In the heart of Phoenix, in the Valley of the Sun, a new dawn is rising for the Phoenix Skulls.
Jace Bell, his club and his family are building new lives, making new friends and recruiting new members.
Their newest friends come in the form of a detective named Noah Campbell, obsessed with a crime he could never solve. In the midst of family drama, a serial killer running loose and a rival MC trying to take over, these people will learn all they need to know about love and family under the hot Arizona sun.
Come along on a ride that will leave you breathless and maybe you'll learn how to live all over again.
Ms Cooke has done it again, another intriguing story that kept you on edge and kept you turning the pages the entire time. The story was filled with angst, drama,love romance, addiction and was filled with a story of great characters, and we loved it from beginning to end.
Ava Kelly that women was too funny, she made us laugh out loud time and time again.I loved that the stories intertwined with one another, and I have to say there were more than a few surprises.
As always, got to love Beck taking her man's back and I love how she got in the prospect's face saying that she would be thoroughly pissed if they disappointed her Pres. The way the author describes it, you could just imagine Beck's pissed off look and just don't want to F- with me face .lol
I loved Colin from the onset of the story and loved that he took the chance on grabbing his own happiness, and he melted my heart when he took one look at Ciara and knew he would make her his. In hindsight, they were what healed one another in order to finally grab the happiness they both deserved.
I am enjoying that fact that this author is including the friends of the club's stories as well, as we all know that they are assets to the club regardless of being actual members and have taken it upon themselves to include them in their ever-growing family.
I am always looking forward to the next book it this ever-growing series. We are so loving this series.....
So where do I begin? There as so much in this book that kept me jumping from one suspenseful story to the next. Though it wasn't really built around the MC there was still enough to keep me happy.
Collin's story was focused on his relationship with Ciara and his best friend Noah's relationship with his sister Ava. Each had their lives affected by psychos and a serial killer. This whole book kept you guessing on just who was going to make it out alive and whose life would be forever changed.
So sit back and be ready for a book that gave me my sexy biker, plenty of steam, alpha males and suspense that won't let you put this book down.
For me this title was misleading. It should have been Noah considering the first half of the book was more about him. Collin was the one who wanted to be a Skull but that's about it. There just seemed a bit of a misconnect for me. Noah was out looking for a serial killer. Who turns out to be no one. He may have lived a life of wealth but he was a nobody. Then when Noah and Collin find him its only because he is ready to be caught because he is dying. He was handed on a silver platter to them which I thought was a crappy way for it to come to a conclusion. Here we are wondering who, why and only to find out only because he was ready to end it. Which is how Ciara came to be a part of the story and from that point the book lost any interest. I didn't see any connection between her and Collin. They literally had no time to get to know each other except through email and text. She went of the rehab the minute she was found. Then the day she gets out they hook up and profess their love for each other. I didn't buy it
Noah has been hanging around the Skulls for awhile. Ava works for Noah. She had her own problem as her past comes back rearing its ugly head and threatens to tear her world apart. Noah is her brother's best friend and when he finds out what is going on he steps up becomes the man she needs. Colin, Ava's brother, had been around the MC as well. He saw the loyalty and closeness of the brothers and couples. He was tired of living the life his family chose for him and decided to make his own life with the MC. So much going on, battles, murders, past baggage, and newfound love. There is so much going on I couldn't put this book down. The characters may not be typical they all have their pasts and presents to deal with. The MC is there to support them all as two best friends fight for the women who will complete their world.
First this is mostly Ava and Nate's story then it finishes up with Collin. The Valentine's Killer is the majority of the story and some of the aftermath... There is some of the Skulls but its sorta like a side glance not very much is the club until the end. It is a good story but I like it when if the story is titled the name of a club member that they are at least the primary focus at least at first. I think in this story his love is a captive of the killer so maybe that's why it starts with his best friend and his sister's story.
This had hardly anything to do with the MC. Yes Collin finally joined the club but this book was mostly about finding Noah's sister and finding a serial killer. Collin fell in love with the sister after she cleaned up but that was club life. Collin had a stalker and nothing came of it... hopefully that comes back to play in another book. Next book is Boots and I know he is a club member so hopefully it's a real MC book.
Collin is changing his life he is quitting the fire department and joining the Phoenix skulls MC. But he is also helping his future brother in law to find his sister. She has been living on the streets for years hooked on drugs but the biggest problem is there is a serial killer out there that has it in for Noah his future brother in law. So enjoy the good read and see how bad it gets before it get good again!!
First, love everything Cooke writes. That being said, this book should have been titled "Noah Campbell" since he and Ava were the primary characters. Collin (Ava's brother) only had brief "appearances" until around the middle of the book. But I still enjoyed the story and all the characters - way to go Cooke!
Collin?? Could of easily of been called Noah n Ava
But made it easier to call it Collin cos Collin is gonna be a prospect for the Skulls.
Loved their background story and how it came full circle to then know the future including all the characters friends, families and lovers n old ladies lol
Really enjoyed the story, another great book in the series!!!
This book was not follow story, this was Noah's. Colin story didn't show up until the end of the book the it was rushed. I did like Noah story but once again she is telling 2 stories just stick to one and tell it right, introduce the characterer at the end for next book
This book covers more than one life, four people whose lives intertwine. Both men have sisters, and each find that one someone that we all dream of. Plenty of twists and turns, plenty of action and romance.
This is book twenty-nine in the series. Yes, can you believe it? It can be read as a standalone, though I would not. It is more beneficial to know who the players are because it is a massive series with little side ones. They all play together. A few things are going on in this story. I liked that it was different. You have two separate romances plus a suspenseful story trying to find a serial killer. The pace was a bit slow for me in the beginning but after a bit, I found myself invested and I was wanting to find out who the killer was. The book starts with a bang and not as I would ever come to think. I liked that and it set the pace. Though slow going it was well worth the read.
The first couple would be Ava and Noah. They work together and they have a great friendship along with a few lusty feelings. Ava is a real hardass at work. Even though she isn't the boss and Noah is he still is slightly afraid of her. Noah is a good guy and former cop turned private investigator. He left the force becaue of a prior case. Ava is trying to keep her past right where it is. She made some mistakes and is trying to move on. She doesn't want it to the surface and there some drama. That is where the past comes speeding back in.
Ciara and Collin are the other part of the story. Collin is a firefighter that lost his love for the job. He no longer wants to do that full time. He wasn't to prospect for the Skulls. He loves the brotherhood and he was a total outsider but they took to him and welcomed him. Ciara is a drug addict. When things don't go the way she wants she packs up and runs. Noah tries to help her but the more he pushes the more Ciara withdraws. Oh did I mention that Noah and Ciara are siblings just like Ava and Collin are siblings?
With that storyline going on you still, have the MC players as well in the background. I loved getting to read more about Lion and Finn, as well as Jace and Beck. They are a great group of guys they are truly brothers. This series is just so good. Now, there were a couple of books I just couldn't get into but that was all me and my struggle to read at the time. Then this one is different from what I have read before as I said earlier.
Ava and Noah have great chemistry and their banter is great. Collin is just what Ciara needed. I loved reading about her growth and how the four people came together. I liked everything these four persons strived for to get where they wanted. I'm excited for the next book in this series.
Two couples joined by blood and loyalty of the MC family. While Noah isn't a member or plans to become a member of the Phoenix Skulls, he is friends of the club and when he turns to them to help him find his missing sister there is no question only instant help. Noah has reason to believe the case that finally made him leave his job as a detective on the police force, The Valentine Serial Killer, might have his sister. He'd been looking for her as broken by drugs and what she had to do to maintain her habit.
Ava worked for Noah. Friends, sister of his best friend, and a woman he'd wanted for years. She had her own problem from a past that had come back to shame her, A past she couldn't tell her family. Would their stress force them to break through the boundary keeping them apart?
Colin, Ava's brother, had been around the MC, watching the custom bike business, and talking to the guys. He saw the loyalty and closeness of the brothers and couples. He was tired of living the life his family chose for him and decided to make his own life with the MC even at the high cost.
The search for Ciera touched him as more than an assignment. More than the fact she was the sister of his close friend. He wasn't sure what but he'd help find her.
Could a battle with a rival club disrupt it all?
So much going on, battles, murders, past baggage, and newfound love. There isn't a minute of quite in this book. I dare you to put it down. The characters may not be typical they all have their pasts and presents to deal with. The MC is there to support them all.
One more in this series that never fails to please the reader. Reviewed for Words Tur Me On
Collin: Phoenix Skulls is the 29th books in the Skulls MC series. This book is unlike any of the others from the series and if I were going to tell anyone to read them by themselves, it'd definitely be this one. While there are connections and backstories because this story is so different, your enjoyment won't suffer without the prior books.
Collin's story is really more of a shared story than his alone and actually takes a bit of a backseat to Noah and Ciara. Collin and Noah are buddies and Noah is about the only person to stand by him when Collin decides to quit his job as a firefighter to prospect as a Skull but that's just who he is; a stand up guy who doesn't judge. As a former cop turned private investigator and the brother of an addict (Ciara), Noah has pretty much seen it all. He believes he has no room to judge anyone. Besides no one really wants to get on the bad side of Ava, Collin's sister and Noah's badass office manager.
As Noah and Ava figure out what they are to each other, Phoenix faces down a serial killer in their midst. A killer that hits closer to home than anyone realizes.
Great book. A little slow in the beginning but the killer was creepy AF and the couples were awesome. Noah and Ava are dynamite! (Sad to say but I HATE the cover though. It kind of looks like someone photoshopped Zac Efron on a biker's body! Too skinny and too...smiley...for a Skulls book.)

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Cooke has become one of my go-to authors when it comes to a great MC romance novel so I was ready to get my hands on this newest one in series I love though each works as a stand alone. This one is like two stories for the price of one which I was really getting into. First we focus on Noah and Ava as things happen that throw them together making it impossible for them to deny their attraction they have repressing. Their portion comes to a satisfying conclusion for the most which changes us to Collin and what he is going through as he joins the MC as a prospect against his families wishes. Makes for an interesting story as it all interplay's together leading to a doozy of an epilogue giving us the ending we have been hoping for. A fantastic read for fans of the genre. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
This is my first Jessie Cooke book and I loved it. This is the 29th book in the Skulls MC series and I will tell you I wish I had read the others first. Not because Collin was anything less than great, because it was fantastic, But because there are so many characters and so much back story that I missed, clearly 28 books worth. I cannot wait to go back and read each of the others. This book is told in third POV, and told by many characters. I'm not a huge fan of third person, but Cooke makes it work well.
Noah, Ava, Collin, and Ciara are the two couples we meet in this book and they take us on a rollercoaster of a ride. Once I started I could not put it down. I loved every second of their stories. Add in the Valentine Killer and I was hooked.
Jessie Cooke gave us a book that was an absolute fantastic read, that kept me hooked the entire time. I cannot wait to go back and read the rest of the series.
Noah ,Collin , Ava and Ciara share their stories with us and take us on the ride of a lifetime. Noah is determined to catch the Valentine Killer. Collin needs to have the strength to love his life they way he wants to. Ava must voice her feelings and Ciara just needs peace and safety. These characters are fabulous. The storyline is one you don’t want to miss. Spectacular writing from the awesome author. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
This was really two books that stories were mixed together. Noah, Ava, Collin and Ciara were such engaging characters. I love that the story was so engaging and I never knew what was going to happen next. I absolutely loved this book and this is one author that you should be read and followed. Highly recommend this book!!!
I’m a newbie to this series and this author. So I started on book 29 🤷🏼♀️. This book is told from third person POV and several different characters (too many to name).
Collins books is at least two stories in one. A lot happens in this one and it kept my interest. It didn’t really focus on the MC, it was kinda just there, in the background, ready to help.
The most interesting part of this was the serial killer plot. It kept me guessing and guessing some more as to who was behind it. Next to that, was the mystery behind Noah’s sisters disappearance. Add to that Ava’s baggage, and you have one heck of book.
I was confused in the beginning of the book because it took a while to get to Collin. Maybe it’s because I started so far in the series. Other than that, I didn’t feel like I missed much at all starting on book 29. All in all a great read with good character development.
This was a great story, and another terrific addition to this series. I love getting to know all of the new members of the Phoenix chapter of the Skulls. I do feel like I need to point out that this is actually a double story, at least it seemed that way to me. In the beginning, it's more about Noah (another friend of the Skulls), Ava (Collin's sister), and Noah's sister. After most of their story is told is when Collin's story really begins, and the craziness continues. Overall, this was a fantastic book, and one that is certainly not to be missed. I'm really looking forward to reading about the other members of the club, and watching how much the club grows. I'd love to see how the previous characters from the other chapters are doing as well. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
I just want to say that this was a very intriguing book. It was very different from the rest but I've realized that the Phoenix Skulls are a little different too. I love it from that aspect. I like that they are definitely Skulls but different in their own right from the other chapters. Jace is a different Prez from either Dax and Wolf. Collin and Ciara getting together to know each other over time and through different ways of communication was inspiring. It lets others in those situations know that there is life beyond the despair. That every cloud really does have a silver lining if you look for it.
This is the 29th book in this phenomenal series, and this story is unique as there are 2 separate stories and characters. Collin is in a difficult position as he is following his families’ footsteps, when he just wants to join the Skulls. Noah is an ex detective turned PI who is obsessed with a serial killer. This is a well written story about two very different characters, as well as the sassy women who love them, which is filled with suspense, drama, angst, addiction, and love, which had me captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend for all readers.
The suspense in the story kept me glued through the whole story. ~Janise's Jivin' Book Blog.
All in all the story was good. I was disappointed when I got through half the book and still did not read much about Collin.The book is named Collin but majority of the story is in a different characters point of view. This was hard for me to get pass and for that I was not able to truly enjoy the story. I like the concept that the series will have stories on characters that are not in the club but are in relation to the club in some way.
Noah ,Collin , Ava and Ciara share their stories with us and take us on the ride of a lifetime. Noah is determined to catch the Valentine Killer. Collin needs to have the strength to love his life they way he wants to. Ava must voice her feelings and Ciara just needs peace and safety. These characters are fabulous. The storyline is one you don’t want to miss. Spectacular writing from the awesome author. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I can’t believe she is on book 29 of the series and they just keep getting better and better. When you pick up a book by this author you know you are getting something special. her characters are always well developed and the storyline is intriguing and suspenseful. This book kept me glued to my Kindle trying to figure out who the Valentine killer was. The dynamic between Noah, Collin, Ava and Ciara is superb! I can’t wait to see with this author takes us next!!
This book 29 was filled with drama and suspense. The beginning of the book moved slowly a d was not what I expected. Collin and Ciara had many obstacles to get over but were able to reach a reasonable solution. Noah and Ava were a riot at times. I had to read several passages a few times to remember the characters. I read just about everything Jessie has written. Good job!
Noah, Ciara, Collin and Ava all four lives tied together in more than one way and their stories are told in this book. I WILL WARN YOU NOW once you start reading this you will not stop until the last word is read and even then you will be thinking about these four people after you are done. Jessie Cooke has once again made me need the next book just to get my Skulls fix.
