Lola Ramon has cultivated a life most would dream of – or judge – depending on who is doing the looking. A world traveler and artist, she never stays in one place for too long, or with one man. A fateful meeting with a psychic in Italy reveals the cracks in her happy exterior and sends her to Siren Island determined to take a break from her wandering lifestyle. There, she hopes to finally find answers to a question that’s always enchanted her.
Gage Rivelle waved goodbye to the corporate world from the deck of his beautiful new sailboat years ago and has happily settled into a leisurely life leading sailing tours on Siren Island. Used to women of all ages throwing themselves at him, Gage has developed a discerning eye for what he’s looking for in a life partner. When Lola steps off the plane, Gage knows instantly he’s found the one.
Fiercely independent and determined to explore the mermaid mythology of Siren Island, Lola has promised herself a break from whirlwind relationships. Admittedly attracted to Gage, she pushes him away, wanting to take this time to focus on herself.
In a battle of wills, Gage must prove to Lola that he isn’t the island playboy she thinks he is, but instead could be the one man who will stick by her side forever.

This is the second book in the series and just as good as the first. I love Siren Island and the opportunities that it provides for Lola as she slowly begins to find herself and her future. Romance, mermaids and magic and a lovely surprise twist at the end.
I loved this second book in The Siren Island Series. I love the way Tricia weaves magick into her stories. While Mermaids might be a little bit of a magical detour from her Mystic Cove and Isle of Destiny Series she still brings the same depth to her characters that we have come to love. With the same feisty brand of characters that she gave us in the Althea Rose series as well. The best of both worlds.
Lola is searching for something, restless she has a tarot card reading and ends up heading to Siren Island. She’s not looking for love, she’s looking to find herself. Along comes Gage and his gaggle of adoring women, he might be man candy, but Lola’s put herself on a diet. To bad Gage isn’t listening to her.
Fascinated by the stories of the Mermaids of Siren Island Lola expands her quest to find out all she can about them, could they possibly be real? Her inner voice is telling her it’s possible.
Can a woman who can’t stay in one place and a man who’s found his place in the world find their way to each other and live happily ever after? You’ll have to read the story to find out.
Meh. Chemistry was DEFINITELY there. Proud of Tricia on that one. Ending was better than the 1st one. If Cynthia’s trick ass hoe is the next main character in the book I’m throwing hands.
Fun and whimsical! Like most of her books, there’s always elements that aren’t very believable, but still so much fun. I really liked the main characters here. It did kind of bug me that the main characters from the previous book were absent for most of this one, but otherwise I really enjoyed the story. Four stars.
A superb second book. I look forward to the third! A must add to your summer (anytime) reading list. The main character goes through a find herself twist along with a secondary love story that adds oh so nicely to the plot.
This series is consistently everything I need it to be. A simple romance with a touch of magic and reality. The characters continue to have solid backgrounds that aren't cringey cookie cutter carve outs in common romances. The tempo is excellent. Tricia O'Malley doesn't waste any time or emotion on creating human enemies in these books, which I find refreshing. This particular book was advanced over the first of the series simply because there was less "damsel in distress" narrative, and the male character came to meet Lola more-so in equity. I only dock a star because I've noticed some phrases and descriptors being overly repetitive (all curls are riotous, women ethereal, and some sassy dialogue entirely recycled). It isn't at a Nora Roberts copy and paste level though, just something I notice because I'm reading one book a day. If you need something light and also reflective to read, these are great options.
Book 2 is just as magickal and inspiring as the first!! Lola, Sam’s best friend, travels to Siren Island after visiting a psychic in Italy. Lola has always felt things differently and feels drawn to Siren Island, which is why she had pushed Sam to go. After seeing Sam’s self-discovery and success on the island, Lola follows and finds herself at Laughing Mermaid. As she works on finding mermaids, what they can teach her, and does heaps of self-reflection, she falls for Gage, a Siren Island local not too different from herself. Though there’s plenty of foreshadowing that makes the “reveal” obvious, O’Malley’s descriptions and immersive writing style make it perfect regardless! Siren Island is one of the best series I’ve read and I learn something about myself as I dive into each character’s journey (pun intended because these books took me back to my mermaid phase)! O’Malley definitely infused her writing magick into this one. Also, I loved seeing Sam and Lucas again after their trip!
Lola Ramon travels the world buying art for customers and creating beautiful photos of her own. She never stays in one place long and has no lastings relationships. However, this lifestyle is getting old and stale. She feels restless and bored. So, while visiting her mother in Italy, they go and see a psychic. The psychic leads her to take a break from her life and take a look t what she wants. So she goes to Siren Island, where her best friend Sam is now living. She is hoping to find the answers to what she is searching for. She meets Gage Rivelle, who has moved to the Island after corporate burnout and now lives a simpler lifestyle. He spots Lola coming off the plane and feels that she is the one for him. Lola and Gage go out exploring the mermaid myths of the island and start to get to know each other. Fun magical romance!
Lola is a woman who lives life, doesn’t have a real home base, travels the world doing jobs with her various talents but she has been feeling restless. After going to a psychic with her mother she heads to Siren Island to figure herself out and see her best friend Sam if she is on island. While there she meets Gage and she is immediately drawn to him but tries to ignore the feelings to focus on herself. Gage is a island transplant having left a corporate job that he burned out from and is now a tour boat Captain. He immediately is attracted to Lola and wants to find out more about the pretty lady. This is a very good, fast reading book. I liked Lola and Gage. Both characters grew as Lola figures out what she wants to do and Gage learns to give her space and let her figure things out. I would definitely read more books by this author and more books in the series.
Lola is a fiercely independent woman who makes her living as a photographer and purchasing art pieces for other people. When she begins to feel restless she heads to Siren Island to make some decisions. Welcomed at The Laughing Mermaid she soon meets Gage, the handsome man she noticed at the airport when she came onto the island. This is just the beginning of the Magic’s she finds on the island. I love the stories of Siren Island and the Laughing Mermaid. The people who come here find not only love but a family and home. Now that Samantha and Lola have had their adventure I am looking forward to the next book in the series. A perfect read on a cold winter day.
When Lola is drawn to Siren Island she is in for some life changing experiences that are beyond her wildest dreams! For the first time in her life she is putting down roots in a community where those who love her are. They are there cheering her on and waiting for her to know they are there for her if and when she needs them. Her independent self is scared to death of this and keeps pushing them away! This includes a wonderful man and newfound friends that are her surrogate family! A great read!
This was really good story and I enjoyed it immensely. The characters Lola and Gage were adorable. I loved her independence and drive to succeed on her own merit. I loved his strength and willingness to give her what she needed. I also loved their willingness to believe in something as magical as mermaids. Irma and her daughters were back and that was wonderful. I adored them in the first book and they didn't disappoint in this one. The actual story was sweet and magical and romantic. A delightful way to spend afternoon.
I would truly love to go to the Siren Island! The only way to get there is reading one of Tricia'si Siren Island books which are all so wonderful. I don't know about anyone else but they leave me with such a warm and happy feeling, having shared in the joy and happiness of the characters in each book. I am looking forward so eagerly to the next one!! Thank you so very much, Miss Tricia!!!
I felt the plot was a little slow moving at the beginning, in fact, I even went back to be sure I had the right book. I liked the change Gage made from previous appearances to his character in this story. Maybe there just wasn’t enough fantasy and sex in the first half of the book. Everything came together with a big splash at the end. Glad I stuck with it.
I love the fact that even strong successful women can be variable. Lola is my favorite character so far! Searching for where she fit in. Knowing something was missing. She liked her life and lived her life fully but love and sense of community and family were missing. Going on her journey truly touched my heart. Someday I hope I see a mermaid 🧜♀️ too! Tricia thank you for these beautiful written stories. On to my next one.
For all who yearned for more stories of the 'little .mermaid' your wish had been granted.
Tricia O'Mally has woven the most beautiful and picturesque tales. You can feel the warm breezes, hear the crashing waves and perhaps even catch a glimpse of a mermaid's fin. The best news is ............ There are more awaiting !
I have read most of Tricia's books, they are all wonderful. But this one with Lola actually being a mermaid, is my favorite so far. It renews your faith in true love and brings you to tears. Life has been difficult lately, and your story has made me feel better. Lola's friends are exactly what we all need in life. I can't wait to read more of your stories! Thank you for writing them, truly, thank you.
I loved the first book, but Loved this one even more. The Magic of Mermaids & Water, Caves, Beach, & Love. The storyline is fantastically amazing, & I can't wait to start the next book. Thank you Tricia for taking Your Inner Mermaid & sharing it with others. The description of everything you write, allows you to See everything you are reading as clearly as if you were watching a movie. Thank you again 😇
Good read from Tricia O'Malley. I do so enjoy her characters and the plot of this book. Her female characters are strong with some shortcomings, that for they have to work through themselves, like trust issues. Her make characters are romantic and strong enough to step aside to help her through her plight. Really like her books, and can't wait to read the next installment of this magical series.
Another great read! These stories pull you in and I love a good romance! 💕 makes my heart happy ❤️🥰 Lola and gage are a great pair and I love the instant attraction but the stern talking to she gives herself through the book! A fierce woman who is independent and searching for something. Great story with great characters and I cannot recommend enough if you are a hopeless romantic like me xx
If I didn’t believe in magic before I do now! Tricia O’Malley has this perfect way of drawing in her readers to make them feel as if they are the characters themselves. I am hooked. I am excited to read ALL her books knowing so much waits for me with each turn of a page. She is my new go to author and I know there’s so many other journeys for me to take through her books.
Good writing. Some good characters. Our heroin was definitely a poster child for therapy. All that said I just read the sneak peak at our next book, which I do plan to read, but you can already tell were going to be dealing with women from the bottom of the cracker jacks box.
This is the second book I've read in this series! Oh my gosh, it's a must read for all that hope to believe in fun, play, dreams and Magic You'll love the characters and the wonderful scenes undersea and above.Beautifully constructed by this fabulous author! Thank you for sharing this gift with me!! Off to start#3 Happy Reading
I love this series. In fact I love all of your books that I have read. The Mystic Cove series, The Isle of Destiny series, Ms. Bitch, and this series. I love the characters, the locations, and of course the magic of it all. Can't hardly put them down.. i have some Irish in my blood and I love to read books lime these. Keep them coming!!
Just finished the second book, but I love this series. Such whimsy! I love how the author weaves her stories with strong women who are learning to enjoy life and become their best selves. Of course the hot guys don't hurt either. Wonderful story of finding herself and her perfect help mate. A must read.
So far have only read two of the Siren Island series and totally enjoyed both. I really like tropical island paradise stories and this series is all that. Mermaids make it all the more fun! Even knowing where the story is heading doesn't detract from it. Plus a couple surprises woven into each story makes it so fun to read. Looking forward to Book 3!
It’s a ROMCOM about MERMAIDS. What’s not to love?! It’s a bit silly but mostly just very excellent mermaid fun.
SPOILERS
UPDATE: having read another two books from the series, I’ve decided that it’s really annoying me that there’s no explanation about Lola’s heritage, or how she’s randomly a mermaid and knows nothing about it. I NEED MORE INFO.
