I highly recommend this book for anyone on a difficult fertility journey. It's hilarious, relatable and practical. I also recommend listening to the podcast too.
I reached out to Rosanne for a trial coaching session because I was going through a difficult time on my fertility journey. After reading great reviews, I hoped for a fresh approach. Unfortunately, the tone of our interaction was the opposite of the support I was seeking. I was late to the call and had weak internet, which disrupted the flow of the conversation. However, during our brief interaction, the leading questioning felt more like scrutiny regarding my desire to grow my family.
I wrote an honest email expressing my disappointment in what I felt was a constructive manner, but her response was disparaging and defensive, including comments such as “that is entirely a projection of your own creation” and “we work with women who actually want to be helped, seek constructive and direct coaching out of their self-sabotaging patterns, take full responsibility for their results and choose empowerment over blame or victimhood and their undeniably awesome results prove that”. I was taken back that she felt able to take such strong views about me after having met me for under 30 minutes. This compelled me to comment, as women seek her guidance during vulnerable times. While this approach might work for some, it certainly did not resonate with me.
While I appreciate what the author was trying to do, I did struggle with some of the language used. I think perhaps I’m not the target audience. It’s very much an advertisement for her product which is…positive thinking, visualization, all that jazz really. It doesn’t offer much new information.
But if you are a person into meditative practices, journaling, and visualizations, then this is the book for you.
Really makes you think outside the box and it motivates to believe in yourself. Drs n science can only really on statistics, this book makes you look within and you definitely feel more empowered. Thank you Roseanna
This book looks at the mindset aspect of fertility, particularly for those of us with Type-A, Control Freak type personalities who struggle not to control everything. Sometimes it feels like Rosanne is in my head. I discovered this book while facing challenges in my own fertility journey, and there are many techniques in here I plan to take on. I think this book is also just a general reminder of the importance of the mind-body relationship - I was definitely aware of this, as I've already found benefits from investing in my mind during this journey, but it often seems completely dismissed by specialists. The only thing I didn't like was the second last chapter which felt like a bit of a plug for Rosanne’s coaching website. Nonetheless, I think this book is a great read, even if you're not facing challenges getting pregnant, as it shares a lot of interesting perspectives on truth and personal responsibility. The podcasts are also great - Rosanne’s enthusiasm is infectious.
This is a really good book. I believe in the power of positive thinking and I believe that it can help with all things, and especially with fertility I honestly thought it was going to be a bunch of hooey, but I found myself writing a lot of notes.
