Second Chances

I have written two Jane Austen ‘parallel novels’: Lessons of Advantage, based on Pride and Prejudice, and Second Chances, based on Persuasion. Unlike the many Jane Austen continuations, a parallel novel follows the lines of the original story, but tells it from new perspectives.My aim has been to capture the characteristic rhythms of Jane Austen’s language while remaining true to her moral and social values.
