‘A Kind of Commitment’ by Pratibha Malav is a story that revolves around Mausami who dreams of becoming a well known photographer. Her family members are not very happy with her aspirations and hence she has to struggle a lot. One day Artaksh (Sadhya’s Cousin) just comes into her life but as Mausami was already facing a lot of problems in her life she had become reserved. She hardly used to talk anyone and hence during a party she and Artaksh they both end up fighting which ends up in an ugly manner. But soon Artaksh makes up with Mausami and they both soon fall in love with each other at least Mausami was. But for Artaksh it was all about revenge. Soon Mausami moves to Mumbai where a new life is waiting for her. Somehow she starts believing in love again but her past just won’t let her live her life peacefully. Does she get over Artaksh? What happens in Mumbai that which makes her believe in love again? To know read ‘A Kind of Commitment’

The plot is well written it was somewhat predictable too. It was very emotional at times to see how Mausami was suffering for no fault of hers. But the readers also have a lot to learn from Mausami like she never gives up. She is determined to achieve her goals. I am sure the readers will connect with the plot. Each page has a plot twist and will keep the readers hooked till the last page.

The author has done portrayed the characters excellently. They are very much relatable and I was really annoyed with Artaksh and how he makes Mausami’s life a hell. There’s a lot to learn from Mausami she takes everything positively and changes herself a lot after going through all the suffering. Mausami is very lucky to have the best people in her life. I liked the friendship between Mausami and Sadhya and later her friendship with Anuj and Usha too.

Language is simple and lucid and the readers can easily flow through the story. The narration is done beautifully.

The book cover is simple but is apt to the plot. The title of the book is interesting and apt to the plot.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and would surely recommend it to all.

We usually take wrong decision in our lives and later regret it. But then life becomes a mourning where you don't know how to be happy. In the book 'The Kind of Commitment' Mausami is the protagonist who took a wrong decision by leaving her parents home in order to achieve her dreams. Then she started living her life with her best friend Sadhya. There she met her brother Artaksh. She had concealed her heart and does not want to fall in love whilst in this situation. But Artaksh tried very hard attract her and she finally fall for him. Then one night Artaksh used her. She was innocent that time and was not knowing that he was actually taking revenge for the slap she had given to him in the past. She broke apart after knowing that. ..
..
One way her mother was not accepting her in her house and now her first break up totally tore her apart. She wanted to commit suicide at that moment. But life gives a second chance to everyone once. Mausami got an email from Rajveer Singh to be her assistant photographer. There she goes to start her new life where she finally be able to achieve her dreams. She made a commitment of not regretting her past mistakes and move on with her new life. But she is now a carefree girl who wants to fall in love again but is afraid of opening her concealed heart. Her two friends Usha and Anuj is a big fan of Anirudh Jha, a famous singer. So they both had taken Mausami in a concert where the singer would come. Mausami and Anirudh met accidently and fall for each other. Now the question comes is her love for Anirudh real this time? Will she able to open her concealed heart? Title on its own reveals the main thing that the relationship wants a commitment of being there for every time and everything.
The book story is all about friendship, passion for dreams, love, romance, feelings, emotions, hurts, positivity, negativity, etc, which is based upon Fictional Romance.
The starting with the relationship of Mausami & Artaksh till their breakup there is a formation of friendship & love then afterwards the struggling life of Mausami's life then thereafter ones again relationship but this time it's a boy who is very truthful to her.
But, at last ones again her past come back and vanish her life.
Everything is good but the ending of the story is a sad one.

3.5/5

I am in a kind of dilemma regarding this book. While I have heard and seen rave reviews about this one, I was simply not able to connect.

The book revolves around the life of Mausami, a person who is surrounded by her past. Her first relationship with Artaksh turned out to be a ploy by him to take revenge from Mausami. This left her in utter state of shock and heartbreak. When everything failed she tried to move ahead inife by flirting with boys and leaving it at just that. Till, one day she comes across Anirudh Jha. The singer who took her heart away. The book progresses and so does their relationship. Unfortunately, this relation also ends up in shambles and Mausami commits to stay happy always for no one else but herself.

What I liked-
(1) The story though cliche, but is one that is evergreen and the Author does a good job to make it her own.
(2) There are good one liners and then some.
(3) The title fits perfectly with the narration.

What I didn't-
(1) The language feels massively immature. While I understand the effort is to make writing connect to today's reader but it just falls through.
(2) At certain points, I found the book too cheesy. (Anirudh had seeped into her brain very deeply) Not for me atleast!!
(3) While great percentage of book is dedicated to explain what love is I feel at such a young age no one can properly realize what love is and to write about it.
(4) Good amount of grammatical errors.
(5) The book felt confusing in certain parts.

To conclude, while this is a good debut, According to me lot of work needs to be done for the next book. Will recommend to romance fiction lovers!!

Mausami has faced a lot of problems in her life. The story of the book starts with Mausami being close friend to Sandhya where she met with his cousin Artaksh. Slowly the life of Mausami was going to change. She come in relation with Artaksh. But something else was waiting for her. What happened to her he is no more in his life. She moved on and started doing the job. Now she hated love and now she is working with Rajveer singh.

She come in contact with her brother Ansh and mother. Life was about to take an unexpected turn in her life. Now she used to stay with Usha and Anuj. She met with Anirudh Jha and her life changed. Mausami is now enjoying her best phase of life but wait twist is yet to come that will change her life for ever. We think every end is sweet but after reading you will find how hard has life become for Mausami. The person she loved from her heart don't know what happened and are no more in her life.

The title of the book suitable to the story of Mausami where she made a commitment not to regret for the mistakes she has made in her life. What happened with Anirudh Jha who used to love her very much. The end is very heart touching and will make you cry.

I recommend reading this wonderful book.

Pratibha Malav's debut book "A Kind Of Commitment" is a fiction revolving around a woman named Mausami.

Blurb more or less gives away the plot, within first few chapters one can predict the plot lines but author's narration is so good that readers get engrossed with the plot/ characters and stay till the end. It is regular make and break saga of Mausami's life and how stands strong in the end with no regrets about her life so read to know more about her life. Plot involves /takes you on roller coaster ride of Mausami's emotions, her career, her friends, her family, her love and status change in relationship, etc. Characters portrayed are relatable and language is simple.

Overall a nice one time read.

The entire story is of a young girl Mausami who moves to Mumbai when her heart is broken and her family has left her to die.
She finds comfort and support in the city where she not only becomes popular as a photographer but also finds someone to love her who's just like her. The rising star- Anirudh Jha!!!
But her past knocks on her door and she breaks again only to get more strong mentally.
I'd say Pratibha has done a nice work in penning this book........ Good luck girl for upcoming books.......

Pratibha Malav's writing is as beautiful as her. The novel seems entirely interesting with an opening scene of Mausami's room where she meets Artaksh. The two of them doesn't get along first but later she ends up falling for him and it only breaks her heart. It made me sad a little but the scene where Anirudh and Mausami collides...oh my god, it's my favorite one ........ Overall speaking I'm glad that I read the book.... I just hope Anirudh and Mausami meet in pratibha Malav's sequel of this book 🙃🙃💘💘

What I loved above this book is that inspite of being a Bollywood_y story, the book doesn't fail to amaze you at every chapter. Artaksh was a big dick and Anirudh was an innocent soul. On the top of it, Mausami was a keeper. These two souls were made for each other but couldn't. It madee cry but it also made me happy than winning love or keeping it doesn't give you joy. Following your passion and not embracing regrets is the real victory. Kudos to Pratibha Malav for writing down such a wowsome book.... Hoping more books from you. 💘💘💘💘💘

A title and cover of a book can make it bestseller. So true. I simply loved the new cover of the new edition of "a Kind Of Commitment" . Pratibha has done a great job with expressing the inner feelings of a girl. She has described each character very beautifully. Life is not about loving someone with all your heart, it is also about giving your dreams priorities. It's also about making commitments to yourself even when everything around you shatter and demand your undivided attention. Overall it's an interesting book 😉😉

Pratibha Malav's debut book "A Kind Of Commitment" is a heart touching story. The main characters in the story are Mausami, Anirudh and Artaksh. The life of Mausami revolves around these two guys. One breaks her heart and in another she finds comfort. She puts lots of hard-work towards her goals side by side. In the end life she learns that she only needs to stay committed to her goals, there is no point in giving control of your life to others.
Do read this outstanding story everyone

Commitments are not made only in relationships, commitments can also be made in friendship. Commitments are not only for couples, commitments can be made to yourself too. Commitment to not regret over past, commitments to follow your passion in every tough situation, commitment to let go of things which bring you no joy and no peace. Pratibha Malav has done a nice work by writing this book...... Keep it up 👍

A kind of commitment is simply amazing. It's is fine edited and written. Pick it up first even if you've 10 other books to read. The story of the book is unique. It'll make you fall in love with yourself. ♥️It'll insist you to think about life and your goals of life in case you've none. Mausami is my favorite character in the book. Her flatmate Usha just added more fun to it. Guys, go ahead, pick it up....... You won't regret

When an innocent girl who has a desire to become a popular photographer elopes from her home, she finds nothing but only difficulties. But it doesn't stop her from chasing her dreams. The further she goes, the more she gets stronger. Yes it's true her heart gets broken but it only makes her fall in love with herself. The ending is painful but it's worth it. Love isn't always about keeping, it's also about letting go. I'd recommend this book to everyone..... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

They say "books can be your bestfriends" . Yes, true!! Books like A Kind Of Commitment can be your bestfriends which not only feels you but also speaks to you. "A kind of commitment" totally lives up to the title but don't get confused. Here Mausami doesn't make commitments to the love of her life but she makes commitments to herself to not have regrets, to not shed tears over past, to not chase people but her passion.

The book of Pratibha Malav *A kind of commitment* is all about commitments, regrets, few lies and madness to reach your goals. In the end no one stays but your own self so why chase people and not your own shadow? Why chase people and not your dreams? Definitely a good book to motivate yourself and the people around you who are fighting a serious case of self-loathing.

A Kind Of Commitment is not really a Romance book but rather an inspirational book. Yes, it's true that Mausami's breakups happen twice but both times she gets stronger and becomes more dedicated to her dreams and goals. While reading this book, I felt like I was the one it was happening with. I didn't want this book to end. It's very well written and edited.

It's one of the few books that I've read in one sitting. I felt wonderful after reading it. And it made me realise that in the end all matters is mental peace and self-love. People come and go, so why crying over it? Your mind isn't a garbage. It's not a place to keep other's burden or regrets. The plot is very straightforward. Guys go ahead, read it.

The cover is apt considering the content of the story. The musical instrument used here gives an overview of the story and the theme inscribed in it.

Title is somewhat unique yet has a nice ring to it. A good choice from the author's end. It goes in hand with the story.

Theme is about conflicting emotions, battle of love & hatred as a person embodiment on his/her journey on life. Its a romantic comedy with a collusion of hatred, rage & perception of goals. It talks about how a person needs to focus on his career and dreams and perhaps this may lead to his/her downfall in life, but sometimes considering the worst-case scenario, it might act the other way around. It may also boost his life in a positive way.

Story revolves around many characters life Mausami, Antarksh, Anirudh, Sandhya, Usha and Anuj. Mausami, the central character lives a carefree life with a focus on her goals. Things start changing when she falls in love and at the next moment, her life is in chaos. When she tries to balance her life out of all the chaos amidst her, she realizes she should give an another chance to life. Things were very well depicted in her life as fate & almighty had planned in store for her. But as we know, at the end of the day happiness is just another dream we perceive to grab but unfortunately it slips out of our hands. The ending and climax was somewhat unexpected and gives a sad touch to it, though it may be liked or disliked by many, conflicting opinions always revolve around when we finish many books which has different stories. "Love happens when you least expect it to," and as the saying goes, the story also revolves around this dogma & pragmatic endeavor of how a kind girl can change over time amidst the dilemma & the various circumstances she endures throughout her life. How hardships and pain can make a person's life in a complete chaos.

Language is simple and kept in flow with the story. Initially, it would let you down, but as the reader progresses through the book, it is the latter part which makes him happy and content to read. Many a times, the reader may find it too simple and could have been better. A bit more of compilation & poetic touch could have enhanced it further. The narration is narrowed and could be improved as well. The book contains many errors which proved a bit of a nuisance at times, but considering the fact the author is a debut one, it can be improved.

Overall, its a good read. A must buy for readers who wanna try something afresh and different. Looking forward to read more books from the author and wishing her good luck for her journey.

I generally refrain from picking love stories but as fate has it, these days, I am coming across them in bulk. What made me to read this novel was a unique kind of musical touch to it ranging from the cover to the contents inside. And though there are several instances throughout the book at which I was feeling as if I am constantly communicating with the author to plan it a bit differently but still I am glad I did pick this for a sneak peek into a teenager life that it offers deeply.

The tale revolves around Mausami and her gradual growing up turning into a somewhat level headed individual contrary to what she was initially. The female protagonist is portrayed as a focussed person too passionate about photography but destiny has different plans in store for her and she couldn't save herself from getting bitten by love bug too when her life takes a 360 degree turn for good resulting in her moving to Mumbai in pursuit of happiness. Soon, after a vicious heartbreak, she finds herself in middle of nowhere but gather her courage to come out with flying colours. Another encounter with a different person now transforms her into an idealistic sort of person holding an idiosyncratic view of life possessing an iconoclastic attitude. What happens next? Grab the book to know more.

The book has an intrinsic poetic vibe to it and that could have been explored more by the author to even make a further connect with the readers. The narration in the second half is way better than the first and it seems like with the lead character, even the writer has grown by leaps and bounds. Though I personally feel, there are various points where Mausami is shown to be a bit victimised due to the circumstances whereas more often than not it was her blunders and inane disposition which led to most of the issues in her life. The climax won't look justified to most of the readers owing to the gloomy touch it bears but the cover and title couldn't have been more appropriate. Overall, a dramatic book that can be given a try especially by the teenagers as they will be able to connect with it more than adults

The Book “A Kind of Commitment” is debut novel of Pratibha Malav. Published by KALAMOS publications, the book stands in the subcategory of Romantic fiction. Driven by the main character Mausami, the lead revolves around the life of a teenage girl facing Infatuation and lust. The character stands adamant in describing the life of most of the teenage groups facing the problem of mood swings. The book written by author contains 212 content page with a matte, perfect bound cover. The cover itself exemplifies the mood of this romantic novel. The guitar in front and an engagement ring shows that prominent character wants to have a romantic liaison. With too much of characters in the novel, it’s hard enough to find the real mood of Mausami at first, but at last part, most of the part in her life is played by Anirudh and Atakrsh. These two people change the chubbiness of Mausami into a bit solemnity. The fixation of taking lust as love drives the whole novel.

The Hindi slangs used in the middle of the novel make the writings more Indianized. The expurgation of the novel is done in a most descriptive way as possible. Pratibha’s storytelling features in the standpoint of the leading character Mausami shows the way author thought of knitting the character. The character went more sensitive in the emotional quest as compared to the starting of the novel. The chubbiness of Mausami was hasty at the first half of the book, where she doesn’t care about what she says to anyone. But, at the last, the book provides the silence perspective of the character, where worst circumstances of life took out the best for her.

The book “A kind of commitment” is a simple book of confusion between relationship and friendship. The Book can resemble most of our college life, where an adolescence takes shape of an adulthood. This book illustrates the story of a Female adolescence converting into an adult and mature human.

Very well written I really loved it and I would highly recommend. If you have ever........someone close to you you will want to read this book. My feelings towards each character changed numerous times throughout the book which I think is incredible for a writer to accomplish but it is done over and over again. It was so believable there was nothing that you couldn’t imagine actually happening. I really enjoyed it it is the best book I may have ever read. It is hard to explain but I felt emotionally tied to the story. It is a great eye opener into what people are really capable of. I will be recommending to all my friends and family.
Loved it !
More power to you @justpratibha♥✌
