This is a straightforward, no nonsense, pragmatic guide. Few earth shattering revelations. It felt like a mix of a summary of the NHS website and a chat with your GP friend. Possibly a useful handbook to have around, but long lists of eg vitamins and minerals and where to get each one or the 20 most common cancers and how to spot them. There were a few more interesting chapters about her patients and chats with healthy older people dispensing their views on how they beat the odds but nothing overly ground breaking.
This is one of the best books I've ready on leading a truly healthy lifestyle, without needing to do anything extreme. Just good information on how to lead a long, healthy, fulfilling life. It's the first book I've read that I'm going straight back to the beginning to read again. It's just that I'm 68 and my brain won't hold it all at once! I highly recommend.
