The light had been snuffed out of Xander Caine’s world a long time ago, leaving him to suffer in darkness. After a tremendous loss, he closed himself off from anyone and everyone, content to live alone in the shadows. Then a woman blew into town with the force of a hurricane and shook everything up.
Sage Winthrop was looking to start over. She didn’t have a plan for what her new life would look like, but when she landed in Hope Valley, she knew it was the place she wanted to call home. Then one chance encounter outside of the best coffee shop in town set her world spinning.
Sage and Xander hated each other on sight. However, when they’re forced to work together, that hate eventually turns into something neither of them expected. Their attraction proves too strong to ignore. But when secrets from Sage’s past are revealed and her life is threatened, Xander has no choice but to let go of his demons and step out of the darkness in order to save the woman he loves.
Born and raised around Houston, Jessica is a self proclaimed caffeine addict, connoisseur of inexpensive wine, and the worst driver in the state of Texas. In addition to being all of these things, she’s first and foremost a wife and mom. Growing up, she shared her mom and grandmother’s love of reading. But where they leaned toward murder mysteries, Jessica was obsessed with all things romance. When she’s not nose deep in her next manuscript, you can usually find her with her kindle in hand.

I'm so bummed. I usually LOVE Jessica Prince stories, but snarky/bitchy heroines are my worst pet peeve and I HATED this heroine. Not only that, I hated the Hero too. He was a total prick for no reason at all. They hated each other on sight, for no reason and they were just constantly assholes to each other, again for no reason. I've got better things to do than read about 2 people I cannot stand.
Sage has to be the first h from this author that I really really loved! She was sassy, snarky, badass and knew her worth, I've got a crush on her and she absolutely saved this book for me, during the enemies period between her and Xander I cracked up.at her wit and her nicknames for Xander.
Xander had his issues from losses in his past that made him do a lot of pushing away, he was a wishy washy asshole most of the time and a possessive badass the rest of the time. My love for Sage overshadowed him so he was barely a blip on my radar
I must say thanks to the author for delivering a group of badasses who actually got shit done, so tired of supposed badasses who bad guys always outwit. These guys delivered!!
I loved Sage's dad and would've liked more of him, in this book even the secondary characters had me on cloud 9 they were all so good
So We meet Xander after he'd just finished having sex with his occasional hookup of two months, this was before he met Sage Xander feels guilt at his wife's death which was part of the reason he pushed Sage away so much During their friendship period Xander stood Sage up and she found him in the bar he'd usually go to hookup with a woman draped all over him. No idea if he'd planned to go further with her but considering Sage slapped him I was satisfied. At this point they were friends with things simmering just below the surface Sage's ex husband who had cheated on her with her mom tracked her down trying to find her mother and badly beat Sage, thankfully he got his just desserts Enemies(my favorite parts) to friends to lovers
With an awesome h, badguys who actually got what they deserved and a good host of secondary characters this book was a favorite for me.
***Bryce's book reeks of second chance with the manwhore H/doormat h combo, hopefully this author has another Sage in mind soon.
AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! I know I say this every damn time I finish a Jessica Prince story...BUT this is my very favorite of the series. Xander and Sage were an inferno of sexual tension, that I felt from the very beginning of the story until the end. The fight and sassiness in Sage was perfect for the broody mountain man known as Xander and I fucking LOVED IT!!! Alpha. Not just in the hero but the little spitfire heroine too. Devoured this one. Jessica prince has done it again. She brought all the feels to this story and delivered an emotional roller coaster that I never wanted to end. Bravo.
Grumpy Hero and snarky heroine, who takes no prisoners.
I recommend reading the series in order as previous couples feature and there is some retelling of previous couples stories so it could be spoilers. Very funny scenes. The heroine is no push over, she has a softer side but when crossed she isn't afraid to fight her corner. Great girl posse friend dynamic.
Dual POV.
For the safety gang.
In the second chapter the Hero has just had sex with one of his hookups. There is no detail but he's making it plain he doesn't do relationships. There are no intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine. But at one point after meeting the heroine and getting to know her a bit, before any thought of romance, she goes to a bar and there is a blonde plastered all over him.
HEA.
I was at bit conflicted about how to review this book, there was loads I loved but the Hero's actions did test my limits. I know we have the classic tortured Hero who is only into casual hookups as he has nothing to give. And he is a colossal **** to any decent woman. It a hard line for authors to cross or not when too much is too much, I found some of his behaviour too much and if I could have marked this 3 1/2 stars it would have better reflected my view on it.

Out Of The Darkness is the 6th book in the Hope Valley series by Jessica Prince Love each of the books in this series and wanted to read Xander’s book when I first started to read this series and it didn’t disappoint. Xander is a quiet and brooding man. He has a dark past he doesn’t talk about. He doesn’t smile and doesn’t socialize with his brothers of Alpha Omega. Sage moved to Hope Valley for a new start. She is the new receptionist at Alpha Omega. Their first encounter was instant hate. But Sage being a fighter, fought for them to become friends. Love Sage’s character so much. She was feisty, strong and as much as I love all the heroes in this series, Sage is my new favorite character. Xander..love him but also there were times when I didn’t like him much, even though I knew why he was like that and why he did it.
“When she was around, I could almost imagine what it would be like to live in a world that wasn’t full of darkness.”
Love to see Xander slowly getting out of the dark world he’s been living in and get pulled into Sage’s light. Love it and read it in one sitting. I don’t want this series to ever end. It’s so good.
It's hard not to sound like a broken record when it comes to books written by Jessica Prince but I can't help but say every time that Jessica always comes out with a book that I can easily devour in a matter of hours.
Her stories are always engaging and once I start I don't stop until I hit that last sentence, and then I'm inevitably wanting more. Out of Darkness is a bit love/hate mixed with some angst.
Xander is a definitely the moody silent type but man oh man does he have some protective caveman like instincts that make for a hot read. He's got some demons that's for sure and it really broke my heart for him once those are revealed. Sage is fiesty and fierce, she's got a bit of a stubborn side as well and I loved that.
I gotta say thinking about it now, this is probably my favourite series from Jessica and ones that I will reread over and over again. They kind of remind me of Kristen Ashley's Rock Chick series in a way.
If your a fan of Alpha Males, Strong Willed Heroines and that small town feel mixed with some romantic suspense that I definitely recommend this entire series.
2.5 stars. This was Kristen Ashley fan fic, as are most of JP's books, but this was extreme. The heroine was supposed to be tough and independent, but she came across as annoying and stupid. Who roots through someone's private history and then falls asleep holding the evidence? And the push/pull felt really manufactured.
Some of JP's books are pretty good. Some I dnf. This one was a trainwreck I had to finish to see how hard she tried to channel KA. A for effort. D for execution. Now I feel like I need to re-read a KA to get this out of my head.

When Sage arrives in Hope Valley for a fresh start after a very difficult marriage, she gets a job at Alpha Omega Security coming face to face with her scone stealing nemesis - Xander Caine.
This book involves a snarky heroine who takes no bullshit, a grumpy hero that ensures there is plenty of angst. There were times at the start where I just felt things were too OTT, and I disliked the push and pull happening due to Xander - he did test my patience at times.
The last half or so of the book was better for me, but honestly I don't see myself ever re-reading this.
When it comes to Sage's mum can I just say eww on so many levels, that women needed a piano to drop on her, as did Sage's ex-husband,
Lordy, I love a damn good enemies to lovers story, and that’s just what Out of the Darkness is! Sage and Xander ruffle each other’s feathers—in both good and bad ways, however their connection just can’t be denied!
I love their banter, their snark. Their inability to close off their feelings—even when they just don’t want to acknowledge the feelings are there. Simmering. About to boil over.
Especially when threatened. Then step back to watch the fireworks!
Sage and Xander have both been deeply hurt in their past relationships. Sage by her ex-husband, who just won’t take no for an answer, and Xander suffered a crippling loss that he’s still trying to work through.
But finding love again helps heal all wounds. Even those thought to be unforgivable offenses. I loved how Sage and Xander’s relationship bloomed and blossomed once they finally got out of their own way and let their hearts lead them. I can’t wait for more in this excellent Hope Valley series! ~ Missy, 5 stars
How is it possible that I love this series even more?
I've said before and I repeat: this is one of my favorite series ever. Everytime I hear of a new book, I get giddy and happy like a kid opening Christimas gifts.
I love the surroundings, the plots, I totally adore the characters and I with every book, I add each new character to a very special place in my heart.
I was intrigued my Xander from the first time I met him, I couldn't wait for his book, I just knew it would be fantastic. And he totally lived up to the promise.
Xander had so many demons from his past, he carried such a heavy baggage, I think from the whole series, at least so far, he was the darkest and most intense one among the Alpha Omega men. Always on edge, like a ticking bomb about to explode, he was the epitome of an überalpha in a glorious and hot Paul Bunyan package (Sage's words, not mine, but I can totally see it). Moody is an understatement. He was explosive, almost volatile, but also loyal to a fault, protective and even caring, despite being a half giant man, more like a sexy beast. But getting him out of the darkness wasn't an easy task.
That is why there was no other person better for the job than Sage. Resilient, free spirited, a rock, a fighter, a tiny biker daddy girl that knows her worth and wont accept anything less than the respect she deserves. She was phenomenal. She called Xander on his BS, totally went head to head with him, she stood her ground and she was strong enough to yell at him if necessary, but she was even stronger to speak softly, be vulnerable and love him with all she has.
They were pure fire together. Their chemistry was off the charts. And I loved how their relationship developed. An enemies to friends to lovers story through and through. There were so many moments I laughed. And there were so many other moments that Sage made me so pround, dang that woman was the perfect amount of sweet and strong. There were also moments when I wanted to hug Xander until he would allow himself to love. But there were times I just wanted to slap him.
They were just so perfectly balanced. It was so intense and their personalities were so full and complete and flawed and real. I loved that they made mistakes. I loved that apologized. I loved that they were real and smart and stupid and in some level, somehow you could relate to them.
The secondary characters and their interactions were so colorful and brought so much light and life to the story. This author is definitely a story teller.
Once I started the book, I just couldn't put it down. This book moved me and left me wanting more. Again: one of my favorite series!
Oh GOD... when I will gonna learn that every next book in this series could be only better than the previous one ??? I love every single book about Hope Valley... For now, I see that when I'm writting review, about another Jessica's Prince baby, I can only repeat myself with saying - Wow!!! Now this is my favorite book in the whole series.
And this time, another time after revisiting one of my fave imgainary places, my head is spinning (AGAIN), my heart beats faster than the speed of light (AGAIN), my breath is somewhere, for sure, but I can't find it right now (AGAIN). I'm not ready to say goodbye.. AGAIN. Coming back to Hope Valley is nothing lees than amazing journey and coming back ... to the family.
Xander and Sage ARE AMAZING. From the first paiges their fire burned my fingers - I can't lie .... gah... what a chemistry, tension.... and love. Xander and Sage are broken, both of them left behind hurtfull memories , very emotional ones. BUT their story just flow by in such a wonderful way - it was one of this books that You can read fast, lots of things happening, every twist, up and down You can feel in the whole body, but You can't stop reading even for one short moment.
After finnishing my adventure with my fave folks, I'm feeling really greedy for more and another heartbreak writtinen by this author's hands.
An automatic one click author for me. She never fails to deliver in a story or characters who you can’t help but fall into head first.
The steam is a given every time and it gets hotter in each new book.
The drama and suspense is page turning and I love that. I also love there’s no cheating. For me me that’s a huge turn off and something I can’t and won’t read.
The topics touched on in each story are relatable and written with care.
Sage was a feisty and badass lead and she complimented Xander. The secondary characters as always are a hoot! I loved catching up with previous couples and seen where there at.
A series you can invest in emotionally and still come out smiling.
I squinted through the beginning when he was fucking that bird... fair enough, he hadn't met Sage. But... my one rule with a 'romance'... the male lead does not fuck, or entertain the idea of fucking anyone who isn't the other lead. He would've totally have fucked the blonde in the bar if Sage hadn't appeared. All it does is leave a nasty taste in my mouth.
Xander was a dick. Sage should've gone back to Redemption. I liked Judge & Bear.
Sage and Xander's book. I liked these two. Xander has a dark history and Sage doesn't take his crap. Xander has survived a lot of loss, loss he blames himself for and its caused him to be closed off even from those he is friends with. Sage knows loss, her biker dad in jail. Her mom a loser grifter. Her ex-husband a real piece of crap. These two together are funny in an "I am gonna be your friend Xavier whether you like it or not type of way."
As these two spend time together they grow closer in a two steps forward one step back kind of way. Then just as things look like they may work out, her past comes back to roost and throws everything into disarray. Now he is on the war path to save her and protect her but most of all get revenge for her.
I love this series all these books are simple romance with a slight twist but all are good reads.
3.5 “shortcake” stars. Predictable but yet enjoyable read. Both MCs were such an unexpected event. The H’s and his demons drew you to him but his chemistry with the h had me holding on to every page. I like this series and the men and women that encompass these chains of books🥰.
If you'd asked me a few days ago if Jessica Prince could write a book that would knock Sweet Sunshine, my absolute favorite book by her out of the top spot I would have laughed in your face. Chloe and Derrick's story grabbed hold of that spot the first time I read it, and kept that spot after every re-read, which there have been many. Since that first read Jessica has released a slew of amazing reads, but after each one Chloe and Derrick still held tightly to the top spot. That all ended about two chapters into this book. It didn't take long for me to be totally sunk by this storyline, and it's exceptional line up of characters.
We met Xander during Gypsy's book. He grabbed my attention, and peaked my intrigue. I mean who doesn't love a tall, dark, and handsome alpha male who's obviously harboring some deep rooted demons. Xander is one of those guys, the ones that give the best kind of sweet. The kind that make your teeth ache, and your heart swoon. But he's also that guy who fights dirty when the fear takes hold. He doesn't hold his emotional punches, and when he lands a blow it devastates. I rode all his emotional ups, and downs right along with him. His fears made my heart seize, his smiles felt like sunlight beaming directly down on me. He is a hero, no doubt about that, but that doesn't mean he didn't need saving.
I want to be Sage Winthrop when I grow up. I could go on, and on about the beauty of this character. She is by far one of the best characters I have EVER read. Characters like Sage are few, and far between. She was the kind of woman you wished would stumble into your hometown, and instill herself as your best friend. Sage is fiercely loyal to those she loves, taking their backs even when they don't think they need it. She's got a spine of steel, and isn't afraid to let it show. She knows who she is, and what makes her happy, then goes about getting it.
This storyline took you on an emotional roller coaster ride from start to finish. It had me giggling out loud, sighing in longing, gut clenching in pain, and cheeks heating in anger. I've had other books hit me with emotions, but none as intensely as this book. I will tell you straight up you need to lock yourself in your room with the lights off, and noise cancelling headphones on. Take chocolate, booze, and tissues. You'll use them all, multiple times, while reading Sage and Xander's beautiful story.
Q: How do you know when a book totally has you hooked?
A: When you know you only have 10 mins to read before you have to deal with life and still pull out your phone figuring getting in one...maybe two...chapters was better than nothing because you really NEED to see what will happen next (even when you know you’ll all kinds of pouty in the inside until you can crack that book open again.)
That was me with this book, sneaking in any moment I could because I was all in. From the first page, I was done and simply devoured this baby and was quite unhappy when there were no more words to read.
Two pages in and Sage hit #girlcrush status. Just BOOM. Done. No if ands or buts about it. She was everything. Sweet, brash, snarky...real. This woman owned all that she was and celebrated it to the fullest. Xander. UGH. This man. He can be the biggest AlphaAHole ever - and dear lord was the urge to clock him a few times strong - but beneath the armor he is never without is a man who made my heart melt.
Their journey to their HEA was so much fun. Yes, it was also heartbreaking, frustrating and smexy as all get out...but it was fun. The chemistry between them was nuclear from the first time they collided and it only grew from there. I loved how Sage went toe to toe with Xander from the start and gave him her truth no matter what and how Xander truly saw her and loved all that she was. The bumps in the road are numerous, and I did quite a bit of growling, but I am all kinds of happy with how everything worked out for them.
This book was simply all kinds of goodness and gave me everything I love and then some. The some obviously came in the form of the crazy but lovable characters that inhabit the Hope Valley world. I love that we got to catch up with everyone in one way or another, got to meet a few newbies that I’m hoping we’ll see more of and a lot of Roxanne who I want to be when I grow up. And as for the next book in the series? After that little tease, I cannot wait to get my hands on it!
Note: This book can be read as a stand-alone, but it would be a lot better, and simply more fun, if you read them in order.

After finishing each book in the Hope Valley series I always end with a sigh on how good it was. Out of the Darkness, book 6 was no exception! I feel it everytime, but Sage and Xander is my new favorite couple in this series. They both have a heartbreaking past but the difference was how they reacted to it. Xander is still in so much pain and he internalizes it. He doesn’t talk about his past and basically keeps to himself. This makes him broody, gruff and can be vicious with his words and he does not do relationships. On the flip side is Sage, she courageously left a horrible situation and starting a new life in Hope Valley. She is a biker princess and takes no crap from anyone anymore. I loved her spirit and her bad a$$ery! So one can imagine how combustible their first meet could be. And it was! On the surface it can be seen as instant hate but the attraction they felt for each other was strong. Xander was such a jerk and I seriously would have loved to smack him over the head. Sage’s responses were awesome and definitely wanted to give her a high-five lol. The banter between these two and the names they give each other was fantastic and it continues on when they learn they would be working in the same office.
I loved Sage and Xander’s story so much. The chemistry is intense and scorching. It is totally cheesy to say but to see the light of Sage start to over power Xander’s darkness was so heart-warming. Their relationship is definitely not easy and the separation between the two and the cause of it was gut wrenching but the way they came back together and the groveling made it all worth it. Like in pretty much all the previous books in this series, the heroine is put through the wringer but their strength and the love of their men is truly awe inspiring. Another great 5-star read!
And on a side note, if you happen to be a subscriber of this author’s newsletter, the next book she is releasing is a spin off from one of the characters we meet in this book. I love love love the Hope Valley series but I seriously can not wait for this one!
Out of the Darkness is book six in the Hope Valley series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but there are recurring characters so I would suggest you read in order.
Sage Winthrop shows up in Hope Valley after leaving a really bad situation looking to start over. She's a biker princess and is ready to get back to her original self after changing who she was for a man who didn't deserve her. She's determined to not let that happen again. She finds a job as the new administrative assistant at Alpha Omega Investigations and is ready to settle in. Xander Caine, one of the P.I.'s at Alpha Omega, has a horrible past and is barely allowing himself to live. He doesn't like crowds or people in general, really, and absolutely does not like the fact that Sage makes him feel things he doesn't want to feel.
Ok, first of all, I LOVED Sage. She knew who she was and she OWNED it. If she cared about you, she showed it in a way you would feel that. And when she decided she wanted to befriend the giant, grumpy Xander, he didn't stand a chance. Xander just broke my heart. He had SO much pain that he carried around like it was his penance. He was really harsh with Sage at times, and I was so mad at him, but I got it and more importantly, Sage got it. "Something in my gut told me this man needed someone in his corner."
These two were a perfect match and I loved watching them fight and love their way out of the darkness together. A lot of crazy had to go down to wake Xander up to what he had, and I loved seeing him finally realize what was worth fighting for. This book was filled with all our favorites from the previous books--it's like visiting old friends every time I read a Hope Valley novel. This book grabbed me from the first page and I finished it in one sitting. I love this series and it just keeps getting better! If you like big, broody alpha males, sassy heroines, and lots of action, you'll love this enemies-to-friends-to-lovers novel. I highly recommend it!
It seems Bryce's story is next and good grief, I am so ready for that one!
Well, color me surprised because I was quite convinced nothing could steal the thunder or my affection from The Ladies of Girl Talk and their delicious men. Nothing. I almost would have staked my children on it. Well, I am glad that I didn't because Xander and Sage just stole the top spot. This book was everything that I have come to love from this author and then some. It was heartfelt, the banter was delicious, and sweet lawd, the characters were everything.
This has been a fantastic series of interconnected standalones. but this book took the series to a whole new level. The baggage that Xander has just made me want to fight for him just like Sage did. He needed friends, and more importantly, he needed Sage. Just as Sage needed him. There were such cute lines in this book. Hell, cute isn't even the word I want to use. The lines were perfect and not at all cliche. The author wrote everything in such a way that I cannot even imagine the characters saying it any other way. It felt as if the characters were jumping out of the pages themselves and that made me love them even more. Sage is one of my favorite characters that this author has ever written, which says a lot considering how much I FLOVE all the Ladies of the aforementioned Girl Talk.
There is such a depth to these characters and their stories. I was right to be intrigued by Xander because he was so wonderful and just needed someone to help him see that. I am not even going to challenge myself and say that the author cannot get any better because I know she will. I cannot wait to see what is next in this fresh and always entertaining town called Hope Valley. I highly recommend not only this series but any book by this author. She is always a favorite for a reason.
Oh my goodness! I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning because I had to finish this book. I read it in a single day. And by the time I finally went to sleep, my heart had been stomped upon and my eyes were red and puffy from crying. I hate to say it, only because I'd really been rooting for Cord and Rory, but I think Xander and Sage are my favorite Hope Valley couple yet!
Xander is the alphaest of alpha males. He's a big, burly, surly, beast of a man. The jabs that he and Sage exchange from the get-go are freakin hilarious. Paul Bunyan and Shortcake had me in stitches with their hatefest. And you know when a couple bickers like that, it's going to be amazing when they finally give in.
Surprisingly, as much as I laughed while reading this book, was full-blown sobbing at parts, too. Because underneath that big, burly, surly, beast is a man so broken and haunted by the demons of his past that he lives in a self-inflicted world of misery. And when he lets his darkness come between him and Sage, I was a mess. Like with the other books in this series, there's an incident where Sage is in danger and Xander gets to play knight in black leather armor. And it's perfect and beautiful and made me cry all over again.
Jessica Prince has done an amazing job with every single book in this series. While they are all standalones, I love how interconnected and intertwined and close this group of friends are, and the support they give one another. And though Sage is a newcomer to Hope Valley, she's welcomed to the group as one of their own.
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
Out Of The Darkness is the 6th book in the Hope Valley series by Jessica Prince. Each book in this series can be read as a standalone but I recommend that you read them all because there are reoccurring characters that are in each book and the books are just that amazing! Sage and Xander's story - Wow!!!! It is just fantabulous. That's not a word that I use loosely. Their journey towards each other was an emotional rollercoaster ride. It was a seesaw of ups and downs, push/pull, rawness yet I loved every moment of it. They each were broken souls who fit each other like gloves. Sage is beautiful and full of sass, attitude and outrageous personality which fits right in. Her character was comedy gold because I was laughing at every turn, she was just that funny. I loved her zest and her sassy sweet interactions with Xander. As for Xander, he was conflicted, dark, raw and brooding. He is handsome but suffered a loss. He is not coping well and he runs into Sage and their love journey is bourne. It's full of feels, steam, push/pull, heartache, ups/downs, conflict, humor, angst, twists, friendships, betrayal, family, romance and love. I loved Xander and Sage's story!!! I can't wait for book 7 next!!!
Wow, wow, wow! Ever since Xander was introduced in the Hope Valley world I have been hoping that not only we can get to know this surly man, but maybe, just maybe, he can get his own story and HEA. I had no idea how everything was going to go down, but I have to say that I am SO Freaking happy with Out of the Darkness. I think that Sage and Xander's story is beautiful and sorrowful at the same time. So much hope, but so much darkness to get through first.
These two characters have been through so freaking much that their journey when they find each other is not easy, in fact it is freaking hard. Both of them are stubborn, and Xander is definitely PMSing through a good portion of the book, but his heart is beautiful!
All in all if you like the other Hope Valley books it is going to be an added bonus to get this one. If you have not read them but like a good Contemporary Romance that has a splash of danger in it-- check out Out of the Darkness! I give it 4.5 outta 5!
PS: Thank you to Jessica and Love Affair w/Fiction for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly! <3
I have thoroughly enjoyed this Hope Valley series, and this book has managed to worm its way into being one of my absolute favorites. I definitely had a love-hate thing going with this one, though. I loved Sage right from the start, but Xander, well, I wanted to smack him, and I took great satisfaction when Sage did so. But like Sage, I also fell in love with him, and his pain broke my heart. It took the strongest type of woman to make him want to truly live again, and although the road there is a rough one, it’s worth the ride. This is not a light, breezy beach read. Or a cozy snuggle-by-the-fire story. It’s a gritty, real, unputdownable journey from darkness to light—one with a kick-ass heroine, broody hero, and heart-wrenching yet satisfying HEA.
A sincere thank you to the author for providing an ARC for review.
What a fantastic instalment from Hope Valley. Out of the Darkeness is Xander and Sage's story and I loved every second. It's a story that had me feeling lots of different emotions about two broken souls that once they came together completed each other.
When Sage arrives in Hope Valley for a fresh start after a very difficult marriage, she gets a job at Alpha Omega Security having no idea that the very sexy but very moody computer geek she's about to encounter is about to send her life into a complete tail spin. Xander is ex military and a computer wiz but his past has left him in a very dark place when he sets eyes on Sage she soon awakens his heart but will he once again put it on the line and let Sage become the light in his darkness before it's to late.
As always Jessica Prince has written a fantastic story that will have you hooked so be sure to grab your copy!
Xander still lives with the guilts and regrets of his past on a daily basis. He is determined to punish himself by not allowing anyone close and that worked for him until Sage comes into his life.
Sage has recently moved to town to put some distance between her and her past. She is a great friend and a strong woman who doesn’t take crap from anyone. When she meets Xander rather than be put off by his surly behavior she decides to kill him with kindness.
Full of heart, humor and heat there is no denying that they belong together and the only thing standing in their way is Xander.
