You can run, but you can’t hide from me, mama. The cat and mouse game is what I do for a living: I chase criminals and apprehend them. But you ain’t no criminal, Candy. The only thing you’re guilty of is giving me a taste and expecting it to be enough. I can help you, if you’ll let me. I can clear this mess up – but for the love of God, don’t try and run from me, because one dip in your sensual pool just ain’t enough for this cowboy. I need more. I need it all.
Candy
You say you came to meet up with me and then you reveal the truth: that you’re a bounty hunter and you know my darkest secret. Of course, I’m going to bolt. It doesn’t matter that your rugged cowboy looks and firm hand completely undo me. Thanks to my traumatic past, I can’t trust you! Don’t look for me, Trigger, and definitely don’t come to back to Atlanta for me. You took one dip and I survived; but if you double dip, there’s no way I’ll be able to resist you.
The lunchtime chronicles have all been quick reads that pack a "filling" punch. Double Dipped is a nice addition to the collection. Trigger is a bounty hunty and cowboy, though we really only see his cowboy skills in this short read. I liked that the author stayed true to his speech within the dialogue (you'll understand if you read this book). He knew what he wanted and went after it, her. Trigger met Candy on the N2U app and decided he wanted more, in person. When they meet they are drawn to each other even more. Trigger watches Candy work a pole and becomes territorial the more he watches her perform. He decides that he's going to do whatever it takes to have her, and not just for a few days either. Candy has some major baggage that she needs to unload and trusting is not on the menu. Whether she likes it or not, Trigger will do anything to get more Candy.
The book is written in dual pov which was easy to follow. There were a couple of things that weren't fully addressed (I was curious about Elecktra and Colt). I understood the need for the low profile, but I had a hard time believing that Candy would choose to engage in what she was doing and not have issues within herself. This book was entertaining and held my attention until the end.
I received an ARC copy from BookSprout so editing/grammar issues are not highlighted here because the version I read may not have been the final edit for this book. My above review is my own, freely given. 3 stars
The ending seemed open-ended, like there should have been more. Plus, the ending didn't circle back to the prologue, so I had questions. Overall, I liked the story and enjoyed getting to know more about Trigger since we met him in Colton's book. I didn't love the heroine's profession, nor some of her actions, or his! Recommended: Read it!
Is Candy a stripper and a hooker? That was never made clear. How did a trigger know from their online chats that he would have to pay money to have sex with her? So many missing details. Actually nothing about this story was clear. Who the hell is Savvy? Am I supposed to know? Cause I don’t.
Trigger and Candy connect via a dating app-N2U. Trigger decides that he wants to meet Candy in person and pursues his wish. Upon seeing and meeting Candy the meeting is anything but simple. Both parties are catching feelings for each other and wishing the meeting had taken place anywhere but in the club where Candy works. Trigger can see that candy needs help and in his efforts to offer said support he makes all the wrong moves. This results in a very spooked Candy. The question is will Candy forgive Trigger and let him support her or will her past and her issues if mistrust ruin what could be a great new beginning for both of them?
I feel this story had the potential to be more, especially with the other characters who the couple interact with. But it is a short short story for a reason.

The book grabbed my attention from the beginning and held it to the end. Trigger proved to the end that he was most definitely an alpha male and believed in going after what he wanted even though some of the methods chosen were unorthodox. Candy let it be known that she was drawn to Trigger not only by his appearance but his actions caught her attention. She proved to be a strong and driven woman in spite of what life threw her way. She did not suffer males who wanted to dominate her just because. She fought back the only way she knew how and what she suffered in her past she was unwilling to let someone do it again. Self preservation was her friend and rightly so. But in the end Trigger proved he was in it to win her love.
Trigger knew who Candy was from the beginning but he was so enamored by her, he just had to have her. In order to be free with her, he had to fix the mess she found herself end. Trigg did everything to protect and help Candy, from breaking and entering, using an ex and kidnapping and not to mention, spend a bunch of money. He was determined to help her. He had to gain her trust to get her to believe his sincerity of his feelings. She was already hooked on his double-dipping, but she fell in love with him and his home.
This was a sweet easy read story that had a twist at the end. Trigg's boss Colt was heartbroken since his college days and never got over his lady love, but as fate would it be found her. I can see a story with him too. There is a reason why his heart was broken and curious minds want to read about it.
Candy has enrolled to N2U website to look for her special someone. Trigger is that one. He visits often to her place of business and drops a few thousand at a time. Candy is holding secrets and so is Trigger. The insatiable appetite they have for each other will either blow in their face or make them show their goodies. Trigger wants his Candy but is lust clouded from his bottom line or has the rules changed? Short. Steamy.

Candy meets Trigger online. They build up a connection before he travels to meet her at her place of business. Sparks flying is an understatement - whew! But before things get too carried away secrets are revealed that cause Candy not to trust Trigger. They part ways but he promises to do whatever it takes to get her back and give her the life she deserves. Insta-feels with this one! Surprising amount of emotion packed into this short read - very entertaining!

Meet Trigger and Candy. Two characters that hook up once and then find themselves wanting more. As this story unwinds we learn more about each of these characters. Candy has secrets and when she finds out that Trigger is a bounty hunter the game begins. This is a fast paced story that is very steamy and a very good read. Enjoy!

A passionate and exciting read! It is quick, engaging, well written, steamy, and emotionally deep. There is drama, intrigue, ups and downs, and humour guaranteed to hold your interest from start to finish. The characters are likeable, strong, and stubborn but great together; the chemistry between them is hot. Definitely recommended!

I surprisingly really like this duet and that's saying something for me with this series. Had it not been for the nasty sex dialogue I would have given it a five ⭐ rating. I'm not into raunch. But I love Candy's survivor spirit and Triggs' determination. And dang if I didn't read "Served" first! From now on I'm going to read these in order.😁 Yep, I love this vibrant couple and I think you will also.
Good book but way too short. I wanted to know what happened with Candy and Trigger, what was the real story. What happens with Savvy. So many questions but no answers. But I would still recommend it to read it ties with Colt and Savvy story , just leaves you hanging and wanting more.
When Trigger saw Candy, it was probably love at first sight. He shelled out a lot of money just to spend a couple of days with her. He knew she was a wanted woman and he was a bounty hunter but none of that matters to him cause he planned to get her the best lawyer, his ex. ❤❤
I enjoyed this book, but the continuity between it and the previous book Served seemed to be off. Trigger was a great character and his high handed methods for getting things done could have been disastrous.
candy has meet trigger online. and when they decide to meet insta chemistry and then obstacles are in their way. This was a great read and I really like it . highly recommend

The only way I knew this book was about a black woman is the first few pages. I questioned a few times if I was actually reading BWWM book. Just changing the color of the woman doesn't make it believable.
Wow, wow!!! The Lunchtime Chronicles ROCK.!!!! Meet Candy and Trigger and boy they have one hell of a story to tell you. Not to mention they will leave you hot and bothered. mhmm!!
Trigger was a man on a mission and that mission was to win Candy. Great story about a man handling his business and doing what is needed to protect, love and provide security to his woman.
I enjoyed reading Double Dipped. Trigger and Candy had an interesting story. They had that instant love connection especially Trigger and their chemistry was hot. I love reading the Lunchtime Chronicles series.
Candy and Triggers story was cute. Glad he was able to help her out of her situation. Also glad Candy didn't have to knock ole gurl Reba out in the process.
Talk about instant passion! It’s here in this little power punch of a story. They fall for each other online and he decides to visit Atlanta to see her. Felt so real and quite the happy ending.
this man here, he found a love outside of what he usually craved. and in the process, brought a couple back together again. he was a wild little freak. a sexy freaky cowboy. what girl doesn't want one of those.
This is a quick hot read, Trigger and Candy made an instant connection online and face to face, immediate sparks fly. Trigger is relentless and Candy isn't a pushover.
I gave this book 5 star's because it was exciting from the beginning to the end I love Candy's character and I love Trigger character they were ment for each other
