I wish I wasn’t but I was disappointed. I read the first book maybe two years ago so I was very rusty on the details. This second book picks right where it left off on which is sometimes nice, but seeing that this was a fantasy world, names that were so different, talents characters have, and many relationships throughout, a little bit of background thrown in at the beginning would have been helpful. I felt the first book was immature, this one seemed worse, or I just simply wasn’t in the mood for the mind of a teenager. The first book had so much potential. This second book definitely sets up for the next book and leaves you hanging, but through this book I lost some hope that it will be worth continuing. While immature I do still think this series would be great for middle schoolers, and I would be happy to let my daughters read it.
It kept me reading with some unexpected turns that made me love the characters even more! I can't wait to see what happens next! No spoilers here, you'll just have to go find out :)
