I thought of would puke. I am sorry K.C. Crowne. This book was difficult to read. I could not finish it. I spent 20 minutes listening to her tell us how great she is. Ugh.

K.C. Crowne has given us a storyline with characters who are flawed and a storyline that shows the best and worst of human nature. She has woven the plot throughout seamlessly and added just enough angst to make things relatable. You have the stereotypical personality differences between classes, socialite and working class, and then of course there must be a villain. Yes, this is one of those stories that just make you go through a plethora of emotions until you get to the happily ever after. This is my honest review of the arc I was given.

This was a good read. Maddy finds out her fiance is cheating and then she dumps him. However, her parents seem to think that they should still be together. Then she meets Jax and things get complicated. Thankfully everything for them works out in the end and they get their happy ending.

Maddy wants to be taken seriously by her father and her boyfriend. However her father sees her as a woman and unable to take over the family business, and her boyfriend is more than happy to take over as CEO of HER family business. He is also more than happy to sleep with as many women as possible. Maddy has had enough and is ready to let loose. Jax became a firefighter because of a tragedy in his past. He has never really recovered from it. Any loss on the job sends Jax back to that dark place. His boss tells him he needs to see a therapist. Jax is so angry he just wants to let loose. What will happen if Maddy and Jax let loose together? Great Read !

Madeline was the daughter of a real estate magnate and very rich. She was also engaged to Derek who worked in the company and expected to take over when her father retired. All he has done is cheat on her and spent thousands of dollars on strippers and nightclubs. Maddy had enough! She broke it off with him and went to her best friend’s apartment to find solace and to go out as a regular person. She colored her platinum hair black so she would not be recognized by the media. Jax is a firefighter who is slowly burning out because of his past and not being able to save people he lost in fires. His boss gave him an ultimatum. Take time off and see a therapist if he wanted to keep his job.
That night the two met in a bar and had two wonderful nights together. Jax has no idea who she truly is and that is the way she wants it. She felt a real connection with Jax but knew it could go no further. Her parents and Derek refused to believe things were over. Her parents and Derek kept pushing her to make things right and get over the cheating. Then, she discovers she is pregnant! Jax discovers it through media and goes to her to see if it is true. They hook up at her fake engagement party and she tells her parents and Derek she is done with the lies and storms out. She gets into an accident! What will happen? Will she lose her life and the baby? Who caused the accident? Will she have her HEA? This book has steamy scenes and is a fast-paced read. Will the journey to love cost Madeline and Jax everything? I received this book for free and am leaving a voluntary review.

Good romance combining family duty and individual freedom.
Good and simple romance for two beings who question their life, their goals and meet at this moment. The world described here of American high society is not morally very glamorous, but I loved its endearing characters, two worlds that meet by chance.
Madeline, a famous heiress, drops her fiancé, whom she has known for a long time, but who is only a cheater who also goes to see prostitutes. She also realizes that she does not want this illusion of the future housewife of high society, perfect, who waits wisely at home, while she has already spent her childhood with her movements scrutinized by the press, and that she has a father who will never allow her to inherit his empire, but who expects from her a male heir, when she only wants to take his succession. Even if she does not know how to do it, she leaves so that her fiance does not find her, at least for a few days, sheltered from the press. She meets Jax, a firefighter, put to rest forced after a difficult intervention, in a bar. These two souls recognize the need not to be alone that night. But in Maddy's family and her ex-boyfriend continue to organize her life for their image and, without her advice as she tries to break free, leaving Jax on the side as well. Yet overnight, after a new discovery, her life will take a new turn and she will have to choose the path she will take, alone or accompanied.

I have really enjoyed other books by this author and this one fell a short for me. Maddy is a doormat who has put up with a cheating fiance way too long since he's who her parents want her to be with. She wants to become CEO of her dad's company but he constantly dismisses her efforts and talents. She finally gets fed up enough to break up with the jerk fiance, but then hides from him and her parents instead of dealing with the ramifications. She's concerned about how it will look and her family's reputation, but I would think it would look worse if his cheating got out and she'd done nothing.

She has a fling with Jax who is emotionally struggling. He's depressed by the victims they lose in fires since he's a fireman. But the deaths aren't his fault and I don't understand why this is an issue. I would expect a fireman to be saddened by these deaths. It didn't impact his ability to do his job, but he ends up suspended.

I like the dynamic between Maddy and Jax and thought their "romance" was sweet. I just wish she had been less of a doormat and Jax's "problems" didn't result in an unnecessary suspension. It would have been better if he had simply been convinced to take a vacation and if his therapist had been more believable. The ending was good, but a little predictable. I don't want to give any spoilers so I'll just say that I knew what was coming.

Big Bad Fireman’s Baby is the first book in K.C. Crowne’s Firemen of Manhattan series. In this book, Ms. Crowne introduces her readers to two dynamic lead characters—Madeline and Jaxon. She hails from a well-established and wealthy family and works in her father’s real estate development company. Jax is a firefighter suffering from PTSD. His chief puts him on paid leave and orders him to work with a therapist. While on leave, he meets and is smittened with Madeline. She is trying to extricate herself from domineering parents and a cheating fiance. Can she find solace in Jax’s arms? Will he in hers? What happens when she discovers she is pregnant? How will her parents react? Will she finally rid herself of her fiance, Derek? What will Jax do when he discovers he is going to be a father? You must read this book to find out.

Like any of the other works I’ve read my Ms. Crowne, I find myself throroughly enjoying each one. This book is no exception. Ms. Crowne weaves an intriguing character-driven plot with several twists and turns. I like how she incorporate several themes like self-centeredness, trust issues, overbearance, self-doubt, and greed to add intrigue into this urban romance.

Maddy is from a rich family and one day hopes to run her father’s real estate business when he retires. She’s had enough of her fiancé cheating and decides to go out and have a good time for herself. She’s known in the press so she changes her appearance and goes to a bar that not one she’d usually go to. Jax is a fireman that has emotional issues about the people that they couldn’t save in the fires. He goes out with other firefighters to the bar they go to unwind at. He sees Maddy and they talk and she takes him back to the apartment she’s staying at. They spend the night together and then the next day go their own way. He misses her and wonders where she’s at until he sees her picture in the paper with her fiancé announcing her pregnancy. He realizes that they had unprotected sex and that it’s probably his baby. Maddys family was told about her fiancé cheating and they told her to forget it. Now does she go along with what’s expected or go with her heart and Jax! Maddy, is on the fast great to becoming CEO of her father's company.
The only problem is, that he is old fashioned and thinks a male should do it. Someone, like her lying cheating, now soon to be ex.
She always been in the spot light. Always in the eyes of the media and family reputation is everything to be family.
She wants a night where she can let her hair down and not worry about the media.
She knows she has to do it discreetly, so when she meets Jax and the sexual tension is off the charts, she invited him back to her friends home.
Jackson, is a firefighter who has seen his share of loss. As he struggles with it, his boss make him take some time off and talk with a therapist.
When he meets Maddy, they both recognize the need to how off some steam.
Even though they come from different walks of life, they connect and when a baby comes along things really hit the fan.
A Happy ever after.

Maddy was the typical Manhattan socialite who was tired of fitting into the mold of a good wife and obedient woman. After the last exploits from her fiancé Derek she was done. Jax was a firefighter who dealing with yet another loss on the job. Something firefighters are use to but every person that the can’t save stays with them. Jax and Maddy meet to people who seem to be looking for the same thing at the same time. They connect in more ways than one but Maddy refuses to put Jax in the middle of her messy life no matter how strong the chemistry. Both must into the conclusion of what they really want. Will Maddy continue to make decisions that will make her family and the media happy or will she finally make decisions that make her happy? Will Jax see that even a man like him that has lost or have even less to offer be deserving of love?

They hit it off, and they both needed to blow off some steam


Jax is a burnt out firefighter all the things he sees are taking a toll on him, he is almost at his breaking point. It started out as a one night stand but ended up being so much more.

Even though Maddy broke things off with her ex her parents were only caught up with appearances they cared more for that then their own child even to the fact that they wanted her to lie about the father of her child calling him a nobody and then when you think things are about to wrap up something else unexpected happens.

And then the end I loved how everything was wrapped up and the ex whom her parents loved may have been a man none of them truly knew.

Good accidental pregnancy romance

Some typos but the pacing and story went well in this novel. Enough sex without losing storyline. Although I am not crazy about how every single one of these books has to have one of the MCs be a billionaire, it wasn’t as annoying as usual since it was the girl. If anything the girl is the one who makes the mistake of cutting the H off and agreeing to go with her family’s wishes. I would rate this a 3.7/5 overall but I think it’s fair if this one comes out as a 4.4/5 average. 7.5/10 on sex o meter - as I said, just enough sex with 3 scenes for the length, but they could have been a little more fun. This would be one I would read again as a surprise pregnancy romance. And that is indeed high praise in the KU universe.

Madeline is from a rich and famous family working for her father and hoping to become the CEO on day. Her ex fiance Derek is cheating on her and one day she had enough. She wants to be happy and living her life starting at a bar. Here she meets the firefighter Jax. What was supposed to be a one night stand becomes so much more. But her family and Derek is not happy about it. Will she ever find happiness ? This book was one of the best I have read in a long time. It just had that little ekstra and I couldn't put it down. It was sad and emotional but also filled with love and happiness. I loved it

Oh wow, if ever a story had me hooked from the first page,this is it.
Maddy has had enough...her cheating now ex, her family, lack of social privacy , what to do. Who knew that little bar would change her life forever. Meeting him...Jax , a firefighter who would change her life forever. The chemistry is off the charts for them both . Two people,two different lifestyles but with one goal in mind. Something normal and a love to last forever.
Add to the mix , friends, family, drama,danger, love, passion and that’s for starters. A story I won’t forget in a hurry for a long long time

I've read a few of your books and this one was just as amazing as the others. In this one we meet this woman who us famous but wants to be normal. Crappy boyfriend,  family issues, but says to hell with it...finds a man. From there it's a whirlwind of fun, sexy and happy times. Things go back and forth but by the end it's made right and they both get their HEA.  I absolutely love your work and can't wait for more. I give it 5 stars. This is the first book in a new series by Ms. Crowne about firefighters *sigh*. I adore my firefighters and Jax was no exception. Both he and Madeline are at a "tough" place in their lives at the moment. A chance encounter leads to what is supposed to be a one-time thing. Yet, fate has other plans. Is there any hope for a socialite and firefighter to have a HEA? I enjoyed reading this story and I can't wait to see with firefighter is next. My vote is for Finn.

When Maddy is finally completely fed up with her “fiancé” Fate steps in to help her. She goes to an “ordinary” bar where she meets Jax. As a fireman he is having emotional issues because of the people his team had been unable to save. One thing leads to another, and they end up together for the night. Their stories are compelling, and their story shows the strength of “real” love. Ms. Crowne’s talented writing brings this story to life.

A story of two people from completely different backgrounds, it is one you don't want to put down once you start. Maddy is dealing with trying to get away from her life, ex-fiancé, and all the stress of being a socialite constantly in the paparazzi's eye. Jax is dealing with the heavy weight of being a fireman and guilt of not being able to save everyone. Together they are able to help each other get away from it all. I loved the two of them together, they are exactly what each of them needed. A truly great read! You will definitely enjoy!

there is so much to this book I cant even know where to begin. I loved the intereaction with Jax and Maddy. Jax is this soft sensitive fireman that has a emotional past and it shows with the work he does. I ABSOLUTELY love how instead of the cocky arrogant firefighter this one is strong yet sensitive and emotional. Maddy is a force of nature. Shes the one trying to live up to everyones standards only to be essentially brought back down to earth by Jax. My only complaint is that it starts out a little slow and confusing. Othere than that WELL WORTH THE READ

Well what can I say about this book without given much away. I've read many books and each one seems to run along the same line. Always the same story just told from a different angle. Well this one started of and I thought let's see where this is going. I was sceptical at first but as the story progressed as did the characters and I have to say it was one of the best books I've read in a long time. The story was refreshing and restored faith in humanity .

Maddy wants to go out and have a one-night stand after her fiancé cheats on her yet again. Unfortunately, because of her father’s real estate business, someone might recognize her. She goes to a bar she doesn’t usually go to and meets Jax, sparks fly and they share a steamy night. When Jax sees her again she is on TV with her fiancé and she is pregnant. He knows that baby is his, will he fight for his family? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama and steamy chemistry. I really liked it.

f this book had a soundtrack it would include "Uptown Girl" by Billy Joel and "Fire" by The Ohio Players. Socialite Madeline has had it with her cheating fiancé. Ready to throw caution to the winds, she has an incendiary night in the arms of firefighter Jax. A one night stand turns into so much more as the pair must work through issues, drama and angst to get their HEA. I enjoyed this story and look forward to the next book.

I really enjoyed reading this book!! This book was well written and had me intrigued!!! I didn’t want to put this book down, with all the drama, emotional roller of the emotions, the passion in the writing that captivated me!! I felt for Jax in this book, being a fire fighter is no walk in the park and losing victims is a lot to swallow... In the book as well Maddy has to be her own women and stop living for her family and fame!!! Jax and Maddy chemistry was crazy hot and heavy!!! Great book!!

Her wealthy family want her to stay with her cheating fiance, because it's less scandalous, but Maddy is over how bad he is treating her. She escapes and finds a sexy fireman (Jax) to help her get over her unworthy ex. I love Jax, he is protective, heroic and caring, everything that Maddy needs. Maddy is sometimes confused as to what she should do, but I loved her too, she has been brought up in wealth, but knows what should be valued more.

They Need Each Other

Jax, then Maddy walked into a bar, looked in each other's eyes and saw each others need for a friend and lover. Jax, a fireman, had fought a fire where there had been a fatality. Maddy, a rich executive, had caught her fiance cheating on her...again. What starts out as a one night stand just might be much more. This is a worthwhile read even though there are quite a few editing mistakes.

Amazing Read!

This story was amazing and romantic too! I loved how both Maddy and Jax both were down in the dumps and just wanted to blow off some steam and have a free moment to take a breathe and just really just be free to just exhale! However, one night turned into and of course then things become complicated!
You really will love this story, it's almost a reverse Cinderella story, instead of Prince charming, it's the princess and the pauper!
