Following Ms. Kelly's project rules was proving to be a challenge.
Rule #1: Don't run.
That was the first and the worst, since all I wanted to do was run.

I'd never realized there was truth hidden within urban legends, until now. The stories were created so ordinary people would respect the dangers that surrounded them. But now, we knew different.

The Urban Mystic Academy, UMA as we called ourselves, was secretly trained to debunk the haunting myths. But our supernatural powers were still evolving and the mystical threats were growing. Exposing the truth, and saving those in danger, was our mission.

SECOND PROJECT: Capture the Dark Witch

Closing the witch's portal was the mission, and doing it without dying was the bonus.

High school was a nightmare, but worrying about friends being burned at the stake took it to a whole new level. Pulling together with the other UMAs and combining our gifts for optimal power was the best approach. But little did we realize, our enemies had similar unworldly gifts, and infiltrated our ranks without us even knowing.

Reaching graduation was a long-shot. Making it to the end of the term was suddenly the true focus.

Brynn, Shane and their friends are back and it’s a race against time to rescue Dom and protect young Tommy from falling into the clutches of the Dark Witch. Their journey is thrilling and intense with lots of twists. The cliffhanger ending left me very curious about what’s going on with Brynn. I look forward to finding out more.

Oh my. Should I count the amount of times the words blasted and bombed were used? 🙄
I got the impression the author learned new words and really wanted to put them to use.

**I would first like to thank Jennifer Rose McMahon for giving me the amazing opportunity to be able to read this 2nd book in her newest series!**

UMA: Second Project picks up where the first book in this series leaves off, except Brynn can't help but notice someone from the UMA group is missing as the first school day back from their latest project completed as the day goes on.

I absolutely LOVED this book, the second book in this series gives us a lot of background information that is very important to understand the full story of what is going on. It's really hard to not put any spoilers, but I have to admit I've always been curious about witch hunts back in the early years of this country. Even though this book might be fictional, we all are aware that the witch hunts (especially Salem) was something that was very real in our history & I love how the author adds this element in showing us the realities of how these terrible injustices happened. It also gives us an understanding of what (& who) originally created the mission aka project that the UMAs are up against or more importantly why the things that are happening in the present world.

I seriously can't wait for the 3rd book in this series to find out what will happen to the UMAs & everyone else involved now that there is a better understanding of what is going on. If anyone is powerful enough to save the people in danger though it will be Brynn & the other UMAs.

As I've said before in the first book, I highly recommend this series as it touches upon subjects that are both relatable to our every day struggles as well as struggles only people who have a gift can relate to, but that doesn't mean you can't learn & try to understand the things that might seem impossible as the world is never as it seems.. believe me I would know, as well as Jennifer Rose McMahon knows as she allows you to have a front row seat in understanding. You just need to have an open mind as the realities of our history shows the deadly consequences of having a closed mind. =]

Control Your Fear...

"Control your fear," I whispered. - Brynn

The group is ecstatic they have completed their first assignment successfully: the recovery of Tommy, a child lost so many years ago. But their euphoria is quickly quashed when they realize a member of their team, Dom, is missing... They need advice from Ms. Kelly ASAP.

Meeting with their advisor, Ms. Kelly, Brynn and the others discuss their limited options. The only decision that makes sense is to approach the former queen bee Laney and try to discover what she knows. But what Brynn and Shane discover defies belief....

"Darkness always prevails." - Laney

Fast, intense and original, this whirlwind of a tale leaves you gasping! It careens from crisis to dire situation to intense standoffs. Highs and lows, betrayals, dangers and surprises... If you enjoy fantasy, magic and hard won grit, you'll love this book!

Brynn and her friends are back with another "grand" adventure, this time to save Dom. It was a wild ride with twists and characters both good and bad. And the bad were awesome. I loved it. I really liked how the gang faced their fears and stepped up to save Dom. And Tommy was too cute. Just an amazing book 2 in this imaginative series that keeps you reading to the end to see what the UMA kids would learn this time and how they would prevail.
