Bart Smith, governor of Tennessee, has never cared for shifters. He sees them as violent and unpredictable. So long as they abide by the laws set in place and keep to themselves, he's content with the status quo. But when duty calls, and he witnesses the magnitude of torture and abuse, he can no longer ignore the cruel discrimination, and vows that shifters will receive equal rights. Subsequently, he hires the alluring Erika Pittman and his world becomes further entwined with the intriguing shifters. Their passion ignites to a scorching level and they become the target of a public scandal. As pressure to resign builds and Bart's life is threatened, he must make a difficult choice. One that could cost him everything, including his career and the woman he's fallen for.

Erika Pittman has searched her whole life for a pack where she is loved and respected. Her small stature has led to ridicule and bullying by family and pack members which leaves her mentally scarred, not to mention, formed a concrete wall around her broken soul. When she's rescued from a lab facility that captures and torments shifters, Erika is taken to Safe Haven, home of the Hollow Rock pack. She's quickly appointed to a position that takes her to Chattanooga, the governor's mansion, and the incredibly rich, arrogant (and undeniably sexy) Bart Smith. She wants to hate him but his continued effort and support prove her wrong at every turn. He leaves her wolf howling for more, and she cannot suppress her desires for long. As political turmoil rises to an insurmountable level, Erika finds herself on the receiving end of extreme injustice and wonders if her newfound happiness will end with her spending the rest of her days in a six by eight prison cell.

This book is all about Liv's friend Bart, the governor of Tennessee, and Ericka. Ericka is one of the wolves that was rescued in Ravin. Bart was the one who carried her wolf out of the lab and he is just as captivated by her human form as he was by her wolf. He tries to control his lust because she is working the him as the shifter liaison in the governor's office. However, that is easier said than done. I won't spoil the story for you but big things will happen that affect the shifter community as a whole and Bart and Ericka will be caught in the middle.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Hate and violence rear their heads.

I knew I loved Patricia! She saved the day. I absolutely love Erika & Bart. He joined the shifter love side. Lol. I can't wait to see what it's like with Bart at Safe Haven. Elaine is someone I hate more than Jim. She is insane. And can wiggle out of anything! It's not fair.

Interesting

It was about time for a female shifter & Brad needed his own story. I enjoyed the storyline & the new, strong female shifter.

He never cared for shifters until he witnesses the magnitude of the torture and abuse and he can no longer ignore the cruel discrimination. As governor of Tennessee, Bart Smith vows that shifters will receive equal rights and hires the alluring Erika Pittman. Their passion ignites to a scorching level and they become the target of a public scandal one that could cost Bart his career and the woman he’s falling for and Erika faces losing her newfound happiness and spending her days in a six by eight prison cell.

Bart and Erika’s story is quite surprising and full of excitement, suspense and passion. These characters are strong, vibrant and are so fantastically cute together, while their romance is full of sizzling chemistry and emotionally turbulence which ensures that readers want to know every bit to their story.

The plot is fast pace and full of adrenaline pumping suspense as the hostilities between humans and shifters are reaching deadly proportions and puts both their lives in jeopardy. Their relationship progresses despite all of the turbulence only the evil scientist and the law are adding sticks of dynamite to the already volatile situation and their happily ever after may be something that they barely get a taste of. Exciting twists, ‘a just knew it’ betrayal and a spirited romance ensure that readers remain glued to the pages of this fascinating and gripping ‘Hollow Rock Shifter’ story.

Just like the others in the series, this was an amazing story! I wasn't sure if Bart would get his own book. I'm so happy he did. So much went on here. I have no idea how to write this review without spoilers. I'm gonna try my best. (I personally don't mind them, but don't want to be the one to give them) So here we go. Bart has always had a place in my heart, he just needed to find his way. He showed his strength in this story. Not just his physical strength (cause he nailed that), but his strength to make the right decisions. Kelly showed her true colors, won't say what they are though. Erika found her purpose. She deserved it! The action was great, suspense on point and the romance was written with such love that you could feel it. The authors manage to pull you in and hold you from the first page. I would suggest starting the series at the beginning. As a standalone, it would be tough. I loved every minute of this book. Family and Pack are loyal. That is the heart of the story. Here's the kicker...….cliffhanger! I normally would take a star away for this. I just couldn't. Everything about it was spot on. I don't have a clue how I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy, but I did! I am voluntarily leaving this review.

I am so happy to finally have Bart’s story. The connection between Bart & Erika might not have been instant on Erika’s part but Bart knew he had too have her. The war against shifters isn’t done yet and Lawson and the gang will do anything too keep his pack safe. Really great story and I can’t wait too read the next book in this series.

Yet another wonderful book in this series. The level of prejudice against shifters after all they have been through is probably a true reflection of how humans have behaved against any minority group, so it has a very believable theme. Although essentially a PNR there is enough going on throughout the book to make it a truly enjoyasble read. Great to catch up with some of the previous characters and there is clearly more to come.
Great job, looking forward to more.

Intense

This was a serious story with some humor.
It's about time there is a story about a female shifter and a human male.
The only part I'm sad about is the big secret reveal was skipped over. I think that would've added some goodness to the story.

The story it self was OMG! Lawson had a amazing self about how he took control of his family and friends and people that he meet. But Bart well he came to care about others with a different race and understood that no matter what race you were human or wolf you live to respect 💯 each other.

Another home run!

Awesome well written fast paced book. Engaging but socially relevant with the discrimination still present today. Only this two could take a socially charged issue and turn it i go a paranormal can't put it down masterpiece.
