different. But overall the main bases for the next book so I guess we will see where this leads

I have decided I’m in love with Heath. He’s this leader of this big criminal organization but he’s so soft and good for Catalina. I just love their relationship and how it grew quickly. It was amazing that Heath started working towards putting an end to human trafficking all for Catalina. Catalina is so strong and feisty and I can’t wait to see what direction her character goes. Now on to book two!

God I love this author. This is still a minor continuation of a Damian and Anna’s story but mainly cover Heath and Catalina. I sensed them from the very beginning!! Great read and great addition. I love how so much happens but hate that we have to wait!!!!

Catalina and Heath, love it. Catalina is my kind of woman. Such a suspenseful story. It was so hard to put down to get the other things that had to be taken care in my life. This journey had me gasping for air almost afraid to turn the page at times. Great story Penelope, once again you have kept me entertained and wanting to find out what happens.

Wow! This book is so good! I could not put it down. In this book we meet in new couple of the Betrothed series. This couple is complicated perfection. Meet Heath and Catalina. These two are explosive together. Their chemistry is off the charts. They will keep you glued to your kindle. Can they survive the lifestyle of "The Skull King" and her brother being in the business? Can love conquer their vows to be loyal to family always? To get revenge for past transgressions? Only one way to know ! Check it out and see. Ms. Sky is a master at storytelling and pulling you in with her characters. Loved this one!! I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance reader copy from the author. I can not wait for the next book!

AMO a esta autora!!🥰, me encanta que todos sus personajes son tan diferentes!!
los primeros 4 libros son la historia de Hades y Sofia.
La historia de Hades me atrapó y me gustaba mucho, me encantaba Hades hasta que cayó de mi gracia por cobarde y me decepcionó mucho su personaje, sobre todo en su último libro.
Libros 5,6 y 7 de Damien (socio y mejor amigo de Hades) y Anabella.
El me cayó mal desde el principio de la historia de Hades por estupido y después lo terminé odiando más en el libro 9 y 10 así que definitivamente ni Hades ni Damien fueron los mejores de la serie para mi.
Finalmente en los libros 8 ,9 y 10 llega la historia de Heath y Catalina hermana de Damien).

This story premise just doesn’t work for me.
Hades made sense.
Damian made sense
Heath - nope, doesn’t make sense.
He kidnapped her dad and threat to kill him
He tormented her brother constantly
Then
He helped kidnap her best friend after she was shot
But
That’s not all
Then
He kidnapped her and put her in a cage.
I haven’t read much of this book but nope. This does not work for me.
Heath AKA Skull king is a jerk, he’s an ass, he treats ALL people like shit.
She is obnoxious but she is sweet. She is loyal and caring to those she loves.
I’ve completed this book and my rating remains the same.
It is a good book, it’s well written, it just doesn’t make sense. The premise is off. I should give it one star for that but because it’s well written it gets two.

Hands down the best one in the series!
The others were ok, easy to read and the storyline was somehow captivating. However not a single one of them could display two characters that raw. It was so real as if i was reading their diaries...that feeling was brilliant and what i always look for in a book.
Normally the latter books in a series are not as good as the former ones, especially the first one in the series, yet I believe this book is definitely an exception to that rule.
Can’t wait to read what will happen next.

Warning… this contains spoilers from the previous books in the series… so if you haven’t read them you might want to before you read on.
Well, we could see this happening really couldn’t we after book 7 (forever). From the moment Heath took Catalina hostage there was chemistry. But there’s an issue… her brother Damien. The Skull King and Damien have a turbulent mutual hatred for each other, and it’s deadly.
Despite knowing this and knowing that a relationship is so inappropriate their need for each other is just too strong.
Now… I know a lot of people hate Heath because of how he presents in the previous books, but if you’ve read the Skull King Series, you’ll know that actually Heath is very likeable and sweet when you get to know him. He’s fiercely loyal and has a huge heart, even though he tries to hide it.
The problem is, this feud between Damien and Heath is not going to go away. Damien, in particular is so stubbornly fighting this war against his adversary that he can’t let it go. Even when Heath has had the means, motive and opportunity to end him, he’s shown mercy. A mercy very rarely offered. Yet, Damien can’t back down and move on. Admittedly, he did almost execute Damien’s dad, assisted his girlfriend’s ex-husband in kidnapping her and held his sister hostage (although he doesn’t know that part yet!)… so you can forgive him for holding a grudge I suppose. But it is not going to make a relationship between Catalina and Heath very easy.
So far, they are managing to keep their secret. But how long will that last. And with Heaths rein over the Skull Kings being somewhat perilous… will he sacrifice his power or his woman?
Great story. Fantastic fiery characters that both give as good as they get. Love their love/hate relationship because even when they are mad at each other, it’s only because of the depth of feeling.
Can’t wait to read on. Will Heath and Damien ever bury the hatchet? (Preferably not in each others head!)

I'm going to start this review backwards and say, that cliff hanger has me mind boggled! Those last few pages had me pacing while reading! I was at the edge of my seat and talking to myself. Unbelievable. I'm not sure if there was any of that I could predict, but once I was in it, there was no thinking and just enjoying the read!
Okay, going back to the beginning. I am going to be honest and say that I was kind of sad to moving on to Catalina and Heath. I'm biased, so I don't really care for Heath but I was very excited to get to know Catalina more. With that being said and the book is done, I don't like Heath any more than I already did, but this storyline absolutely tugged at my heart strings! He is not the character that you would expect but at the same time the exact character that you would expect. Penelope Sky does an excellent job with this entire series doing that. She captures the essence of being human and having layers and being a complex conundrum of the person that you are on the outside and the person that you are in the inside. She also does a great job of creating powerful women in these stories to parallel and balance the strong men. I am thoroughly pleased by that; I do really like the female characters in these stories. With that said, this book in particular does have a trigger warning and I made the mistake of reading through that portion before bed and it kind of spooked me. But that's another thing about these books; they're so real. These books depict real life. But it's such a good story development, spiced up by the plot twists and little important conversations. It's a really good romance that keeps you on your toes.

Be careful what you ask for because someone will come along and give to you in spades.
Heath is the Skull King, the man who runs every underground and corrupt organization in the area. Ruling with a iron fist, collecting his cut from each business every month and making sure to keep the peace between everyone. He's smart, handsome and loyal, but after meeting a woman who is the sister to his enemy, will he be able to let her go and stay away or will his new feelings and interest in this fabulous woman be his downfall?
Catalina is a beautiful ballerina who likes to go out with her friends and have a good time but after being taken by Russian human trafficking group will she find her soulmate rescuing her from hell.
Heath can't stay away from Catalina and he pushes her to have a sexual relationship to scratch the itch they both have. How far will this relationship go and will they be able to keep it from her family and will he be able to stay The Skull King with his new feelings growing each day for her?
I have been waiting for this couple to get their story but as with each story Penelope Sky has written she amazes me with how deep she pulls us in and makes us feel for these characters.
I will be impatiently waiting for the next chapter in Heath's and Catalina's story and praying they find a way to make it all work out for them.

Catalina is a beautiful ballerina who likes to go out with her friends and have a good time but after being taken by Russian human trafficking group will she find her soulmate rescuing her from hell.
Heath can't stay away from Catalina and he pushes her to have a sexual relationship to scratch the itch they both have. How far will this relationship go and will they be able to keep it from her family and will he be able to stay The Skull King with his new feelings growing each day for her?
I have been waiting for this couple to get their story but as with each story Penelope Sky has written she amazes me with how deep she pulls us in and makes us feel for these characters.
I will be impatiently waiting for the next chapter in Heath's and Catalina's story and praying they find a way to make it all work out for them.

Review for “Lie” #8 by Penelope Sky
Once Heath figured out he was attracted to Catalina he became very persistent and started chasing her, which he does not do with any woman. He shows up unannounced and demands her attention. Heath likes the way Catalina stands up to him and her zest for life and even her cockiness. These traits actually make Heath more attracted to her. They are keeping their relationship a secret. Heath is keeping a secret about himself in relation to her family and the way he runs his business. He believes that she would never forgive him because she told him up front that her loyalty lies with her brother Damien, long time nemesis to Heath. Plus his prior dealings with Damien and her father. Read this next book and see where it takes you! As always I went through many emotions reading this book too. I also found myself rooting for this couple despite the way Heath and Catalina met. Penelope Sky continues writing these great stories. I’m excited to start the next book in this series, “Secret.”

En este libro conoceremos la historia de Heath (es el hermano de Balto, personaje de la trilogía de Skull King), y Catalina, quienes se conocieron en circuntancias desafortunadas, pero que con el pasar de las semanas, se creara una increible atracción, trataran de negarse a ello pero se darán cuenta que es inevitable.
Este libro me ha gustado mucho, Catalina es una chica segura, espontanea, fuerte, y sobre todo con sentido del humor, que no teme a hacerle frente cuando se quieren sobrepasar, y por esto se vera envuelta en una situación de lo más angustiante, pero que recibira ayuda de quien menos se imagina. Por su lado, Heath, es un tipo arrogante pero quien no tiene miedo de afrontar sus sentimientos, esto es lo que más me ha gustado.
La trama de este primer libro es sencillo, nos narra como Heath y Catalina se conoces, como ella a fin de no traicionar a su familia decide alejarlo, pero en cierto momento recibira su ayuda, por lo que, vera de otro modo a Heath. Aunque me ha parecido un poco predecible, pero igual me ha enganchado mucho.

Wow!!!
The character dynamics in this one had me on the edge of my seat. This is a true 'enemies to lovers' story!
Catalina is a firestorm by herself, however, when paired with Heath!! It becomes a volcano! These two have such chemistry - they both know nothing can happen between them for many reasons. Yet, it is so hard to stay away from each other.
Heath is an interesting character, he is the Skull King, but Lie shows another side him. He also has a heart!! He let Catalina go after he kidnapped her in Forever. He can't keep his mind off of her. The ways he pursues he even though he knows they can't have a relationship says quite a bit about him.
Can they have a one night stand to hopeful get over the curiosity and sexual tension or will they have a 'taboo' relationship?
This book is so good, I stayed up all night to finish!!

We now embark into the world of Heath and Catalina’s story. Heath introduces himself to Catalina in the worst way- kidnapping. But he sets her free and now weeks/months later he can’t stop thinking of the little spitfire. So when he sees her one night in the bar after ballet, he is drawn to her confidence. And the chemistry between them is combustible, but Cat refuses him because of her loyalty to her brother. Heath still wants to kill Damien and same with Damien. But when Cat is taken into the dark world Heath runs, he acts to save her and then the walls break for them in a way to be together.
This was jammed back with passion. I couldn’t put it down. I really liked these two together and the bluntness they have for each other. Heath is so tough but so sweet. Car is a fierce woman but is deathly loyal to those she loves and that seems to start to include Heath. Her loyalties will now include him it seems.
