After following her sister to Walker Creek, Texas, Ingrid Hagen accepts a position as a teacher’s assistant only to find herself in charge of the schoolhouse a week later. She’s never taught by herself before and already she must discipline one unruly boy. Things go from bad to worse when Sheriff Joshua Logan appears in her classroom and demands to know if she took a rod to his son. She’s never struck any child before! How could he accuse her of such a terrible thing?
Joshua realizes too late that he jumped to the wrong conclusion when his son’s new teacher rushes past him, her blue eyes filled with angry tears. He calls for her to stop, but she runs out the schoolhouse door and hoists her skirt to take off down the street. Now he’ll have to go after to her to apologize. Foolish young woman! Hasn’t anyone warned her that newcomers need to take it easy in the scorching Texas heat?

Miriam Minger says: It's been a wonderful experience to have all my novels published as eBooks, but the greatest thrill for me as a writer is when readers take the time to let me know they enjoyed my stories...
"I have read hundreds if not thousands of books in my lifetime and not once have I ever been moved to comment on one until now. This is without a doubt one of the best books I have ever read. I laughed. I cried. I remained at the edge of my seat devouring every single word you wove with this incredible story. I just wanted to let you know how deeply this story moved me and to thank you for creating it."
Wow. This one left me speechless, and thankful. I had done my job, which is to make you feel like you've dropped feet first into a world that captures your imagination and emotions so vividly you might be living and breathing the story. And that's one of the purest joys of reading, isn't it? I know it is for me, and it is my hope to continue to write books that make you live and breathe the adventure, laugh and cry, and that touch your heart.

After reading Kari, I could not wait to read the next book in this series!! Absolutely loving these stories ! Miss Ingrid Hagen has come to Walker Creek, Texas , following her sister and taken a job as a teacher’s assistant. But when she is pushed into taking charge of the school she is really apprehensive. Of course her first problem child has to be the son of the Sheriff, Joshua Logan. Joshua comes to the school accusing her of striking his boy. Of course Ingrid takes off upset and the Sheriff realizes he might have been wrong! A sweet story that absolutely warmed my heart. As usual Miriam Minger creates a wonderful story that kept me turning the pages. She never fails to pull me into her stories and makes me want to travel back in time!
Ingrid (Walker Creek Brides Book 2) by Miriam Minger 5 Stars This beautifully written story is an exciting mix of sweet, tragic, deeply emotional, and touching characters that will move you! The storyline is engaging and kept me rooted from the first page to the last. This is not your typical historical western romance because, I generally am NOT a fan of Westerns or of clean romance. So, imagine my surprise when I was sucked into this touching story from page one until the end, in one sitting. You know it’s good writing when I am admitting to loving and recommending this clean Western romance and looking forward to the next in this series! This is a truly gifted author! Beautifully written and extraordinarily moving. Happy Reading♥️
A sweet and joyful story. You can’t help falling in love with a young lady who looks and behaves like an Angel. Joshua has sworn off love since his wife died. What he doesn’t count on is the strong feelings he gets for Ingrid. With a little help from a guardian angel he is guided to the path that will bring him joy and peace. Together they give his children pleasant dreams instead of the nightmares they had before.
A young woman’s life is drastically altered in 1887 when the last words of her dying mother result in her eventually traveling to Texas. Though the personal plans Ingrid thought would happen in Minnesota are now occurring in a new place, she has high hopes that the days ahead will bring her much happiness. Her career choice does seem to be working out well plus her beloved family is nearby to bring her comfort, but it seems fate might even have more joyful circumstances in store for her, if she and another person make all the right decisions. I really enjoyed the second book in the Walker Creek Brides series, as numerous situations and the particularly interesting characters are truly believable.
When Ingrid Hagen went to visit her older sister whose short trip to Walker Creek, Texas ended up with her getting married and staying in the area, her own life also changes when she and her two younger siblings decide to remain in the town, too. Now she has become the only school teacher, and her actions when trying to make one student behave better has her coming in contact with the boy’s father. Joshua Logan is the town’s sheriff and a widower, so he has double responsibilities to perform every day, and every encounter with Ingrid could add to his troubles.
There are several very stirring events in INGRID, where emotions are clearly on display and a few instances are thought-provoking. Ingrid is trying her best to be a good teacher, but Joshua’s accusations upset her, making their relationship not get off to a good start. But as their paths keep crossing for various reasons, they come to comprehend the inner nature that the other does not let everyone see. Ingrid may appear to be softly spoken, but when riled, she can loudly speak her thoughts. After a tragic past incident, Joshua thinks love will never be in his future, yet meeting the new teacher leaves him confused. I found all the experiences that Miriam Minger imaginatively created for her main characters to be not only entertaining but also constantly enthralling.
I could feel the attraction between Ingrid and Joshua from the start. But he fears her unhappiness and the same fate as his deceased wife. His children were precocious, especially little Emily, who has no filter. Ingrid was young, uncertain, and passionate in her new role as teacher. I enjoyed reading more about her siblings; the dramatic Anita and her Viking warrior twin Andreas. Caleb was a totally different person than he was in the first book, now kind and compassionate where he was angry and judgmental. There were several suspenseful moments with Kari almost getting run over, David injured, the Sutherland family going into situations with fists or guns first. And there were paranormal elements with more appearances by Tante Kari. This was another sweet historical romance and I’m looking forward to rest of the Hagen siblings’ stories.
Miriam Minger has given readers a book that is well-written and very enjoyable! Ingrid is a wonderful story with characters that are believable and easy to relate to. Joshua and Ingrid came alive for me as I pictured them falling in love with each other. This story has a way of grabbing you the first few pages and then you can't put the book down until the end. I thoroughly enjoyed this short sweet novel that has a guardian angel looking out for them. I really enjoyed revisiting old friends that you haven't seen for a while. An Unforgettable Story! I can't wait to read Lily the 3rd story in Walker Creek Brides.
Ingrid was so inspiring to me that i would read it again. Joshua and Ingrid find a passionate and trusting relationship but can't seal it do to reasons. When you find out what happens it's amazing art the trials and tribulations they go through to find that lasting love if it's meant for them. What i love moist about Miriam Mingers series is she uses different aspects of Christian romance that makeus believe all things are possible as in God!
Kari's siblings have come to visit and are now living in Walker Creek. Ingrid has a job as assistant school teacher which quickly becomes her full responsibility. When she needs to discipline the Sheriff's son her love turns a bit topsy turvy and ends with an HEA after a very dramatic event.
I truly loved this second book of the Walker Creek Brides. I was not able to put it down. This romance was sweet and clean. The characters in this story made you want to find a love like them.
Joshua- town sheriff and a widower. Ingrid- Kari's sister and school teacher. I enjoyed reading this captivating story that is well written with charismatic characters and an intriguing plot. Love the angel in this series. Their story has a dramatically sweet HEA.
This was a really great story. Ingrid was the school teacher and had kept Davy after school, for he had been so that day. When he went home his father wanted to know why he was late, and of course he told him. Well Joshua went to the school to question Ingrid. This story gets even more interesting, when she becomes up set and rushes out of the school. So much more happens, really great reading, enjoy.
