There are storytellers and there are storytellers that seem able to create stories in any genre and this is where Uvi Poznansky excels!

OVERDOSE has all of the ingredients for a riveting suspense that reaches beyond cookie-cutter tales as we are caught up in a part medical, part computer techno tale that includes a dark side to both. Imagine being comatose, at the mercy of those trained to heal and do no harm, only to discover your privacy has been violated in a most vile, yet brilliant way by a man who was worshipped and remembered by many, a man who has deceived the world. How could a conscientious doctor act with no conscience?

Ash must decide if her life is worth exposing the monster for who and what he truly is, just as she must find a way to free herself from his clutches and stay alive…

Once again, Uvi Poznansky had me from page one forward, invested in her story, believing I was there and witnessing each scene, each event and feeling what her characters felt. Without needing to get resort to gore and over-the-top gut-churning detail, this author has further cemented herself on my must-read list!

Brilliant characters, twists that are unseen and cleverly written, I highly recommend this book and the Ash Suspense Thrillers with a Touch of Romance series!

I received a complimentary copy from Uvi Poznansky. This is my honest and voluntary review.

This third in a stunning series had me glued to the page. Ash has been out of her coma for a few months when dizziness and headaches require her to re-visit her neurosurgeon, Dr. Patel. He is an unnerving man whose history includes a 10-years-ago mysterious medical mission to India, and the recent suicide of his wife. Ash wants to know if her symptoms result from Patel’s treatment, and agrees to dine with him to find out more. Something alarming happens at the end of their “date,” and Ash immediately texts her boyfriend, Michael. The two investigate to get to the truth about Patel in a medical thriller that has a great plot with some terrific twists.

The first two in this series, “Coma Confidential" and "Virtually Lace" kept me up late reading, and “Overdose,” even more so. Ash is a strong, smart woman who is also likeable and often quite humorous in her observations. From the first page I was engrossed, and the pace never lagged. Highly recommended, five stars!

‘What I need is clarity’

Uvi Poznansky wears a coat of many colors. Originally from Israel where she studied Architecture and Town Planning then moving to the US where she studied Computer Science and became an expert in Software Engineering, Poznansky managed to combine the design elements of two studies into unique formats. And she has accomplished the same with the other side of her brain - making visual her ideas (she is an accomplished painter, drawer, and sculptor who has enjoyed exhibitions both in Israel and in California, her present base) and making words in poetry and in short stories and children's books. APART FROM LOVE: Still Life with Memories is an adult romance in five parts, and now the series – the Ash Suspense Thrillers - combines the thriller genre with romance. The entries to date - COMA CONFIDENTIAL, VIRTUALLY LACE and now OVERDOSE.

From the first lines of this fine novel the mood and tone are set – ‘Coming back to life is a tough undertaking. I’m in over my head. Michael says I should put what happened out of my mind. Now that I’ve recovered, there’s no point in trying to bring back into memory my stay in the ER, only to dwell on it to no end. He does his best to distract me from my agonizing thoughts, not only by sending me chocolate, wine, and flowers but also by sweeping me off my feet, straight into his fantasy world…First and foremost, I must contend with my own nightmares…’

Uvi’s skill at both visual and written art is outstanding, but her history of diversity does not end there. A synopsis of this series Book 3 follows: ‘Months after recovering from coma, Ash discovers that the man who performed her brain surgery has a questionable medical experience and a dark past, starting with his medical mission in India ten years ago and ending just recently, with his wife’s suicide. Should Ash expose him, at the risk of becoming vulnerable to his revenge? In an attempt to learn more, Ash goes on a date with him. When the waitress drops a pink cellphone into her hand, she is hit by a bullet. On the cellphone are his wife’s last words. “Perhaps you have the urge to shut me off, or at least to ignore what I’m about to say. But listen you must, because even if you don’t believe it, you’re already much too close to danger… Neil is my undoing. Make sure he isn’t yours.”

Beauty of prose bound together with a sensitive thriller make this very special new series from a very fine writer. Even the cover art bespeaks Uvi’s artistic gifts. As she says, ‘While sitting in the hospital’s waiting room (waiting fort my loved one) I started to design the cover. You may wonder: what inspired the composition? It is a wonderful paining by Goya. It depicts his own doctor taking good care of him at the time he fell sick. By contrast, my OVERDOSE cover hints at something insidious, mainly by the use of blue colors and by keeping the doctor’s face masked.’ Yet another aspect of Uvi’s talent! Highly recommended.

One of my favorite authors!

Uvi Poznansky is a USA TODAY bestselling, award-winning author, poet and artist. OVERDOSE is book 3 in the Ash Suspense Thrillers with a Dash of Romance. Not surprisingly, Poznansky weaves another fantastic medical thriller with intriguing twists and turns that will easily captivate the reader’s attention from the opening page. The author paints a gripping story in a very vivid and convincing way. In addition, the characters are drawn with great credibility and integrity.

The book description gives a sneak preview: ‘Months after recovering from coma, Ash discovers that the man who performed her brain surgery has a questionable medical experience and a dark past, starting with his medical mission in India ten years ago and ending just recently, with his wife’s suicide.

Now, if that’s not enough to get your curiosity juices flowing, I don’t know what will. But if you want to find out what happens, you’ll just have to turn the pages for yourself! However, I will say it was well worth the read. I’ve read this author several times and I must say I was very impressed yet again. She delivers every time.

I enjoyed the story, character development, and dialogue. There were plenty of plot twists that I didn’t see coming and that added to the book’s mystique. When I stopped reading to work, I found myself wondering what happened in the book, and replaying parts of the novel in my head to see if I could figure more out. It has been a while since I enjoyed a book this much. It’s a first-class thriller with perfect pacing. Not much is as it appears here, which is just the way fans of mystery, thriller and suspense will want it!

This was a fascinating and captivating read that had me immersed from the beginning. The story flowed from scene to scene with ease, and as always, the author shows exceptional ability when it comes to storytelling. There are plenty of attention-grabbing moments in this page turner that will take the reader on a truly mesmerizing journey!

I’ll be looking forward to reading more from this author in the future. Highly recommended and a well-deserved five stars from me.

Overdose is a medical suspense that keeps the reader turning the page right from the start.

Ash is a woman who recently came out of coma and is trying to return to her normal life. But she is plagued by debilitating headaches and is certain the doctor who treated her in the hospital is responsible.

Convinced Dr. Patel perpetrated some form of medical malpractice, she sets out to prove what no one else believes. She sets up a meeting with the doctor under the ruse of a date, she attempts to press the doctor for information. The doctor is forced to cut the meeting short, and immediately, it becomes very clear that something dark and dangerous is taking place.

While this is the third book in a series, it is the only book I have read in the series (although that is something I do plan to change). That said, while I haven't read the other books, Ms. Poznansky did a wonderful job of bringing in a new reader by providing enough backstory to help the reader understand what was happening while not bogging down the story and slowing it down. Right from the first chapter, you want to keep turning the page to know what happens next. And in between all the action and danger, there is banter between Ash and her boyfriend, Michael, gives the reader a chance to catch their breath before launching the reader right back into the all-too-possible danger that lurks around the corner.

I look forward to other great reads by this author!

A Terrific Read Perfect For Halloween

Uvi Poznansky's newest release kept me glued to my seat. Overdose, lured me in on page one then further enticed me with each page turn, immersing me into a gripping medical thriller––and looking over my shoulder as if I was only one step away from the villain. The third book in Poznansky's captivating series, this story won’t leave readers lost if they read the story first. But should they read these stories in order, they'll be rewarded and stunned at how this USA Today Bestselling Author weaves past characters into this new thrilling saga.

The writer's first person present style draws the reader into the heroine's mind as she unravels each clue. Tempted to scream out 'no, don't go there' as if Ash should heed my warning, I rode a rollercoaster with twists and turns all the way to the last page.

I read Overdose in one day, but nothing is rushed. Each richly drawn character plays a crucial part as Ash uncovers the who, why, when, and how of this delicious mystery. And the ending had me wondering how the heroine could possibly be saved in time––and by whom.

Poznansky pulls in current events and high technology in this fast-paced thriller, which gives the story even more appeal. Overdose will snag your interest, lure you in and won't let go. I look forward to the next book in the series, Ash Suspense Thrillers With A Dash of Romance. I highly recommend Overdose––especially on a cold, spooky night.

Overdose is the third volume in the “Ash Suspense Thrillers with a Dash of Romance” series. I’ve enjoyed all three books and must say this one was just as good if not even better than the others. I’ve always enjoyed Ms. Poznansky’s writing. It is smooth, lyrical, and original.

Ash is a young college girl to whom terrible things happen, but she always comes through with guts and courage to survive, thrive, and get even with the villains. In this edition, Ash becomes a victim of a very powerful player, whose name I’ve withheld so as not to spoil the story for you.

The characters created by Ms. Poznansky are vivid and truly enjoyable. I especially love the dialog and relationship between Ash and her mother, otherwise known as “Ma.” We didn’t see much of Browney (her beloved dog) in this episode, but I’m sure he’ll be back for more in the future. Love the dog!

After surviving a harrowing ordeal in the last book, where she barely survived a vicious attack and ensuing coma, Ash now suffers from mysterious and frequent headaches with other bizarre symptoms. I encourage you to buy the book and discover the nefarious plot behind her symptoms that has far-reaching, thrilling consequences.

I read both the eBook and listened to the new audiobook, which I found extremely well done. The narrator was a pleasure to listen to.

Well done!

Highly recommended by Aaron Paul Lazar.

Overdose (Ash Suspense Thrillers with a Dash of Romance Book 3)
By Uvi Poznansky. 5 Stars*****

What a fascinating medical thriller!!

I've only read a couple of this authors books but every time I do I'm impressed with her writing. There is always such depth to the characters along with the plot of the story thats being told.

Ash's story is intense, intriquing, and downright scary a time or two if you put yourself in Ash's shoes. There is also the romantic side that pulls you in and causes those oohs and ahs for Ash and Michael.

A book thats full of twists and turns you wont see coming.

I have voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This story picks up pretty much where Coma Confidential left off, with Ash recovering from her coma but still suffering from unexplained headaches and feeling that something just isn't right. As her investigations progress, it becomes clear that there's A LOT that isn't right including murder, deceit and identity theft.
This book is exactly the kind of complex psycho-drama I've come to expect of Uvi Poznansky. The characters are full blown and full of contradictions and there are more plot twists than switchbacks on an Tibetan mountain side.
I loved this story and hope to see a lot more of Ash's adventures.

The author has written not only a medical thriller, but a romantic suspense. After Ash wakes from a coma, she finds the surgeon is not all he claims. Readers who like different genres will enjoy diving into this thriller. The character of Ash is believable and makes you wonder what you would do in her shoes,

Okay but not too interesting story. I kept wondering, "Why wouldn't so-and-so do such-and-such?". And to throw in a gratuitous recipe just seemed out of place and amateurish.

Ash’s Efforts To Unfold The Truth Behind The Mysterious Dr. Patel Make For A Quick And Quirky Read!

This is book three of the Ash Suspense Thrillers with a Dash of Romance series.

Ashley Winters, twenty-two, had needed time alone to regroup after surviving her brutal rape and the coma that nearly left her defenseless against her would-be killer. Over winter break from the University of California Irvine, where she is working on her master’s degree, she decided on impulse to rent a dilapidated beach house in Clearwater, near her father’s Florida home with his new wife, Heather. Michael, her boyfriend and a brilliant software developer, missed her but was supportive and understanding. Her time in Florida hadn’t proven to be restful, however, as she nearly ended up the next victim of serial killer. Michael, as always, knew what to do to. Ash returned safely home to her new apartment near the university. But months later, she still isn’t herself.

She is plagued by headaches and dizziness, and Ashley finds herself having a hard time even going to class. She hasn’t complained about it, but has instead withdrawn once again. What she has come to suspect sounds crazy in her own mind, so she needs proof to either rule out her suspicions or prove her theory. Michael senses it and wants to help, but she pushes him away yet again. In part because she doesn’t want to tell him that she has a date.

Dr. Patel had treated Ash while she was in her coma, but something didn’t sit quite right in her vague memories. Some time spent researching him online brings on further questions. Ashley is determined to find out if Dr. Patel is connected to her headaches, but her investigation leads her into danger once again when she suddenly comes into possession of a certain pink cell phone. Karishma, Susan, and Martha are connected to the cell phone and the information on it. But how they all fit into the pieces of the puzzle remains to be seen.

For those following the series, Ash’s mother and father both play a role in this book. Her golden retriever, Browny, proves useful. And Michael remains the steady, brilliant, rational, and devoted boyfriend he has always been. His technical expertise never fails, no matter what trouble Ashley finds herself in. As usual, Ashley questions herself and her choices throughout this quirky story. Her methods are often reckless, so she exposes herself to danger, but she once again finds a happy ending.

Ash’s efforts to unfold the truth behind the mysterious Dr. Patel make for a quick and quirky read. She once again shows incredible courage and fortitude in the face of danger. The story is well-written. It is plot-driven. I rate this book 4.5 stars.

An Engaging, Chilling Read

“Overdose,” the third book in the Ash Suspense Thrillers, by Uvi Poznansky is a captivating medical thriller. After Ash suffered a life-threatening accident, she underwent brain surgery. Now she’s experiencing reoccurring severe headaches causing her question the impressive credentials of her surgeon, Dr. Neil Patel.

Ash discovers there is no record of Patel’s graduation from his claimed medical school. When Patel, whose bio says he’s married, asks her out on a date, she accepts, hoping to learn more about his past that might substantiate her suspicion that he’s a fraud. During dinner, he tells her his wife recently past. Their date is cut short when he receives an emergency call from the hospital. Ash stays to eat, but receives news that her father is in the ER.

As she prepares to leave the restaurant for the ER, a waitress gives her a pink cellphone, saying Patel’s wife wanted his girlfriend to have it, but won’t divulge any more information. Ash refuses to accept it. The waitress follows Ash and drops it in her lap as the waitress is shot.

Patel attends to her father in the ER. Her father’s condition is improving until he has his follow-up visit with Patel and then his severe headaches begin.

Michael, Ash’s computer whiz boyfriend, changes the pink cellphone’s GPS location so it can’t be tracked. Ash and Michael survey the phone’s contents, finding a recorded video made by Patel’s deceased wife. In it, she says she’ll be overdosed before anyone sees the video and warns whoever is watching to look out for Patel. The video closes with “Neil is my undoing. Make sure he isn’t yours.”

As Ash delves into Patel’s questionable past, another waitress who knew Patel’s wife tells her, “Someone is listening to every word you say, every word you hear.” Ash believes it’s Patel. It’s chilling where she finds the concealed listening device. After it’s removed, Ash redoubles her efforts to uncover Patel’s well-hidden past, exposing a dark secret. Can she find the evidence to prove Patel is a fraud or, like his dead wife, will Neil also be her undoing?

“Overdose” is an amazing medical thriller, full of mystery, suspense, and tightly woven plots with a nice touch of romance. The intriguing storyline kept me turning the pages from the start to the finish. I highly recommend this engaging read.

Overdose by Uvi Poznansky solidified my opinion of this author. It is the second book I have read by the novelist and she is now one of my favorite thriller writers. This time the book grabbed my attention with the first sentence, then tightened its grip until the last page where she writes: The End.

The story centers around a psychotic neurosurgeon, Doctor Patel, whose questionable medical expertise will raise the hairs on the back of your neck. Within the story, we find out the doctor has planted a tracking device under Ash’s ear during a medical procedure he performed on her. With the help of her boyfriend, Michael, they remove the device, and Patel’s reaction is part of the fun of this medical thriller. No spoilers. You’ll have to read it to find out what happens.

I am generally not a fan of first-person narratives. But Ms. Poznansky’s writing style is helping me change my mind. Her first-person perspective of our heroine is well written and gives us insight into Ash’s thoughts and fears.

I highly recommend this novel. It is a solid five-star thriller.

This is a fast-paced easy-to-read book. Ash finds herself in a bad situation with an evil doctor manipulating her and wanting to totally control her. She fights off what he has done to her and goes after the truth about him. She meets others who have suffered at his hands and tries to help them. Even his deceased wife assists her from the grave with a message she has left on a cell phone.

Ash's parents are still the difficult pair as they have always been, but seem to be warming up to each other after her dad's new wife dies unexpectedly. Ash has moved back to California and tried to resume her old life, but the doctor that treated her for her head injury that put her on a coma has other plans.

Ash's boyfriend Michael plays an important role in this story, showing his love for her and some of his talents that end up saving the day. Reading this story is sometimes tense, but worth it in the end.

Overdose is the third book in the Ash Suspense Series. There are plenty of suspense, action, adventure, and danger for Ash as she discovers something surprising about the doctor who treated her during her coma.

This is a thriller of a series that kept me in awe as I listened to the audiobook. This is more than a medical mystery. It has a back story of the love interest between Ash and her boyfriend, Michael, who is always ready to support her whenever and wherever needed. She puts herself in danger when she confronts her doctor, hoping against all odds that Michael will be backing her up as always. At the same time she is dealing with her father who has some medical issues of his own and a mother who is possessive and constantly keeping tabs on her.

The author did a wonderful job of creating an intriguing protagonist and story line that was gripping and unforgettable.

After brain surgery kept Ash in a coma for a while, her recovery has her dealing with headaches. She seeks out the doctor who performed the surgery and in an effort to learn more about his skills, she starts to believe he might not be who he says he is. From here, the suspense builds as Ash tried to discover the history of the man who she gets warnings about from the most unlikely sources. This is a medical thriller and the suspense builds with every page. Miss Poznansky weaves multi-layer plots that involve medical and cyber expertise that could keep the reader wondering what the next twist will uncover. This combines cyber terrorism with the medical thriller like no other I have read before. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Months after recovering from coma, Ash discovers that the man who performed her brain surgery has questionable medical experience and a dark past. Dr. Patel is trouble! Should she expose him, at the risk of becoming vulnerable to his revenge? Yes my dear readers, this is another medical type thriller to add to the series. Can I add that poor Ash has just stepped in dog poo again. Poor girl constantly stumbles onto and into things that she shouldn't. Ash now puts on her snooping hat to take a deep dive into this surgeon. If it can not get worse, Ash has headaches and some other strange symptoms.
Weaving a tight plot again, the author draws everyone in to root for the underdog. The other part I loved was the computer part of the book. Very interesting read.

The great doctor is full of himself and he has a lot of thinly controlled rage. Still Ash trusted his medical judgement to treat her. She had been in a serious medical condition in the previous book and only a little detail of that is provided in this book. So there's. a bit of background info missing, but it didn't keep me from enjoying this book. Ash senses that there's something off about Dr. Patel, and she's determined to find out what it is.

As she collects clues, she's more sure that something is wrong. Well written and I enjoyed it. The narrator was great.

Suspense

An interesting tale of future possibilities and avarice. The tale is expertly woven with suspense throughout. Ash has awoken from a coma but has severe headaches and a vague sense of something wrong with her followup visit with Dr. Patel. When she looks into his background she finds out there was no one with that name attending the university he supposedly attended. Her investigation into him puts on a voyage of intrigue and mystery, with danger around every corner, a mysterious phone and murder.

Well this one was pretty middle of the road. I listened to it on Audible. It really didn't hold my attention when I started it. It was better as I got caught up in the story. There was just so much that was unrealistic, I realize it's fiction, but none the less, unrealistic. The story just didn't grab me and then I was easily distracted from listening to the story, so several parts of the book I had to listen to a couple times.

I’ve long been a fan of Ms Poznansky and I was confident I’d find this book as satisfying as her earlier books i have read. It didn’t disappoint. The third book has great flow as the first two.
Finding out that the surgeon is not all he claims to be, was first a shock to her. The surgeon, he had operated on her in the first book, Coma. Now she really has to find the truth. And finding it out, there was much more to it, then she ever could imagen. I recommend the book to anyone.

Maybe I should have read 1 & 2 first 😕

To be fair, maybe I would have enjoyed this book more if I had read Ash 1 & 2. A lot of things happen in this book with no clear reason or believable explanation why. It didn't flow smoothly enough to get me invested enough to care about the characters. The events weren't believable.

This is a fantastic medical mystery! So mysterious. I stayed up all night listening! I couldn't sleep until it was over. The narrator WAS the voice of Ash! Her narration was spot on. I felt her fear. Her doubt. Her questions. Her frustration. Her humor. Her pain.
