Sparks fly between an L.A. career woman and a former Army Ranger in this delightful enemies-to-lovers romance from the USA Today bestselling queen of small-town love stories.
Welcome to Highland Falls, a small town where love is always in the air.
In just a few months Abby Everhart has gone from being a top LA media influencer to an unemployed divorcée living out of her car. So inheriting her great-aunt's homestead comes at the perfect time. Abby heads to Highland Falls, North Carolina, to spruce up Honeysuckle Farm before putting it on the market for some much-needed cash. But instead of finding a charming getaway, she discovers a serious fixer-upper, complete with a leaky roof, overgrown yard, and a reclusive -- albeit sexy -- man living on the property.
Ex-Delta Force soldier Hunter MacKenzie has faced war and loss, but nothing has quite prepared him for an outgoing redhead who's determined to turn his life upside down. Hunter doesn't want to get involved with anyone, especially a city girl who plans to sell the only place he's ever felt at home. But the sparks between them are undeniable. Spending time with Abby is easy. Convincing her to stay for good is another matter entirely.
Debbie Mason is the USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestselling author of the Christmas, Colorado series and the Harmony Harbor series. The first book in her Christmas, Colorado series, “The Trouble with Christmas,” was the inspiration for Hallmark’s “Welcome to Christmas.” Her books have been praised by RT Book Reviews for their “likable characters, clever dialogue, and juicy plots.” When Debbie isn’t writing, she enjoys spending time with her family in Ottawa, Canada.
Down on her luck, Abby Everhart is moving to a small town in North Carolina to start over. In her great aunt's will, Abby has inherited the Honeysuckle Farm. Beggars can't be choosers and after living in her car in L.A. for the last six months, she's ready for a change. In tow with her dog, Bella and her luggage, she takes an uber ride to her aunt's property. When she arrives, she realizes this is more than she bargained for. Still, her idea is to find help remodeling the house and then to sell it. Afterward, she will return to L.A. with her head held high and show her ex-husband, Chandler and his new girlfriend, Juliette, that their actions didn't break her. There is only one problem, part of her aunt's property is not hers.
Hunter MacKenzie enjoys the peace the farm gives him. His only company is his dog, Wolf. Hunter is a former soldier and when he came back two years ago after losing his best friend, he couldn't be the same person he was before he enlisted. The town believes him to be a recluse and his family is worried about the distance he has placed between them. Liz, Abby's great aunt, had been his only friend in the last couple of years. Before passing, she had always said she was leaving the property to him. He was shocked to learn that it was not so, Abby has inherited the house and part of the land.
When Hunter and Abby meet with the help of Bella and Wolf, his solitude is threatened. His priorities start shifting. Parts of his old self starts making an appearance. He grudgingly has to admit that having Abby around is not awful and he actually enjoys spending time with her. The question is, Is she going to stay?
A really adorable love story. I love Abby. She was a quirky heroine who had had it rough most of her life. She was a trooper and tried her best. Learning about her past, made me like her even more. Hunter was the perfect opposite of Abby, yet little by little, he opened up and started living again. Of course, I can forget Bella and Wolf. Their interactions made me laugh at loud.
Highland Falls is my favorite new place. I can't wait for the next romance in this series. Please hurry up, Mrs. Mason.

I took a chance. It didn't work out. I only made it a chapter, but that was enough to learn that Abby is an idiot, a clutz, a little bit mean about her sisters, and a liar. It's not helping that I'm being asked to believe that yet another divorcee of a cheating rich guy ended up not only with nothing, but also lost her career and friends to boot. This is not a thing. Cheating men are reviled across the spectrum and there are flocks of very talented folks who are eager to help wronged women extract every ounce of deserved recompense from the one demographic that it is absolutely and unequivocally okay to hate without reserve. Cheater. Male. White. This guy is practically Satan and she came away with nothing? Really?
I really wish that authors who want to have a heroine who experiences a great fall only to find their strength and resolve and happiness with the resulting life changes would come up with backgrounds that didn't ask me to absorb ridiculous contrivances. If she has been done wrong by something that doesn't really exist can we at least have the imagination to make it something interesting? Like dragons. Those are cool. Or how about having her not be a victim at all? If she's going to go through a life change, anyway, why not have the fall be something she deserves, even if only a little bit?
And now I've spent more original thought than the author and in a fraction of the word count... So yeah, one star dnf for this one.
Three and a half stars. Abby Everhart, once a media influencer with a large following, ends up an unemployed divorcee living out of her car for six months in L.A. That is until she inherits her great-aunt’s homestead in Highland Falls North Carolina. She heads to Highland Falls with her Yorkshire terrier Bella planning to spruce the place up a little and put it on the market ASAP before heading back to LA. Those plans have to be seriously revised when she sees the state of Honeysuckle Farm. This is not the charming getaway she envisaged. It needs serious work to fix it up. Even worse she finds a man living on the property and he has inherited the other half of Honeysuckle Farm. Hunter MacKenzie definitely does not want a city girl with her killer high heels selling the only place he has ever felt at home. But then he doesn’t think she will last long out of her city environment. He just wants her and her little dog he calls a rat, out of his and his canine friend’s way. Abby seems destined to create chaos. Hunter has enough issues from his past without getting tangled up with this redhead who seems to be the biggest klutz out. Could there be another explanation for her clumsiness? Improbable and over the top, yes this book is in some ways without a doubt . Takes some suspension of disbelief. That too, but in the end I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this. That it was a compete contrast to the previous book I had read, was a good thing it turns out. I liked Abby and Hunter, Abby's almost perfection sisters, Haven and Haley and a range of townsfolk plus Hunter's siblings. Among the characters s Granny Macleod and her prophecies that have been known to come true, as Hunter found out with his friend Danny. Serious issues like grief and guilt, and family relationship are a few of the topics dealt with. There is also romance. It was a fun read, not laugh aloud but amusing. Enjoyable.
SUMMER ON HONEYSUCKLE RIDGE is the first book in the Highland Falls series. The story follows former successful influencer, Abby Everhart as she tries to renovate an old rundown farmhouse she inherited from her aunt. In the process she meets Hunter MacKenzie, a military veteran hiding from the world, and sparks fly. SUMMER ON HONEYSUCKLE RIDGE is a heartwarming, spirited, satisfying tale about teamwork, communication, love, and taking chances. It’s a fabulous start to the new Highland Falls series by Debbie Mason, and I can’t wait to read Mallory & Gabriel’s story next.
Abby might have suffered a couple of setbacks, but she is not about to let this get her down or deter her from her plans to climb back up to the top – and as luck would have it, fate has presented her with the perfect opportunity to get her back on her feet. SUMMER ON HONEYSUCKLE RIDGE involves the whole town and a range of characters are introduced, which helps to develop the story. I loved the dogs Bella (Abby’s Yorkshire) and Wolf (Hunter’s part dog, part wolf), they just add a touch of light hearted humor. I loved the whole opposites attract thing going on with the Abby and Hunter as well.
SUMMER IN HONEYSUCKLE RIDGE is filled with mystery, but it is always fun and light hearted. I found myself giggling at many of the situations with Abby and Hunter. I’ve read Debbie Mason before and have always enjoyed her stories. I truly thought I knew who was behind the mystery, but I was totally off base. I love reading about Highland Falls, North Carolina, and I’m looking forward to continuing this wonderful series. I finished this one with a huge smile on my face and that is why I always rush to pick up Debbie Mason’s books when they come out. They are just that good.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Forever through Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge is an amusing, tenderhearted, enemies-to-more romance that transports you to the small town of Highland Falls and introduces you to the reclusive, broody, Hunter who is content to live alone and wallow in his guilt and grief for past losses, and the spunky, accident-prone Abby who is need of some quick cash and is determined to scrimp, save, fix, sell and move on as quickly as possible.
The writing is humorous and light. The characters are supportive, helpful, and fun-loving. And the plot is a charming blend of family, friendship, touching moments, adversity, attraction, chemistry, swoony romance and hilarious mishaps.
Overall, Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge is a heartwarming, spirited, satisfying tale about teamwork, communication, love, and taking chances. It’s a fabulous start to the new Highland Falls series by Mason, and I can’t wait to read Mallory & Gabriel’s story next.
Thank you to Forever and Grand Central Publishing for providing me with a copy in an exchange for an honest review.
Such a heartwarming romance novel. It's one of those novels that make you want to curl up in bed with a cozy quilt.
The main characters in the book are well developed. You have Abby, that you love and hate at the same time. Abby is overly exuberant, a chatterbox, and charming at the same time. Then you have Hunter, who is the stoic, masculine veteran. Abby and Hunter are the most unlikely match up. But what develops between them can be likened to the push-pull of magnets. You'll laugh and you'll cry as the dynamics between Abby and Hunter play out in their love-hate relationship.
Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge will tug at your heartstrings, make you smile, and want more. How can you not want to know what's in store?
Four stars -- I really liked it. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this novel in exchange for my honest review.
This is the 1st book of a new series and can not wait to read the rest. Abby is moving to NC after a bitter divorce that she ended up losing everything. She found out she inherited a small farm by her great aunt. Hunter also inherited half the farm. He was in the military and is wallowing in guilt and wants to be left alone. Paired up with Abby, who is chatterbox and clumsy, he wants to just hide. The farmhouse is run down and needs to be fixed up. Abby is poor and Hunter doesn't have money either. But somehow they work together to get the farmhouse liveable. I loved these 2 together and Abby's 2 stepsisters sound perfect and they love Abby so much. You get to learn of their relationship and that of her moms.
I loved this book! I don't believe I've read this author before but I'm glad I found her. This was a wonderful romance that left me in happy tears. There was some mystery, lots of laughs, and a few angry moments where you felt bad for all of the crap that people piled on Abby. Abby is so sweet and lovable and the perfect match for the gruff, HOT Hunter. I love the setting of the Highlands of NC. They always seem so otherwordly and beautiful when reading about them. I really enjoyed the relationships between the different groups of women too. I can't wait to read more about Highland Falls. I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher and voluntarily chose to review it.
Ugh. There were some good parts to this book but the story felt a little all over the place, and it wrapped up really quickly. In general it was a good escape, but I was annoyed with it by the end.
I can remember a time when starting a new series by a beloved author messed up my whole world. I hated leaving such loved characters. I didn't think I'd be able to fall for a whole new group. It took a few special authors to help me get over my fear. Debbie Mason is one of those authors.
With her I know I'll be getting new wonderful characters that I can fall in love with.
And that's just what happened in Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge. I just loved Abby and Hunter. These two are perfect together. More than once throughout the book I caught myself putting down the book so I could think about them and how they are together. See, this is why I love Mason's books. It doesn't matter if I like the character or not, I always get engrossed with the story.
Since I myself like to learn things as I read them I won't get into too much about some of the stuff that happens to Abby or Abby's little issue. Just know that out of all her heroine's Abby is one of my top favorites. She is so real and giving. She's always willing to help someone out. Even when she's making mistakes it's never because she's not carrying about others.
Now Hunter is a little harder nut to crack. He is a totally unhappy person and I get why that is. He's had a ton of crap happen in his past that weighs heavily on his shoulders. You feel for him hidden away from those he loves because it's easier to be with himself than others.
That is until Abby comes along. She shakes up his world and really misses with his intentions of being all alone for the rest of his life. If he's not there to protect the woman she might hurt herself. I bet you want to know why...read the book.
Like with all of Mason's series you'll have characters you are not sure if you'll like or not. That's part of the fun in her books. You can't wait to see how they'll make you like them. Right away I can see so many characters that I NEED their stories. This was a ball to read and I would have to say so far this year my favorite read. Now the year isn't over yet so that can change. Did I mention she also has a book out at the end of September...
If you haven't yet read a book by Debbie Mason this is the perfect series to start. You'll love kilt staring, chest touch Abby. Again, you'll need to read the book to understand what I'm talking about. I hope I wet your whistle.
Summer On Honeysuckle Ridge was the perfect book for me to hunker down under a blanket and devour.
Hunter and Abby's story is flirty yet frustrating, as they snap and bite at each other (in a non kinky way!)
Our girl Abby has had a crappy year, but she is the epitome of "when life throws you lemons, make lemonade." She doesn't let anyone or anything get her down, and when you learn her history, you can't help but love her more.
I love a gruff, grumpy hero, and Hunter is all that and more Even when you should hate him, I just couldn't do it.
I completely get the small town vibe of this book, their wariness of outsiders and how hard it can be to fit in there - been there, done that! However I also get the great friendships you can make with those that reach out to you.
There are some completely horrible secondary characters in this book, and I wanted to cheer from the rooftops when they got what was coming.
I adored the people of this town and I can't wait to see what happens next.

A fast paced enemies-to-lovers fade-to-black romance, with grouch meets sunshine trope. About a city woman who moves into the farm she inherits from an aunt she never knew, and has to navigate sharing the farm with the handsome stranger who took care of her aunt, and who is her polar opposite. With the differences in their goals, she wants to sell the farm but he doesn't, their close-proximity brings them closer.
We have tragic back stories, a klutzy heroine (though with an explanation for her klutziness) to make the hero feel "protective" over her, and a bit of a grand gesture to win her over.
It was okay for passing time, the end wrapped up too quickly and with not enough build-up, the characters were really cliche, but it was okay. I'm not really sure if I'm interested in the rest of the characters and the world enough to read more from this series.
With each book she writes, Debbie Mason further cements her place on my author auto-buy list. I enjoyed her Christmas, Colorado series and fell in love with her Harmony Harbor characters and their journeys to love. I was so sad to see Harmony Harbor end and skeptical that Mason could create new characters I would love as much as the Gallaghers and DiRossis but, you know what? I just finished reading an ARC of Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge, the (May 26) book that will launch her new Highland Falls series, and she's done it again. Abby just may be my favorite Mason heroine ever. She's so much more than what she initially appears. Learning what she has overcome made me like and admire her even more and discovering the full story of how her dog, Bella came to live with her made her someone I'd want to be best friends with for life. I loved watching her evolution throughout the book. I'm a total pushover for a brooding alpha hero with a gentle side and a tortured soul. Hunter checked all my boxes...and Abby's too. They're so good together and I cannot wait to see more of them (hopefully) as the series continues.
I'm already invested in this small mountain town and the people who live there. I can't wait to find out what Mason has in store for them and the town of Highland Falls.
If you enjoy multi-layered characters, humor, emotional twists and turns, and heart-tugging romance that will leave you eager for more, I enthusiastically recommend a visit to Highland Falls, North Carolina and Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge.

Ehhh. It's been a while since I read a small town romance, so I kind of enjoyed that aspect of it and I liked the heroine. She got to be a fully rounded character. But overall the book was just kind of there. I didn't really understand why the aunt hated her and then didn't and then did again.
The standing stones stuff was weird and maybe insensative.
Thanks to NetGalley for the book!
Owned ebook 2/2 for the month Overall owned book 5/5 for the month
Thank you to Netgalley and Forever for the complimentary e-arc of this title.
Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge by Debbie Mason is a fun and action packed small town romance that would make a perfect beach read.
This story follows former YouTube influencer Abby Everhart as she tries to renovate an old rundown farmhouse she inherited from her aunt. In the process she meets Hunter MacKenzie, a military veteran hiding from the world, and sparks fly.
What I loved about the book:
- I loved watching the interaction between the two main characters. Abby is such an effervescent force. She made me laugh with extroverted charm, schemes, and perpetually positive attitude. I also loved Hunter with his grumpy, hermit ways and how he slowly comes to terms with the many losses he's had in life. - A town made up of a zany cast of characters. From secret societies based around Outlander to kilt wearing highlanders, this book was just a lot of fun. - Well meaning family members that you can't help but love - Quick paced action that makes the book hard to put down
If the book had a drawback I think it is that the ending wrapped up pretty quickly. It was satisfying, the ends just got tied up rather suddenly.
Overall I loved the book and can't wait to revisit this group again in future books.
Abby Everhart's life was going pretty well until she learned her husband was cheating on her and wanted a divorce. She has gone from having money and being a top media influencer to being homeless and out of options. With her marriage over, no home or money to speak of Abby is excited to learn that her great-aunt has left her a home and some property. She can't wait to put it up for sale so she'll have some money and a start to her new future. When she reaches her destination of Highland Falls, North Carolina her world is turn upside down again. The beautiful home she thought she would be selling is actually quite the fixed upper. The yard is overgrown, the roof is leaky, and it appears that a man is living in said property. Hunter can't believe the young woman that has shown up to claim his old friends property. She left most of the land to her niece but gave Hunter the building he lives in and it's surrounding land. Hunter, who is an ex-soldier, just wants to be left alone. The war changed him and he wants to live a solitary life without any undo interruptions. Sparks fly when the two meet, Hunter doesn't want to aid this helpless woman but he can't help himself. Abby doesn't want to like this grizzly man that has come into her life but the feelings that keep popping up make it hard. Neither of the two want to make huge changes, both have feelings that aren't easily set aside but life has a way of taking a hold an doing as it pleases. Follow as these two soon learn that they need each other to heal and maybe starting over isn't such a bad thing. This was a truly lovely read that had me in stitches one minute and tears the next, I love the emotional ride it took me on and look forward to what comes next. The characters were well written, the location beautiful, and the story line easy to become a part of.
I received an ARC of this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I see all these 4 and 5 star reviews and I can't believe we read the same book. I did give up at about 21%. Between the plethora of cliches and stereotypes and the constant humiliation of Abby, the female MC, I just can't. What I did read was fast and light, quick to read, but I just want to throw my Kindle across the room. So I'm done. Bye bye Honeysuckle Ridge!
This is Harlequin romance, chic-lit story gone bad. Way too over the top for me, with characters that are too sickening sweet to handle. While I love anything with a dog in it, I drew the line with this one. Like who dresses dogs up at all, much less to match their own outfits. Gag!
Debbie Mason has created another delightful series for her readers, with Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge. In this story we meet Abby Everhart, a woman who has lost just about everything and has just discovered that she has inherited her great-aunt's homestead. Newly divorced and unemployed, so this could not have come at a better time for her. She certainly doesn't want to live in the quaint little town. All Abby plans on doing is to fix up the house, put it on the market, and return to L.A. and get her life and career back on track.
Enter one ex-Delta Force soldier - Hunter MacKenzie. The very homestead Abby has inherited and plans to sell is his home. Having suffered much during his time at war, Hunter at least needs to have his home. When he discovers who Abby is and what her plans are, his irritation shines through time and again. Meanwhile, he is rather drawn to Abby on a visceral level and she herself has similar feelings towards him.
As I read this story, I felt two words fit Hunter - broody hero. Cranky as could be, but his transformation was handled well. Abby had a different effect on me as a reader. She was clumsy, had a very difficult past and this endeared me to her. As I read this book it was interesting to see the dynamic between Abby and Hunter. It was almost a hate to love story, so to read through the pages of the book enabled me to watch the relationship evolve.
Meanwhile, other characters were a part of this story, and I love that! Knowing that some of them will be around in future books in this series - Abby's stepsisters, Mason's brother and cousins - the possibilities are endless, and so this makes this book the start of what is sure to be an excellent series. Therefore, I am eager to read the next book in this series, Christmas on Reindeer Road, due for release in September.
Many thanks to Forever and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
Really sweet. After a rough divorce from her Bell air husband, and losing her career as an LA influencer Abby Everheart has hit rock bottom. That is until she discovers that her great Aunt had left her the Honeysuckle farm in Highland Hills, North Carolina. The problem is Abby is broke, and the house is in extreme need of repairs. And the house isn’t just hers. The handsome handyman, hunter Mackenzie who lives on the property also inherited half the farm. While Abby’s intention is to fix the place and then sell it hopefully making enough can move back to LA, there are many people in the town who are against her idea. While Hunter loves the farm he wants Abby off the property. Her extremely perky attitude and extroverted behavior overwhelm his hermit lifestyle. But he begrudgingly agrees to help Abby. And as he does he begins to realize their is far more to Abby than a stuck up social media star. And likewise Abby begins to very much enjoy her hunky handyman who tends to be on the grumpy side. Though they are attracted to each other they are each deadest on fixing the house and returning to their normal lifestyles, but they find that’s a lot harder than it seems.
Insanely cute. I LOVVVVEEE any book where they are fixing up a house it is always guaranteed to be fantastic. Handymen love interests are also very attractive to me. I love Abby and Hunter they were a great sunshine girl- grumpy guy duo. Which is another fav trope for me. The small town vibes were so much fun, and the couple had amazing tension. I don’t love when books involve social media in the plot, it never translates well. Also Abby getting subscribers really doesn’t mean she was getting any money so that was kind of wrong lol. But it was still cute regardless. I needed more spice for sure. There was a huge buildup only to skip over the sex scene directly, slightly frustrating. I also wished there was a bigger moment where they realized their feelings, it just seemed like they went from boyfriend to girlfriend without any real conversation about it .I did really like it. A great cast of characters and I am intrigued to read the rest of the books!
Ohhh my!!!! My first thoughts after I finished this book was oh wow! I need more!!! The story ends with such a great HEA. I mean seriously I need book 2 in the series NOW. I wasn't sure what to expect. The blurb sounded good but you never know. Then I started reading and I honestly didn't want to stop. This is one of those stories where you'll want to hid in the bathroom for hours so you can read and somehow don't be interrupted. Yes it's one of those reads. I didn't know how it would end, I worried that I'd end up being so caught up in these peoples' lives and end up with a cliff-hanger or an unsatisfying HEA...but author Debbie Mason did a great job. From beginning to end I loved everything from the hero and heroine to the characters around them to the town of Highland Falls. It helps that the book is set in NC I mean seriously I always love stories set in NC....but Highland Falls.....man I need to visit this little mountain town. I still chuckle over some scenes just remembering them as I write this review. The story is well-written, engaging and delightful on all levels. The characters are realistic, funny, at times eye-rolling worthy, and so very awesome you'll wish they were real. Fans of small town romances with outstanding characters and heartfelt story will love SUMMER ON HONEYSUCKLE RIDGE. This is one of those that you want to run out and buy tons of copies and give to strangers on the street. It's that good. Pick up your copy today....just be prepared you'll be ready for book 2(when can I read it???) and you'll be ready to hid somewhere and just read. You'll fall in love with the setting and the characters. I highly recommend SUMMER ON HONEYSUCKLE RIDGE to EVERYONE. Don't miss this one!!!
Debbie Mason is a new author to me, and I can’t wait to read more of her books! Abby is a successful influencer from LA. I love that she had such a current job. Unfortunately for Abby, she has just gone through a difficult and financially devastating divorce. She inherited a house in North Carolina. from a distant aunt that she didn’t know, and headed to NC check it out. Her immediate goal was to fix the house up, sell it, and head back to LA. She hadn’t factored in Hunter, who apparently also lives on the property, and the fact that the house needed a ton of work. So her stay at Honeysuckle Ridge became longer than anticipated with lots of interesting events.
This was a perfect romance for me. There was lots to smile about, a few sad spots, a cast of engaging and quirky characters (I can’t wait to read more stories in this series-this is book one), some personal reflection/growth, new friendships, and a wonderful slow burn romance. Hunter and Abby weren’t quite enemies to lovers, but they certainly started out as adversaries. Abby also had to charm certain members of the town that had been close to her aunt. I really liked that while there was a great romance, there was a lot more going on as well. This is absolutely a town I would like to visit!
Thanks to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. It was a pleasure!
I liked this book, and most of the characters, although it took me a while to warm up to Abby, the main character. After a rotten divorce, discovering her husband had been "working late" with his beautifukl attorney, Abby heads to Highland Falls, NC, to claim the farm her great aunt has left her. A social media influencer, Abby wants nothing more than to sell the farm and move back to LA.When she discovers that she only owns half the farm, and the gorgeous man living in the barn owns the other half, she begins trying to find ways to raise the money to buy him out. And this is where I had a problem with her. In my opinion, she held on the the "I HAVE to get back to LA" attitude far longer than she needed to. I know this was a plot device to move things forward, but honestly? I wanted to yell at her! By the final part of the book, I was in her corner and rooting for her, but it took a while to get there!! This is the first in the Highland Falls series by Debbie Mason, and when all is said and done, I am so glad that there are more to read now, and to look forward to after I finish those!!
Another great book by Debbie Mason. This book has great characters and a wonderful story line. From the beginning of the book to the very end you will have a lot of mixed emotions.
I think I laughed and almost cried a lot while reading it. Abby has been through a lot in her lifetime so far, her ex-husband Chandler divorced her for his attorney and then sued Abby so that she had nothing. She lived in her car with her little yorkie named Bella. Then her ex's housekeeper told her that she had inherited her Aunt Liz's house in Highland Falls. So Abby takes off to see about the house with the intention of selling it.
When she gets there she finds the house is rundown and in need of a lot of repairs that she can't afford to do. Then she finds out that all she owns is the house and the land in front and behind it. Hunter owns the rest.
Abby is quite the talker and Hunter is the silent type. But Abbey works her magic on him and brings him back into town and around his family.
An awesome story that will have you sitting on the edge of your chair wondering what she is going to do next
This is my first Debbie Mason book and it hit all the points I look for in a good book. I will definitely be checking out more of her books!
Abby has recently inherited her great aunts homestead on Honeysuckle Ridge, which comes at the perfect timing as she’s just now an unemployed media influencer, divorced and living out of her car. She arrives at Honeysuckle Ridge ready to find out what she needs to fix in order to sell as soon as possible. When she arrives, she meets Hunter who is currently living on the property. Neither meet eye to eye. But there’s something about the quirky redhead that Hunter can’t ignore for long.
Oh my gosh, this was so cute. Abbys quirky, but for a legitimate reason. I could picture her being so excited and chatting a mile a minute, barely getting her words out. I loved her as a heroine. Hunters also a great character. He’s got a great heart and personality under his tough exterior. Both Hunter and Abby are so snarky towards each other, and it’s great. They had me laughing numerous times.
I definitely recommend Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge!
This is my first time reading Debbie Mason, and I must say that she had my undivided attention from the get go. The writing is very fluid and alive. Since the setting is in NC, where I live, it was easy for me to envision.
Abby Everhart had it all, and then she had nothing but her little dog Bella that is until a long lost relative that she had never met left her a cabin in the woods of NC. What's a city girl with nothing to her name to do except travel from CA to NC to see how much she could sell the property for and get back on her feet.....but hold up, then there is Hunter, who happens to own half of the property...and is quite attractive.
I will definitely being more titles by this author.
Reading Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge was such an enjoyable experience that I was sad it had to end. Abby's life in LA had imploded and she found out by chance that she had inherited her great aunt's property in Highland Falls, NC. When she arrives at the property, she discovers hunky Hunter also inherited half of the property.
You will want to read about how Abby and Hunter help each other deal with the demons of their pasts in this fun story filled with their two dogs, new friends, and guys in kilts. I look forward to reading more books in this series.
I received a copy of this book to review through NetGalley, but I would have purchased it anyway.
