"Where's Pops?" is a short story collection about Dads-the good, the bad, and the rest in-between. Regardless of where these men land on the spectrum of fatherhood, they each face challenges that every parent can relate to-relationship tests, financial hardships, and cooking dinner on time. Max Evans is currently donating proceeds to the Most Valuable Pops Award, a scholarship fund he created for a deserving father at Compton College where he teaches. www.WheresPop.com
Where’s pops Was an excellent book. The short story is focused on different fathers and how they raise their kids differently. I feel like the book brought a lot of awareness to certain things and traits that fathers provide it to their children.. For example there were good and bad fathers and most were realistic and you could apply them to have fathers actually raise their children. The book was good and I enjoyed reading it. My Feedback. Where’s pops gives you different perspectives of how fathers are with their kids. Even though some fathers weren’t always with their children. Some fathers played a really big role in their kids life. This book gives you different views on fathers. It gives you two sides one with good dads and one with bad dads. It’s gives you a page on statistics on what life looks like with children that have a father figure and what it looks like when then don’t. It even gives you stats on what children do with their life’s with and without a father/father figure in their life. The book was an amazing read i really would recommend this book.
After reading the book, I was surprised that I was enjoyed it because I wouldn’t be reading a lot of books but these short stories were interesting that it caught my attention. One that stood out to me was, “Little Miss Sunshine” because I loved the characters Victor and Tom but also the story line that could relate to other people in the same financial problem. My favorite line will be when Tom got an email saying about the reopen of the job because I loved how it gave hope to him again. Overall, I will recommend it to other readers because it was interesting to read even though they are short it is fun to think about the ending of them and also has different stories of fathers.
I truly enjoyed reading this book about difffrent fathers, mostly because the author put so much emotion into it. Specifically the short story “Welcome to Burbville” Evans let the readers in on what’s it’s like to live in low income areas. While this story was a bit more sad the author includes other stories some with a lot of imagination and others with humor, from one scale to the other he covers it all! Most definitely recommend you read this book you’ll be in for a rolller coaster of emotions.
This is a good book. The Author describe different stories about good and bad fathers. It is very helpful to recognize and understand the parenting practices between good and bad. My favorite story is the last one, because we can understand how the love and the good example touch our love ones. I used to read more books in Spanish because is my first language, but for me the experience to read this book in English was amazing. I learn a lot and I also practice my English reading and pronouncing some new words.
After reading this book that are different short stories about fathers. The one that stood out the most is ""Me & My Homey" and that the main character Mike dreams up this fantasy world on the Simpsons especially that of Homer Simpson. In addition, Mike tries to understand his three daughters just like his mother did while raising only sons. There is a line that stand out in which he state," Now I know how Ma felt". Overall, this book Where's Pops? is so good that the reader would keep on reading the rest of the short stories about different fathers.
I honestly thought that this book had many interesting short stories about father figures and the impact they have one their children's lives. My favorite story was "Little Miss Sunshine". I found that this story was emotional because the dads were in a financial crisis but they really anted to adopt. They did end up adopting which was amazing because the dads made the process of adopting actually happen. The fatherhood theme is that a dad can make anything happen when they set their minds to it which can honestly apply to anyone but in this case to dads since they are often looked down upon.
This short story collection is about fathers and the different situations they are faced with. One of the things I liked about this book was the emotion it made me feel, some storied were funny and some storied made me angry. My favorite short story is "Stars New Sun" which is about a father and son's relationship after the son's mother's passing. The was this short story was written was very interesting. Overall I highly recommend this book we all have fathers and some are great and some are not great, its a book everyone can relate to.
I have read this book and it was so entertaining. I loved the story that was called, "Welcome to Burbville". Welcome to Burbville is about how a single dad is raising a little girl named Sara, and he works a lot of the time and she is mostly always in daycare because of that. He tries to block out the bad things that are happening in her neighborhood. This story shows how even though he is a single father he can still manage to provide for his daughter and still be there in his daughters life.
Where’s pops? Is a good books for those who are or about to become fathers. The book mainly focuses on the two types of father figures out there and shows what roles they play in their children’s life. One of my favorite stories in the book was the Sweetest swisher because when the main character fell in love with a co worker he could not couldn’t continue the relationship with out telling her about his son first. It’s a good story I really recommend it.
"Wheres Pops?" allows readers to take a dive into the mind of a diverse set of fathers. One of the strongest aspects of the book is that it does not show all the good of fatherhood or all the bad, but a mix between both. After reading this book it has given me a different outlook on fatherhood as well as lessons I can apply to my own journey through fatherhood. Aside from the discussion of fatherhood, it is an overall entertaining book that will be hard to put down once you pick it up.
Where's pops is an interesting book that navigates through the lives of many parents throughout many short stories. It portrays them in different scenarios, both a positive and negative. Either way, it makes you reflect and empathize with it's characters, displaying how some of them bear reassembles to daily life; and at the end of the day, teaches lessons of what a father should (or shouldn't) be.
Definitely adding this to the list of books I will be reading again. I really enjoyed this book because it shed some light on different types of fathers, good and bad, and the decisions they make when it comes to their offspring. It gives you a better understanding of what single fathers, or just simply fathers in general, may go through or may feel. And I'm sure there are many who can even relate to some of these stories or scenarios.
This novel filled with short stories that won't disappoint. I usually don't read but this book had me coming back for more. My favorite story was "Welcome to Burbeville" since it reminded me of my mother. This story will have the reader wanting to keep on reading and not stop until they complete it.

This book containing several short stories is very interesting, since it deals with a variety of different fathers, from walkouts to adoptive parents. The book deals with things like financial problems and being stuck in a bad neighborhood. The book is and emotional roller coaster dealing with life and death and problems many face in a day to day basis.
Evans is a Mastermind when it comes to English and literature. In the book "Where's Pops", Professors Evans introduce us to multiple men that play a father role in some aspect. The astonishing creation passes wonder as well as insight in these father's minds. Mini stories combined will send your mind to a world usually untold a father's conscious. Evans is brilliant with this novel.

Where’s Pops? by Max Evans is a very interesting book because it shows different stories about dads and their children. My favorite character is Tom from the story “Little Miss Sunshines” because he loves his daughter Hazel and is always present in her life. I really recommend reading this book, since each story is captivating.
This is a great book with clutching dramatic tales of fatherly life. My personal favorite story of the collection was "No Clue" a story about a father's wild night out and handling fatherly responsibilities the next day. The book itself reminds me a lot of what I see in South Central L.A, and the overall theme of fatherhood shows the troubling sides of fatherhood some may not see or know about.
This book is an absolutely must read! My favorite from the book is the story, "No Clue", this story has all kinds of surprises and twist. I encourage you to get the book and you will not want to put it down, totally worth every penny spent.

The book Where's Pop's? is an amazing book focuses on so many different fathers all unique. My favorite was Pop's Ribs a story about a father who simply wanted ribs with his family. So man fathers so amazing a good book indeed.
What I like about this book is that it helped me learn about the different tough experiences some people have with a father figure. I liked how it shows stories that have contrasting moods to show how strong the emotions can be expressed with the characters.
In this book you will read many stories that represent how many father figures go through many stages in their life’s with their families. One of the stories “Pops Ribs” shows an example of this by showing the many moments Pops has with his kids.
