It doesn’t go so well (does it ever?) and Max needs to figure out if he can really leave his past behind and get free. Or if he needs to embrace it and maybe destroy whatever is left of himself.
Mike lives outside Boston with my wife, two kids and Dashiell Hammett.
Dash is the family dog.

Back in the days when Max worked for crime boss Carter in Boston, he fell in love and wanted out. Something Carter couldn’t let happen. Instead of Max, it was his wife and child that got killed. And now he’s responsible for his brother’s death in Chicago as well. So we could say that ‘ex’-criminal Michael Sullivan, as he was called then, has some scores to settle. But in Boston is also the sister of his wife, who’s a state trooper and blames Sullivan for the deaths as well as Carter.
If you don’t like action or violence stay clear because this is a fast-paced thriller and an exciting read. I hadn’t read the previous stories, but I’m going to now because I like to find out more about this unlikely hero. There are some interesting side characters as well and I’m curious which ones will turn up again.

Excellent action-thriller with a great plot and believable characters. Very good entertainment.

Hollow City
Really liking these books. So on to the next one and hoping there will be more about the people in Max's adventures. Like the way the story moves along.

An amazing mystery with Max Strong as the lead character of course! He really has a way of predicting what others WILL do!

Michael gets revenge
Plenty of twist and turns in this well thought out story. Michael picks up a friend that helps him try to settle his score.
