Le Cycle des Ombres #1

The Fault of Kaiber

Rate this book
Nicknamed the hero of Kaïber, Syd is a hero capable of commanding all the armies of the Paths of Light and leading them to victory. He also hides a secret: the Echyrion, an arm forged in the steel of the Cynwälls elves. It has the characteristic of sometimes galvanizing Syd and supporting it in combat, sometimes of causing somber effects.

The Fault of Kaiber was a different style to read. Slow moving with dark fantasy, I found it hard to read at first. The ending did get much better with a great battle scene but I didn't feel too attached to any one character.

Excellent combat scenes, truly engaging with great detail that feels threatening. The Dark Fantasy aspect in the world of Aarklash is quite unique. In the story we follow Syd, who I didnt feel connected to the character. The pacing is slow, the characters don't seem relatable - but an ok read.

C' est bien écrit, on sent le souffle épique de l' aventure, les scènes de combats de masses sont particulièrement prenantes...
Après, c'est quand même pas aussi bon que les Crépusculaires...
