Being on the run leaves no time for distractions. Unless your new boss is alpha, Scottish, and built
Autumn has taken her baby nephew and is fleeing for their lives. Almost reaching the safety of a small wintery Washington State town, she narrowly avoids a collision as her car spins out on ice. The other driver is a huge mountain man who speaks only in glares. The instant attraction is like nothing she has experienced, but she isn't hanging around, no matter the enticement to stay.
Bull will never trust again, certainly not a single mother with secrets. But he can't stop the draw. Autumn's sass drives him to distraction, her body has him burning up. Working side by side with her at his bar every day is enough to awaken his protective side once again.
But the past will always catch up with you, no matter how far you run or who you fall in love with on the way.
Come the Fall features one hot alpha male and one strong heroine, and is a novella in the Marry the Scot world. Autumn features in Hero but this novella is entirely standalone.

Drama, small-town Romance, characters from Scotland so you get some Scottish word porn! Good characters, sexy times, hea's and epilogue make this short read an enjoyable novella! Jolie Vines is a brilliant Author! Free with K.U.
Good Lord!! Just when I thought Jolie Vines couldn’t make me love her Highlanders any more, along comes Bull and completely bowls me over. He’s a rugged, growth, SCOTTISH alpha with a heart of pure gold. That cover portrays him perfectly (and I can’t stop staring at it!!)
COME THE FALL is a novella in the “Marry the Scot” series and is the story of Autumn and Bull. It is sweet yet incredibly steamy; the chemistry between these two is INSANE!! I know I’ve said this plenty of times, but if modern-day Highlanders are your thing then you really need to pick up these books...then you can thank me later!
4-4.5🌟stars 💕🌶🔥 I read this as part of an anthology. Come the Fall is an offshoot of Jolie Vines' Marry the Scot series that I love but you do not have to read the series to enjoy this novella. It's well-written with likable characters and, though the sexual tension between the hero and heroine starts from their first perilous encounter, there's emotional connection as well. I just wish it had been a full-length novel and, the limitations of putting a full-featured story into a short package are the main reason I could not give it a higher rating.😕
👥 The British heroine, Autumn, was a minor character in Hero, the third romance in the Marry the Scot series. Contrite about her antics in the earlier story, Autumn is now totally focused on the welfare of her toddler nephew Benjamin. She's moved on from Scotland to small-town forested Washington State and who should she meet and fall for but a Scot! Well, Bull is half Scot, but he's definitely got the accent and the attitude of an alpha Scot.
🔥 The steamy scenes in this story don't hold back and do pack a punch, but the other pieces of the plot, including Bull's disappointments with a previous, conniving partner and the mysterious moves of Autumn's locked up sister, made it a multi-dimensional read on the fringes of their romance. I also liked the references to the area's connection to the setting for Stephanie Meyer's iconic vampire Twilight series.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the story; this is my voluntary and honest review.
This is such a cute story 🥰 This book is set between Hero and Pictures This. And there is a reason why it's after Hero. Even though none of the MCs is a McRae. And they didn't appear either. It's not even set in Scotland 😎 And still it's part of the series. Why? It has to do with Gordain McRae (Hero). It took me a while because I read Hero 3 months ago and yes, I was a little stupid 🙈
I loved this instant love between Bull and Autumn. Even though it took them a few days to go for it... They are just so cute with each other. And generally Bull is such a cutie 🥰 I felt so sorry for him when the story with his son came out 🥺 I really hated his ex-girlfriend 🤬 It's really so 💔
And Autumn? Her family really s*cks! At least she has Benjamin. And Lena.
I don't really know what to say more than I really loved this book. I'm no huge fan of novellas, but this is 🩷🩷🩷
Though I didn’t like Autumn when we first met her in Hero, this story was great! Autumn and Bull start their relationship with a crash (hah) but slowly things start changing with heated looks and flirty words. They both have so much baggage, it seems impossible that they’ll end up happily together, but they definitely get there. I have absolutely no complaints about this great, short addition to the Marry The Scott series
Fun and sexy side story about Autumn, the "bad guy" from Hero (Book 3). Autumn absconds to rural Washington state to escape dangers back in Scotland.
The story's hero, Bull, is a delicious grumpy giant. His gruff, bearded exterior barely disguises that he's a cinnamon roll of the sweetest and gooeyist order. And he has a Scottish accent. So totally YUM.
I think if I were at all familiar with the Twilight franchise, I would have found lots of Easter eggs in the story (like the other baby being named "Stephi"), since the books and their setting are mentioned several times. But even knowing very little about Bella & Co, I don't think I missed anything vital.
A woman I disliked from an earlier book was somehow redeemed in this one.
A great couple who were totally deserving of each other, after the horrible unfortunate circumstances they had both overcome. Together they will teach each other that are worthy of love.
This heartwarming romance is set just before Christmas, and introduces us to a wonderful small town where everyone takes care of each other. Autumn and Bull have such a strong connection, and I simply adored them both right from the start. There’s quite the mystery with Autumn’s family situation and Bull’s past, there’s some sadness and loss on the way to their HEA, and it’s all capped off by a beautiful epilogue.
What a fantastic book to finish of this set! I’m new to this author, I went to read one of her books, realised it was part of a series and found which one she started with. I’m so glad I did! I’ve just finished the first set and now going to the next generation of the family! I can’t wait to hear what happens to them!! I’ll be keeping a close eye on this fabulous author for up and coming books!!

Autumn was not very likeable to me in Hero (book 3 of Mary the Scot Series) but she redeemed herself in this novela x
Autumn goes out of her way to protect her nephew. After meeting Bull, the chemistry and sexual tension is there from the start, but they don’t act on it straight away.
She ends up working to make money and Bumps into Bull again and eventually the tension is too much for them.
Bull is a Scottish Alpha who falls hard for Autumn and goes full on protector mode x
Okay, so I usually go for those big, chunky books, but Come the Fall by Jolie Vines? This novella blew me away! It was my first short read by her, and it packed a serious punch. I seriously wondered if it would feel incomplete or rushed, but it was neither of those things, thankfully. Just a steamy, fast-paced romance with an alpha male and a strong heroine and it checked all the boxes for me. Autumn is on the run with her baby nephew, and she almost crashes right into Bull, a gruff mountain of a man. Instant, undeniable chemistry sparks between them, but Autumn has more important things to worry about than a hot guy, even if he makes her insides melt. Bull swore off trusting anyone, especially single moms with secrets, but he just can't resist Autumn's sass. Working with her at his bar ignites a protective instinct he thought was long gone. The tension between them practically burns off the pages. Like it was scorching every time they were near each other. But the past always catches up. Autumn's is hot on her heels, adding a fantastic layer of romantic suspense that keeps you hooked. Seriously, if you love strong heroines, possessive alpha males, and a good dose of suspense, you need to read Come the Fall. It's a standalone novella in the "Marry the Scot" world, and trust me, you'll be wanting to "marry the Scot" yourself after this! I am again finding myself looking across the ocean and wondering if there’s any available in my age range 😀
Unexpectedly Running Into Her Forever Family - I really enjoyed reading this book. This was a slow build love story about two people with painful pasts, brought together by fate. Their initial interaction was antagonistic, however, after spending time together in a professional and personal capacity, they soon realise their out of this world chemistry can’t be ignored. They finally open up to each other, which allows them to embark on a journey filled with happiness, support and wild unbridled pleasure, that leads to a happily ever after. It was a really fantastic book to read, that held my attention from beginning until the end. This is my first time reading a Jolie Vines book and I can definitely say I will be reading more of her books in the future.
When I first opened this book, I had zero interest in Autumn. She's a minor side character from book 3 (Gordain's book) and while they main characters in that one may have forgiven her, I really did not care what happened to her at all after what she did.
That said, I'm in deep and trust Jo Vines to deliver and once again, she DELIVERED.
Jo Vines took me from not caring about a character to absolutely adoring her to no end.
This one is short and sweet, but it's a page turner! I ate this whole thing in one sitting and regret nothing.
Autumn and Bull are absolutely perfect. Do not skip this one if you're reading this series! It's a fun, steamy, and sweet novella in the Marry The Scot series and you absolutely should read it.
I’ve read several books starting with Ben Grahams. Then I was curious about Leo and Viola and then going back to Gordain and Ella. It was then I realized Autumn was connected to Ben somehow. So I reread the bodyguard book and I got it. This is called backwards reading ! I found this book which filled in the missing pieces. She’s feisty, emotionally wounded but needing love. She loves her nephew Benjamin and will do anything to protect him. Bull is a good generous man who will was bamboozled by a devious woman . It’s a quick concise well written story that ties up missing ends.
I never realized Jolie also wrote a few novellas and when I read her newsletter yesterday, I jumped right into this bad boy! And I’m glad I did. Even though we were in the states, we still got the alpha Scottish hero, who is grumpy at first but very protective and caring toward his autumn. It started with lust and turned into so much more. Even though it was a novella this book felt like it had depth and character development. A wonderful little story with lovable side characters, a delicious Scottish accent, spicy heat and sweet romance. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The situation involving Autumn’s father and sister seemed so familiar. The author writes she had been a character in Hero but Goodreads indicated I had not read it. But then my memory kicked in and it turns out Hero was one of the stories in the Marry the Scot, Volume One collection which I had read. Mystery solved.
Sweet story of two souls with common goals finding each other. Everything came together despite the odds.
It still seemed extremely familiar but didn’t dampen my enjoyment.
I absolutely loved this! I will be honest, I really disliked Autumn in the previous book and wondered how I would read her story - but the author did it! I definitely think that Autumn's actions from the previous book were just skimmed over and easily accepted by Bull in this book - we are told Autumn feels guilty but we don't really feel it in my opinion. But we got to see another side to Autumn, one who was flirty and warm and kind - it was hard to dislike her with such introduction!
Autumn is introduced briefly in a previous book. We see the consequences of those actions, and how they revealed a string of cover-ups, lies and fraud within her family. Now she's on the run with her nephew.
I loved this novella! Bull 🥵 Yes please! That man checks all the boxes! A teddy bear hidden under the grizzly facade; he's actually sweet, protective and caring. Not to mention all that 'mine' action. 😍
Autumn Phillips (age 22) is the wing commander’s daughter. She featured in Hero and had to flee the country with her baby nephew, Benjamin. She’d run to Falls Ridge seeking refuge as has a friend there. Bull Graham (age 32) owns the bar and known to be grumpy due to a situation with an Ex. He is an honorable and good man.
I couldn’t really get into this short story. Autumn just annoyed me and I’m still upset with how she almost ruined Gordain’s life.
Although I was disappointed that it ended so quickly, it was a very good read. I didn't see that it said novels until afterwards. Definitely need some more of this.
“I’ll protect ye,” “Your boy, too. If you’re mine, if ye stay with me, I’ll keep ye safe. No one will hurt ye. If they come near ye, they’ll answer to me.”
I'm glad Autumn got her happy ending. A whirlwind drama and small town romance novella. I loved their found family.
Autumn and Bull what a love match. The things these two have been through they truly deserve each other and their HEA. Also if you know you know how this all ties in later in this world. I love Jolie's writint, so easy to read and sucks you in. The chemistry between these two does not dissapoint.
I loved this little peak into a character who was briefly introduced in Hero. Autumn story wad beautiful and perfect. What a man to find far from home.
