I'm not sure where to begin with this review. When Jane told me she's writing a dark romance, I had no doubt she'd absolutely kill it, but this is so much more. She's taken her ever present magic with words and wove a story that grips you right from the start.
There are so many emotions that tumble through you while following Hank and Hope's journey I can't even begin to explain it. There was so much passion, love, and anguish in this story I couldn't put it down.
If you've been a fan of Jane's books before, this will have you hook, line, and sinker. If you've never read a Jane Anthony book, then you best get one clicking.
I absolutely loved this story, and I know you will too.

This is my first read by this author and it certainly won't be the last as I absolutely loved this story.
After reaching rock bottom by her abusive husband Hope flees the life she detested and reinvents herself. When Hank enters her life she gets more than she bargained for.
I absolutely love these two characters. Hope has been through so much yet she's still strong and still fighting to live. Hank was oh so good. He's a hot alpha male yet can be so loving and understanding towards Hope. I love him lol
This is a well written angsty read with a warning to be heeded. I love books with warnings so I inhaled this. I'm really looking forward to reading more from this author.

Hank Isn't perfect, he is beautifully flawed. but that is what makes him so amazing, he isn't a rich dominate pretty boy alpha who swoops in and saved the day, a shinny knight without battle tested, dented armor. He is the blue collar, knight with greased, dinged, hamer dented, saw dust covered aromor. your everyday hero that you hope to find in real life. Hope stumbled across hank and a chance meeting "fate" brought them together. But, monsters alway lurk in fairy tales and Hopes monster is biding his time. Waiting for the perfect time to jump out of the shadows to destroy the happy fairy tale. I am in awe of Jane's ability to take a photo inspiration and turn it into something I could have never imagined.

Hope Moon is a broken woman, and hiding from her past. She moves to a small town, while having to reinvented herself, and the fear covers her to where she keeps to herself, as well. After one moment of madness, she's now a single mom who smiles on the outside, and fights demons on the inside. She knows if she lets her guard down, the past will find her, and this time it may kill her. Hank Lawless has been hurt, used, and betrayed by women, so now he just hooks up with them. However, he never got the sad women out of his mind fully. Years later he runs into her again, as she's his twin brother's neighbor. No matter how much she tries to shut him out, he can't stay away from her. But will she ever let her walls down enough to let him in? Resurrecting Hope was a great, and emotional story that I couldn't get enough of. Jane Anthony, with her talented writing style, had me fully addicted from the get go, and I was fully invested. Hank and Hope were great together, and their fiery flames threatened to scorch my kindle, not to mention my drawers. Diabolical twists and turns kept me on my toes, with heart racing, screaming f-bombs left and right, especially when things came to a head. I cannot wait to read whatever she puts out next, so I'll just end with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING this great suspenseful goodness, with a side of romance to ALL

What an enthralling book.. a second chance romance which at times was not easy reading with descriptions of violence and domestic abuse...but where there was darkness there was also light and a careful balance was maintained throughout ........
In many ways this was a book of two halves...the first half focused on the chance encounter and fraught relationship between the two protagonists, Hank and Hope, full of heated exchanges, passion, mistrust, secrets and insecurity.. the second half developed into a fast paced thriller and a more sinister plot emerged......
The premise for the story is not complex but it's execution makes it feel different....this difference is due to the depth of the characters and the narrative and most significantly the manner in which the dynamic story is told through the eyes of the two main characters interspersed with journal entries from the past and occasional flashbacks..this approach may sound confusing but in this instance it adds another layer to the storytelling...
Hope's abuse was so sensitively dealt with; I felt an emotional connection along with the menace, fear and anger she experienced..I definitely need a Hank in my life he is gorgeous, sexy, protective and a skilled handyman, what more could a woman desire...in fact all the characters are interesting and the supporting cast of family and friends provide additional shades of light and dark..
I would like to take a moment to mention the awesome playlist provided by the author....I know nowadays it has become almost an essential addition to every book and is rarely mentioned in reviews but the playlist on this occasion truly provided a perfect soundtrack to the unfolding events from a romantic rock ballad like Sweet Home Alabama to a classic song for stalkers in Every Breath you Take.....

Jane Anthony nailed it with this amazing book. Hope is on the run from her severely abusive mob husband. A chance encounter with a sexy repair man in her home and she's left with a surprise. She needs to try and move on with her life without constantly looking over her shoulder. Things are going as well as they can be. She has a new neighbor and he has a little girl. Little does either know that his brother coming to help him out? None other that her one nighter from a few years before. The passion and connection is still there but she is terrified he'll find out her secret. They're both damaged, for different reasons but maybe they can heal each other.
Monsters hide in dark corners, waiting for the perfect time to attack. Hope was an amazing woman who had the strength to escape and re-build her life. Now she'll do anything to protect those she loves, even if it means taking justice into her own hands. She can feel bad things in the air. She knows everything can't be perfect for long. I was in awe of her personality and strength. While it was obvious something was off, she did a good job of masking her discomfort around people. Hank has his own set of issues but he loves hard, and protects fiercely. He's a great one to have in her corner. He goes out of his way to do anything and everything for Hope. Most of all, he'll be her savior.
This is a dark story full of angst, but also a second chance of love and hope. This was a nail biting experience that I wouldn't have traded for anything while I was reading. My heart was broken, repaired, and the process was repeated. So many twist and turns kept me going, not wanting the book to end, yet not wanting to wait to find out what the outcome would be. I loved the dual pov, and the diary entries showed us exactly what Hope went through for years. I would highly recommend this book, with the warning of severely dark domestic violence.

This is the first book of this author that i have read and it won't be the last. I stumbled across Jane Anthony through a mutual reader as a recommend. This book! Took my breath away. I laughed, Oh Hank! I cried, Oh Hank! I swooned, Oh Hank! But most of all i loved every word! Hank and Hope and Kira. You can't help but fall for all of them. Hank and Hope both have their quirks that make them who they are but what i love is the transitions to 'us'. I hate when i read a book and the author tells me how to feel, it happens we know it does. With this one, it was so well written that i felt without even knowing yet what was going to happen. I felt for them both from the very beginning. Loved the story. Loved the characters. And I can't wait to see what else Jane Anthony has to offer!!

Jane Anthony is one of my top one-click authors and it's because she is a variety writer. I know that no matter what book she writes it will be detailed and full of emotion. With Resurrecting Hope she gave us a darker romance and she did not disappoint. Jack is a creepy b**stard with sick, twisted fetishes. It takes amazing courage for Hope to escape from him. For her to have the chance to find love again with Hank and to feel how love can come without pain is incredible. Hank was a hot man with a heart of gold and was the perfect hero in the end. For a book that will take your heart on an emotional rollercoaster dive into Resurrecting Hope!

Jane Anthony writes a fantastic story of love, tears, fear, sex, and life.
The first chapter of Hope's book isn't where the story begins well not all of it. We first meet Rebecca, AKA Hope, when a gorgeous man with deep blue eyes walks in on her in an emotional moment. Southern manners and his sweet touch can't stop his hard hot body from responding to hers. They let passion rage, and its hot! That's where they end... so they think.
A few years later Hope and her young daughter are happy living on their own. The father doesn't know about the child and she wanted to keep it that way. No problem there, this is until the tattooed southern man comes back into her life, unexpectedly for both of them. The flames and regrets pull them back together. But can a bad-boy be a white knight? Furthermore can she and will she let him?
As the story goes on we learn from Rebecca's diary a lot about why she is in her new town with a new name. The dark past of her youth invited in an absolutely horrible man. He is so nasty it was heartbreaking to read. She does what she needs to survive, until it's not enough.
Romance readers you will be happy to know this is a happy ever after. How could it not be with a man like Hank fighting for Hope and the daughter, who becomes his heart.

Jane Anthony has done it again this book is an absolute page turner. Resurrecting Hope has blown me away. It's darker than Jane's normal books but OMG so amazingly good and I didn't want it to end.
The book has diary entries from the past giving a glimpse of what Rebecca had to endure and 2 POV's so you can really get into their heads.
There's sadness, fear, hatred, lust, happiness, love, scorching hot sex scenes and emotional rollercoaster times that will have you screaming in your head 'NO that can't happen'.

This book.... I don't think I can even accurately describe how much I loved this book. I knew Jane was gonna kill it writing a dark romance. I mean... She's just that good. All you have to do is take a look at her other books to know that. She's always a go-to author for me.
I thought I love Jameson Tate until I met Kade Black. But then I hadn't met Hank yet. Cocky, sweet alpha that he is. And don't think he's gonna be a sweetie in the bedroom. Oh no. That man is all down, dirty and dominant.
Let's not forget Hope. She's a little weak but strong at the same time. Does that make sense? Honestly though. If I had her past, I would be too. But when she loves, she does it with her whole being.
These two together we're beautiful. While Hank wasn't as burned by his past as she was, he was broken in his own way. So you take these two tortured souls, put them together and you get something so simple it's breathtaking.
Until Jack. Jack is this soulless creature that's out of your worst nightmare. He's inherently evil. And even though Hope thought he broke her, he truly didn't. She was so much stronger than she thought in the end.
Jane, you done an amazing job writing a book in a genre that is not the easiest to write in. A genre that makes you dig deep into the dark. I absolutely loved this book and it is highly recommended for anyone who wants a taste of a down and dirty dominant male.

Five Emotional Stars! Hope is an abused wife on the run with her daughter trying to get away from her sick and twisted husband Jack. She moves to a new town, to a house that needs a lot of work. Hope hires a handyman who's she ends up having a one-night stand with. Now five years later and Hank the handyman is back. Hank wants Hope but she has covered up a bunch of secrets with lies. What will Hank do when he finds out Hope secrets? Will he be able to protect Hope and her daughter? This is book is a dark read and an emotional one so please read with caution cause there may be triggers. I was hooked from the first pages and found that I could not put the book down until I finished. The author writes an amazing and beautifully well written story. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and found I felt what they were going through. I found myself crying at times as well as getting mad and smiling as I read through the book. The story has plenty of exciting twists and turns as well as amazing chemistry. I have read books by this author before and look forward to seeing where she will go next! I highly recommend this book!

A woman with a dark past; a man with no plans for his future and a small town in the south. These are the bones of the story, but not the heart. The real story is in the details, the insights, and the backstory that is revealed one puzzle piece at a time. From the very first words, all I wanted was to find out who Hope Moon is and how she came to be.
I have only recently discovered Jane Anthony and I can honestly say she is on my list of must read authors. As in her previous books, Resurrecting Hope is very smartly written and captivating. She has created three dimensional characters in Hope and Hank and allowed their story to evolve, rather than just serving it up wrapped in a bow. The build up kept me interested in their lives, their story. And I love that!
Resurrecting Hope offers all the feels from love to anger, sadness to joy and fear to ecstasy. There are Oh s**t moments, in between the twists that made me think WTF; intermingled with sensual moments that left me needing to fan myself to cool my sparked libido.
In conclusion... I FLOVE this book. Ms. Anthony definitely delivered a sexy, intriguing and well written story. I highly recommend Resurrecting Hope to all who enjoy suspenseful romance. I rate this book 5 absolute stars and can't wait for the next offering from this author.

Absolutely phenomenal!!! I have read every single one of Jane Anthony's books and I have to say this is her best one yet!! It is a dark romance with some tough scenes to read but if you can handle that, and thoroughly enjoy this genre, then this is a must read! Follow Hope & Hank through one hell of a roller coaster. When I thought I knew what was going to happen next, a huge twist blew me away. I felt so many different emotions from beginning to end. From happy to sad, from anxious to scared. It's all wrapped up in this beautiful book! I also love the alternate point of views and the diary entries. It really helps to bring the whole story together. It gives you a look into the past and tells you how both characters feel about each other! Hope is a beautiful soul having been through hell and deserving her happily ever after. Hank is just a guy hoping to be what Hope needs. Things will try to ruin it, but as long as they have each other, they can withstand anything. Read the synopsis yourself to decide if this is the book for you... However, I will say this... If you love a good dark romance with hot sex and exciting twists and turns, this book is for you!

Jane Anthony is a new author to me. And Resurrecting Hope will not be the last book I read from her. I was hooked from the first page and I couldn´t put it down. On the other side I didn´t wanted this book to end, but I couldn´t not know what happens to the characters.

This is the first book that I have read from Jane Anthony. I didn't know what to expect but I am glad I took the recommendation from another author. This is a dark romance. Hope is on the run for her life. Hank is trying to find himself after a devastating end to a relationship. They are broken but they begin to put the pieces of each back together. Until Hope's old life comes crashing back into their life. You will cry, you will sigh, you will be scared, and you will fall in love! You will cheer for them to make it! You will fall in love with Hope, Hank, and Kira! You will thank whoever recommended Jane Anthony and Resurrecting Hope for the exceptional and captivating story. You will not be able to put this book done and even when you reach the last page you will wish for more! There could be some triggers for some readers so make sure to read the book summary for that information.

Jane you passed with flying colors! After just finishing this, you would know for a second tht this is your first time writing a dark romance! It was amaze- balls!
Hank and Hopes story sucked me in from the beginning!
Hope has been through so much gut wrenching horror with her Husband and has been molded into the broken woman that Hank first meets in Alabama. And he gives her what She asks. She managed to escape the hell she was living in but is still living scared everyday 5 yrs later. Hank is.....*swoon all man . A sexy tatted up carpenter and who is totally in love with her. He can see tht she the a tragic past. She can't hide that,but isn't willing to give up on her and the future he sees with her! He's had his fair share of misery and problems with his last relationship. These two characters will definitely stick with me for along time!
This is a must read!

What a ride this book was. I could not put this book down, I tell you! It had the perfect balance of darkness and light throughout, yet still kept you anxious about the outcome of the story. Anthony kept us on the edge of our seat for the whole of the book, and that is not easy to do.
I really liked how all of Anthony's characters were different. I know this may sound weird, but hear me out. All of the characters have inherently different views and personalities. You may say: "Well obviously!", but that is something that stood out for me that is different from many other books I have read. They don't all agree on the same things, and they don't all think the same things. Anthony has given them a life of their own, and that takes talent.
The themes explored in this book are, yes, heartwrenching, but also super important to have out in the open. Anthony demonstrates the psychological side of an abuse victim perfectly in my opinion from before, to during, to after. The diaries are brilliant and give great insights on Hope's past.
I truly recommend this book to, well, everyone who can handle it and its subject matter.

I received an ARC of this for an honest review. Hope has a past, a bad past and Jack almost destroyed her. When she meets Hank for the 2nd time, he isn't willing to let her walk away. Especially when they could be such a good family together, what could possibly tear them apart?
I started this without realizing it was dark romance and was blown away with the pleasant surprise. I haven't read Jane doing dark before, but she needs to keep it up! She has done a very good job of tainting Hope and Kira's world enough to draw you into the story without any effort at all. This book has a great balance of sweet and evil blends together for a roller coaster of a ride that makes you fall for Hank and root for him until the very last page. Team Hank all the way!

his is the first thing I've read by Jane Anthony....and wow! I was so pleasantly surprised. I have to admit, the only reason I even picked it up was for the darker elements. I've had such a hard time reading lately that I'm only choosing books that sound like they may really interest me.
Resurrecting Hope was an emotionally gripping tale of an abused woman finding herself. Coming into her own. Leaving her husband and deciding that all men aren't abusive.
Hank. Gahhh. I loved Hank. Loved that he was just handy. A regular man. Not some uber rich man, He's every man...he's any man...he's YOUR man next door.
The characterization was absolutely awesome. The writing was top notch.
I will most definitely add this author to my "must read" list.

This is the first book I have read by Jane Anthony. It is a dark romance story. My emotions were all over the place as I continued reading.
Hope is a broken woman and on the run from her husband Jack who has sexual fetish and gets off on pain.
Hope settles in a small town with hopes that Jack does not find her, now she is a single mom looking over her shoulders.
She meets Hank and has an instant attraction. Now she has a second chance at love. Hank with a huge heart, and Will do anything for Hope and her daughter, but Hope fears for both Hank and her daughter.
Take a chance on Jane Anthony, you will not want to miss out on her writing. I will definitely read her books again.
The characters are awesome and the plot is phenomenal.

A twisted dark back story with a trials and tribulations no woman should have to deal with. The haunted past of Hope leads to hiding. One fling with a stranger aka the handy man from the damn internet which causes another realm of problems. This book reminds me of something that could really happen. Wow. It is a page turner from go. Talk about an emotional ride with more twist and turns than a mountainous dirt road. Hank is sexy, loving, and definitely a Dominant man who tends to fall for the damsel in distress. My kind of man. Pick up your copy today!

Omg what can I say about this book other than you need to read this book. Every once in a while you'll come across a book that you know has that special something for me this is that book. I couldn't put it down the whole time. This is the first book by Jane Anthony I've read and I can honestly say it won't be my last either I'm a new fan now. This book will grab you and twist your heart till you reach the end. It was just so good. Loved it!!!❤ I can't wait to find out what she writes next.

All I can say is wow! Jane Anthony has twisted me inside out with emotions while reading Resurrecting Hope! I smiled, cried, and was so angry. This book delivers all the feels. I am proud to say not only do I LOVE the very talented author Jane Anthony, but I actually know her in real life and I am so impressed by her talent! If you are looking for an awesome page turning read... this is the book for you... if you are a Jersey girl or boy at heart... it's even more reason to check it out! I promise you won't be disappointed!
