Beautiful and insightful book covering the latest editions of roses provided by David Austin Roses. A nice bit of back story and since reading this, it has lead me to look at previous editions of their rose books to see what else I can discover.
This is garden porn at its best. Simple descriptions of some of the most beautiful roses and tons of pictures. If you can't smell roses while reading this book, then you aren't a gardener. Plus my list of must-have roses is now two pages long.
I cannot tell you how much I love David Austin roses! My sister gave me a Lady of Shalott last spring, and I absolutely love it. If I had a half-acre lot to grow roses on, it would not be enough room for all the ones I would like to grow. I highly recommend this beautifully-produced book to help anyone who wants to have gorgeous, fragrant, old-timey roses in their yard or garden.
Beautiful, might make a good coffee table book for a conversation piece, but most of this info is on their sales website and in the catalog that they send in the mail. I was hoping/looking for rose tips and tricks, something I haven't read from them already.
This is for the handbook of roses from David Austin. I thought it was a pleasant book, with many photos of English roses. But I am not sure it gives it much more than a catalogue, so I just think it didn't do what I expected. But the photos were wonderful!
