Nicole, Dylan and Jilly may have escaped the horrors of the auction house but they aren’t safe.
Madame Moirai has eyes everywhere. There’s nowhere the girls can go that can shelter them for long. On the run, with no one to trust, it’s just a matter of time before they’re found. Enlisting the help of a disgraced NYPD detective turned private investigator with demons of his own and a sociopathic criminal kingpin, the girls will discover just how far they’re willing to go to take down Madame Moirai.
All they have is each other — and a dogged will to survive.
I love this series! I can't wait to finish it, but at the same time... Never want it to end. The characters are relatable, as well as the storyline. I've gotten sucked into their world and not realized hours have passed! Definitely recommend
Meh. This 2nd book in the trilogy seemed rushed and repetitive with a lot of typos. Apparently they only had an editor for the first book. These are very quick reads, as I read each of the first and second books in one day. There was no closure to this one, so of course I might as well read the final book today to see what happens. Whereas the first novel followed the plot arc at least, this one was just a series of events with no climax nor resolution.
This is completely annoying because it’s a story that needed to be told in one good book. Instead 3 books that don’t go far enough before they end.I’m not sure I’ll read the last one since it’s not ready and feels likes it’s being dangled.. each book alone is just not powerful enough. 2nd book mostly nothing not expected.. just fluff...
The Girls They Lost The Auction Trilogy, Book 2 By: J.H. Leigh Narrated by: Sarah Puckett
Picking up where book one left off and I am still spellbound by this series. JH Leigh has me completely invested in the outcome of this case and I cannot wait to get to the bottom of it. The girls are out and seeking help to not only stay safe, but take Avalon down. This human trafficking conglomerate is strong, global and never leaves a loose end. Will Dylan and Nicole find their revenge? Entrusting their story to Badger, and underground leader and an NYPD detective, there is hope. Or is there? This book is action packed, full of suspense and horror! I could not stop listening and now, just where it leaves off, I am left hanging until the conclusion is released! It will be a pleasure to listen to it!
Sarah Puckett continues her narration with a bone chilling performance. She nails each of the characters, keeping the emotionally charged scenes full of the fear and anguish they need. I am loving her performance and look forward to the finale!
Thankfully, this picks up right where book 1 left off and it does a good job of meshing young girls on the run, having to finish growing up even faster and navigate life post-trafficking experience, with vengeance.
An incredibly fast-paced read which packs: having to be on the lamb, danger, mürd3r, corruption, mystery and more. Impossibly strong female lead—really can’t say enough. See my review of book 1 for more details.
I strongly recommend reading this trilogy in order and in completion. It’s amazingly well done.
5 stars
“I walked in, a victim. I was leaving as a predator.”
Audio: Amazing, Puckett one of my favorite narrators and the overall sound quality was absolutely perfect. She was an excellent choice to voice Nicole—one of the strongest, most resilient female leads I’ve ‘met’. 🦩
We pick back up with Nicole, Dylan and Jillie as they seek help from the underground. We learn Dylan's reasons for going to the auction and the search for her best friend Nova. With the help of Badger, a small time underground crime lord, Hicks a former police office turned PI, and a NYPD officer who sees some of herself in the girls, they try to unravel who is involved with Avalon and how to bring down a global trafficking group. But the group isn't letting them go without a fight. When assassains find their safe house, there are dire consequences.
I try to stop and write a review after I read each book in a series in order to not get events mixes up. However, this series was too good to put down so I moved right on to book three late last night
All 3 books was filled with “F” bombs & crude. I only read because story was interesting and wanted to see how it turned out. I did skim through a lot because of the every other word being “F” bomb. I thought the ending was going to be great and was very disappointed. Just wanted more detail on how Nicole took care of her buyer and others. I can’t say I would recommend this book series or any future books by author unless the extreme language and crudeness got cleaned up. Author has potential writing thriller’s but like I said 3 things need to be cleaned up. 1. Language 2. Crudeness 3. Less repeating
I am very happy with the second book in this trilogy. While I did enjoy the first I felt like it didn't have enough in it, but this second book stuffed my brain with a lot of new information, people, places and leads!
I don't know why Im not giving it 5 stars, maybe because something is lacking... It might be the main character Nicole. While I like her, I feel like her "feel bad for me" mentality angers me BUT it got a lot better in this book. I'm happy with this book and I am SO excited to see what happens!!
Omg! This second one is as good as the first! It’s gripping and reality based so really draws the listener in. I love the way the story is moving. It’s at a fast pace, filled with characters that we already know and love, as well as a few new ones.
This one is the second in the trilogy, so I highly recommend starting with the first book in the series and then listening to this one. I did listen to this on Audio. Sarah Puckett is the narrator, and she does outstanding in this book/series. I can’t wait for the last book to see what happens.
While Book 2 of the The Auction Trilogy wasn’t as WTF as Book 1, it still provided a punch as bodies began to pile up.
The trio of Auctioned girls (Nicole, Dylan & Jilly) who survived were on a mission to bring prevent their experiences from happening to other girls.
It didn’t take long for them to realize the just how big of an operation & how deep the pockets were. It was going to take a lot of help for them to take this operation… AND to keep them alive.
Looking forward to the final installment: The Girls They Fear.
Amazing narration from Sarah Puckett, who will make your spine chill. She brings out the emotion and makes this an amazing listen.
This book picks up from the last one left off. The girls are out and looking to take Avalon down. This human trafficking conglomerate is world wide and never leaves a loose end. This book is action packed, full of suspense and brutal. Just amazing plot, you can not help but keep listening.
This book is super intense and filled with raw grittiness. It is so gripping that you really feel the fear that Nicole and Dylan are experiencing. I want justice for these for girls. I can't wait for Madame Morai and her evil minions to be taken down for good. This is a darn good series! I enjoyed reading this book. I voluntarily read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Such a good book, but filled with typos. I wasn't going to comment about the mistakes, however the first installment of the series had so many typos as well. Please find another editor! It's detracting from your hard work and wonderful creativity.
As the first book and now the second book no ending so you must be prepared to read all three,I hope the last book has a ending these girls have had it ruff I hope they find this global sex trafficking group .I am excited to read number three this is a great writer
This story was so moving just like the first book!!!. It continues to piss me off how the rich can get away doing all this crap and continue on with their lives like nothing happened!!!. Well CARMA is a B_tch. So watch your backs!!!. J.H. is a fantastic storyteller and is a PHENOMENAL writer.
Each girls emotions remain high in this book. Dylan has a very hard edge to her personality. I really liked Jilly 's character she seemed to me she would have had a vibrant personality if things would have been different in her life . I hope these girls get the answers they were looking for.
The grammatical errors stand out to me, more than the first book. It’s a quick read, which is helpful when you are sucked in but can’t really handle the writing. It seems to be drug out, much like the first book. Not a bad storyline, just doesn’t seem super probable either (admittedly, I don’t think “probable” was something I was looking for, especially with this topic)
I think this might be the best of the three volumes. The girls have escaped the house and are now slowly discovering the vastness of the organisation from which they escaped. In this volume, they're chased by the people who want to shut them up, with a few very violent scenes in which they're caught and must escape again.
Not as strong as book 1. Getting repetitive. Nobody cares about the girls, powerful people involved, revenge thoughts etc.Punctuation missing. Words missing. Somebody should have proof read.
These books grabbed from the start. You could feel the tension building with each page! I could not put it down you will cheer on the characters. I can't wait to read the 3rd book !
You could completely skip book two in this series... It was all filler and add little to the story... I hate when author’s do this drag out a storyline just to make it a three part series!
The story continues to unfold , like an onion has layers the bad characters circle with the truth. Well, until their death that is. Friendship has no boundaries when all you have is each other. Another great installment
As soon as I finished “The Girls They Stole”, I jumped right into this one. I need the audio for book 3 so I can find out what happens next! This one is action packed and I can’t wait to see how things work out. Even if you’re not a fan of cliffhangers I think this one will be worth the wait!
This is the second book. And it's action packed and full of suspense. It will keep you wanting to keep going till the end to see what happens. Can't wait for the next one!
I got this on audio and really enjoyed the narration, really well done.
This story is thrilling, intense, emotional, brutal. Despite all the horrors they've been through, the girls are determined to get their revenge to expose their tormentors. Sarah Puckett expresses all the emotions of each character to this audio. Very well done. #PFP #The flock
