Ernest Hemingway didn't write this exciting novel, He appears in it as the main character. "papa" Hemingway wanted to get into the war against the Nazis. He hated them for what they had done. But he was too old for active service and his eyesight wasn't so good. So he offered himself and his fishing boat to the Allies as a submarine spotter off the coast of cuba. The only adventure novel in which the two-fisted writer appears as the principal character.

A good pastiche of Hemingway’s style. Both in prose and wit and sentiment. Some funny one liners and great characters. I recommend this as an enjoyable, light read.
The author Henry Morgan is the main character in the book - this is a fact. Hemingway the novelist is in the book, but the true hero in the book is Morgan and this is because the thoughts, actions and historical background is more on Morgan and almost non-existing on Hemmingway. Ok, but that said it is a book written almost in Hemmingway style - very direct and with very tough people in it. The author however keeps you intrigued and in the end it is still an enjoyable read and I think he is a good author.
One of the stranger books around. The writer, Henry Morgan, is the lead narrator by name in this book, which is about his meeting with Ernest Hemingway and striking up a brief friendship. Really good dialogue, short on a lot of action as the book promised- it's more of a story of these two getting to know each other, their past, and a plot by the Germans to kidnap Hemingway. Very odd, and there's not much about this book out there. I enjoyed it.
