The Enemy👽 Of My Enemy👽 is My Friend? Military Sci-fi 🚀💫💥🔫 Book 11 in the Series.📚 Of course it ends in a cliffhanger! The gist of this novel is that Admiral Pike🐺💪🔫🗡 must make a hasty alliance with a very dangerous enemy. Good story with interesting characters. These books follow two main characters who are in different places and circumstances in space💫. Both are enhanced humans but each is enhanced in an entirely different way. I got this e-book from Amazon📚 with KU
Jamie goes to visit the Guardian and his hip is sent into jump space. There a new race is discovered and they are lied to again. Although everythng is not up to par, they do get the ability to go into jump space , as an alternative to having to travel at FTL speed to reach Sol.
Great book, great series, more people should read it.
I like this book, and the series. The book is a fast-paced read, full of action and complex twist interns. You get to learn about the alien as well as the humans so you get to know both sides of the story. I believe that Pike and his artificial intelligence are the best characters in the book and series, more needs to be done with just those two. I don’t like the fact that the book left us on somewhat of a cliffhanger with a lot of dangling storing threads. I just don’t like cliffhangers. Who is the say that the author will be around to write the next book and that I will be here to read it. But if he is here to ride it and I am here to read it I will be happy to jump on the next book in the series. I don’t see a lot of reviews for this book and I think it’s a shame I think a lot of people are missing out on how great this series is please give it a try you won’t be disappointed
115th book and I think I am starting to enjoy them !
Vaulting and cavorting through galaxies and sub space sowing war and cobbling alliances; breath taking betrayal, torture, love, slaughter and alien life. Cold and calculating killers shaped by breathtaking cruelty with islands of succour. MAGIC!
Totally enjoyed this series tremendously and am keen to go beyond 11 books! I have been reading this series every day, especially during Covid lockdowns in Australia and it is excellent escapism, my only worry is it may end on this book as there are several stories left open ended that would be so good to close out.
I love the characters and can't wait for the next book. A very exciting adventure.I got to travel through several New galaxies and meet strong minded women and men. A most satisfying read. I NEED to find out more about Jamie puhlese!
I just never have the time to stop and write, I read constantly, don’t stop, go book to book like chapter to chapter , this series is fascinating. The more I read the I get caught up in it.
There were, however, some missteps in this book. Some inconsistencies & some passages are almost exactly the same as in another recently read series. It makes me think a certain degree of a 2 letter recent development, oft utilised in the story, has been used to assist in authoring those segments of the narrative. Now, last time I mentioned my suspicions of the use of this modern tool, the review was not published. Let's see this time. The saga continues to develop in a satisfying & intriguing way, though. Devices are used (literary devices) that I've seen cleverly employed in other recent famous book series, when a pivotal character is disposed of, but then another appears that will function similarly, but within an all together different framework, whilst still achieving the authors goals for the progression of the series arc. The Pike Chronicles still engage & excite me. I know where the story is likely going, but I continue to be very happy to go along for the ride. I honestly think any fan of Science Fiction Fantasy would be too. Let the created worlds delight you & carry you away. Wouldn't it be great if this somehow made its way into the realm of the visual arts? Done well, it could match, if not outshine the likes of The Expanse series, without taking itself quite so seriously.
I have really enjoyed the entire Jon Pike series of books. They are very creative, creating an intergalactic world that is filled with exotic creatures and aliens and advanced technologies. I found this particular book hard to put down. If I had one criticism, it would be better proofreading before publishing. I have found countless typos and missing words, especially in book three, that sometimes make it difficult to maintain a smooth read. Other than that, excellent all around.
The author is definitely a fan of science fiction. I see traces of several different science fiction books, movies and TV shows, with his own twist. The Kardashev 3 civilizations are a new twist and I like the Great Game they are playing. Still though, I wish the heroes were more diverse because as with all science fiction, they tend to be homogeneous in features associated with dominance rather than the human race as a whole.
